Kristen was Amazing! I spend an entire day driving from one Mini dealer to the next in the Bay Area. Niello had the best selection in my price range (with no pressure for me to upgrade). I went home last week with a really sporty 2011 hardtop, great little car. A sensor light came on the next morning. I called Kristen, she scheduled a driver to drive the long distance to my house (I'm in Oakland) with a new S model loaner car, and to drive my little car back to Niello for repairs. Over the course of the day, I decided I wanted to return the little 2011 car for an upgrade. Once again their customer service is horrific! I bought my car in Jan and have had nothing but terrible attitudes and help! I set appointment to get oil change they switch to a brake flush. I go to start my car yesterday and it won't start. You buy the extra roadside and call to ask dealership to help and you get attitude from Stephanie telling you that get your car towed two hours away or the next available appointment is Oct 5. This leave a customer with no car and no solution. She then laughs it off like not her problem. Then "David" comes on to try and help which does nothing but do the same of condescend and talk down. My first time going to the dealership since they officially merged with BMW. Masks are definitely not enforced here. I was ignored for over an hour past my appointment time while everyone around me gets an update every 30 mins or so. Instead of being called on, they just sent me a text to find a service advisor to check in "if [I] haven't left yet". I understand that it's mostly old rich people here but I don't understand why they would discriminate if I clearly have a car from the dealership. The good: I got a good deal on a trade-in vehicle that was sold at this dealership. Eddie, my sales guy, was fantastic. Very easy-going, honest, and personable. The bad: Once we had agreed on a sales price, we were led to Jermaine in the finance department. Jermaine was dishonest and passive-aggressive in trying to sell us a car loan and an extended warranty. We had read on consumer reports that extended warranties are usually a bad deal, so we declined Jermaine's offer for an extended warranty. He responded in a offended tone, "OK, if you want to trust the internet instead of me." When he made a slightly better offer for an extended warranty, he said "If you don't want to save any money, it's your choice." We knew from consumer reports that an extended warranty for $1.7k doesn't save us money on a reliable vehicle, so unless Jermaine didn't know that his extended warranty would not save us money in all likelihood, he was lying to us. When we wanted to read the fine print of the sales contract as this was our first car purchase at a dealership, he moved around in his chair impatiently. When we were done, he didn't thank us for our time or even said good-bye to us. I think it's OK that dealerships try to make some extra money by offering extended warranties, but I don't think it's OK if they get passive-aggressive and dishonest about pressuring the informed buyer into buying products they don't need. *update 9/22 The sales manager Jerry gave me a phone call to sincerely apologize for what happened and describe how they hope to improve. Even though I might have caught Jermaine on a bad day, they seem like they are one of the better dealerships out there and try to improve based on customer feedback. read more

Caution don't go here... If you own a used Mini I would not go here to have it serviced I just recently purchased a used 08 Mini my heater was not working correctly so I called they said they could do a diagnostic for $80 so I took it in they called me a couple hours later and said they couldn't find the problem but if I want to pay $1000 they probably could find the problem but that my repairs were probably going to run in the high $3000 and they had found over $8000 of repairs.... I picked my car up and I paid $80 (for nothing considering they didn't even diagnose the problem that I went there for) I was looking at the repairs that they told me I needed I would say 90% of them were cosmetic I was completely put off so I called another mechanic thank god for A&B German car care they were able to repair my heater for $150 read more

