Went there for my husband's birthday dinner. Started out with the chicken fried lobster that was to die for. We got a nice bottle of wine and warm bread. The server was helpful and kept a good flow. My husband had the bison and quail dish and I had a pasta dish. The food was on point. Be sure to save room for dessert. The chocolate soufflé and peach cobbler was delicious . We had a great meal and a great time. We will be back! read more

This has always been our go-to date night place when we want something close, and it had been awhile since we had been. It just wasn't what it has been in the past. The calamari was on the overcooked side and was definitely more filler than actual calamari pieces. My husband had the cedar plank salmon and I had the Mediterranean salad with salmon; both pieces of fish were skimpy and undercooked. The menu said it was sushi-grade salmon so we didn't send them back, but my husband felt ill after dinner so perhaps we should have. read more

I'll start out by saying we are foodies. It takes a lot to impress us & this place did it. The service was impeccable. The owner/chef & her husband stopped by to greet us as they welcomed feedback. Appetizers: Lobster & Shrimp Potstickers in lobster bisque sauce - seared just right, warm and slightly toasty, NOT chewy. Sauce was flavorful, but not too rich. The Next Crab Cakes in chipotle remoulade & Siracha sauce - mild, perfect texture, & NOT greasy. Dinner: I had the chicken breast smothered in artichoke hearts, capers & olives & garlic sauce. Incredibly moist with a flavor you will never forget. I rarely order chicken for dinner because so many places overcook it or smother it in a heavy butter gravy. The artichokes & olive pieces gave it just the right amount of sauce and the garlic sauce was slightly creamy but NOT heavy. Hubby had the Duck a l'orange. He loved it, but I was too busy ooh-ing and ahhh-ing over my dish, that I didn't hear what he loved about his. hahaha. Dessert: We polished it off with a souflee, which he said was made to perfection. read more

I made reservations for my husband and I for Valentines day at 9 PM. We arrived 15 minutes early for our reservation and were told it would be a 30 minute wait. Our first thought was "why would we have to wait 30 minutes for a reservation we are 15 minutes early for?" We were eager to sit and have our romantic dinner so we said okay and decided to wait. Fast forward an hour and we were finally seated at 9:50pm... yes that is correct, 9:50pm. The busser came by our table, thanked us for being so patient and poured us both a glass of water. When we saw the special valentine's day menu we were excited and relieved because at that point we were absolutely famished. Fast forward another 20 minutes and we had not been greeted by our server, no one had come over to check and see if a server had come by, and all we had were the two glasses of water the busser poured for us after having waited until 10pm to be seated for a 9pm reservation. I cannot give an honest opinion on the food because I never got the chance to even order an appetizer, nor can I give an opinion on the drinks because, well, all we got was a glass of water. We were very disappointed and ended up leaving because we were too hungry to wait any longer. This was extremely disappointing and a ruined what was supposed a wonderful valentine's day dinner away from the kiddos. I WOULD HAVE GIVEN NO STARS IF IT WERE AN OPTION. read more

I had lunch there today...I ordered a Cobb salad and had to request blue cheese crumbles as they were not included; I received a very small amount after requesting it. I also requested additional salad dressings as the salad was quite dry. We live in this city and stopped dining there several years ago following a disagreement with the owner. We will not try it again. read more

I ordered half sandwich and fresh fries only to receive potato chips in place of fries. French onion soup was good but extremely overpriced. Salad was small for the price charged as well. read more

We come to Next pretty regularly and the food is always good - but service is SO SLOW! Be prepared to WAIT. We waited for everything. Maude was the only server for the whole restaurant so that's the problem. They need more servers to improve the experience. Not fair to customer or to the person serving. read more

We've been dining with Next for many years now. For the last few months, we've been getting take-out, though they do have limited indoor seating. For our anniversary, we dined on warm Brie, crab cakes, Salmon, Angus Steak, sautéed mushrooms, truffle mashed potatoes, asparagus, and rum cake. As usual, all ingredients are top quality and Chef Ying prepares everything perfectly. The menu has a wide variety of items and Next now has meals for two and family meals. Thank you, Chef Ying, as always, for a delicious dinner. read more

