My favorite breakfast place. My kids especially love the Nutella panckaes. You can't go wrong here!

Very good pancakes. Also had bacon and sausage. Food came out fast. Service was fantastic at bar.

We just stopped to have lunch and my wife I was so disappointed, I ordered a Ruben sandwich, it was bad enough I couldn't chew the corned beef but the whole sandwich was so saturated with grease it just fell apart in my hand, and I had to literally spit out the first bite of the sandwich, what a waste of money. read more

I wanted French Toast, eggs and bacon for breakfast. I searched locally since I was already in Milford.I was tempted to head to a cafe in New Haven, but decided to give Nick's a try. Let me tell you, I was not disappointed. Prior to entering, I was going to order take out. However, a sweet young lady greeted me at the door. Her temperament was so warm, I decided to stay. I knew what I wanted do when my waitress came, I gave her my order. Let me the tell you, as quick as I put in my order is how quick my omelette and French Toast platters came to my table. The serving was filling as I only ate half of everything, I enjoyed the thickness of the FT, not too sweet, the seasoning of the potatoes, crispy lean bacon strips, and my special made mushrooms, tomato, and spinach omelette. Sooo bad. I was going to share this sandwich with my mother but it just looked and smelled awful. She ate 2 bites and claimed to be full. Still simply- THE BEST. My husband and I would frequent their original location when we lived in CT, and we wanted to take a stop in on a road trip to check out their new location. If you want fantastic breakfast food, pleasant service, and a chill atmosphere. Come here. Even easier highway access now for those passing through, food is still on point, and your coffee mug never goes low. Great prices too! My husband and I had the steak and egg sandwhich, banana pancakes, coffee, and eggs with corned beef hash toast and home fries. It was around $20. Great place - stopped here off 95 instead of fast food. It was packed but I was served at counter quickly. Everyone seemed to know each. Was able to have an excellent health salad. It just seemed like a lovely community place out of the 1950's. read more

The food is just as good as it used to be at it's previous location. The new restaurant is four times the size it was with many more tables! The counter space is also very nice with many seats. This place was like a Nightmare today !!! Ordered A cheese omelet like i have in the pass,But there was no cheese in the middle like before,The place was busy ,And other people was having problems too, (3 guy having problem with there home fries) Is was hard to get waitress to come back over,but when she did she said she was sorry and would fix problem,so while waiting i did eat some fries that were with my meal,Well the plate with the same omelet arrive back with a piece of cheese on top alittle melted,and waitress told me they mix the cheese with the egg,Well that not the way i had it last time and when waitress came over you could see there was not cheese in with the egg,The worst part is nicks didnt even make the dish look better like most places by like adding some fresh fries or some new fresh hot rye toast,One thing i dont like is someone lying or making a story up ,I alway had cheese in the middle of my omelets at nicks and never not mixed in,And my quest had the meatloft sub it was overcook like it was 3 day ago and the person who made there sure needs learn how to cook and NOT overcook it and burn it and then cover it up with full oregano and salt....I would not eat this omelet when it came back,They took it off the bill,Then when i payed for the burned meat loaf sub ,I had to wait 10 mins because they didnt have change in the reg for my change....A female asked if i would give nicks another try ...she worked there....my answer is Never !!!! We discovered this restaurant on our way home from the Cape. We were hungry and tired, but this place helped to rejuvenate us. The staff is wonderful and the food is very good. I had the pastrami sandwich and it could not have been better. My partner had the chicken orzo soup and was very satisfied. I think that this will be a permanent start as we make our way to and from the Cape. read more

I have only had their food via delivery but it's always delicious and prepared as ordered. Basic egg sandwiches done perfectly, which is sadly rare. And their pancakes....so good, great flavor. I've gotten them plain and with peanut butter cups and neither disappointed. Ignore the Ch*ps hype, get your pancake fix here. read more

Because I am a finicky eater, I always give "my disclaimers" and special requests ahead of my order to give my server context in hopes of having the beat dining experience possible. I even ask for recommendations on what to have, because who's better to give that advice than the folks who work at the restaurant? I ordered the belgian waffle, with the fruit and whipped cream of course, real butter (not Oleo) and sugar-free syrup. Not only did the waffle come out cold, was overcooked and naked. I was fine to try to eat it anyways so I asked for the waffle to be heated up so I could butter it. Waitress obviously didn't agree with me wanting to be happy with the meal I'm paying for because she immediately becomes passive aggressive. Takes and returns my plate with the waffle same temperature, still hard as the plate it's on, as opposed to making me a fresh one as most establishments would have. Sugar-free syrup never makes it to the table. Server never asks if the second plate is satisfactory, avoids so much as glancing my way while delivering fresh hot food to surrounding tables. So basically even if it did come back hot, would have gotten cold waiting for her to bring me the syrup I asked for. When I asked to have the waffle removed (because who's eating a cold overcooked dry waffle??), she walks away in a huff. Her manager is no better. Obviously biased by the server's account of what transpired, instead of hearing what my issue is, she's combative and condescending. Thankfully I had friends at the table to corroborate what I was saying. Not that I needed backup, because I can afford a friggin' waffle. But would have been a whole ordeal simply because this restaurant doesn't appear to have any interest in giving good service. Someone obviously needs to advise the owners and staff of Nick's that the customer experience is paramount. While I don't subscribe unconditionally to "the customer is always right", I do believe that a business should attempt to satisfactorily resolve such minor issues as the one I had without such piss poor beside manner. We had a table full of food, I wasn't trying to get off without paying. I just prefer to eat fresh, hot food served by someone who appreciates my patronage when I'm at a restaurant. Needless to say, was my first and LAST time here. The "no public bathroom" sign on the way out just sealed the deal for me. I sit down and have a whole meal in your establishment and can't go to the bathroom while I'm there? I'm good. Service was very attentive and we enjoyed extra servings of coffee. The food was not good. I had gyro omelet and it was supposed to have tomatoes and onions too, but i did not taste the tomatoes. Home fries were terrible - too salty and terrible texture. I would not recommend ordering that. This is a great local breakfast/lunch place. Upon entering, you can see how great the staff are. Nick and his staff know 99% of the people entering the luncheonette. They know a lot about each guest and spend time getting to learn about the new ones (like myself) The food is reasonably priced and very good. The home fries and pancakes were great. I never write reviews but had to after breakfast today. The service was terrible. If the waitress spent more time paying attention to her job and less time on her phone texting I wouldn't be writing this. Waited 10 minutes before she came over and gave me a menu, never checked on my meal, never asked if I needed a refill on coffee, as a matter of fact she never came back after delivering my food. Hands down one of the best breakfast spots in Connecticut! My wife and I have come here countless times. We've tried the apple cinnamon and also Reese's pancakes, french toast, poppy seed horns, home fries; everything here hits the nail on the head. Definitely a cozy environment as well. We honestly have tried so many options here on the menu and lunch items on occasion and have loved just about everything. Nick and Irene are also the sweetest owners, not many owners are the face of their restaurant working day in and day out. Favorite place to go and the french toast is out of this world. Everything you want in a breakfast place. Friendly staff, quick service, good selection and excellent quality and portions of food. Omelette had plenty of cheese and fillings. Home fries are the best I've had in a very long time. My son had chocolate chip pancakes, plenty of chocolate chips and he said they were amazing.
