Didn't try to sell us on anything or tell us what was even the best thing to get at the restaurant. We asked him about the black cod with miso which everyone told us to get and he literally didn't even acknowledge the fact that we asked about it. People just come here for the fame and the potential to see famous people. Spend your money somewhere else. They also told us when they called to confirm the reservation that we couldn't have our table for more than 90 minutes because they needed it for other reservations. Top tier dining experience. Not much to say, let the food do the talking. Only critique would be regarding the overuse (in my subjective opinion) of citrus in almost all of the dishes that came to my table. Most notable dish for me was the salmon tartar which had the most incredibly delicate texture with a beautiful buttery tasting note. As if that wasn't good enough for the chef, it is then topped off with quality caviar. Baked Alaska desert was also extraordinary... so was every dish in between. As someone who loves sushi & Japanese food, Nobu has been on my radar for a very long time. It's located at the Eden roc now known as the nobu hotel. Valet was very busy on a Saturday night so if you are driving there make sure to allow plenty of time before your reservation. The ambiance was okay not great. I think this is due to Covid & the tables having to be so spaced out but this is the only negative I have to say. The food was amazing and our server was really attentive and nice. Our favorite dishes were definitely the salmon nashi and the miso cod. These were so good that we ordered another round after devouring them in 2 seconds. I was extremely thankful that Nobu allowed us to dine with them even after being late to our reservation due to delayed fights! The food was good~ I would recommend the lobster tacos! Our service though felt rushed, we were told the kitchen closed soon so we need to quickly put an order in. Food is good, service is poor. The restaurant itself is beautiful inside, nearly impossible to get a reservation even if you plan weeks in advance. For a highly coveted restaurant found in many major cities, it certainly did not meet my expectations for a dining experience. I was confused why a restaurant that is so highly spoken of in other places (Vegas, the Bahamas...) had a poor Yelp rating. Well my experience explains it. I made a reservation pretty easily online, and indicated I was celebrating a birthday. When the hostess called to confirm the reservation, I was informed that if I purchased a dessert, they would give me a candle and a write Happy Birthday on it. This informed me indirectly that the restaurant would not make any special gestures for a celebrated guest. We were seated pretty quickly around 8pm, and the restaurant was at about half capacity. The waiter was extremely unpleasant and did not make us feel welcome at all. It seemed like he was waiting on more tables than he could handle. He was annoyed when I couldn't hear what he said and asked him to repeat himself. He barely stopped by our table to check to see if we needed anything else. The restaurant became very busy around 10pm, and all the tables were filled. If you are concerned about social distancing, this is not the place for you. The food was tasty. They have certainly perfected simple dishes. The wagyu foie gras dumplings were "sold out." The ribeye dish was very flavorful and cooked well. The tempura shrimp was definitely a glorified bang bang shrimp from bonefish grill. Mochi was good, like any other mochi. Overall, the restaurant is very expensive and not worth the cost. Nobu. What an experience. Normally if I'm planning to go to a nice spot, I'm choosing a steak house but Nobu changed that. I think I was expecting g more of a quiet steak house romantic experience and it wasn't that at all. It was more of a lively atmosphere, very comfortable, informal layout of chairs/tables, etc. It was a perfect balance of nice/elegant paired with chill & laid back. The service was top notch from every staff member we interacted with. Presentation of every dish stood out and made you feel like you were eating art. I loved genuinely every thing that we ordered except for the Chilean Sea Bass but that's more so because I personally don't love the flavor of Sea Bass. Even then, I could tell it was prepared perfectly. Unfortunately we did not see any Kardashians or Biebers when we dined at Nobu (I guess that's strictly an LA experience...). What we did see, and get to try, were likely some of the same dishes they have ordered plenty of times. We started off with the Salmon Nashi - salmon slices wrapped around sliced pear. It was light and refreshing. We then had the crispy rice with tuna; a much different take on the traditional crispy rice sushi - here they give you crispy rice cubes to top with as much, or as little tuna as you desire. The rock shrimp was great - not too oily and perfectly cooked (so much so, that I embarrassingly thought it was undercooked due to the tenderness; they gave me a fresh order, which speaks to the amazing service we received). The star of the show was the black cod, cooked in miso. It was phenomenal!! The service was excellent, with staff rotating our plates and clearing our table several times throughout the meal. My only issue I had with the dinner is that the prices they charge are very very high relative to the items we ordered. I guess that is to be expected given the restaurant is nestled in the Eden Roc hotel. For being a restaurant with many locations across the world, I have to give them credit for being able to live up to their reputation. read more

