First time here was on my birthday. I sat at the bar, laughed and joked with the bartenders, and had an awesome time. I really could say anything I want in here and no one would be offended, cause it's all I'm good humor. The BBQ Ribs are very good, the chili is the best I've ever had, and the shrimp was very fresh. I Use to like going to Nicki's until they hired the worst waitress and human ever. Blonde curly haired chick that works there was rude and ignored my friends and I. She didn't seem to care about us being there at all. She was talking loudly to other coworkers being crude and swearing with kids in the restaurant. She was dressed very unprofessional. I would hope you would hire better employees to represent your business. read more

We love coming here! We have two toddlers and it's just a comfortable atmosphere for us with it being loud and fun.. on that note our kids make a mess when we go out its just a typical toddler thing to do...I have always made it a point to clean up there mess off the floor before leaving a restaurant, I understand the servers don't know that we do that but I was amazed at the dirty looks I got every time a server walked by us it made me feel uncomfortable and super judged.. but yes the food is always great and we love making a point to bring out of towners here read more

We came to Nicki's on a suggestion from someone at the THIRD place we had tried to go eat...WE SHOULD HAVE COME HERE FIRST!!!!! When we walked in we were greeted by two the nicest people I had ever met! They were welcoming and charming and so so helpful!! We had had a long couple of days and were finishing up our first trip to Washington...and Nicki's Bella Marina was the perfect way to end our trip. Their Teriyaki Burger was AMAZING!!!! I almost stole it from my hubby lol! Nicki's has the BEST teriyaki sauce I have ever tasted!! (They should bottle it and sell it! I'd have bought 3!) The fish and chips was insane! I have never had a bigger piece of fish...it was juicy with the perfect amount of crunchy coating!! Levey was the perfect server She was sweet, knowledgeable and just a beautiful soul!! We have eaten here a few times while down at the marina. The ambience is casual but it needs a good update or at the very least a good cleaning. Everything feels grimy and the walls are stained. The restrooms are particularly nasty. It's very warm inside, as if they have no air conditioning. Also the windows face south and when the sun hits them you are not only baked but blinded. As for the food, it's standard greasy spoon fare. I would recommend the fish & chips, mostly because of the portion size, it's huge. The burgers are also pretty good, gigantic 2/3 lb of meat. I'm not a fan of frozen steak fries though. I don't recommend the ribs or the steak and ribs combo. My husband got 4 tiny dried out ribs and a paper thin top sirloin that was way overcooked. Their margaritas were made with sour mix instead of lime juice, blech. In closing let me say this, if you order a beer and a hamburger or the fish & chips you will be fine but don't bother with the rest. read more

First and last trip to this place. Stopped in for lunch with my mom a d it turned into an al.ost 2hr ordeal. We ordered 1 round of drinks and had to hunt down our waitress for any other service. The "fish tacos" came out as a really gross fish burrito I couldn't even eat. I told the waitress and she offered to remove a beer from my tab. I barely touched the grossness my beer was just fine but she removed the $5 beer instead of the $18 nasty burrito. This was one of my favorite little places to eat, and previously I had given it many stars of love.... I have eaten here a great deal since my initial review in 2011, and today was the last time... the service has always been hit or miss, and the last few (read, many) times I have been here its been consistently crap. Today was the crappiest yet.... and my last time dining there... the waitress had attitude, and not cute.... "woo hoo Im a great waitress & Im gonna make your day" kinda attitude.... but crappy .... "OMG I cant believe I have to do this shit" so Im going to not give a damn, and don't expect any service or pleasantness...that's WAY too much to ask.... however I will start to be a tiny bit pleasant around the time Im bringing the check... transparent much? I watched one table across from us, sit... be brought water right away... and about 10+ min later after the other waitress never bothered to go back (no not even the same crap server we had, a different crap server) ...they simply got up and left. I should mention...the place was not busy... and I imagine its slowly going to keep getting more "not busy". To touch on the food, I decided to try the crispy chicken salad... it was close to $13.00 and was just some lettuce tossed into a tortilla bowl with a couple of slices of cucumber.... a sliced chicken breast on top..... I would of been very pleased with it if I had paid $5.95 for it as a grocery store plastic container to go salad, for $13.00 I got ripped off. I actually would of said something to the waitress, but that's hard to do when they never come back and go out of their way to avoid eye contact. But do you really want to deal with the BS associated with actually needing something in a place like this... I say... no, it isnt worth the grief. If that's the atmosphere the wait staff is trying to create, where they are such dicks that the customer would rather not deal with them... job done! (Since you wont see them again its a moot point anyway) Nikis offers bottomless fries with the burgers (that's what the other person had... well sort of, apparently cheese burgers do not actually have cheese on them at Nikis) but kind of hard to get more when the waitress never returns except to drop the check. FYI owner.... your staff doesn't give a shit, and is slowly killing your business, I vote with my $$$ and you'll be getting no more of mine and If I have anything to do with it I will try to save my friends from the annoyance that is eating in your restaurant. So as not to mislead anyone, Niki's is basically a waterfront bar. True, it has restaurant seating and bar seating, but it is mostly a bar. I've been here once for the bar and once for the restaurant. For both visits, I had no doubt (based on the drinks and food) that this was a bar. Nicki's overlooks Squalicum Marina and has a typical marina view, nice at sunset. It's been a few restaurants over the years, and appears to not have been updated much over that time. The carpet and wood furnishings work but will not be confused with more modern or updated decor. The drinks are fine, middle of the road. The food is okay, fried and simply prepared. The staff was friendly and helpful, though we did get better service when we sat in the restaurant seating as opposed to the bar. There are a lot of locals that come to Nicki's. I got the impression that crusty old guys at the bar were live aboards on nearby boats or associated, in some other way, with the adjacent marina. Want a casual drink and some appetizers with a view, wear your sweats and hoodie and head on down. read more