We went for Paella night. Party of four. We really wanted to like this local fine restaurant. Waitress (M) was very aloof. 3 out of 4 paella dishes were good (not great), but my husband's tasted and smelled scorched. The lobster dumplings were mediocre. Good but not worth the $$$. It was disappointing. read more

Went for a birthday / late Father's day celebration. There is a certain attitude at restaurants that kind of permeates through the staff. You definitely get the feeling that they are working for tips. In other words the interactions feel a little fake. The dish I ordered had an issue which I didn't notice right off the bat. Once I noticed it and looked to inform the waitress we never saw her again until I asked someone filling waters to find her please. At which point I was done with dinner. The next interaction was the check and I would have expected the manager to come by and apologize or acknowledge the issue. On the way out I asked to speak to the manager and a young lady said "I am the manager". I pressed her a bit she said well we take turns or something to that effect. Root of the problem is a lack of hierarchy and accountability. I got a sarcastic apology on my way out. Five star prices two star service. I recommend the wait staff have dinner at a five star restaurant and take notes. read more

I started dining here restaurant week and didn't know that this neighborhood gem even existed but I guess you've got to live in the neighborhood. Anyway, I enjoyed it then and decided to try it again with my dear friend. We enjoyed the lobster and crab potstickers which I highly recommend. The special tonight was the Trio seafood dish that included a scallop, a sea bass portion and a Tiger Shrimp on top mashed potatoes but we sub for Au gratin instead. The sea bass entree was very tasty. Both dishes were amazing. Josh makes great cocktails. This place lives up to it's reputation. read more

Went here for dinner. The food was good but not spectacular by any means. My biggest complaint is the service that was given. The waiter didn't seem very interested in us. My wife asked about wines and what he'd recommend. He told her to just keep looking to see what would interest her. He seemed condescending I'm many respects. He never asked us if we wanted bread on the table and just the general service left much to be desired. It took them forever to bring our order. I just didn't get the sense that they were about looking after us. I wouldn't go back. read more

They have totally re-vamped the interior of NEXT yet again, however still the same 5 Star food and service is what makes this place a Gem in all of DFW! But I have to admit, the best thing about this place is François the French sommelier and server! Hopefully you can catch him on nights he works and get a table with him. He picks the BEST wines and knows the menu inside and out, which delectably changes at all times with new gourmet dishes! I love to go up just to see François, and I don't have to think about the literally novel wine list or menu, and it's always warm fun conversation! All the other staff you can see, is a very family atmosphere as well, which I think speaks about the feeling you get when you are there, and the time to be enjoyed! Always a perfect choice, always pleases! Quaint, cozy, and equal to any fine dining in any metropolitan city! read more

Found this place on a stay in Arlington. This place is one of a kind!! Excellent drinks, food, and one of the best wine selections I've ever seen!! Tom the owner made this a one of a kind experience. He was happy to engage in conversation with us for most of our dinner as we opted to dine at the bar and paired some rare offerings with our meal!! I will go back as soon as I can!! Everything Ying makes is amazing. Smoke bombs, burnt belly bites, lobster and shrimp potstickers, cedar plank salmon, wild mushroom risotto, are just a few of my favorites. Got there with only two other tables seated and we ordered pasta. I asked if they had any small salads and the waiter said whatever is on the menu. I should've probably left then but I gave them a shot to see if the food was good. We ordered pasta and after almost 30 min we left. No idea if the food was good but there's too many choices to eat around there to have such lousy service. read more

At the time of me writing this review, this restaurant hasn't officially opened to the public. I was fortunate enough to be invited to a preview of things to come. I can't comment on the decor since, well, constructions was still going on. Also, since this was a preview, it was a set course meal. Now that the disclaimer is out of the way, a bit about the food. First up, home made yogurt topped with caviar and sweet olive oil. Next up, seared foie gras over toasted bread. 3rd item, duck confit wrapped in thinly sliced cucumber. On to fennel salad with cherry tomatoes and grapes. Once we cleaned up this plate, it was on to escargot sauteed in garlic and olive oil with cherry tomatoes. We finished the evening off with dry aged rib eye with baby dutch potatoes broiled in duck fat. What was my favorite? It's a toss up between the foie gras and escargot. Was there anything I didn't like? Are you NUTS?????? Everything was delicious, delectable, just plain and simply YUMMY. I can't wait for them to open. PS, they didn't pay me to write this review, they just fed me :) Oh and in case you're wondering where the pizza was, since the restaurant has pizza in its name, they were still building the wood fired pizza oven. read more

