I had a great experience at this salon. Mimi took great care of my hair. I originally went in for an all over hair coloring because I'm getting a few grays now. She said that most people will be happy to overcharge and suggest more than necessary. She said my hair is still mostly colored and because I only needed a few hairs touched up, she recommended a color refresh. I was in and out of there in about an hour. My hair was beautifully vibrant and shiny when I left. I highly recommend coming here and will be back for my next touch up. read more

I called Nina about giving her another chance and she said she needed me to remove the negative rating on Yelp. I removed the negative rating however she will not respond so I have found another salon. There are many salons around! If her Salon was really good her service would stand on its own. The experience with the fungus with Pearle (her relative) was horrible and I'm still dealing with it 6 months later going to a Podiatrist. She should be shut down. Nina has been doing my hair for approximately 7 years now, and she is a hair magician! She can take the worst hair and find a solution to make it gorgeous! She does my color (covers my gray), my style, and she applies, removes, and cares for my hair extensions when I have them in. Whenever she does my hair, it ends up looking gorgeous! Nina actually cares about your hair, and she won't perform a service if she feels it will cause harm to your hair because it isn't healthy enough. But she really knows her stuff, and the end result is always amazing! And if something isn't right in her salon or a customer isn't happy for some reason, Nina will do what it takes to make it right! I don't think that it's fair to write Yelp reviews based on personal feelings instead of the professional service. Additionally, it's not ok to post a negative review about her husband's business here - he has nothing to do with her salon, and his business is his business. And frankly, I've never had anything but excellent experiences with ACCU Auto Service - they are incredible. And regarding Nina, in all of my experience, I have never observed any time that Nina has been anything but professional and kind. Nina is far from rude - quite the opposite. She treats all of her clients with respect and dignity. And she is definitely not just in business for the money. She truly loves her craft and she cares about her clients. But like so many small business owners, the Coronavirus pandemic has been extremely difficult on Nina, as she has been forced to close her business completely for now. It isn't great for me either, since my hair is suffering without her magic to transform it. But I know that as soon as she is open for business again, she will be making my hair - and all of her other clients as well - beautiful again! Do me a favor and just don't. I was desperate to get my grays covered properly after 3 months of Covid and box color. I saw that this salon was open so I took a chance. Major regrets. 1) Mimi was friendly but had no idea what she was doing - I asked her to "pull some dark from the roots down to help even out my light ends" and this resulted in her covering my entire head of hair ‍by the time I looked up it was too late! 2) when she was almost done blow drying I asked, "Is my hair black?" She laughed and said it was dark brown and would lighten over time. My friends that night commented on my BLACK hair (and... Well my tub was filled with black dye the next two washes - strange and has never happened to me before). 3) I got charged $70 for color and $35 for a trim that took 20 seconds...it was pretty obvious that I wasn't happy. I will never get my two hours back or my $105 for ugly hair that i never asked for. Plus the color was obviously crap quality !! 4)my son was floored when he saw me. This is probably one of only two yelp reviews I've done in my life so far. I can't say enough about Nina. I had a horrible week this past week...bad news after bad news. I forgot about my hair appointment with her today and Nina fit me in anyway. Not only did I get an amazing haircut but she lifted my spirits. For years I have been going to Nina exclusively along with my neighbor and friend who has since died. We went to her because she does an excellent job but she also cares about her clients. She always tries to accommodate them...going the extra mile. For example, she showed great compassion and understanding when my friend gradually weakened by helping me to get her back to the car. They're great for haircuts, not so much for dyeing hair. I wanted to dye my hair, ombre style. And I thought about coming into this place because they know how to cut my hair well. I showed them the picture of how I wanted it to look. The lady, I'm pretty sure it was Nina, said that she'd done it before and that they could do it. She showed the picture to the guy and he didn't ask questions about it. During the process of bleaching my hair, the guys asked me if i wanted to add any dark red/brown tones to it...he said it would look better and that it would just be a little bit. Of course I said yes, which I quickly regretted, and let him color it. While he was adding the color to my hair, Nina came up to him and I could just tell she was kinda worried. But they both kept telling me that it's going to look good and blah blah blah. So after he rinsed the dye out, i finally saw what the color was & i was mortified. It was NOT at all like the picture looked, and doesn't even look like ombre. It looks more like color blocking: 1/3 of my head was the natural color and the rest of it was one color. Obviously I was shocked and distraught, and Nina kept trying to comfort me by telling me that it'll fade over time, it's the new style, and it will look like the picture (which is a total lie...). So I left the salon unsatisfied. I felt like i was lied to about my hair; i know that they were trying to cheer me up but if they stuck to what I wanted it to look, I would've been fine. Probably in the course of three weeks, I'll either dye darker or try to touch it up somewhere else (even if it means paying a lot more); so much for taking a risk :/ read more

I have been going to Nina for 6 years now. I have some major long, thick, curly hair and nina always takes on the challenge! She never fails me when i go to get my hair dyed. Definitely takes more color than an average person needs but she is amazing! Also, she cuts my hair EXACTLY how i want it everytime! With most hair dressers i tell the 2 inches. It always seems like they will add 3 and times 7 and cut that much off! With nina, i say 2 inches, she cuts off 2 inches. I usually walk in and ask for Richard, but if he's not available, I feel confident with all of the stylists and I always leave with a haircut that I'm happy with. I saw Nina for the first time today. I am an 'old' lady...and sort of afraid of major changes..so when I saw my dyed brown hair looking orange I guess I sort of didn't know what to do or say. I hoped it would be platinum blond to conceal the new gray growth. Nina made all sorts of suggestions and was so eager to help and make me happy. She did a FABULOUS cut (and I am picky about cuts) and a blow dry. Now after a few hours of getting used to my new look, I really like it. After she dried it the color is no longer orange.
