DO NOT RECOMMEND: Unsanitary food preparation and open food storage containers. While I was waiting for a sandwich, I witnessed 2 things that made me feel sick to my stomach. 1.) A young girl was "cleaning" a large open metal food container that stores all the uncovered meats, cheese & condiments. She was using a large wet, filthy rag. Slopping it around and right next to the open, uncovered food storage containers. She continued to use the same wet, dirty rag. I actually saw slop from the rag, hit a couple of the open food containers. 2.) She was working right next to a woman with red hair, that I believe was a manager or supervisor. The woman with red hair was making sandwiches next to the girl with the dirty rag(s). She could see everything, but did nothing. I watched the red head making my food. She also just used a dirty rag to wipe the counter after preparing the last sandwich. She didn't even put the new food on top of clean paper. She dropped some of the salmon onto the dirty counter, scooped it up and plopped it onto the sandwich. Needless to say it was nauseating to witness. The salmon was not even cold, because they kept the meat on top of the counter. It was eye opening and made me never want to return. Not sanitary, not clean, and the 2 employees couldn't care less. It probably happens at other restaurant kitchens, but I was able to witness it here, first hand. I felt queasy the whole day and could not eat the sandwich. It seems like there are always new employees in training, and it constantly causes delays with orders. Came here two days in a row and they screwed up my order both times lol. The food was still good even though it wasn't what I ordered. Just got a turkey bacon swiss and not only did they forget the swiss, they used chipotle spread instead of tomato. This location is the worst! You walk in and you order at one register. The employee had no idea about online orders, coupons, etc. Then after the debacle, you go around the counter to another register to pay. But they don't see your order and you have to repeat what you just ordered. You hand a coupon and she doesn't know what to do. Takes your coupon and repeats your same total. Logic would tell you the total should be less. So you wait for a supervisor to come show her how to do it. Then you wait for your order. You'd think this system meant the flow would be faster, smoother. No. Because my order was incomplete. Tried flagging someone to let them know I'm missing items. What happened to this location? This used to be my favorite Noah's, but I recently ordered the new Double Stack Meal through Uber Eats and ran into an issue. The app required me to select a bagel, and it charged an extra $3 for the default hash brown bagel that the meal already comes with. To avoid the charge, I selected the jalapeño bagel instead. After placing the order, I called Noah's to ask if they could switch it back to the original hash brown bagel--since that's the standard option for the meal anyway. It doesn't make sense to pay extra for the bagel that's already supposed to be included. I called the girl on the phone from 9/8 was the rudest girl ever- she made it seem like I was trying to rob the bagel or something, I asked her to do it she agreed. When. When you order a bagel toasted until until it's brown like toast, it means golden brown over the entire bagel, not white with a tiny bit of brown around the edges. You would think most people would know how to make toast. Maybe I should have asked for 2 passes through the toaster? AND GOLDEN BROWN? I like my bagel with butter, that's why I want it golden brown. A $10 "club sandwich" with 2 thin slices of mediocre turkey, a thin slice of tomato, a leaf of spinach and a little bit of lettuce is not what a call a sandwich. I never thought I'd say that I'd rather visit the Oakland location thank the Lafayette location in my life, but here we are. I find that the service counter girl was rude, or curt with the guests in front of me and then me as well. I don't like that. I'm spending my money, be polite. I needed napkins, so I asked at the counter. She said, "you can get them over there." She pointed at the service area in the back. I let her know I definitely looked there, they are empty. So she pointed to the napkins in front of me and said, "there." But, alas, no napkins. Just another empty holder. I'm not sure what was wrong with the guy in front of me having questions about bagels and I'm not sure what was wrong with me asking for napkins but in this neighborhood I expect better service. HOW CAN THIS BE??!! I have been a long time customer of Noah's from early 90s!! In the past 3 years Lafayette Noahs keeps slipping, right down the tubes. They are very busy. They have a huge turnaround with staff, clearly some entitled kids who think they can get away being snarky. I can overlook bad employees, when the product I am receiving is better than the service but not this time. My bagels were a hot mess, some came flat, Some had concave bottoms and a few were fine. I could literally pour a shot glass of liquid into the bagel bottom, the concave was that large. I was offered a refund from the manager. I told her that not every single bagel was bad and I was more than willing to pay for the good ones. She said my refund would take about seven days, super nice and I said Thank You. Two weeks later... No Refund was applied. I called Lafayette store, a girl