We went here a few years ago and were blown away by the food. This past weekend we were both sick (figuratively and literally) from our visit. The fried lobster was ok. $28 for ok isn't worth it in my book. The lobster was so over cooked and chewy which quickly became a theme for the night. We ordered the $2 bread and butter which was the highlight of the night. When your bread is the highlight of your restaurant, you're probably doing it wrong. Our entrees were the worst of it all though. We spent over $60 for them and both were so bland, over cooked, and under seasoned that we should have sent them back. A scallop should not be chewy. Mine were and tasted so bad I had to upchuck the last one into my napkin before they took the plate away. My husband's duck was gross. We were both served squash risotto which tasted like watered down rice with squash bits thrown in. Eewww. When we left we were fine...for a minute...until we had to stop at a gas station to exercise the demons disguised as our dinner from Next Bistro. Don't waste your money here. We were beyond disappointed and today we're both still reeling from the effects of what they claim to be fine dining. read more

Next Bistro is one of our favorite restaurants in the Colleyville area for those special dinners. Last night was to celebrate my wife's birthday. We booked through Open Table and there were no issues with our reservation. We were seated within just a few minutes. Drinks were ordered and came quickly and accurately prepared. I had the Crispy Duck with roasted vegetables, and my wife had Scallops with risotto. We also ordered a side of Potato Gratin. Everything was excellent! It's easy to see why this restaurant is always busy. The food, the service, and the atmosphere all add up to an enjoyable evening. read more

My fiancé and I split the absolutely incredible crab cakes for an appetizer. After, we shared the most amazing tasting beef prime rib I've ever experienced. For our sides, we tried the mac and cheese (absolutely perfectly cooked) and the wild mushroom risotto (sweet, savory, amazing texture) The wine was incredible, the Irish old fashioned was so good I had to have it twice. All in all, amazing food, amazing service, incredible ambiance. We can't wait to come back! read more

Very cute spot. Was hopeful bit the service was terrible. Food was really bad. We ordered the bacon wrapped shrimp appetizer . The bacon was not crisp at all it was flabby and disgusting. The wedge salad was good but scallops came instead of the shrimp that i ordered. The server replaced it right away but the shrimp were overdone and quite small. Waiter was apathetic. Never once came to ask how our food was. Colleyville needs some better dining options Will not be back to this establishment. Its overpriced too. They do have a nice wine list and drink menu. read more

Food was good. However, we felt very rushed through the meal. It was a fixed menu which we weren't told when we made our reservations so probably would've opted for somewhere else. The cocktails were very good but we weren't able to finish our cocktails before they were already bringing our appetizers and then our entrée right after that. read more

I have to agree that the food here is generally really good. And that the service is really hit or miss. Thus the two stars. And it's all the same servers. We made reservations for Easter brunch. So we knew we would have a prix fix menu with some nice selections for three courses. Last year was not too busy on Easter, but they had a nice crowd when we arrived yesterday. We've also been several times on regular days (non holidays) with the same experiences. From the smoked salmon appetizers to wedge salad to eggs Benedict, food was pretty good. What was amazing was how little we saw our waiter. And after the second course, after waiting an unbelievable length of time for our entrees, our waiter came by to ask if we wanted dessert. When we, in unison, said we were still waiting for our main course, rather than apologizing for the long delay, he made excuses for the kitchen. Very disappointing. When our entrees did arrive, they were barely warm (especially the hash-browned potatoes with our eggs Benedict). Then, when we were actually ready to learn what are options for dessert were, he just said, "it's chef's choice" and started putting plates in front of us without even asking if we wanted them. No, after plenty of poor experiences here before, there are simply too many great options in the area to spend $50/person on brunch or dinner. Pros: Usually very good food, nice wine list. Cons: Poor service more often than not. Bottom Line: Find someplace else to spend your money. There are too many great options where both the kitchen *and* wait staff respect their customers. read more

