There was 2 tiny little pieces of what looked like old tri tip on bread. No condiments at all. Had to ask for some mayo just to give it some flavor. My husband had a Chinese combination plate that he said was not even edible. Don't understand the name is this a Chinese take out place or a sandwich place. We have been going to Noahs for over 20 years and the food is delicious. They have the best barbecue pork we've ever tasted. Everything is so fresh and delicious. Our family loves their chow mein and fried rice. We've never had a bad meal there. If you don't want chinese, Tim and his crew also have great sandwiches. We've also had their turkey sandwich. The turkey is so tender and tasty. We've lived in So Cal and our kids live in SF and have tried lots of restaurants that serve Chinese food and this place gets a five star rating from us. The food here is always to die for!! Granted, I do tend to always get the same thing, a #1, which is the AMAZING BBQ pork, but I have never been disappointed in it. The flavor is just mouthwatering delicious. Though, sometimes the rice is not my favorite, not that it has ever been bad, but it has been less then exceptional a couple of times. I must also admit, I have gotten the fried wonton's a couple of times, and they have been pretty greasy. Other then that, I just love Noah's!!! One other thing, if you are judging the place on decor, you might walk out a fast as you walk in. You have to look past the decor, as it is a bit rundown. not my cup of tea. i was in town for a funeral and decided to have lunch after going to the museum since it was close by and had decent ratings. they have a weird set that i noticed AFTER i ordered. i guess the regulars there get a tray and utensils before ordering. while waiting in line.. there was a girl in front of us that order an open faced sandwich so we end up ordering that with wonton soup. open faced sandwich - oh man.. the gravy they drenched the sandwich wasnt workinn. it made everything have a funky taste.. it tastes like milky thick salt.. wonton soup - i guess this is a bit better.. Tried this place after the fiance raved about it. I'm not a pork fan but my fiance says that this place has quite possibly the best BBQ pork he has ever had, and he's had a lot. Noah's is my favorite restaurant in town and I go there at least once a week. I know it seems kind of old and dirty but the food is absolutely delicious and completely safe(I have not ever gotten sick or anything from their food). If the people that work behind the counter are rude to you, it's probably because you were rude to them! The lady is the sweetest and always says hi to me and the guy can be abrupt but only when they are busy. They do get really busy during lunch of the work week but weekends are usually not too bad and you eat through the line quickly. I will recommend this restaurant until I'm blue in the face. I can't comment on the meat and potatoes dishes. This is an "old school" cafeteria type place. If you're looking for fine dining, don't come here. So imagine my surprise when the dinner I ate here was probably the worst meal I have ever eaten in a restaurant. . . The chow mien was horribly overcooked and it was basically just mushy noodles - the fried rice was the same - overcooked and flavorless.
