    辣子鸡

First time at Fu Niu Tang Noodle Talk and I definitely got a bit of sticker shock when I first saw the menu. Most entrées run close to $30, with fish dishes mostly above $40. Luckily, the noodle soups are much more affordable at about $16 each, so we went with the Beef Stew Noodle Soup and the Hot & Sour Lamb Roll Noodle Soup, plus one order of 辣子鸡 (deep-fried chicken with peppers and peanuts). The noodle soups were both solid. The beef stew had very tender meat, while the lamb soup had a noticeable lamb flavor that might be a little strong for some. As for the deep fried chicken, the portion felt a bit small for the price, and I really wish the peanuts are more crunchy. Regular spicy was just perfect for our family. Overall, the noodle soups are definitely the best value here, but the other dishes might leave you wondering if the price matches the portion

Stopped by Noodle Talk on a Sunday around noon and was pleasantly surprised by how well they handle the lunch rush. The place was packed (clearly a popular spot in the area!), but we didn't have to wait long to be seated. Parking in the mall was pretty straightforward too, which is always a plus. The food portions are definitely above average - you get your money's worth here. Just a heads up: this is authentic Hunan cuisine, so the dishes can pack some heat! If you're not great with spicy food like me, definitely go with the mild spicy option. They were accommodating with spice levels. The interior has a nice, decent ambiance that makes for a comfortable dining experience. What really impressed me was how fast the service was, even with a full house. The staff kept things moving efficiently without making you feel rushed.Props to the restaurant owner for running such a smooth operation. It's not easy to maintain quality and speed when you're slammed, but they pull it off. Will definitely be back!

It's so good hahahah . We always come to this place and there are so many restaurants changed around it but it never got changed

I'm a regular at the Los Altos location and was surprised to find that the menus between the two locations differ slightly! Tried some new dishes here as a result, all of which were delicious: stir fried noodles with beef and shrimp, stir fried cabbage, mapo tofu, green onion rice with sausage. Loved the green onion rice and also how we were able to customize the spice level for everything. All the dishes were so flavorful! The restaurant interior and vibe, as well as the service, felt very similar to the other location- very quick service and a dependable spot for a great meal.

Marbled beef in golden noodle soup and spicy stir fried lamb

Very solid food for the price! We got the Marbled Beef In Golden Noodle Soup (with extra noodles on the side) and the stir-fried spicy lamb. I absolutely loved the noodles--lots of other goodies swimming in the light broth, including tomatoes, a solid amount of beef, wood ear mushrooms, cilantro, etc. We ordered the extra noodles which was basically enough for another meal :o The lamb dish was quite numbing-spicy, but paired with rice (and enough iced water to cool off your mouth), it's so, so delicious. An absolutely insane portion of lamb, but after a while, it did feel boring--since it was all...just lamb Service is that of a typical Chinese restaurant--no fuss. There was a bit of a wait to get a table. Inside, it's quite nicely decorated and there's lots of space so it feels very comfortable Would love to come here again next time and try some of their other noodle dishes! Big fan :D

Hubby and I had a nice lunch date at noodle talk. It's been years since we been here. They have remodeled a bit since then. We ordered: Beef tendon noodle soup: 4/5 the broth is very different from typical Taiwanese broth but it was very tasty. Spicy ground pork with sour beans noodle soup: 4/5 I was expecting the beans to be pickled but it didn't taste that sour. Broth was clean and tasty. I would order this again. It's nice to have a local place to get a solid bowl of soup.

Noodle Talk serves up Hunan-style Chinese cuisine. SERVICE/ORDERING Upon entrance, immediately to the left is the cashier/host booth. My SO and I were seated quickly on a Saturday evening around 6 PM. Water was brought to us soon after we sat down. One of the servers instructed us to scan the QR code to order items for the table. Paying the tab will be mobile, too. AMBIANCE The restaurant's interior is well-lit and has plenty of wooden-style dining tables, including family-style round tables for larger parties. There are cute seat pads on the chair to make it more comfortable. FOOD We craved certain items, so we didn't order popular Hunan-style items like many recommended. We should have, but that'll be for another visit back. * Green Onion Pancakes -- I had better. These were ever greasy and not as crispy as they should be. * Stir Fry Noodles with Beef -- The stir fry had good flavor. There was the Smokey wok flavor present, which is a must. The beef was tender and soft. There were plenty of onions and belle peppers to add to the dish. * Salt & Pepper Fried Fish -- This dish was one of the chef's specials on the menu. The fish batter was super crispy and crunchy. However, the fish itself was slightly bland. If you view the photo closely, the entree is topped with a lot of crumble seasoning of what I believe is salt garlic. This added the salty component, but it wasn't sticking to the fish. The entree was good but pretty greasy. Overall, it was okay. The items we ordered were greasy. The menu offers a lot of options. I'll have to try more Hunan-style dishes and noodle soups when I frequent again.