This place has a weird feel probably owing to the fact that it used to be a Taco Bueno. Step inside and you'll find an upscale (they serve duck!), pricey Italian restaurant. Their presentation, namely the outside signage and the menu, doesn't look very pulled together (but admittedly, I'm a font snob). The food and the service were both good. We went on a Wednesday evening around 5pm and there was only one other table of customers, making it seem there were waaay too many employees. However, we decided we will be returning sometime when we have another $50 to blow. read more

From what I hear, Next got off to a very rough start, but they've certainly ironed out any kinks now. The location itself is pretty uninteresting - it takes a lot to get someone to eagerly drive to Colleyville for a night out - and in a weird spot (if you aren't a local) but the interior is cozy and well-appointed. Tables are very, very, very close together, in a turn-sideways-when-walking sort of way, and the air conditioning is permanently set to Arctic, so be prepared with layers. The physical menu irritates me, I'll admit - it's very TGIFridays and incongruous with the rest of the experience. The food, though, is interesting. The Mediterranean salad is one I order every trip, and completely inhale - it's so good. The artichoke dip (not the one with crab, the other one) with crostini is so unusual - it's more of a soup consistency, served in its own little Staub (love!) - but really delicious. I unabashedly admit that I was wiping the inside of the casserole with bread to get the dregs. For entrees, I've tried the rosemary-skewered beef (better in theory than in practice) and the various ravioli on the day, each of which has been delicious. The real star, though, is the Mongolian duck special. It's easily one of the best duck dishes I've ever tried, with apologies to Oddfellows. Desserts lack inspiration, so better to fill up on appetizers and a huge entree than try to save room there. read more

Made a reservation via OpenTable. Ambience and setting very nice and quaint inside despite the outside looking a bit commercial. Diverse menu especially small plates, appetizers, flatbread, pizzettes, and sides. We sampled numerous dishes - the escargot, crab tower, calamari, margarita flatbread, peach burrata, gnocchi, Mediterranean salad, and an Italian sausage and mushroom pizza. Every single dish was terrific and unique. The escargot could have used a bit more flavor. We had peach cobbler and bread pudding for dessert which were both excellent. Highly recommend. Nacho was our server and he was wonderful and attentive too! We will be back! read more

This was maybe our fourth time here and I must say they stay consistent and or even become better each time. Nice atmosphere not too stuffy etc. Waiter was good at what he did and had a nice sense of humor. The drink I ordered wasn't great but it was handled with grace and the next one was amazing. Had mozzarella and tomato for a starter and the mozzarella was so fresh and well made in house. Delicious Will have to definitely stop in more often! read more

I really want to like Next because it's so convenient, The food is interesting and the wine program is fantastic. That said, they make it very difficult. The service is at best indifferent, and you're almost made to feel like it's a bit of a bother that you showed up. On our most recent visit, Our waitress came by after we had been waiting for our entrées for quite a long time and said we're just waiting on one more to be finished. And when everything finally came out, it was obvious that most of the food had been sitting for quite some time. In addition, they added a mandatory 20% tip to our bill, which I didn't notice right away, which is only supposed to be for tables of eight, and we did not have eight people. This place runs to the expensive end, and you would think they Would make a little more effort to make customers feel welcome and get things on the service side right, but it just doesn't seem to be a priority. There are much better overall experiences nearby. Also one of our customers who is lactose intolerant asked twice if the bolognese had cream in it - because it sure looked like it did. Waitress said no twice and when she got home she felt terrible. Left us wondering if waitress even checked as she acted like the question was an imposition. read more

