Came on a slow Tuesday afternoon around 4. Ordered the House Wonton noodle soup and my friend ordered BBQ Wonton noodle soup. It sucked, gross. This isn't the place to order soup. They ruined my love for wonton. It was filled with beef and the powerful taste of pepper ruined how it's suppose to taste like. The white meat chicken was dry, their soup was just chicken based broth . Left me feeling thirsty, I can definitely taste the MSG. Their egg noodles is too soft. Just because you call yourself Noodle World doesn't mean you can serve good noodles from all over the world. Pho is more than just some rice noodles in some beef broth served with some sliced meat. and the one time I made the mistake of ordering Pho from here, that's what I got. Soup was way too salty, meat wasn't tasty, and noodles, well it was over cooked. Yes people I love my pho, and if you make me a decent bowl I'll thank you for it, but if you give me some crap and call it Pho, well I'm going to rip you a new one. Noodle world is one of those places that everyone loves. Chinese? Japanese? Vietnamese? Thai? They have it all. Although a Tad pricier than normal SGV prices, I come here for their tom yum noodle soup or their pad see ew. In fact, this place has the best tom yum I've ever had in my opinion. Spicy spaghetti and Hi nam chicken are the two dishes I come here for. It could very well be the best dishes they have. Till I have the intestinal fortitude to try out other items on their menu I can't say they are the best two dishes. I know Noodle World serves desert and slushed/fruity drinks, but I'm never inclined to get any because it seems like the typical deserts/drinks that are around the area. On the other hand, if it were frozen yogurt, the story would be different. The only slushed drink that I tried there was the Taro slush with bolba, which was foreign to me, but delightful. Noodle World is a fairly casual environment. It's more of a go-eat-and-hang-out spot than a fancy restaurant. The service is fair to above average. Whenever I'm in the area I have to stop by here and get a honeydew smoothie with boba. It's so YUMMY. Why can't I find a place where I live that has honeydew? The food it just average. i have to say, the parking lot sucks. maybe it's the clientele. they don't know how to drive or park in Alhambra. it's like being in a foreign country! but the food here is good and the selection is awesome. i usually get the spicy spaghetti. it's good! really! but the pho is not the best. the rice dishes are not bad. and the boba is yum. they're open late which is awesome! but they get super crowded and the service slows down too. but the food comes fast and the check comes faster! good if you're not planning on spending a lot of money or time on a meal, but definitely not a place to come to relax. read more

Noodle World is a blasphemy to Asian cuisine everywhere. My friends have a far too long running inside joke (of sorts) that has forced me to eat here for years. They have a giant selection of food, none of which is better than mediocre. If you do end up here and want to forgive yourself for wasting a meal eating bad food sooner rather than later, I suggest ordering the spicy yakisoba (greasy and bland, but not too terrible), the spicy spaghetti or perhaps the pad thai (which is far inferior to most dedicated Thai restaurants). Somehow, despite the fact the food sucks, it is always busy. As a result, along with good, old-fashioned incompetence, Noodle World really brings terrible service to a new low. This place used to be good. Their food now are just okay. I got the Thai Boat noodle which was decent enough and the portion was pretty damn huge. Also got the Thai Iced coffee and it was a total let down. It was pretty bad. I wouldn't order it again. Next time, I"ll stick with water or something at this place. Not a big fan of the big cafeteria style set up but eh, it fits more people and I guess they're just concerned about packing more people in and getting them out as soon as they're done eating. This was the place to be if you grew up in the SGV and you were all hanging out with the "cool" or "thug" asians. I went here a few times when I was still in high school. I would always order the Pad Thai, or the Thai Chicken, or when it was pretty cold, a nice big bowl of Pho can make you all sweaty. I've been going here lately with my girl, along with a few family members. The food practically tastes the same, the same crowd basically goes in there, but I've been venturing here and there throughout the menu experiencing several fried rices and even some noodles, but you can never escape your own personal favorites. I really don't like to go here often because the service sometimes is so slow. Besides the fact that the side walk and the entrance before you walk in is covered by a wide variety of cigarettes and chain smokers, it's still a pretty cool place to hang out, even for a late late night dinner. read more