I purchased a 2006 MINI Cooper S there two days ago. The overall experience was great...Kevin Powell was the one who helped me out. I brought along my wild 2 year old for this experience, and he was nice enough to keep her amused with coloring books, MINI toy cars and the best bribery tool of all for a 2 year old...candy! Niello MINI is a place I really enjoy going to - (but their cars are so well made I rarely have to!). From the day I first looked at MINI's there after I decided to buy one, to today: - , the MINI salesman was friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable, but never pushy or intrusive. He waited nearby, made cars available for test drives, answered my questions, helped me find those on the lot which matched my criteria, and even allowed me to bring my large dog over to inspect the one I chose! He then negotiated with the sales manager and was able to work out a deal for the figure I requested, even though it was well below sticker price - the MINI finance guy who went over all the paperwork with me involved in the car purchase was also friendly and knowledgeable, answering all my questions, explainiing my choices and requirements thoroughly in as much detail as I desired. - While I was sitting in his office I realized that I had not minded spending an entire afternoon there because the atmosphere at the dealership was so pleasant and upbeat, and yet calm and smooth sailing. The employees each seemed to be enjoying doing their jobs! And it was then that I found out why - almost all the employees drive MINI's themselves. They do not have to fake their optimism about the cars they work with. And it is a very well run store. Management seems to have insight into what employees need and want, because I have seen the same faces there for the 5 years I have been going there. - . Nothing is hidden - the mechanics shop is behind a thick glass wall which faces the customer waiting area so you can watch them working on the cars. The shop is spotlessly clean and meticulously well organized. On the rare occasion I want more information about my car than the service advisor provided, he asked the mechanic who worked on it to talk to me. The mechanics are thoughtful, careful people who take pride in their work and I trust my car with them - even though I used to be a dealership mechanic myself (for a very different kind of car) decades ago.. - From the parts department to the person who handles the loaner cars, everyone wants the customer to be satisfied and is a pleasure to work with. The dealership tries to keep you with the service advisor you have deallt with previously so you see someone you know and come to trust. And they are competent, caring people who try to make sure you always know what your car currently needs, will need soon in the future, if they can help save you money, and so on. The lady who handles the loaner cars does her best to match the available cars with the customers, and I enjoy comparing my car with the other ones I try. The people in the parts department sent me to a particular business nearby for a product they do not sell, and went through all their catalogs to make sure I had all the options available for other parts they did sell. Everyone took the time to assist me, not as though I was interrupting them from doing their work - as has been the attitude at some other dealerships - but because assisting me is their work. - On the one occasion early on in my relationship with the dealership when their was a communication snafu and I was not pleased about the amount of time my car was unexpectedly held up, the manager personally apologized to me, asked if there was anything they could do to make up for it (they had provided me with a loaner car, but I normally drive accompanied by dogs - who are not allowed in loaner cars, and I do farm errands in my car which I was concerned to do in the loaner car), and on my next few visits to Niello MINI she made a point of talking to me and making sure I was satisfied with my subsequent experiences at the dealership, as well as providing me with contact information and requesting that I let her know if at any time I was dissatisfied again. - If your car is being worked on, even for a short time, you can either take a loaner car or use the van service which will drop you off at the Arden Fair Mall or other places. You are also welcome to stay and watch your car through the glass wall, plug in your electronic devices and use their tables and chairs or couch, and use their coffee maker, bottled water, and even some food items while you stay there. Also, they have an online appointment menu which works well. I believe that all I have written about expresses why Niello MINI deserves 5 stars! read more

I made a reservation, dropped off my car and was offered free water and snacks. the waiting area is very comfy and has a bunch of couches and magazines. If you choose not to stay there they will arrange for you to be driven somewhere, for free, and be picked up that is within a certain mile radius. I decided to go to the mall. We found a Prius V online at Neillo Mini that had come in as a trade in. It was over our budget, but we wanted to talk with them to see if there was any wiggle room with it. We made our out-the-door budget very clear upon walking in, and they assured us that it was reasonable and they were sure we could "work something out". We test drove the Prius V and got back to the dealership and wanted to talk about a final price before deciding if we wanted to purchase it or not. They made us do a FULL CREDIT APPLICATION including ALL OF OUR INFORMATION, including our SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBERS, even though we had FINANCING THROUGH A DIFFERENT BANK -- BEFORE KNOWING THE FINAL PRICE! We insisted that we didn't want to do this, since we hadn't decided on if we were going to purchase or not, since we didn't know a price, and we didn't feel comfortable sharing that information unless we decided to purchase. They told us it would "make things easier on the back end" if we did decide to purchase. After collecting all of our information, against our best judgement, they only came down on the price about $200. After we insisted that was still over our budget (which was the same as we told them when we walked in), they brought out another sales associate as the "bad cop" to give us a lecture about how we don't understand the car buying industry and we were being cheap. Needless to say, we left extremely mad. We came to buy a car, not to have our information taken for marketing purposes (which they SHARE with ALL Neillo dealerships - and have already called us!), and not to get a condescending lecture from. Even if we wanted that car and were willing to up our budget, we wouldn't have bought from them. I can honestly say they will never have our business, and I will warn anyone who considers them. read more

I got stuck after losing my lug nuts lock key... long story short if that ever happens to you and you have a flat, just tow it to Mini... no one can take those things off, it's super hard to just eyeball the key... I went here to buy my first car. The first couple times I came in the workers were very rude and seemed to not care if I bought a car or not. But I came in again and salesman Jason helped me find a car. It wasn't quite on the market yet but he had me test drive a same year mini and than he found a way to let me test drive the one I wanted! I bought the car before it was waxed but already past it's tests so while buying it he got it cleaned for me! The place ended up closing for the night so he made sure to schedule me an appointment for a couple days after to get it cleaned. The appointment some how didn't go through so him and Jose called a waxer & someone to fix my windshield over, they even offered to get me a shuttle back home! These boys were extremely nice & helpful ,mostly since it's my first car purchase I was clueless, but they made it easy! However, the other salesmen were extremely rude the other days I came which is why I didn't buy a car at first. When I came into mini the third time to get it waxed, the non-sales men at the desk who make appointments (older lady & older man) were very rude. This place is great to come to for service and deals but most of the salesmen and workers are rude and make it hard to want to purchase. read more