Stopped in Saturday, 5 Nov 2011 about 7pm. The place was busy, but we found two seats at the end of the bar, by the waitress station. Worked out fine, we prefer bar seating. From previous reviews, I was worried that I wouldn't like the decor (something about yellow and bright). True, the walls were yellow, but not overpowering. They also had booths along a wall or two (in a dull blue leather, I think). They do need a few more decorations on the west wall. I too was hoping for a less "metro" place and more traditional (more dark wood), but it really was fine. Seemed small, but I like that too. There is a back room with more seating. We ordered the soup of the day (parsnip soup), crab cakes and a flatbread pizza that was supposed to have Grilled onion marmalade, escargot, crème truffle, camembert cheese. The crab cakes were great! I'm not an expert, but I liked them. The flatbread pizza seemed to be missing the onion marmalade and the escargot. Quite dry. Good crust though. Easily improved. We were busy talking with new found friends at the bar so we didn't complain or even notice too much. The parsnip soup was excellent. It went right down the hatch! I could have had a couple bowls. The service was fine. Everyone seems to still be getting familiar with things there. I'm not worried about it. The bartender said they will have a grand opening when they make sure sure all the kinks are worked out. We'll see if things get smoother in the future. All in all, we liked the place and will go back. It's just down the road for us. Hopefully the Friday happy hours will be good there. read more

This was probably the worst meal for the money I've ever had. The food was served cold and took over an hour to come out. While we were waiting on our food, and it was obviously was sitting somewhere getting cold, the owners were sitting with some friends enjoying the hell out of their Friday night. I feel like I was ripped off and will never be back. I'm giving two stars because the waiter did a good job and suggested a very nice wine. And, the appetizer was good. But, that's about it. read more

This was almost 5-star. The selection on the menu includes rare treats, such as elk tenderloin. It is varied enough so that you can have a field greens salad and a flatbread, or a well-presented seafood or steak entree. The dessert list is the best I've seen since...I can't remember when. And the food is fabulous. All six of us at my table had nary a complaint. Pictures were snapped with every course, the food is so photogenic and appealing. My only complaint was our very snarky waiter and the menus, which lacked prices at times, and the lack of a dessert menu altogether. And then the waiter had the nerve to look irritated when we had clarifying questions or asked him to repeat things... If they had put it in writing, we could have saved him the effort. BUT---the food is what it's all about. If I have a reason to get near Coppell again, I'm coming back to try more of those desserts. read more

Took hubby here for 'date night' and we were both impressed. As other reviewers have said, the tables are close together, however at 730pm on a Thursday night, that wasn't really an issue. Our waitress Barbara was great - good check-backs, refills on coffee and she even gave my husband a complimentary glass of red wine, that was poured in error. Very good service! The menu is as noted online, with quite a few 'off the menu' specials, including one soup, two appetizers, and about 3-4 entrees. Would have rather had them on an insert in the menu as it was hard to remember. We began with the flat-bread ($6) and chose the oven-dried tomato, mozzarella and oregano butter - VERY good combo - will try to make oregano butter at home even. Came from the oven hot garlicky and generously topped. Would highly recommend. We each ordered a Caesar Salad ($8) and found the dressing tangy, refreshing and generously served. The salad portion was huge and the lettuce crisp. Next time, will likely split one, as I couldn't finish mine. I opted for the Fettuccine Alfredo with Chicken ($16) and found it to be lightly sauced, topped with a relatively small amount of chicken strips (grilled) and served with an impossibly hard piece of bread. The menu says it's a 'garlic cream sauce' and I found it to be much lighter than the normally cloyingly thick Alfredo sauce from other restaurants; however, it was almost too thin to cling to the pasta. Will rethink this dish in the future. My husband ordered one of the daily specials, the Seafood Napoleon ($34). This was two slabs of salmon, layered with crab meat in between, perched on top of julienne veggies and mashed potatoes and covered with a lobster sauce. Not sure where the mashed potato idea came from, but it wasn't a good fit, as were the veggies - those are better served with a non-seafood/non-lobster sauced entree. The fish was generously portioned, cooked properly, appropriately tender and flaky and not dry. Overall, a pretty good dish, though oddly paired with those two sides. We finished with a shared creme brulee ($6) that was creamy, smooth and topped with a perfectly crispy caramelized sugar crust. Came with one strawberry as a garnish, which was the only thing left untouched when we left. Service was friendly, timely and it was a good place to try on a 'date night'. Total, with two glasses of wine for hubby (not including the complimentary one), coffee for me and the dinner as noted was $114 prior to gratuity....a little spendy for a weeknight dinner, but it's not our norm! We have eaten here a few times before and it's been great, but have not been in a while. We booked a reservation tonight for a 50th birthday dinner@6pm. When we arrived there was a 4 top seated in the front room. They escorted us to the back room that has zero ambiance. There was a couple seated back there with a toddler who was watching videos on a phone, loud enough for us to hear. I asked the waitress if we could be seated in the front room, to which she replied "let me check." Really? There are a total of 7 people in the entire restaurant, including a baby. We proceeded to walk into the front room anyway. We were met by the hostess who escorted us to a tiny 2 top table. I thanked her and said I just didn't want to listen to "Barney" during dinner. She looked confused so I said "the baby watching videos on the phone." She replied "oh yeah, he's a cute little one." Then she sarcasticly said "enjoy your dinner." I looked at my husband and said let's leave. I might expect that attitude from a hostess of a packed restaurant. But then again, if the restaurant was packed we probably wouldn't have been able to hear the baby's videos. We were going to try Perry's Steakhouse because Stonehouse looked packed, but I called and they were more than accommodating. The food, wine, service and ambiance we fantastic. I highly recommend Stonehouse and sadly will never return to Next Bistro. From the looks of the parking lot when we drove past there after dinner, other people feel the same way. read more