Okay, y'all. Let's get something straight about Nicki's: This is not a fancy date night place. This is a cheap drinks and fried food joint. If you don't want to be eating something cooked in oil, I'd recommend going somewhere else. That said, Nicki's is awesome. My favorite things: - The onion rings with house ranch dressing-- delicious beer batter, garlicky ranch. Noms. - Fish & Chips: A large serving of delicious fried fish. The chips? Meh, not my favorite. But the fish is really tasty (and so is the tartar, if you're into that sorta thing). - Deep Fried Twinkies. They exist here. - Inexpensive drinks and good happy hour prices. - Hot dogs as big as your face. - Sitting on the water and not having to spend $30 to do it. Waterfront dining isn't as common as it should be in Bellingham, and Nicki's is perhaps the most affordable option. This is a good hang-out with friends when you need to eat your feelings and wash 'em down with a cheap well drink. A Bellingham win in my book. read more

This restaurant is definitely a place to eat at if you're on a cheat day or want to enjoy your guilty pleasures. When you have something called a quadruple (triple?) bypass on the menu you know it's about to be unhealthy. Ive only had the burgers and sampled my friend's breaded fish but it seems like for the most part there's a lot of heavy food on the menu. So basically go if you want to eat a fat greasy burger. I like how it's tucked away and a good place to talk without a ton of background noise. In terms of service, it's decent, nothing special or over the top. I've been there about three times now and probably would only go at the very most once a month (I eat out nearly everyday) since I would probably increase my chances of heart disease by going any more. In summary food is decent, service is okay, and go if you feel like eating the most unhealthy thing in Bellingham. read more

The food was really good! We had clam strips, fish and chips and the pulled pork baked potato. Pretty overpriced, even considering the location. Probably at least $13 for a main entrée. However the appetizers are pretty big. Our big issue was with the service. We waiting at the front for a few minutes being ignored before the lady told us to "hold on, I have drinks and plates to serve" a few minutes later she sat us. She took our order, delivered our food and never returned to our table. We saw other wait staff visiting tables around us. Eventually we hunted her down so we could pay. read more

First the good: The view of the marina is nice. Parking is easy. The not so good: Sadly, the fish and chips have gone downhill and the price has gone up!! We ordered the fish and chips which is described as "2 very large pieces" for $16.99. I ordered one additional piece of fish for $7.00. Seemed reasonable for a large piece of fish, but it turned out to be half the size of the first 2 pieces. The breading was crisp and tasted good but was WAY too thick. Way more breading than fish. It used to be better. Oh and the service was poor. The waitress had no idea what a "set-up" was when we asked for 2 more and she disappeared after delivering our food. I even got up and walked around trying to find her as we needed more water. A good little place. They make the best fish burger I've ever had, although they just changed to kind of a hoagie sandwich? It's got one of the best views of any burger/family place around. I mean, right on the water. Where it lacks refinement, it makes up for it with genuine friendliness. Relatively kid friendly, too. My only complaint...the bar is right up against the dining area. First of all, this is not a "fancy" restaurant. We like the relaxed, welcoming, family vibe. It is an old school locals vibe. We have always had good service, food and drinks. We have even had burgers delivered by Uber Eats when wanted big sloppy burgers. Burgers delicious and plentiful choices. The ribs are a favorite of ours as well. The fish n chip are yum! We have noticed them shrinking some. But still big and good. The drinks are reasonably priced and certainly not weak. read more

Great view! Took my daughters and sat outside. Got a little toasty in the sun but loved it. One daughter had a build your own burger. Super messy so delish! With adding cheese, lettuce and tomato it was $8.99 without fries. Other girl got a plain Caesar salad. She liked it a lot. I got a a shrimp and bacon salad. It was odd... came in a taco salad shell??? Maybe 10 bay shrimp on it and I get the bacon came from the bottom of the bacon tray versus a fresh strip that was cut. No tomato or anything. I really want to give it more stars, because the food and location are great! The last 3 times I've been there the service has been very lacking. It's very slow, you rarely get your water refilled, and they never check on you. The last time I went I didn't even get a fork, our water was never refilled even when we asked, our order was wrong and we were there over an hour for a quick lunch. Even when we asked for our check it took another 15 minutes. The food is fresh and there are big portions, however it is expensive. $15 for a Burger! They say there's unlimited French fries but they never come back to check on you to refill your French fries and they never ask. The fish-and-chips is probably their specialty. It's very fresh and you get two very large pieces of fish. It's practically the whole fish! If they improved their service it would be an amazing spot! read more