Really fun and enjoyable experience! Paid $56 (including tip) for four people for a large beef stew, small beef tendon soup, and beef stirfry soup! I loved the side dishes that they offered-- peanuts and pickled vegetables, it was delicious and paired well with the noodles as well as an appetizer. The beef tendons were pretty soft and I wish that the soup had more textures besides soft noodles and soft meat! The cilantro paired well with all the noodle dishes and the spicy beef stir fry is very spicy. The brisket is super chewy and delicious which was great-- but more variation in textures would be nice! I loved their steel bowls as it was pleasant to hold while eating. Definitely will be back in the future!

Beef Stew Noodle Soup (R1: 红烧牛腩米粉) [4/5]
    Izzie L.

An amazingly authentic place for spicy Hunan dishes! FOOD [4/5] ---------------- + Hunan Style Sauteed Lamb (M7: 家乡小炒羊) [5/5] One of the best spicy lamb dishes I've ever tasted. The lamb was amazingly tender and juicy. The mala spice was perfect! Not overwhelmingly spicy but a huge kick of spice. + Beef Stew Noodle Soup (R1: 红烧牛腩米粉) [4/5] I liked the spice in the soup. I would've liked a larger portion of veggies and meat. The noodles were pretty good. SERVICE [4/5] ------------------- Good service. Friendly and efficient. Needed to wait a bit to flag them down sometimes because they were busy.

Round 2! First time had family style and it was just okay, nothing crazy that would bring me back but this time we had as the name of the establishment would have it, noodles! We all got a bowl of noodles and my oh my, was it a lot better. Who knew "noodle talk" had great noodles. Go figure! Well maybe not exactly the best noodles but their noodles soups had great flavor and definitely satisfying your tastes. I got the pickles and fish noodle soup and my friends got the marbled beef in golden soup. The beef soup has a small and tasty kick to it, a lot more than the fish noodle soup which was good. Both very umami and kept you wanting to eating more. We also got a side of lamb skewers to share and wow, those skewers are actually pretty amazing. Probably one of the better skewers we've had. It was lightly crisp and had great flavor from the garlic and peppers. Don't really recommend coming here and ordering dishes, instead get their noodles as it is definitely the best things here.

Beef Shank, Sour Beans, Peanuts, Pepper Stir-Fry Rice Noodle

I wasn't too sure about this place when our group decided to go here for lunch, but I'm so glad they chose this place. They had a QR code on our table so we could each look at the menu and order directly from our phones. Note that once you add in your order, it immediately gets submitted on the spot. Also, make sure you check your order carefully because you can't edit/remove it once you submit. You'd probably have to talk to a server to let them know if you want to make any changes. I didn't know what to get so I thought I could share with my bf since I typically don't eat that much anyways. He ordered a small "beef shank, sour beans, peanuts, pepper stir-fry rice noodle" (衡阳牛肉卤粉). It was actually a small portion though, and I don't necessarily mean that in a bad way but in a "I could eat this in one sitting and be full but not overly full and bloated" kind of way. If you have a bigger appetite though, it's better to go with a large which is only a couple dollars more. The dish was absolutely fantastic though. The noodles were soft and flavor was A-1. Both my bf and I were still a little hungry after splitting, so we decided to order it again; this time a large :D so I think a small would have been the perfect size for me and a large would have been the perfect size for him. We also ordered deep fried buns for the table. These things were just absolute perfection. Crispy on the outside and incredibly warm and fluffy on the inside, and the condensed milk on the side...*cries* I'll be dreaming about this forever. I'm ready to go back for this. Highly recommend this place. I will definitely go back again sometime in the future.

Came in with a group of 8 on a Sunday around 7pm to try this place out. We waited for about 5-ish minutes in the cute boba store next door. When our table was ready, we walked in and I was impressed with the great lighting and decor. Our table was nicely set up and they give free peanuts + a spicy pickley cabbage on every table. They were pretty tasty :D To order, you scan a little QR code on the table and you pay via phone. They have a small handful of vegetarian options. My partner and I split a green pepper and egg stir-fry with noodle and I loved every bite of it! The stir-fried eggs + green pepper are sitting on top of the noodles so you will have to mix it up a bit. I have a pretty high spice tolerance and this actually got me sweating a bit lol but I really enjoyed the amount of heat and savoriness this dish packed. The noodles also had a bit of a chewiness to them, which I absolutely enjoyed! Also, shoutout to the staff members - They came all the way over to the boba shop next door to get us (lol), helped us take a group picture, and kindly provided us an itemized receipt upon request so we could calculate our payments to each other. Looking forward to coming back to re-order what I got and to try their other vegetarian dishes :)