I have purchased many cars in the past from many different car dealerships and had come to believe that the norm was to have pushy salesmen who are just interested in making an extra buck. However, Niello Mini in Sacramento changed every single stereotype I had created over the years. This is the first dealership that I feel truly cares about the people who visit them. They aren't pushy or trying to sell people cars that simply don't work for them financially. For me personally, I was interested in possibly getting a manual transmission car (which I hadn't attempted to drive in almost 15 years). Kevin Powell took the time to actually reteach me to drive a stick shift! He was so patient with me and didn't try to push the sale on me when I was done driving. He made such an impression on both me and my husband that although the original answer was to pass on the car that we came back first thing the next morning and bought it. Even Craig over in the finance department blew me away with his customer service. I've never experienced a finance rep who didn't try to just sell the customers random options that didn't make sense for them. However, Craig really took the time to explain our different options in terms of maintenance packages so we fully understood everything (even when we asked the same questions over and over) and didn't try to push anything on us. read more

Do NOT buy a car from Niello MINI. I bought a car from them in 2016 and sold it Feb of 2021. I have received many phone calls and e-mails from them trying to buy the car that I no longer own. I have told them 6 times that I do NOT own the vehicle any longer. They told me months ago that they would remove me from their marketing list. However, they continue to send harassing e-mails. Best experience buying a car ever! They were honest which is rare for a car company, and very sweet. I was on the fence with a car and the sales manager made me take the car home for a few hours, drive it around and think on it. When I came back he offered me pizza that he had bought for his employees, knowing I was hungry. My car was sold to me under false pretenses from another company and he showed me the truth and seeing how upset I was did everything they could to get me the best price. Even when another company offered me more I stuck with them because they had exceptional customer service. Stick with these guys, they know what they are doing! October 5, 2019: While in the market for 2-Mini's (JCW and Countryman S), my wife and I decided to visit Niello Mini, located at 3210 Auburn Blvd, Sacramento, CA. We saw a 2019 (like New, and PARKED among other similar Countryman models for sale) Countryman S, loaded with all of the features she desired. Our salesperson, advised that we take a test-drive, since we were not familiar with this specific model. After securing the keys, we were off. Within minutes during the test-drive we informed our sales advisor that this was the vehicle she wanted. Upon our return to the dealership, another sales associate approached our associate, and informed him that OUR vehicle was being sold to another customer. Our associate, was young and inexperienced, and could offer No explanation, as to how this could occur. We requested to speak to whom ever was in charge, in an attempt to resolve this issue. Ivan, seemingly reluctant, (based upon my having to insist, on talking to the sales manager) introduced us to Gary Harmon, the Sales Manager. As bad as the initial shock of having OUR vehicle sold, from under us, our meeting with Mr. Harmon was worse...much worse! After I explained in GREAT detail, what had occurred, and that under the circumstances, this was completely unprofessional, and unacceptable. Mr. Harmon, appeared to be aloof, unconcerned, and markedly agitated, by my insistence, and persistence, that he intervene, address, and correct this abhorrent mistake. Mr. Harmon, did not offer ANY solutions. In fact, he attempted to justify what had happen, he stated "this happens all-of-the-time", and that "I don't have a problem with what happen, the other customer had been here for over 3-hours, she was undecided". Because of his nonsensical response, I asked again for clarity...Is it standard practice for your dealership, to allow another customer to TEST-DRIVE the SAME vehicle which is currently under contract? Mr. Harmon, replied, YES! I reiterated my concerns, and asked Mr. Harmon, did he have a problem with what had happened, given all of the circumstances, (we were in possession of the vehicle, and we had the keys) and once again, he gave a caviler, nonchalant response, "No, I don't have a problem with it, and I wouldn't change anything". He was condescending, arrogant, disrespectful, and totally unprofessional. In my 40-plus years of purchasing vehicles, I had never had a vehicle SOLD, while I was test driving SAID vehicle. Mr. Harmon, reiterated "this happens all of the time". How is it, that a Manager is "justifying" correctable, and completely avoidable mistakes, resulting in customer's anguish, frustration, and most importantly, a complete waste of time! At this point, I realized that all of my efforts to reach an amicable agreement, or even a level of understanding, and acknowledgement of mistakes made by Niello MINI, were in vain, and futile. We fully understand that mistakes happen, however, acknowledging the mistake, goes a long way in ensuring that it doesn't happen again, and again. Mr. Harmon, never uttered the words...I'm sorry, nor did he offer an apology. He didn't take ANY responsibility as to what happened. And he failed to offer any other viable solutions, such as, searching for a similarly equipped Countryman S. If you decide to buy a MINI from Niello, AVOID Mr. Harmon, at ALL-costs. He is extremely arrogant, rude, condescending, incompetent, and unprofessional. Fortunately, we were able to find the vehicles, and the level of (outstanding) customer service that we expect, and deserve, from one of your competitors, Mini of Concord. In fact, we purchased 2-Mini Cooper vehicles on the same day, a New 2019 Countryman S, for my wife, and a New 2019 Mini Hardtop S for myself. In the end, this issue is much more important than the vehicle that was sold from under us, it's about the abhorrent display of arrogance, disrespect, and unprofessionalism, displayed by your Sales Manager! read more