This place is definitely overrated. Although there are a few good dishes in the menu , portions are small and too expensive for the quality. The ambiance is very lively and the service is good but overall, I wouldn't go back. We ordered everything to share so we were able to try a lot of the menu. Our favorites were the mushroom salad, the cauliflower and the fried popcorn shrimp. Our least favorites were the salmon sushi roll and the meat dish. The desserts were not good either. Disappointed and underwhelmed with our Nobu Miami experience. Here's the good: The food was very tasty and the restaurant is beautifully decorated inside which offers a nice ambiance. From a pandemic prospective, it felt clean, distanced and safe (which is not true for a lottt of restaurants in the area). There's also cocktail discounts for a happy hour from 6-7pm. The menu is interesting and I can definitely see the appeal. Why it's only getting three stars: honestly, the service and attitude of the employees was really disappointing. The general manager came by our table and was very condescending, as if this restaurant was the number one spot in the city. Service was slow and with the manager being rude, it left little desire to want to stay. We did not feel like they needed our business, so we left after getting a drink and an appetizer. It's also very pricey for the size of the portions. This was to be expected, but we'd much rather take our business elsewhere for better treatment. There's several very good high end Asian fusion and sushi restaurants in the city - I'd recommend any of them before sending anyone here. read more

Had the most wonderful experience here with my bachelorette party!!! Highly recommend for anyone in Miami whether it's a special occasion or not! We did a black and white theme dinner. The bridal party was in black and the bride in white. They changed our napkins at the table immediately to coordinate with our attire. Our waitress was so kind and knowledgeable. She suggested some wonderful dishes, and everyone agreed this was our favorite dinner the whole trip! We were so appreciative of all the wait staff, bartenders, etc for making this night stress free. Improvisation from lack of ingredients can create amazing things. Think eating Chicatana ants and posole soup. They aren't dishes that were created because of abundance, but rather due to lack of it. Although with the ritzy sparkles and exorbitant prices it may be difficult to picture Nobu in that light, it is exactly how some of the world changing dishes here originated. While Nobu opened the first restaurant in Peru, it was there that the lack of ingredients became apparent and resulted in creativity and evolution of dishes we see today. Nobu today is likely a very different place than the original, becoming a playground for the rich, for the ladies that seek out to find the rich and some hardcore food nerds that actually come here for the food, rather than the scene. The dishes from Nobu from Miso Black Cod to Yellowtail Jalapeño can be found now in restaurants all over the world. They are imitated, sometimes well and sometimes with a surprising lack of respect for the original. There are some other amazing dishes even on the Nobu classic menu that didn't get the same degree of attention, but nonetheless iconic. Examples are Yellowtail Tartare with Caviar, Tiradito and Tuna Tempura Roll. Despite being critical to the innovation of Nobu, it is not going to be easy to find same preparations elsewhere. Thus, if visiting Nobu for the first time, that's likely a great starting list. Now, one of the neatest things about Nobu is that they don't stop trying. They aren't continuing build restaurants on the classics, but dedicate exactly half of the menu to innovative dishes. Tried several, some were hits, some were not, but nonetheless exciting. Red Snapper in Butter lettuce is spectacular, while a few others like Salmon Nashi and White Fish Sashimi Dry Miso are works in progress. Regardless, they are trying and experimenting, improving while building on the foundation of amazing. Nobu is a place that represents more than its innovative food or sexy environment. It's a demonstration of America. The ability for a business to become a global icon through a success and perseverance. Despite today's glamour of the establishment and the cloud of posturing, the roots are there and the humble beginnings are evident with every bite. read more

Nobu is one of my favorite "splurge" dinners of all time. I've been to the Nobu in Vegas a couple of times now for Omakase, but this time in Miami my boyfriend and I decided to just order a la carte off the menu. We were excited to try a few new things that we hadn't had before in the Omakase! We started with a few sashimi dishes as appetizers, namely the yellowtail jalapeño sashimi and the white fish sashimi with dry miso. Both of these are just melt in your mouth delicious. The combination of flavors is to die for. Overall this is probably some of the best sashimi I've ever had in my life and I savored every bite. We wanted to have toro while at Nobu since it's fairly rare, so next we decided to try a toro and scallion sushi roll. Again, this is probably the best sushi I've ever had (noticing a theme here? LOL!) The toro was so light and flavorful and each piece of the sushi roll had quite a bit of toro in it, so we appreciated that they didn't skimp on that! For our entree we shared the blackened miso cod, which is Nobu's signature dish and I think a must try for everyone in their lifetime. This is truly some of the most moist, flavorful fish you will ever eat. For dessert, we had the chocolate bento box, which includes a molten chocolate cake with housemade matcha ice cream. What a delicious and decadent end to the meal! The chocolate cake is very rich, but the matcha ice cream is actually pretty light, so it's a wonderfully balanced dessert. Nobu's main "downfall," if you could call it that, is the price. When you come to Nobu you have to be prepared to drop a few hundred dollars total on a meal if you're planning to drink alcohol with your food (I think the bill for my boyfriend and I came to around $350 after tip). This is definitely a rare splurge for me due to the price, but if you love seafood and sushi and are willing to pay a premium for quality food, Nobu is a must-try. read more

Overpriced, overhyped restaurant - it's pretty understood that is nothing about Nobu is particularly good, but for some unknown reason people keep going back. Even with this expectation, my husband and I went with a group of friends and still managed to be disappointed. The service was horrible (took forever to get our waiter to come over to order more food, didn't refill water, rude, etc.) and they refused to itemize our bill. What restaurant doesn't allow you to split a check these days?? There are much better restaurants with better sushi in Miami - go there. Also one sparkling water was $10 before tax and tip....
