We came here needing a quick Korean fried chicken fix. My thing is to always to compare to something that I liked. So my base is K.bbq Chicken. I walked in and noticed they do have limited tables. I wouldn't say this is a big group kind of place. Luckily for us, we were a party of 4. I looked at the menu over and over and couldn't really decide what to order. I had the dilemma of trying to feed my kids. So of course something not spicy and some carbs. I ordered the fries and honestly they were a miss. I didn't like that dirty oil flavor on it. I also did the cheese balls expecting some cheese full, but that again was a little mochi like in texture with no cheese pulls and dusted with a sweet cheese powder. It's an acquired taste. Those are some of the ehhh dishes. However the star of the show were the boneless chicken. We did their ddeok bokki mala flavor. Dang, that thing hits! It's very spicy, but in a good strong salty and spicy flavoring. It's also not too runny like other ddeok bokki's I've had in the past. I was thoroughly surprised by that dish. Now back to the boneless chicken, just be extra careful on your first bite. It's oozing with juices and piping hot. I had to open a few ahead of time to peel the meat for my children. They loved it. Now, pro tip, I would order the original again and order a side of the flaming sauce. That was super sweet and spicy. The perfect compliment to the crunchy texture. I also ordered a side of the boned in wings and had the soy spicy flavor. That was really tasty. I would order beer next time bc these flavors were bold and needed a cold beer to cool down the heat. Now, the thing that impressed me the most were the crunch on every single piece of chicken. They are by far one of the most inquire flavors and texture combination I tried. One thing, that made me say, hey I'll come back here again, was their workers. My son accidentally dropped the fork and like a few parents, we would just pick it up and wipe it off and use it again. I know, not everyone will do that. If you have a toddler they can drop that fork like 4 times sometimes. Anyways, the waiter noticed that and quickly brought us a clean new fork. That's some fine dining detail that I have never experienced in a small restaurant before. Kudos for the wait staff on that. We arrived around 5 o'clock and were fortunate to find available seating. We ordered a CHICKEN BEER COMBO (Mixed Chicken with extra pieces, Fried Chicken Gizzard, and a large beer). I noticed that they were much busier with phone orders than with dine-in orders. The first item served was the beer, which came in a frosty beer mug. It was so cold that icicles formed on top and was incredibly refreshing. Next, the Fried Gizzard came out, and I personally found it a bit too gamey. I've enjoyed fried gizzard in the past, but the gizzards served here were not to my liking. Lastly, they brought out the Original Fried Chicken and Korean Sweet Chili, both of which were delicious. It's a chicken joint so I'm not docking them for this, but it is offered as one of the main combos. Cheese Balls - I didn't get the appeal of this. The outer powder flavoring is overpowering and plays by itself, while the inner cheese is either underwhelmed by said powder or weak in taste. Interior is on the smaller side. Original first, very well seasoned batter is great and crispy. flamin soy also flavorful and first time trying soy that is spicy which l really enjoyed. They give enough pickled radish where others would charge. my only gripe with this joint is that they need to learn how to package their togo. its in a KFC styled bucket with bunch of parchment paper stuffed in there.. steam comes up and gets stuck in the closed lid.. by the time we got home... the entire bucket was a soggy mess. luckily our air fryer can give a little life back to the original fried chicken but the flamin soy was no done and nothing we can do to bring it back.
