Disclaimer: grew up in Taiwan and lived there for 16 years. Never a fan of beef noodle soup and that didn't change after I moved to the states :P In the past, I've tried a lot of beef noodle soups restaurants here and there in Taiwan and in the states. Most of the time I don't get the hype. I seriously doubt myself for being a Taiwanese but seem can't find a way to enjoy Taiwanese beef noodle soup.... oh yeah, I'm really sad. WHAT'S WRONG WITH ME?! Luckily mystery was solved after I tried Noodle Pot. Even my sister who is super picky about authentic Taiwanese food agrees that Noodle Pot has legit beef noodle soup. [side note: my sister lived in Taiwan for 29 years before moving to the states for her master's degree, so you see where this review is going, well kinda.] + Stewed Beef & Tendon with Noodle in Spicy Beef Soup 紅燒半筋半肉牛肉麵 + Stewed Beef & Tendon with Noodle in Clear Beef Broth 清燉半筋半肉牛肉麵 ^ These two come with the same ingredients but with different broths: one is spicy (but not crazy spicy) and one is none spicy (clear broth). My personal favorite is clear broth because I don't eat spicy food and I tend to eat food that has a lighter taste. My friends enjoy the spicy ones! + Wonton in Red Chili Sauce 紅油炒手 - if you can eat kimchi, this is not spicy at all + Simmer Pig Ear 滷豬耳 - SO GOOD! + Soy Sauced Seasoned Seaweed 海帶 - kinda wish it wasn't sliced that thin but the taste is good! * Pickled Cucumbers 黃瓜 - average (yes you can skip this one) + Service was attentive and servers were friendly. Overall, Noodle Pot has become a "must visit" stop for me whenever I'm in Vegas. The portion is very generous for its price and I'm soooo grateful to discover this gem! We went to Noodle Pot because the original restaurant we wanted to eat at had a hour long wait. The Yelp reviews for this place seemed okay. Without knowing much more we made our way here. The sign out front says that they are the 13th best Chinese restaurant in America. The restaurant was small. It looked like it could've been the 130th best to me. We made our way in, and were seated in about 5 minutes. We ordered a couple of their spicy beef stew and tendon noodle soups, and a non spicy beef stew and tendon noodle soup for the non spicy child. The spicy beef stew was one of the best that I've ever had. The soup had a great flavor, yet not too spicy. Both the beef and tendons were tender. The noodles that they served were perfect. It made for a great noodle soup. The non-spicy beef and tendon noodles for the child was not good. She didn't like it. She ended up eating our spicy beef noodles. Service was okay for a restaurant like this. It's a good thing that one of the more popular noodle joints in Vegas was busy so that we could try Noodle Pot. They just might be the 13th best in America, at least for the spicy beef noodle soup. read more

Spicy Beef and Tendon Noodle Soup - Hot Dish - They have a small amount of fermented cabbage to make the perfect balance to freshen the flavor. Spicy in flavor only, it would not be too spicy for many people. Noodles are still tender and chewy, even after they have been sitting in the soup for 20 minutes. The flavor and quality is always consistently delicious. Beef roll - cold dish - ok flavor, pancake would taste better if it was crispy, portion size is great, cucumbers overtake the flavor. Seaweed Salad - flavor is good, but this is a simple dish prepared with cheap ingredients, so the price seems high for what you get. Very good service! We come here often and she saw that only one of us got noodles, so she brought an extra bowl (because sharing is caring). This is definitely a more local spot than for tourists because the interior isn't as clean as most restaurants (not to say it was dirty, just old furniture and a bit cramped). read more

Solid Taiwanese food in Las Vegas China Town. Prices are pretty reasonable-low and big portion size. We had the beef tenderloin and tendon noodle bowls, green oniom beef roll, the pickled cucumbers (soaked in spicy chili oil), and the minced pork rice plate. My review can only speak for what I ordered the spicy pig ear, stewed beef over rice, and beef roll. All were very tasty, stewed beef could have had a little more beef. Beef roll had the softer roll and fried egg cooked in the roll. I've always enjoyed coming to noodle pot. I'm sad that their Henderson location was short lived but will gladly make the drive out to this one. The service is quick, I never find myself sitting down and waiting a long time to get my food. The cold appetizer dishes are some of my favorite - pig ears, pork feet, pickled cucumbers, beef and tripe, pressed tofu - they're all excellent. The wontons with spicy sauce are also good. I could go on and on about the appetizers but the entrees are also good. Any of the beef noodle soups warm your soul. The fried pork chops are also excellent - even my picky kids will eat it. Meal here today was awesome! Everything we ordered was super tasty, with friendly service to match. I've only been to Taiwan once but flavor wise everything was on point from my memory. Honestly hard to even pick a favorite from what we ordered. - Spicy beef & tendon noodle soup: Broth was rich and delicious with a good kick of spicy heat but nothing overpowering. Which allowed for the super tender stewed beef chunks and tendon to shine flavor wise as well. Cilantro, green onions and pickled mustard greens add a nice touch of complexity. I always ask for extra pickled mustard greens wherever I order beef noodle soup. Just can't have enough of that extra acidity! :) - Pig ear cold meat appetizer: = Great little plate to split for the table as you eat but not sure you'd wanna think of this as a stand alone starter to a meal. Sliced super thin, the pig ear retained a really nice bite while at the same time being tender and chewy. Kinda like what you get when eating jellyfish or really thin sliced octopus. The chili sauce has the lovely mouth numbing Szechuan peppercorn heat going on, while the cilantro and green onion provide some solid cooling components. - Chili wontons: I just wanna describe these as little morsels of flavor explosion. They're soooo tasty and prepared to perfection. The wonton wrapper is super thin and tender which allows the flavor packed ground pork filling to be the star of the show. The chili (garlic?) oil is spicy but again not overpowering. And once again that lovely