The interior of very modern and well lit and decorated. I felt the aisle tables against the walls were very close together that it was hard to scoot in and out of your chair without feeling like you're disrupting the patrons behind you. Everything is ordered through the phone, so you don't feel pressured to order something right away if you're indecisive like me. While this alleviated that, it was hard to flag someone down if you needed something like extra utensils, bowls, water refill or napkin. But service was quick to bring out food out and to fill waters IF they're already doing rounds. The spicy beef shank noodle soup was numbing spicy and didn't really have "flavor" besides heat flavor. Once it cooled down, it was oily and tasted like the soup was just mixed heavily with satay oil. I thought given the name of the restaurant, the noodles were going to be bouncy or hand pulled but it was just regular vermicelli noodles, which I felt was very underwhelming and simple for what was supposed to be a "star" dish. The beef and vegetable stir fry noodle was good compared to the noodle soup, but I felt the dish was very oily, despite requesting for less oil. My favorite dish from what we ordered was the dry cooked green beans. They had a nice crunch to it. I felt pressured to tip at the end right at the moment when they were closing our tab. Normally, they would hand the check and place it at the table, give change and then walk away for you to tip. But the gal just stood there with the check in hand indicating that tip wasn't included yet until I gave extra to her and asked if I wanted change back (after I had already given her over what the bill was). Then she proceeded to walk away.

But when I saw that this far-from-ubiquitous chain had opened an outlet right near my home, I figured I'd try it. And I was pretty satisfied. First off, they have a lunch special, which is smaller than their regular combo. Second, you get two out of a choice of half a dozen shellfish: I picked clams, which are really easy to get the meat out from the shell, and crawfish, which aren't so difficult to extract the tail meat (the only edible part worth the trouble) from either. Comes with potato and/or corn. Third is that the food comes with not only a bib and a towelette, but clear plastic gloves. I put these on and felt no difficulty in eating off them, and they did keep my hands clean. I like that. Although there are two levels of spiciness below "mild," I found the mild to be not too spicy, and the Cajun seasoning was delicious, worth scooping up in my gloved hands after I'd finished the seafood. Not too large a meal - maybe next time I'll have a full combo - but tasty. Attentive service - someone was watching to see when I was done, and came over right afterwards.

They're good, but not the best I've had. With my combo 1, I got head-on shrimp and clams with the atomic sauce and mild spice. I heard the atomic was a combination aka Whole She-bang etc. which is what I normally get from seafood boil places. It was ok, nothing too special, very chunky sauce with lots of garlic. The mild spice, however, was really more like a medium spice as it only took a couple of shrimp to really feel it. For my head-on shrimp, most of the shrimp heads were already like detached from the body which defeats the entire purpose of it. They were also on the small side which I know it's by the pound but it's noticeable. It was very underwhelming in terms of that. The clams were good, not much to say about those other than they were absolutely drenched in the chunky sauce. Overall, this place is ok. Nothing really stood out to me compared to other seafood boil places.

It was actually the perfect group to test it. One of us had marinated crab in Boston and loved it, another tried it in Busan and wasn't a fan, and I was a complete first timer. We ordered the Soy Sauce Marinated Raw Crab, Beef Short Rib Soup, and the summer special Hwe Naengmyeon (Spicy Cold Raw Fish Mixed Noodle). The restaurant is spacious, and seeing that most of the customers were Korean definitely gave us high expectations. Service was friendly and our food came out in about 10-15 minutes. The raw crab came with a bowl of rice, quail egg, fish roe, roasted seaweed, seaweed salad, and pickled daikon. My friend mixed everything together for us like a pro. Soy marinade was well balanced, the crab had a soft, jelly-like texture and tasted really fresh, not gimmicky at all. My friend who didn't enjoy this dish in Korea actually ended up liking this version, and my other friend even said it was better than the one she had in Boston. As for me, I really enjoyed trying it for the first time. That said, it's definitely an acquired taste and probably not for everyone. If you're not ready to eat raw crab, I'd actually recommend trying the soy marinade with soft tofu or boiled eggs first because the sauce itself is delicious. The Beef Short Rib Soup came with tender meat, but the broth was just okay. Not bad, just not something I'd order again. The Hwe Naengmyeon, on the other hand, was really refreshing. It definitely had a spicy kick, the noodles were soft yet chewy, and the raw fish had such a unique texture that I honestly don't know how to describe it. Served cold with fresh veggies and half a boiled egg, it was perfect for a hot day. Also, banchan were delicious and free refill, our favorite was the Konjac noodle mayo salad and Gyeran Mari (Korean Egg Roll). Overall, I'm glad I finally got to try soy marinated raw crab, and I can definitely see myself ordering it again. Such a fun first experience, and I'll be back to explore more of the menu.

They are true servant leaders and I noticed they take care of each and every patron as if they were family members or royalty. Between the delicious food and the brilliant customer service, you better bet your bottom dollar that my wife and I will continue having our traditional Friday night dates at Cap't Loui!!!!

4.5 Stars Rating (:…read more Been hearing about Cap't Loui for awhile now, but haven't tried it until now! I usually go to Cajun Bistro for seafood boil, but I find the quality of the seafood there to be inconsistent, which made me want to try a new place. I got the 4lb combo with crawfish (frozen, fresh is $5 extra), shrimp, and clams, including corn, sausages, and potatoes. We also got garlic noodles and a calamari basket with cajun fries. For seafood boil sauce, we opted for the cajun instead of lemon pepper. I wasn't sure if I would finish everything, but it was INHALED. I really like the seafood quality here, but sauce-wise, I prefer Cajun Bistro for the garlic butter sauce. Cap't Loui does not offer that sauce, but it was still delicious overall. Service is timely and our food came fast, so thats a big plus. Only complaint I have here is that I wish there was more sauce in the bowl. The bowl had too much food, so I couldn't dip or soak my seafood in the flavor.

At the end of the meal everyone was satisfied so I imagine this is due to people wanting their meals like mom or grandma used to prepare them. Of note, the meat used was of great quality and there was no excess fat on my Bisteck a la Plancha. The chicha was very good and they did have staple soft drinks like Inka Cola. For dessert, try the Lucuma ice cream. It's my favorite but some people claim it tastes like dirt. I've had a taste of all their desserts by now and they are all worth a try.

I have visited the ine in San Carlos couplecyears a go.The interior is simple and features a full bar. We were the only customers in the restaurant when we arrived, which initially made us wonder if we had made the right choice. The menu offers plenty of variety. For appetizers, we tried the yucca, as well as the chicken and veggie empanadas. These were definitely the highlight--very tasty and well-prepared. Unfortunately, the main courses didn't quite live up to our expectation. While the presentation was nice, the flavor was just "so-so" and didn't leave a lasting impression. Because the entrees were hit-or-miss, I'm not sure I'll be returning.

If you like seafood and delicious/healthy sides this is a good spot for you. For food we tried the macadamian crusted salmon with tahini sauce with a side of the kimchi fried rice and sesame green beans. This was absolutely delicious and I really loved the sauce on the salmon. The kimchi fried rice and beans/brussel sprout veggies are always a hit so I would recommend those if you can. The mashed potatoes here are also delicious. We also tried the sticky ribs which was an appetizer which was not bad. I did not LOVE the sauce, but it was worth trying. Each rib did have plenty of meat though which was nice. Overall, always would recommend to try this spot!

Sure enough we met at the PC off Mathilda in Sunnyvale. This neighborhood sure has grown. Kal's BBQ was still there, my food service account about 20 years ago. I found the PC and parked in the multi level garage just behind the restaurant. Still an early dinner time at 5:15ish, I sat at the to wait and pursue the menu. Now I've eaten several times at the Mountain View location and enjoyed it very much. This spot, well seemed kind cold, empty and I was not approached in the 10 or so minutes I sat at the bar...menu's changed. Smaller or fewer offerings, ok keep focused on what you do well, cut some costs works for me. The kids showed up, still nobody So I grabbed three menus and sat us along the wall at a four top. The server came right over once we sat and we were good. Beverages were ordered and I had decided on the Seafood and chips with cole slaw and a dinner salad. A ordered two sushi roll plates. Aa ordered something but I don't remember. The food was out in good time, I was disappointed that my salad hadn't arrived before my entree....oh well. The salad had the house dressing, I typically ask for the dressing that is house made, I couldn't hear/understand what dressing she said. Anyway the salad was good, I liked the edamame beans as a topping garnish. The Seafood fish, calamari and coconut shrimp and spicy fries, good Looking further it appeared that the cooking time in the fryer was, well inconsistent. The Coconut shrimp cooked to almost burned which made the shrimp dry, spicy fries just a notch below burned but good. The two battered cod pieces, I'm not sure as the battered crust was not too sturdy and fell off the fish. Then the calamari seemed to be cooked just right, a bit on the lighter side. I still ate it all. I didn't eat the cole slaw, it looked as if it was from a few days ago, dry tasteless. As our table was cleared plate by plate I saw Aa hadn't touched his black beans. Now black beans are a favorite of mind, these were tasteless. Aa looked at me as I finished my bite of his beans and said "I didn't like them either". The vibe was not there as it is in MV, my own sense of things. If I didn't know the franchise I wouldn't return to this location, there's plenty of other places to get an excellent meal. See ya at the next place I drive to...thanks Foodguy-Martin.