Ok - this place is confusing. Outside is unkept and unattractive...strange since this is simple and inexpensive to fix. Inside is more comfortable, but paintings are kind of weird. Huge wine list, which we loved. However, Alex tried to make us feel bad for not ordering a bottle over $100. Food was good, but every dish took a looooong time. We spent a lot of time waiting...did they hope we would just keep ordering more wine? Our waiter only checked in every 20 minutes or so...where did he go in the meantime? Maybe we were just not spending enough? At the end of the night our bill was over $135 and Alex charged us for two desserts (we shared one) and for two dessert wines (we shared one). He tried to play the overcharges off as an oversight, but we were not sure. read more

Established in 2008.

The business began in 2008 as Y2Kitchen, specializing in catering and desserts. As the catering business grew, I needed my own site from which to operate and we found our new location in Colleyville. The decision was then made to expand the business and open Next Bistro.

Meet the Business Owner: Ying A.

I left Beijing after I earned my Industrial Engineering degree and came to the US to pursue my dreams. I received my MS degrees in Economics and Accounting and then earned my CPA license as I began my career. After several years I decided to leave the business world to pursue other interests and obligations. I found that I loved to cook and entertain for family, friends and business associates. I began studying all types of foods preparation, learning specialized techniques, trying recipes and exploring new combinations. My cookbook collection now exceeds 700, all of which have brought new and exciting dimensions to my cooking. I turned my business suit in for a chef's jacket as I opened Y2Kitchen Catering in 2008 and now my restaurant Next Bistro in Colleyville.

Taking our chances as a party of three walk in's, the restaurant was full inside, and there were a few tables open on the patio. I generally don't like to eat on patios, because flies show up, etc. Not at Craftway... not sure what they were doing, but there wasn't a fly or other flying bug around. The patio wasn't just clean, it was meticulous. Welcoming too - It felt very much like an extension of the restaurant. Alex, our waiter was quick to bring water and menus. Returning to take drink orders, a margarita was ordered as was a glass of Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc. Drinks were quickly served. Water was never allowed to become empty. Alex asked if we had ever been to Craftway, we informed him this was our first visit. His ask "any allergies?" to which we said no. He disappeared, returning with an appetizer sampling plate with three items - the Reuben egg rolls, crab stuffed mushrooms, and blue cheese chips. All were fantastic! Three entrees ordered, the Chicken & Fig sandwich, Chicken Milanese and the Cajun pasta with Chicken. Food arrived; each entree was fantastic. Cooked to perfection, flavors were amazing. Dessert, shared, was a bread pudding with ice cream, a perfect finish. Alex never let beverages become empty, delivered superb service. The Chef circulated the room checking on satisfaction and chatting with patrons. Giving Craftway Kitchen a very well deserved 5-star rating. The staff did everything right! Most of the starers are mouthwatering, even the unexpected Ruben Eggrolls are a delight. Less daring items like the coconut shrimp are equally good. Without a doubt my go to entree is the Beef Wellington. I remember La Madeleine had an affordable one on their menu in the late nineties, this is reminiscent. I do usually swap out the mashed potatoes for the chopped wedge as side, just seems like the classical steakhouse side for the task. The only thing I would say that is lacking is the wine list, despite being very fairly priced. Their most bespoke bottle of red is the Silver Oak Cabernet Sauvignon (2021), which while amazing for the $99.99 they charged, it was fairly flat, lacking the traditional vanilla perfume you'd expect from a pricey California Cabernet Sauvignon. Also took a bottle of GH Mumm Grand Cordon, which also did not taste as anticipated. I think the most plausible explanation might be heat damage, as both wines are usually well regarded but came up short.