I always order noodle world pho when I come here, but isn't that their best dish? The waiters and waitresses are not too friendly, especially those at the counter... They're ignorant even if you're the only customer. I encountered a terrible waitress and she sort of pissed me off, but okay. Another dish that I really like here is the spicy laht naht, or something like that ;) Even though this place also serves Japanese ramen, it's really nothing compared to those Japanese ramen places, so don't waste your time eating ramen here. They're better known for Thai and Vietnamese food. This place closes late so that's a plus! Even though the service is bad, I would still come back for some noodle world pho! I've never acknowledged noodle world till I've gone 3x's this summer! It's not a die hard place where I rave about, but it's probably the best restaurant to go to in the valley when you are hungry and it is super late! The portions are more than enough, one plate is huge and worth the price. I am a sucker for the spicy spaghetti, even though I still paint it with siracha because I don't taste the spice haha. Anywho, the tom yum is good as well; basically recommend the thai food they offer. I commend the workers who keep up with the hectic hungry hippos who pack the restaurant at around 6-9pm. Ok, here's the good about Noodle World. Its open really late. There's a huge menu of basically almost every type of asian food you could ever want. Its got a boba place built in. You usually don't have to wait long. That's pretty much it. The food is ok. Not horrible, not mind blowing. They only take cash. They have an ATM in the front, but really, why am I going to use that ATM when it will charge me $5 to get my own money out? There are so many good asian restaurants around this area, so try one of those! Go here when nothing else is open. Ordered the Crispy hainam chicken and the plate was cold when it got to my table. I asked them if they can give me another since the chicken was cold and so was the rice. They asked me if I would like a new one or reheated. I asked them politely to give me a new one. When I got my order again, I knew it wasn't a new one but the same plate reheated. I love Noodle World. It reminds me of weekends with my sibling and parents. We will go to Alhambra to eat after the Mall usually Sundays. I believe the menu had more items back then but they still have a great variety of noodles. They have pho, ramen, soup less noodles, rice , everything! It's delicious. So a group of my friends and I finally went here, none of us really knew what to expect except for noodles. Most of us joked around and when the food came out we were all quite excited. We all tried each others dishes and we were all satisfied. However, one of my friend was still hungry because everyone ate everything off of his plate, so he decided to order a different dish. He ordered.........rice. Everyone yelled at him for ordering rice at Noodle World. The rice dishes weren't that great. So my suggestion is that if you go to Noodle World, stick to NOODLES!! This place is poppin' on a Sunday night! They're open late and apparently the only place open on a Sunday in the area. Jesus likes to give people Sundays off, I guess. Anyway, I went with a friend of mine and she got some sort of salad. She really enjoyed it. And I got a Thai tea float and a cappuccino float. HEAVEN IN A CUP. Wow! You gotta try it. One of my favorite 626 eateries who's biggest flaw (and only a deterrent during extreme times) was being cash only. As of a few months ago, they now take card! w00t! Everything here is pretty good, including the Noodle World Pho even though New Noodle City (also good) is right next door. It's hard for me to deter from my usuals of the spicy spaghetti with beef, or the Hainam fried chicken with an extra order of fried egg on top, but I've sampled almost everything and still enjoyed it all. The vast choices and the consistency of yumminess make this my go to recommendation for out of towners who want some 626 level food and are a bit indecisive or don't know what they want. Service is hit or miss, sometimes good, sometimes mehs, but never terrible. The mug when you ask for hot drinks doesn't have a handle, so be careful. Never have I seen a more accurate Yelp rating or analysis. 3.5 stars is the perfect description. The food is delicious, but the customer service is really pretty awful. First, the food. I got Japanese yakisoba, and if all I was doing was simply rating the food, this might even be 5 star worthy. on the price to taste to quantity ratio (PTQ ratio), it is practically flawless. All dishes were enormous at a price under $10. Furthermore, it wasn't a portion that was disgustingly large, just extremely satisfying and almost itis inducing. O, and the taste. The noodles were spectacularly cooked. Mildly al dente, with a length neither too long or too short. The portions of noodles, meats, and vegetables were also on point, as no ingredient was overused. I never felt as if I had to ration out my bites of meats or vegetables to cover all the noodles, or vice versa. And the sauce. It was never overpowering or taking any of the flavor away from the main ingredients like the noodles, meats or vegetables. Everything simply worked well in harmony. Now for the customer service. First off, to give them the benefit of the doubt, they were horribly understaffed. It looked like there were only 5 waiters for the entire restaurant and that includes bussers. So it took what felt like forever to receive any type to service. Beyond that, I never received a water. Our entire table got waters except me, and when were ordering the main dish, I asked for a water and soda. I had to ask nearby waiters four times for my soda, and some of my table-mates asked for the water an additional three times. I didn't receive the soda until 40 minutes after my food was delivered, and the water never came. All I can say is if you plan on coming here, you should definitely come with people who you can cheer you up, otherwise the service has a solid chance of ruining the taste you experience. 3.5 stars is a rather befitting rating, and while I did truly enjoy the food, I don't know if I'll be coming back anytime soon. P.S. if anyone in management reads this, I would recommend you raising the prices of the food by a dollar or two so you can pay for at least 3 more waiters/bussers (that's how understaffed you are). read more

I usually stick with the Chicken Pad Thai, or the Beef Pad See Ew. They're both delicious! During the colder weather (yes, it gets cold-ish in LA) I sometimes go for ther Pho. