The staff were super friendly and very attentive however the wings were tasteless and fried too hard and the garlic lime sauce was watery and did not stick to the wings. The gumbo was subpar. I was excited about visiting however the food was very disappointing.

This place is decked out and is true to its theme. They have banners everywhere to give a sort of Mardi Gras/NOLA feel--truly not a bad place in Wrigley and deviates a lot from what you're used to seeing in the area. We went on a cold Wednesday night though and it was absolutely dead, we were the only customers inside. Perhaps this place is more crowded during weekend nights but the lack of people did make us wonder if this place was worth the hype. Food-wise it's very passable and it'll feel your need for Cajun food. Food: Nola Gumbo: they give you a house made hot sauce to go with the gumbo, the overall dish was nice and hearty but I feel like it could've been a bit more flavorful Alligator Basket: this was the true mvp of the night. It was my first time trying alligator and the way they fry it is so good. I would say it tastes a lot like a super tender steak--highly recommend!

Ordered delivery. The wings are good but the sauce is sooooo watery, and they don't even include a free ranch you have to pay for it. Didn't even include ketchup even though I asked for it and it's the least that could be include with a $9 fry. Then the gumbo was the WORST gumbo I've ever had in my life. I'm a southern girl who has had a lot of gumbo, including plenty from NOLA and Louisiana. Like it's disgustingly bad they are selling it and passing it off as gumbo.

I love the theme, how can you not have a good time here at this NOLA themed bar? You feel like you've stepped out of Chicago and straight onto Bourbon Street! The hurricanes were delicious and the bartender was attentive and fun! It was such. Fun vibe, although I didn't get to try the food the menu was traditional Cajun offerings including alligator!

Quite frankly never would have thought to eat here, but I came with friends and am so glad to know about this spot now! We came for March Madness, and it was super easy to get a table for 4 to watch the games immediately. The place was overall pretty quiet, and the bar tender was helpful and attentive. We started with drinks but eventually got hungry so we tried some food too! I was happy with the beer and cider collection - All of the basics, plus fun options specific to New Orleans. The food variety impressed me too! We loved the parmesan garlic tater tots, and the queso and Cajun chicken po'boy that we tried did the trick. The food wasn't life changing but the menu and atmosphere intrigued me enough to come back and try more in the future!

Absolutely check this place out when in Wrigleyville if you're looking for something unique. Good food and great service! I especially liked the NOLA gumbo and add a little of their house made hot sauce which really brings all the flavors out. Drinks were well made and service prompt. Not a lot of places in the area where you can get a true N'awlins oyster and shrimp Po Boy either! 5 stars, I'll be back.

Pretty good spot. Typical wrigleyville things - parking, longer traffic during games, rowdy crowds on the street, etc. it's spacious and has multiple TVs scattered throughout for the game. I got the hurricane which came with a cute beaded necklace around it. Security guard is present for safety.

Late post but came here for Mardi Gras they had a live band it was cool I'm only giving it a three stars was that it took 2 hours to get my food then they brought our food twice. The food overall was good.

Stopped in here before a Cubs game. The place is small and is obviously set up as a bar first, Kitchen 2nd. There is no air-conditioning, which was a major deal on a 93 degree day!! We ordered the alligator bites and the "Gumbolya" (combo of Gumbo and Jambalaya). Both were good, if not exceptional. The Cajun spice seemed to be mostly black pepper which was a disappointment, Portion sizes were good. We came at 4pm before a 7:05 weekday game start, so I can not estimate how busy they would be closer to game time. Overall, worth a trip if you are in the area!!

Came by for dinner after rock climbing during a weekday. I ordered the Fried Shrimp Po' Boy, which was loaded up with fried shrimp. I liked the remoulade sauce and the cut of their fries. The service was super friendly. The food my friends ordered all looked amazing, so I'll definitely be back when I want a taste of cajun country. I've never had fried alligator, but it's on the menu and I'm intrigued.

Arrived on a rainy wet day, early afternoon. noting an array of bar sitters having a midday drink. We grabbed the two seat round table near the exposed brick wall and ordered a personal creole competition crawl , as we continue to seek the best restaurant serving this iconic dish, commonly know as. "Louisiana Creole Style Gumbo,"; Nola's was on the Seeker's List and we are here! We are ordering alligator bites with delicious fries too. A tall modelesque friendly, and attentive waiter almost instantly, served up a piping hot bowl of the homemade gumbo house special. It was full bodied essential spices, and loaded with plenty of vegetables swimming in a Louisiana creole style broth, along with traditional meats and seafood infusing complex flavors. The Gumbo did not disappoint for heartiness and nutrients flavor pounding taste drums. We both loved our first exploration into alligator bites. It has a mild meaty lightness with an interesting contexture, not too unlike the fiber of poultry. Nola's has a celebratory atmosphere, a Mardi Gras ambiance, and a winning bowl of gumbo, good service, while located just around the corner from the ballpark, Nola's is a great iconic place to raise high spirits, as it hits it out of the park for great food and circuses!

NOLA what can I say. I'm glad thru a series of food choices I decide to go to a restaurant that has food like my favorite city. New Orleans, Nawlins. NOLA in Wrigleyville 3481 N Clark. My wife and I ordered Jambalaya and Etoufee. All I could do as I ate my late lunch was reminisce about the last 35 years being able to visit NOLA. This food is as close as someone can eat without being physically in New Orleans. Before we started lunch we had, Vodoo Shrimp Quesadilla Appetizer.Although not Cajun it fit right in and the flavors were more than expected. As a generous gift we also had an order of Beignets. Can I tell you Café DuMonde is good but these Beignets will knock you to the floor, Crispy, Airy and Light. Sunny our Hostess and new found Friend was the nicest cordial human being you could meet. We are Customers for life. read more

This is the third time I've been here. Staff and owner are incredibly friendly. Drinks are awesome (I had red sangria and various craft beers, including Abita). Food is excellent-- I had Po Boy, beignets, and gumbo. Can't wait to come back and to try my to go order of jambalaya. read more

Live in the area and have passed by Nola on a few occasions and finally decided to give it a try. Stopped in on a Sunday night with my roommate for a few beers and some food. All the food was fantastic and I'd especially recommend the Honey Garlic & Lime wings, though the tacos certainly hit the spot as well. What made our visit especially enjoyable, however, was the bartender Sinead. For awhile, myself and my roommate were the only patrons present, which can make a dining experience awkward. Not only did Sinead provide excellent service, but she was personable as well. I will definitely be returning to Nola in the future. read more

Order food through Grubhub . Called ahead for a special request on Poboy they did it no problem. The oyster and shrimp were just ok as some from the Nola area I know my expectations may be high . But the point was just kind of sad besides the seafood barley any sauce almost no veg to talk about maybe a little Tom or just cheap iceberg or even a slaw . The fries actually pretty good . I will give another chance hopefully better next time . read more

This was one of the worst experiences. My group ordered a round of drinks and a couple appetizers. My drink was a cocktail and it was horrible. The server/bartender came to our table once without us waving him down and only to bring the food. They forgot one of the appetizers. They ended up bringing the appetizer and charging full price (12) for jalapeño poppers.. which was literally 2 jalapeños cut in half with cream cheese and a piece of bacon around them.. horrible service and food and not cheap at all read more

We had a good experience here. The guy at the bar served us, and he was really nice. He made sure we had what we needed. I had my children with me, and wasn't expecting it to be kid-friendly. I was surprised that it was a good "family" experience. The food was also delicious. It tasted fresh, and it is New Orleans inspired. At least I thought so about my PO Boy Cajun Chicken. The Honey Garlic and Lime Tenders were also super good. We will visit here again soon. read more

This has to be one of the greatest pub in Wrigley, from the staff to the food, it is nothing but the best. I had the pleasure of meeting Veronica she is one of the bartenders there and she makes the best old fashions and recommended to try the their tacos and WOW thats all I can say. Hands down the best bulgogi tacos ever, I started with 1 and ended up getting 5 more. A definitely must try place in Chicago. read more

PO Boys are great there. They taste similar to what I had when I lived in Louisiana. E blackened fish PO Boy was on point. I'll get it again anytime I am in the area. Highly recommend giving it a try. Not sure about the bar scene because when I was there it was very early and the bar was empty. read more