I wasn't a huge fan of the pineapple bourbon glaze since I didn't think it added much to the dish, but the quality of the meat made up for it. We also had the strawberry spinach salad, which was fresh and a nice lighter option alongside all the richer dishes. Then there was also a side dish with green beans and almond and again no complains there. Overall, I left feeling a little conflicted. The service was outstanding, the atmosphere was great, and the portions were very generous. The food itself was a mix of really good dishes and others that completely missed the mark. After such an incredible start with the calamari, I expected the rest of the meal to be on the same level, but it just never got there. I'm glad we tried it, but I don't think it's a place I'd rush back to.

I told her this and she said it should still have the strip in it. I didn't want to argue so I happily paid using a different $20, but my curiosity got the better of me later that evening and I looked it up and she was incorrect. They did not start adding the strips until 1992. I could understand if it was some youngster that might only be familiar with the newer bill design, but she was not young. I also would have accepted her stance if she said it was hotel policy to only accept bills that have the strip. The way the interaction took place left me feeling accused of trying to pass a counterfeit bill. A little more tact would have gone a long way here. I feel like a hotel manager would be more in tune with customer service. Funny enough, I went back to the bar the next night and paid with the $20 in question. The bartender on duty that night accepted it without batting an eyelash. Food was just okay. Our group tried a variety of menu items: Ribs, wings, carbonara, salmon, pretzel appetizer, hummus, and maybe a couple other things. Ribs were probably the best thing, but nothing really stood out.

She took the cold water away, turned around, and later came back simply setting the hot water down without a word. When we were looking at the menu, my husband asked what the side options were. She replied in an annoyed tone, "It's right there," while pointing at the menu. My husband then asked if she could just tell us, which she eventually did. From start to finish, there was no smile, no pleasantries, no sense that she even wanted to serve us. Mind you, this was 9 AM on a Monday, and there were only three occupied tables in the restaurant, including ours. When the food arrived, one of the plates had dirt, a dead bug, or something similar on it. We pointed it out, and instead of apologizing, she took the plate away, came back, denied it was a bug, and still seemed visibly irritated. Later, I asked for extra napkins. She returned and aggressively dropped them on the edge of the table without even looking at us before walking away. Throughout the entire meal, she passed by our table several more times and never once checked on us. We left feeling dismayed, disappointed, and honestly feeling like the service did not deserve a tip--so we didn't. This used to be one of our go-to spots after church on Sundays, but unfortunately, that will no longer be the case. Suffice it to say, we will not be returning.

We have introduced many friends and family to this incredible restaurant and they've all become fans. In the past year and a half we've been there for many Brunches, Lunches and Dinners as well as a handful of their wine tastings and we've never been disappointed! Tom (the owner's husband NOT the owner) has orchestrated a wonderful wine selection. Although his "day job" has nothing to do with the restaurant Tom (the guy at the bar who is NOT the owner) still comes to the restaurant in the evenings ready to share any information on the up coming wine tasting event while doing business with wine distributors at the bar. If Tom is not too exhausted he many stay long enough to take his wife "the owner" home after a long day. (Hope that clears a few things up). Own/Chef Ying makes the best Cedar Blank Salmon ....OMG! Filet of Beef Carpaccio appetizer is delicious and the Roasted Red Pepper appetizer is awesome.... My favorite salad is the Watermelon Cucumber with the Radish and Cucumber coming in second (both are seasonal) ....my favorite flat bread is the prosciutto and fig....
