This place is great! My dad and I tried this a couple days ago when we needed to quick up a quick dinner. We shared a grande veggie burrito with avocado added, and a large salad, since we read about how big the burritos were. I am glad we shared, because that was plenty of food for both of us. I was pretty excited to finally try this place. The reviews are great. I had a steak and avocado sandwich, and it was ok, certainly didn't meet the expectations of other reviewers. The meat and bread were good, but they put on a bunch of cheap cheese that made the sandwich almost un-edible because of the high grease content. If they switched it up a bit and did good goat cheese or something the sandwich would have tasted much more sophisticated and less like diner food. Nicks Grill is one of my favorite places to eat. I've been coming here for a long time, 8 years now. Kiki, Nicks son, is so friendly and nice! He always remembers me every time I come in. He also knows my order, even when it's been a long time since I've been there. I live in seattle so I can't go as much as I'd like. People have this place to hyped up I think. I had the steak burrito and I liked it ina sense that the tortilla was crunchy and the cheese was melted well. However, they give you way more rice compared to meat... Where's the steak? Their spicy sauce is just a spicy sauce that you can get at grocery stores. Nothing special. Love everything about this place. The steak burritos are the bomb! The crispy tortilla is awesome and I love that they use basmati rice. Everything is seasoned really well. I get my steak burrito spicy with avocado, sour cream, and grilled onions. It's fun watching them line up the tortillas and build the burritos on the grill. They always play fun stuff on the TV from Netflix too. The employees are super friendly and hardworking and are nice and chatty with the patrons. Tried this place for the first time today. November 3 is National Sandwich Day! So of course I had to have a sandwich to celebrate. I had the steak sandwich and it was delicious. The potato salad is probably the best not-made-at-home potato salad I've ever had. The sandwich with two sides and a bottled lemonade came to $13. I've only been here once, but had a great experience. The brother and sister staff are the friendliest around. It's also hard to find gluten free food at a sandwich and burrito place, but they made me a custom plate of grilled chicken, rice, beans, and salad. It was excellent (seriously like the juiciest chicken EVER) and I had the biggest plate of food out of the five friends I went with, but actually got charged the least. My boyfriend LOVES burritos so I got us the grande steak burritos with sour cream, extra, extra, extra spicy. Service was great, food was great and high quality. We will be going back often, I know that I will be able to try everything on the menu. This place is small but awesome. I just found it on Yelp last week and I've already been there twice. So far I've only tried the steak burrito but if that is any indication of quality for the rest of the food, it's all good baby. Word of warning, if you get the burrito "spicy", it can get a bit drippy so it's not the greatest for eating on the go. The folks at the counter are friendly and know how to small talk. Like I said, it's a bit small but I only get take-out anyway so no biggie. It can also be a bit on the expensive side but the portions are pretty large. I just ate half of my steak burrito with medium heat and its true the taste is amazing! I just wish they would put more steak instead of overfilling it with rice and beans. Just a warning to those who decide to take it to go and eat while driving, I highly suggest you don't. Unbelievably popular little hole in the wall grill cooking up quality tex mex and burgers. Today I had a grilled porcini and onion cheese burger. The meat was cooked to a medium medium rare, usually too rare for my tastes but with all the fixings lettuce, bacon grilled onions, and that wonderfull freshly foraged wild mushroom (not on the menu) the texture in my mouth made it the perfectly cooked burger. This joint is so popular seats at time will be filled and you could expect to be table mates with locals and out of towners. The ingredients are freshly delivered and quantities kept low as to retain freshness, that it's common to run out of something. So come early. On this day the grill closed at 2pm, and somehow we scored the last 2 burgers 1/2 an hour to closing. In the 20 minutes ot took from ordering and finishing up the meal, 6 people came in having to be turned to other menu items. Our chef de cuisine Kiki was very personable and passionate at what he does. Humnle by nature but willing to accept a compliment despite his Aquarian influences. He seems to get a lot of regulars that he can greet them by name as they walk in. My suggestion is to walk up to the bar order your meal and strike up a conversation. read more