cooling cilantro swoops in right in time to make it's presence felt in the aforementioned explosion. - Beef rolls: What's not to love about a Taiwanese version of a burrito! Sorry I had to say it, I grew up in California after all :) Definitely the most tame thing we ate in terms of overall flavor profile but man was it good! The wrap itself reminded me a bit more of a Chinese bing/crepe, or a very thin and less buttery Malaysian roti, than the traditional scallion pancake style that I'm used to.... but I loved it! The thin beef sliced has way less flavor than it's stewed noodle counterpart but that lends for a great balance with the hoisin, cucumber, cilantro and egg. If I could award Michelin Stars, this place would definitely get one. Good typical Taiwanese type food made fresh. Their Beef Stew Noodles was full of meat with fresh hand pulled noodles. Broth had lot of flavor. Dumplings was fresh as can be. Skin texture was thin (almost translucent) and the filling was spot on. The Onion Cake was crispy but not greasy and their beef roll had good flavor and not oily. Not the best Taiwanese food I've had, but I lived in Taiwan for some time so I'm a little picky. Cucumber salad was a bit heavy on the vinegar and tasted premade instead of freshly made (the cucumber had soaked up all the vinegar). We took a quick stop here to get a bite to eat after our flight to town. We didn't have to wait too long for a table, as customers eat pretty fast and then leave right as they're done. All of our food was very tasty, but I'd just give a few suggestions for some of the menu items. The zhajiangmian sauce on my noodles was great, I just wished it had more meat. As for the Lou Rou Fan, I get it that ground pork is probably easier to cook, but pork belly is traditionally the kind of meat one would use for it, not a big deal though. The egg on it was delicious. As for the beef brisket in my noodle soup, It wasn't tender at all and I was chewing on it for a good couple of minutes. Having said that, the highlights were definitely the pork and chive dumpling, and beef roll. The dumpling skin is so silky and the dough for the roll was so thin and crispy. I absolutely love Noodle Pot! I came back twice within one month of my first time. Chinatown is kind of far for me, but I liked it that much and my boyfriend loved it too, even though I always just brought it home for him to try (to-go or leftovers). Some of their dishes are super delicious and authentic. I would say the best things I've tried here are: -Beef Rolls- Its light and tasty, but eat it fresh! :) -Clear Broth Beef Noodle Soup (make sure to get the one with chunks of beef vs. sliced beef) -Minced Pork over Rice- It was perfect and even had the pickled vegetables that I love so much -Eggplant over rice (comes with fried egg) - Super flavorful and has meat bits in it -THe spicy beef noodle soup was not spicy and lacked a savory taste. It's typically a soy sauce based soup, but it kind of tasted mostly like soy sauce. It wasn't bad, but the clear broth was significantly better. -The pork over noodles was not MY personal cup of tea, but my boyfriend liked it. I added a large amount of the spicy sauce that they have on the table at the restaurant. (I also added that sauce to the eggplant over rice. It was good!) -The pork-cabbage dumplings were simply okay -The spicy wontons have a similar problem of too much soy sauce. Perhaps add some vinegar and some of the "spicy" sauce that they have on the table. Parking can get crowded in this plaza around dinner time. Wow, stumbled upon this place and had the spicy beef noodles and it was so fantastic! Firstly, the noodles were cooked properly with just enough chew and the meat was tender. Most importantly, the beef stock was AMAZING! The perfect amount of spiciness to keep my taste for spicy food satiated--while not too overwhelming. The best part was it was tasty without being too salty--so you didn't feel thirsty afterwards. Plus it was not greasy like some spicy soups. It's been years since I have been here but food remains consistent and seems even more popular than I remember. The spicy pig ear appetizer was really flavorful and sliced very thinly. The spicy beef and tendon noodle soup was flavorful, meat and tendon were tender, and the noodles just the right texture. The spicy wontons were interestingly the smallest wontons I have ever seen. I'm use to cantonese style wontons so these were just okay. Meat texture was a little softer than I prefer. The pork chop rice was just okay, I would probably skip this next time. We saw how crowded this place was one night, we decided to come back when it wasn't so crowded. The space is small, about 9,10 tables and when we finally checked it out, we understood why it was jammed packed the night we walked by it. The food is VERY flavorful and frankly, it is the first Taiwanese restaurant that we really enjoyed. We ordered their wonton soup with noodles, a rice dish with cornish hen which was very flavorful and moist and the beef rolls which had tender slices of beef in a roti bread rolled. During dinnertime, there may be a very long wait--up to 30 to 45 minutes. Every item on the menu is mouthwatering and incredibly authentic. Eating in Taiwan gave me that impression. FOOD: We ordered the Old Beijing Style Zajiang Noodle with Pork, Stewed Beef and Tendon with Noodle in Spicy Beef Soup, and Wonton Soup with Noodle. The Zaijiang had a little too much sauce and the flavor was just okay. The Spicy Beef Soup broth was very flavorful, but not too rich. What a hidden gem among some great asian food options on Spring Mountain Road. I stopped here for lunch just after they open at 11 am and it was already packed! It's a tiny restaurant with just 8 tables, but of course good things come in small packages. I had to try the beef noodle soup, which was awesome. Rich, slightly spicy beef broth with tender chunks of beef along with medium sized Chinese noodles. It was the perfect bowl of soup on a slightly chilly December morning. We also tried the pork dumplings. I was full from my soup, but couldn't stop eating the dumplings as they are the style I like...the wrapper dough is not too think and just the right balance of pork and cabbage. I also liked the fact that they have a sign inside that said they were voted #13 best Chinese restaurant in the US by a restaurant ratings group (can't remember which one).
