Arnoldo came out to replace and repair some damaged wood 2 stories high, then paint over it, and he did more than was required to make sure that it didn't just look like a patch job. He explained what he was doing, what he was using, and let me examine a piece of damaged wood. He also walked around the house with me as we looked at what plant life might be affected by the tenting to come. We also looked for serious stucco cracks for repair ... I sure am glad Nix sent him to help me! I've sold my house and won't be around for the tenting to review that portion. But Nix did work quickly with the escrow company so the $3000 cost will be deducted from my equity and will not delay our closing date. The only negative thus far was I wish the termite inspector would have taken pictures to show me what he found rather than leave me wondering and looking around the attic and elsewhere for termite damage I had not seen. Whatever I breathed in my attic by being up there so long hurt my lungs. read more

Don't usually write reviews but this company is honest and trustworthy! I had a company come out and give me an inspection and said he would "do me a favor" and save me on cost and not include all the damage he found. Estimate came in at $2700. Really ?? And that doesn't include everything? First off, I wanted to get all the damage repaired? Now I didn't trust them!! So I called Nix Termite. They documented ALL the damage and estimate was $1700!!! $1000 cheaper AND all the damage was documented!! They were here for 2 days and did an amazing job! He determined the termites were not active but if they showed up again he left me his card, information and went through my condos options for what to do. I guess the job was done okay and time will tell. Nix expects you to go through the paperwork they provide and understand everything. A few suggestions for people who are getting their homes fumigated. 1. SDGE requires 3 ft clearance around the gas meter. They will refuse to turn it off and you should get a confirmation from Nix even if they do not mention it. 2. Ask them to notify you as soon as the fumigation is done and when you can enter the house. They did not in my case. 3. They sub contract out the actual fumigation to another company and also there is a 4 hour window for actual time to setup tent. Also they can be careless with your keys so tell them exactly where or who to hand it off to after they are done. Again Nix will point this in their "docs" and expect you to be on top of that. 3. You can pay by credit card but they fail to mention that the bank charges an additional 3% overhead. Nix need to explain the ventilation process a little better. For example that they vent out at the top of the tent on day 2 etc. Its not on their documents. Why not put a FAQ about the process on the website? read more

Was told subterranean work required holes to be drilled into the garage concrete. Day of work, was told by tech, he was directed to spray outside of garage, but required rocks to be raked away. Discovered nothing was done, so called. Owner said holes were supposed to be drilled, and tech would go back. Emails, and phone calls requesting a date got nowhere. I had to tell them, my next letter would be to the California Contractor Association. When I work for someone, I want referrals, but when you're ignored repeatedly, all you'll get is one angry customer. Never should have come to this. read more

Just about as painless and easy as an inspection could be. I needed a termite clearance for a refinance. Called on Tuesday and set up an appointment for Thursday. Daniel, the inspector, even called ahead to say he could come earlier, but I wasn't at home. Appointment was scheduled for 2:30 and at 2:25 Daniel was ringing my doorbell. He explained thoroughly everything he needed to do and went to work. About 25 minutes later, after walking the exterior and checking both attics, he told me everything looked fine and was on his way. I was almost happy. The owner is correct that I had someone else sign for me because I was out of town which is why I arranged to have the fumigation done when it was. That said the quote was given to me and the walk through done with me. I expressed to Chris I would have appreciated the company verbally pointing out to me that I needed to cut back my plants. He would have clearly seen I have expensive landscaping adjacent to my home. I don't know too many people that read through the pages given to the. Yes shame on me for not reading it. But it is not like the disclosure is bolder in a different color or otherwise had any attention drawn to it. The owner did work hard to make me happy including discounting my bill to cover the expense of removal of my dead landscaping. So he did everything right except point out to me orally that the landscaping would die unless cut back. I just wish I had been told. read more
