I sent this company a damage claim in writing per the contracts directions via Fedex w/signature required. After three+ weeks of attempted delivery, Fedex reported that suite 525 doesn't exist and returned my claim. I had given Fedex this companies phone number to arrange alternate delivery. Again, how can you claim damages via writing only if they don't provide a valid mailing address, nor respond to queries from Fedex? Buyer Beware! Nextgen was awesome. I booked a few days ahead. They showed up on time and got right to work. It was a somewhat complicated move going from a house to a condo. There were stairs and elevators involved. These guys made it work. We went a bit over on time, but that was due to me underestimating how much stuff I had and accidentally locking myself out of the building once. They were great. We hired movers for two hours to move FOUR pieces of furniture. Everything was confirmed over the phone. When the movers got here they refused to do 2 hours and doubled the price. We continued to tell them that we only needed help moving a mattress, couch, and dresser for a 20 foot truck... the rest we could put in our car. They refused and said, "we will not do any move under three hours" even though we were cleared by management for 2 hours the day before. Arrived 45 mins late because the got a flat tire. That should have been my first clue. I had everything packed and wrapped and it took 7 hours for them to move my belongings into a storage. Once my belongings were packed in the truck it took an extra 45 mins because the drivers had to stop and get gas and drinks. My storage was less than 5 miles away from the home I was moving from. Once at the storage, my belongings were thrown into my storage no organization effort was put it. They then proceeded to unwrap the belongings I wrapped in order to make it fit in my storage. Prior to moving my belongings in the storage I asked the storage company what size they recommended based on what I was moving and how many rooms and I got the storage suggested. AVOID THIS COMPANY! The movers arrived late, barely talked to us, wouldn't bring any items upstairs, damaged our items, and refuses to reconcile these matters. My boyfriend had called this company to help with a last minute move, about 30 minutes away. They started off with a bad impression by arriving 20 minutes later than what was agreed. During the move, we noticed that their dolly and other supplies were dirty and were tracking mud and dirt throughout both places. After letting them know, they refused to bring any boxes upstairs at our new place. I have a disability which limits how much manual labor I can do at any given time, so this was very unfortunate. We then noticed that they had damaged our newly bought, $3k couch. When it was brought to their attention, they denied that it was them. The following day after the move, we were finally able to start unpacking further and move boxes around. After moving enough of the boxes to where they need to be, we noticed that another one of our large furniture pieces was completely broken. We called the company to let them know and they, again, tried to put the blame on us. The manager continuously said that it "must have already been broken" and wouldn't accept any other answer. She continued to also question "how it took us so long to realize it was broken".... it was less than 24 hours! They are still refusing to take accountability on anything and have been nothing but difficult. Movers are horrible and management is even worse. read more

So we just moved from SoCal to North Carolina one month ahead of what I originally planned. I had to move everything in a 3 bedroom townhouse that our family of four have lived in for 12 years all the way across the country. I did not have any expensive furniture, but I have an upright piano that was worth more than all of my furniture combined. I realized the a move like this is like running a raid in Destiny--it's very procedural and everyone has to do their job at the right time. Unlike a video game, if things go wrong here, there's no trying again. After a combination of asking friends who have done the same kind of move and digging around the internet, I had a ballpark figure about how much money I was going to have to pay for a move like this. When I started asking around here on Yelp, out of 4 companies, 2 of them didn't care to talk to me. One of them was responsive and honest, but their price was wayyy out of my budget. Nextgen was the only one that responded at a timely manner and gave me a no-bullshit quote. Kate (the office person) responded to all of my questions over Yelp prior to the move, and she always got back to me with in an hour or two. She assured me that it'll be fine when the day comes. She also said my stuff would arrive in 4 days. I was like, how do you go 3600+ miles in 4 days?! Well, we'll see. Moving Day: Kirill and his crew came with a minivan and the 26-foot truck. They did a walkthrough and figured out all the things being moved. They carefully wrapped all the furniture even when my furniture was not "nice furniture," and they took special care of that upright piano. They disassembled furniture when necessary. Somehow they managed to pack everything into the truck. They spoke Russian to each other, and I did not say this out loud, but you bet the music to Tetris was going through my head as they worked. 7 hours later, everything was in the truck with no room to spare. I paid half of the fee to Kate over Venmo and Paypal. Kirill put a lock on the truck, and Ahmed was handed the keys to the truck. With that, my house was on the road. 4 days later in North Carolina, I get a call from Ahmed saying that my stuff was here. Good lord, Kate was right. Did these people teleport?! Ahmed showed up at my house with all of my stuff and a local moving company. 4 hours later, everything was in my new house, and I was surrounded by a mountain of boxes. Amazingly, nothing broke, not even the glass front cabinets, which tells you how skilled Kirill and his LA crew was at wrapping my stuff. The local moving company was also quite careful with my stuff. There were a couple of minor dings and scratches on the front door, but that's to be expected. At the end of the day, I paid Kate the other half of the fee, and there was no bullshit extra fees that I did not know about. In fact, when I thought the whole move was done, Ahmed was the one who remembered that my TV was still next to his driver's seat! I actually forgot about my own TV! Thanks Ahmed!! All this is to say that if I have any other friends planning a long distance escape from LA, I will definitely recommend Nextgen to them. They are more expensive than doing the whole thing yourself with a Uhaul, but they are worth every dollar. read more

It is my duty to leave a review about my terrible experience w. Nextgen. Customer beware! If your valuables are important to you, please do not use this company! I hired them to move from San Diego to Arizona. I thought having the owner move my things was a good thing, but the move was was a nightmare! The owner was on his phone throughout the move and because of this, he was careless and all my 4 large 6 ft mirrors and picture frames weren't wrapped and all came tumbling down as they exit the elevator. My heart beated with fear and dissappointment as I assisted them throughout my move. I told him to wrap and he didn't listen and was so careless. the move was already a stressful situation and then to experience this I couldn't hold back my tears as I saw broken glasses and dented frame mirrors all over the floor. They not only broke my valuables, but the slow pace cause me an extra night I had to pay for a hotel. The damage and experience with Nextgen exceeds the cost 3x of what I paid their service. They have no insurance coverage and no sense of compassion of the terrible service they provided me. I paid them so I can receive my things and end the nightmare! Nextgen Moving was responsive with quotes and easy scheduling for an end of the month move. I had Leon and his team of 2 others help me with a move. They were friendly, efficient, and fast! I had a few paintings and picture frames still hanging on the walls and Leon was even kind enough to offer to take it down and pack it up for the move. I moved from a 2 story apartment to another 2 story apartment and had no complaints from the movers unlike a prior moving company that I used. Just had Nextgen move a piano for us. They were on time, super communicative, and very reasonably priced. They wrapped the piano and took extra care with it. They had to take two doors off and move a speaker to get the piano into the room needed; not only did they do that, but they put everything back just the way it was before.
