Bad rushed service and over priced a plain white French tip full set was 65 dollars than I was charged 10 more dollars for almond shape and 10 more dollars for gel polish ! So 85 for a simple French tip acrylic set that wasn't filed right and a couple nails were crooked my nails came out horrible read more

I came to get my nails done 2 days before my trip to mexico. They were nice but the girl who did my pedicure cut me pretty bad to the point that i was dripping blood from my toe and she didn't even say anything or apologize. The owner did my dip nails but she kept messing up and blaming me the top coat kept drying matte instead of shiny and she accused me of touching them and blowing on them i told her i didn't but she said i did so i just let it go and let let her keep trying to fix it. It happened like 3 times and finally she got it right. A day later the day i need to leave for my flight my nails were already cracking on the sides and my toe was fully infected and oozing. I went that same day in a rush because mind you i have a flight to catch and i told her i had an infection and that my nails were cracking and i need a refund for what i paid and i showed pictures and she said she needed to see my toe so i showed it to her and told her it hurt and that in the morning it was oozing and gross she then squeezed it and they only gave me a refund for my pedicure after fighting them for it and getting my toe hurt even more from her squeezing it to confirm it was infected and they refused to refund me at all for the dip nails that were already cracking after one day of having them honestly the worst experience i have ever had! I would definitely not recommend! This a zero star establishment. read more

Giving this place 3 stars because I'm literally sitting in the nail shop now and 1) I came into my appointment admittedly late. However I ask if he has time if I wait he says yes. 5 minutes later he sits me down with someone else and tells me they are doing a manicure instead of a full set. 2) The girl doing my manicure rushes me to get to another client. Literally leaves my old paint on my nail. 3) I get up to pay which is usually done before paint so you don't mess it up. However they only take cash so my nails messed up and if I wanna wanted them painted again I had to get wait: Thankfully the woman who does nails fixed them. Just a big hassle. read more

Been here a few times with pretty good results, but my sister is a regular here. After this last trip though, my would be 4 star review, got bumped up to 5 stars. Everyone is super friendly and they're usually busy (always a good sign!). Henry is a pro at manis and Linh is great at pedis. She's also ridiculously talented when it comes to hand painted nail art. I believe her mom works there now too. I didn't catch her name, but she was the one that gave me my pedi last week. Let me tell you... After wearing sandals all summer, my feet were pretty rough and tough. This woman worked magic. I've had pedis before, but my heels were usually still on the "harder" side. (Is that weird to say? Ok... Maybe a little, but I'm sure you know what I mean.) By the time my pedi was over, I was sleepy. It was such a relaxing experience and my feet felt soooooo soft. All over soft and smooth. My toe nails were trimmed to perfect little curved squares and the polish came out fantastic! Not one smudge, streak or bubble. Just a gorgeous, shiny deep purple. She was amazing. The place isn't much to look at, but it's clean, the people are nice and prices are more than reasonable for what you get. I think a pedi is like $20 (+$2 for the files if you didn't bring your own.) read more

She is gentle and very talented with nail designs. This is a small, clean and friendly neighborhood salon. It is not fancy but they do fantastic work for very reasonable prices. read more

The pedicure was good 6 years ago so I came back since I was in the area. Equipment is old and falling apart including massage chairs. Also this is a cash only salon which has changed since I was there 6 yrs ago. Theres no visible signage and no atm on site. If u have to go to bank be prepared to have them force u to give them collateral. I had to give them my new cell phone for a 35 dollar pedicure until I returned from the bank. read more

I am not from town and asked an employee of Mine to recommend a nail place that wasn't too expensive while I was in town she recommended the New York nails and at first when I pulled up it did not look very nice very small I didn't really want to go in because it was such a hole in the wall but the service I got was really great I left my dip nail color and the owner and his wife were super nice and my nails turned out very nice. They were customers in there too that you could tell go in there all the time because they were getting pedicures and knew the owner by name and you could tell they were having a very good time with him great job I would definitely go there again they had a ton of options read more

Did not have to wait to be attended. It was inconvenient that it's a cash only salon. In regards to service, I had to prompt the nail tech to make sure to get my ingrown 3x each foot. I also had to politely ask her to scrub my heels and the side of my feet more as she did so for 5 - 10 seconds and wanted to move on to other foot. I would have preferred for her to spend more time on scribing my heels than massaging my legs, because it is a pedicure after all. read more

Been back to New York Nails a few times since my last review and it's been just great. Except for my most recent experience. It was pretty awful and I want to let you know that I have given them verbal feedback as well. So here's how it went down: -I called ahead to make an appointment for a mani / pedi for a friend and myself. They said yeah, cool, come on in. -Got there, waited for about 10 minutes until they started, no biggie. -Cold water in the foot soak pool. Whatever, let's do this. -Back and forth with the foot soak, more peeps coming in. -My friend expresses pain and asks them to stop what is being done to cause it - no avail. -We start the mani session, it's already been over an hour. I remind them of the time. -They are rushing, cutting my cuticles hard, my fingers are bleeding. -There are hairs in both mine and my friend's nails - I ask them to remove them which they do. -We get rushed off to the drying table. It's been over two hours! - I give them feedback at check out, leave a small tip. -5 days later my fingers are swollen, and feel infected. My polish is chipping and smudged. Not going back there after this experience. read more

Yesterday was a BIG day for my sister. Her first outing after being back here in Portland and she asked me to take her for manicure, pedicure, and eyebrows. I told her " lets use Yelp". Turned out that New York Nails was right around corner. It was a great experience and they were very accommodating. Even though it was closing time they sqeezed us both in and stayed late. So I was a faithful and very loyal customer at this place for several years. However, I called last week to schedule an appointment to have Lynn or Henry do my full set and for Lynn to do my nail art because she is "the best" at it. When I got there Henry did my full set but kept huffing and puffing like he was irritated the whole time. Then when it was time to paint my nails he was mad that I didn't pick out a color before I got there. Like how am I supposed to just know what colors you have? Then he told me that Lynn couldn't do my art because she had appointments like I didn't have one as well. I was highly disappointed in the service I received there today. I hope that they will see this and realize that every customer's money is as good as the next because they lost mine today. I doubt I will ever go back. read more

They have a nail drying table! Second one I've seen at a salon. When I went, (May 2017) there were three pedicures you could choose from. Classic was like $25, this jelly one was $35, and another one was something in between those. The 3 girl staff were nice. There was Henry too, but he works with manicures more. I am planning to return again next month. The salon can be more clean, I can have more massage, feet in water time, and maybe they can do a booking appointments online, but overall, I guess it was nice! :) I change my mind.
