Placed an order for takeout Sunday night. We ordered the crunch salmon roll, Sapporo roll, Kamikaze roll, and the Fuji roll. However when we got our food, one of the rolls is definitely not what we ordered. It wasn't even fish inside, was ground up beef or pork. Our family of four each tried a piece each and didn't want to finish the rest. Was pretty disappointed. The rest of the rolls were pretty good, but not sure if we'll come back again. Came here for a quick lunch with a coworker. There are a lot of lunch special options with good portions and good prices. I got the sushi combo and can't say I'm too impressed with the sushi. The rice was not fresh. Cold and hard rice is always a let down and somehow makes the fish on top not appetizing too. Ive gotten sushi rolls here before and had a better time. Although I was being careful to hold it. When I opened the plate there was sooo much juice, which of course it spilled out. We called them back and they wanted us to drive back to get the order or our refund! The rolls here are BOGO 50% off, and they're huge! If you're looking to get a CA Roll for a kid, I think it's better to just get a caterpillar roll or something as part of the BOGO 50%. I preferred the Genki Roll over the Fuji Roll, possibly because of the dressing they drizzle on top of the salmon. This is mainly for their horrible customer service. I ordered to go sushi and found that it was missing half a roll when I got home. They told me to bring it back to show them in order to fix this issue. Not gonna waste time to do this as the whole purpose in getting food was to bring home back food with my 2 little ones and my friend with her little one on a play date. When I didn't agree to that, they stated that most restaurants would ask for that to be done (which was never in my experience). I walked in today to grab lunch from there. I asked the lady if she had a menu so I can look at it. She pointed to some taped advertisement at the counter and said this is what we have for to go. First this is not good customer service when a customer asked you for a menu and instead you direct them to some worm advertisement. Anyway: I ordered the beef and didn't want any rice so she offered me veggies instead. I asked if she can substitute salad but she said NO. she said I'll be right back. 2 minutes later, she comes back with my food. I liked that there were many "No rice sushi" options, which was a plus for me and others who are in a low-carb diet. Food: (4/5) The garlic edamame and the blossom platter were ordered for appetizers. The edamame did not disappoint! It was drenched in garlic (my fave) so I liked it a lot. The blossom platter had a variety of sashimi on top -- tuna, albacore, and salmon -- with imitation crab. This dish was very fresh and was a perfect serving for an appetizer. I ordered the crunchy salmon roll with no rice. Unfortunately, they forgot the salmon part for my roll (which was the most important ingredient!! Lol) I brought it up to the server and they were nice enough to make me another full roll, for FREE! I don't usually drag restaurants unless they are deserving... but I feel this meets the criteria. A few months back my family and I went here for a birthday lunch. Much to our horror, after eating some of our meal I noticed live LIVE MAGGOTS in the siracha bottle... the same siracha we had all been putting on our sushi and mixed in our wasabi/soy sauce trays. in other words we had already eaten from this disgusting bottle. When I noticed the server, they said sorry, took the bottle and cam back with another new unopened bottle. Some of us braved through the rest of the meal but for the most part, our appetite was gone. I would have let this slide had the server comped something.... ANYTHING.... Nope... Full price bill given to us at the end of the meal. We were lucky to get a table before an endless stream of people came walking in. Perhaps it's because of the long weekend. After placing our order, it took over half an hour to get our food. We ordered a combo of sushi and sashimi and a couple of udon with katsu. If I was rating based solely on food it would be more stars. The salad that came with the katsu was awesome. Portions are huge. You have to add $1 after 3pm for the specials though. The sushi rice was just right and and fish was pretty fresh. The katsu was absolutely well done. You can tell the oil is fresh and the coating is just right. They were super crispy. The portions for the udon in particular was small. They charged $1 for green tea which they took a long time to refill. Not sure if it's because they're understaffed for the long weekend but a lot of people were getting upset at the wait. read more