answered the phone, I asked for a manager. She had a snarky laugh and told this kid "she wants a manager". He told me his name was Ramsey. I asked if he could help with my refund, and I forgot the name of the other manager. He asked for my order number, then he wanted a full story. I asked him to please look at the notes. I really wanted to know if he could help or did I have to speak with the other manager. He then seemed confused about my order. I told him it was simple 2 bakers dozen jalapeño cheddar. Then he would repeat random chatter back, 2 cheddar jalapeños were missing? I said no, they were baked wrong. Ramsey then said, so you only got 1 dozen? I repeated myself , I ordered two bakers dozen then he would say, What were the other Bagels? I would say they're all the same and then he would say bakers dozen? As if he was just messing with me, or trying to irritate me. He acted very confused as if he didn't understand. He was very confused and I asked him again are you the manager "one of them." 20 minutes of my life passed by on the phone with this kid, then He says "I'll give your information to the manager." It was as if they were playing a game. I did not think it was funny at all! I have written Noahs three times and still have not heard back. I'm leaving a one star review and I'm frustrate, sad and super disappointed. I am asking for a 100% refund and clearly I have to go through my credit card because Noahs can't be bothered. read more

I had a bad customer service experience at the Noah's NY Bagels in Danville on Match 11, so I decided to go to the one in Lafayette on March 18 around 10:15 am. I love their Poppyseed Bagels, but I had another bad customer service experience. I ordered a Poppyseed Bagel toasted with butter from a young man who was the cashier. His customer service skills were excellent, but the lady who prepared my bagel had horrible skills. There was a couple in front of me when I ordered, so I thought would be in and out of the store. After 10 minutes, I said to the young man "I think they forgot my bagel" and the man replied they didn't forget about it. Within two minutes, a lady put my bagel on the counter saying nothing (ie, I apologize for the wait). I opened the bag and noticed my bagel was toasted brown. I told the young man my bagel was toasted too dark, and the lady said the ticket said to toast medium. The man said that medium was the standard at this Noah's and the lady replied I should have asked for my bagel toasted light. I said I've always said I want my bagel toasted at other Noah's and it has never been toasted so dark. The lady had an attitude as she prepared another bagel toasted lighter and the way I've had them in past. She threw it on the counter saying nothing (ie, "I'm sorry for your inconvenience"). I give the lady who prepared my bagel 1 star for her poor customer service skills. Since I sent an email message to Noah's Bagels Corporate Office and didn't get a response about my Danville location experience. Always a popular spot during the weekend or peak times. They regulate very well when it comes to covid restrictions and everyone lines up according to the directions on the floor. When I come I usually order a box togo with 2 spreads. My favorites are the asiago cheese bagel and salmon lox bagel. They have a wide range of cream cheese flavors and taste great. I think it's best when they slice and toast the bagel for you. They also sell drinks like coffee, lattes, etc. I usually get an iced coffee and it's not super dense. The ice seems to water it down and I'm okay with that. Plenty of parking as it's located in a plaza. They offer a rewards program which you can use to rack up points. You can also do curbside or order in advance and just grab it. Staff seems to be changing from time to time so sometimes there's new employees that are a still in training. They also have two bathrooms in the back with lockpads. All in all, this hits the spot, usually quick service and hits the spot for a brunch or bagel craving. read more

Today is one of many times when the wait time was ridiculous. I placed an online order for 2 bagels with shear ( pretty easy I'd think!?!). I got the auto reply saying it would be ready in 15-20 minutes. My order didn't come out for 36 minutes!! If they are unable to handle the volume maybe don't take online or don't take door dash....waiting so long is crazy! Twenty years ago I used to go to Noah's every weekend while I attended SMC. I was in the area and opted to get breakfast there with my daughter. The service seemed unorganized and the staff appeared confused. When we went to pick up our bag there were two separate bags on the counter with two items each in them. When we asked which bag was ours the staff seemed unsure and annoyed. I ordered the egg bacon sandwich and it was fine. My daughter ordered a bagel with cream cheese, avocado, and bacon. She said it was dry as there was maybe a tablespoon of cream cheese, two very thin slices of avocado, and a thin slice of bacon. Not really worth the price. I go to many Noah's bagels, and I don't know why this one doesn't have more stars because this is the best location out of all of them. Looks like older reviews were negative and maybe the management put their foot down and hired better workers or something because I'm always greeted, the workers work very hard and efficiently, they're very kind and never burn the bagels.
