bought the hose with these guys gauranteed infestation free well it wasn't evidently wood rot repair was not done properly after many complaints they sent Ricardo out who found more unprepared damage and repaired it since they sold us a continuing yearly warranty. After many treatment of orange oil which didn't work they wanted to tent which would cost over $1200 because it was infested with termites in multiple locations. This is after two years of them treating them. So my complaint is with the owner and he refused to return my calls and of course would not talk to me when i called. so i got Mariners Pest control who took care of the whole house which better non tenting approach. One star is for Ricardo the only star in that place. read more

We discovered termites in a 3x12x2 outdoor cabinet. We hired Nix Termite to kill the termites and repair the termite damage. Nix killed the termites. But Nix botched the repair. December's rain delaminated Nix's new plywood doors. Nix used two six-foot sections of countertop to replace the original one-piece top; and rainwater seeped between the two pieces at the seam, damaging the underlying material. In early January, Nix said it would redo the repair. Three months have passed, and no work has been done. Today I'm going to look for someone else to replace the doors and countertop. read more

I was originally going to go with one of the other places in town on the recommendation of friends, but thought it would be great to support a local business. Kind of sorry that I did. The tenting itself was fine, but their communication wasn't the greatest, and I wish I had known that they don't do their own work. The day of the tenting, some third party contractor showed up (late, and without any call) and tented the house. The other communication issues were things that I'd think were fairly basic - when we signed the contract and chose the date, my wife had to specifically ask if there were any bags we could throw our items in. After asking, they handed us a bunch of plastic bags, but we wouldn't have gotten anything had we not thought to ask. We also had no one follow up to spot treat around the house - our fence, for example - or to help assess any structural damage that may have occurred. These are things we were told by friends that termite companies normally do. So the bottom line is that the company wasn't terrible, but I hated that they're not doing the actual work themselves, and wish they had been more detail oriented when it came to our tenting and communicating things to us. I'll definitely use one of the bigger local shops next time. read more

I'm a Realtor with Pacific Sotheby's Realty and I've recommended my clients use Nix through transactions. They've been very prompt, honest, fairly priced and efficient with all the inspections thus far. The last job I gave them we had some issues come up when the tent was removed. The HOA president was walking by when the tent was removed and he said he heard tiles break. I called Chris the owner and reported this to him and he sent a roofer out to count the tiles at no cost and the roofer found 7 broken tiles. The seller unfortunately hadn't purchased the roof insurance so were so concerned as to how this would all pan out as the escrow closing seemed to hinge on this item. Chris and Veronica talked about it and even though the tiles may have been broken before the tenting since there was no way of verifying that... they still offered to take care of it... but going forward the sellers would need to purchase the roof insurance as they count the tiles before and after the tenting. Apparently, it's very challenging to remove a tent without breaking any tiles as the tent weighs 100-150lbs and when you add the person's weight to it... that just causes it to be more weighted. I'm happy to say the day the roofer was out replacing the tiles I was at the house watching the good deed all unfold. It was refreshing to see the promise they made to correct an issue with my very own eyes. There are so many companies that over promise and under deliver. My 5 stars is more on how they handled an issue and corrected vs the fact that the job did or didn't get done perfectly the first time. We are all human and there's no way Chris or Veronica can hover over their contractors to see how they are doing their jobs. My only recommendation would be that Chris or Veronica speak to the person who removed the tent because I totally understand the tent is heavy.. however the HOA president mentioned the tent was being pulled off and that the roof was being walked on sideways which is from what I understand is not the best practice when the roof is tiled. I will continue to use them and advise clients to purchase the roof insurance... and will also be watchful as to if there are any patterns with the contractors to see if there are consistent issues that arise... and will post a new review if that were to occur. We didn't actually use the service but we definitely will when we need to. I thought for sure we had active termites so I called Nix because they advertise a free inspection and estimate. The tech who showed up did a very thorough job searching inside and outside of our house and determined that what we were seeing was actually old droppings coming through some cracks around the window frame and door. Our house was treated for termites by another company when we purchased it almost 3 years ago. He gave us advice on sealing up the cracks inside and out and told us we should be good for a few more years. Our thought is that if this company wanted to take advantage of us and sell us on treatment or preventive maintenance they totally could have tried, but they never did anything even close to that, so that's why when we need them in the future they will definitely get our business. read more

I've used Nix Termite for years. Everybody that shows up at my door is always kind, courteous and very professional. I'm writing this review because of an experience that I went through that showed me that this is a company that cares about the customer. I had recently developed a leak in my family room that ruined the flooring in my house. I instinctively looked up about four companies to see what can be done and how much it would cost. Many of them charged me for coming out and looking at the problem. Everyone of them wanted thousands of dollars to fix it. I was depressed at the cost of this but I knew my family and myself could not function with no water in the house. I was looking for any other contractors from cards I've kept in the past and I came across my Nix termite card and saw they were also general contractors. I called them. Once again, they were professional, courteous and did not charge me a fee for looking at it. They located the leak that was underground by some type of sonar machine, came in with a jackhammer, and burrowed down where the leak was. They fixed it and the cost was thousands of dollars less. We requested a VA refinance inspection and it turned out we had some damage on our patio area, balcony and some in the attic. We had a previous inspection a few weeks prior to that from our residential association and they did not find anything (liars). Inspector walk us through the damage and reparations needed to be done. We arrange for them to come and do the work needed for the VA report. Arnoldo was the one in charge of repairing damage; he was super courteous and hard working, and repairs were from quality materials and labor was impeccable. Arnoldo walk us through the reparations asking for our input; in case we weren't satisfied. Jeremy did the treatment and we weren't disappointed. He worked efficiently and was super courteous as well. Jeremy also let us know every step of the treatment. We are overall super happy! We recommend this company!