My fiancé and I came in last weekend after lasting 11 of the 16 innings against the Brewers. It was cold and rainy out and every place before here was packed. We saw some open seats and decided to try this place and man I am so glad we did. We sat at the bar and loved the decor. There are a ton of huge screen tv's so was perfect to watch the rest of the game. We had a few beers and a shots and all were spot on. The food though was the best of it all. It was so good. We tried the tacos and they were amazing. My fiancé had the steak taco and I had the bulgogi taco. It was seriously amazing. Like you go back there specifically for it type of amazing. We also each ordered 4 wings. I got the Carolina gold sauce and it was delicious. The wings were big, cooked perfectly, and tasted so good. We are definitely going to come back. Came in after the cubs won. Expected it to be busy but this place was open for the taking and for a reason. A waitress acknowlodged us and then never followed up. We waited 15 min for a drink then went to the bar. Another 10 min and finally got a cheap beer. We were looking to order food and was skipped over for a table that arrived 15 min after us. Needless to say we did not get food and just drank the beers we ordered from the bar. read more

How this place isn't packed, I will not understand. My roommate and I found Nola on a random Monday and haven't looked back since. They have dollar tacos on Mondays, I repeat, DOLLAR TACOS. Holy shit this place is BOMB. Seriously, I'm so impressed. The guac and chips were unbelievable. Chips were freshly made (still hot) and the guac was perfectly flavored. The Jamaican Jerk fries were so yummy too! We also got the miso crab soup and MAN OH MAN did that flavor blow me out of this world. The white and red sangria was soooooooo good and super refreshing. The tacos......DONT EVEN GET ME STARTED!!! Wow. So D-LISH. We ordered every single kind and they DELIVERED. Every bite was so satisfying that you couldn't eat it fast enough. Tom, our bartender/server is the BOMB DOT COM. He was so awesome, and gave us such good service. Marvi, the cook, man does this dude deserve a trip to Latin America to TEACHHHH their best chefs. Good god this place is a colossal disaster. It's the Saturday of the Pearl Jam concert, you'd think it would be a big weekend for making money and they are failing miserably. Food was good, but there is no way you survive when you can't prove to the consumer that you can deliver under pressure. Wrigleyville = pressure. They won't make it past the fall if they continue on like this. read more

Was in Wrigleyville to meet a friend and afterward realized I needed to charge my phone. Decided to get a drink--but there was a Cubs game starting and I had no desire to be around shrieking aggro dudes. Enter Nola: a great beer from a cool bartender, great ambience, and was randomly given free chicken wings? Will definitely be returning. Was here for Game 3 of World Series. Had a decent time, lots of people, food was okay, and you can't mess up beer. Came back for Game 4 and waited on line outside. Manager told the crowd that they weren't letting people in past a certain number due to the previous night almost getting written up by the fire marshall. I was upset with the fact that they waited until 15 minutes before game time to inform us of this (could've found a different bar in the meantime... wasted 2 hours on line). Finally get to the front of the line and the manager says "you're not coming in" due to my attitude. Lol ok. She ruined my and my friends' night. Fantastic. Not going back thanks to the short-fused manager. read more

Every single part of the meal was outstanding. The pulled pork was delicious on its own, but I also loved the sweet barbecue sauce. The cornbread was, without exaggeration, the best I've ever had!! It was moist, flavorful, and served with absolutely incredible butter. The mac and cheese was rich, creamy, and one of the best I've ever had as well. Even the sweet tea was perfect: actually sweet without being overpowering or having that bitter, earthy aftertaste that some sweet teas have. I couldn't stop thinking about it, so I came back the next night and tried the brisket. It was sooooo good too. It was tender, smoky, juicy, and packed with flavor. At that point I knew the first meal wasn't a fluke. It's not inexpensive, but the portions are generous, and I felt the quality more than justified the price. I was there by myself because I'm traveling for work and actually enjoyed the communal tables. They made the atmosphere feel welcoming and a little less lonely than sitting by myself. The staff was excellent, too. The gentleman with the glasses at the meat counter was friendly, funny, and made the experience even more enjoyable. Ordered takeout from here today and it was amazing. Taste, quality and freshness was absolutely exceptional and blew me away. I can be really picky at times as a customer with my food choices but they were really understanding and easy to work with. Everything was done to top notch quality. I got the honey garlic and lime tenders, avocado fries and beignets. Portions were more than enough to have seconds as well. I was there for the pulled pork tacos and the drinks. Both were absolutely terrific. The bartender was friendly but not overly solicitous and the waitstaff was very helpful. What a great idea to have a wine bar in that neighborhood....i'll be back for the wine...I tried and loved their cocktail specials!! Came here for the cubs/brewers game, some bald shady bartender with glasses double charged me for my tab and my buddies tab . He was an overall asshole in general. Pick any other bar on this road , you will regret giving this garbage dump business read more
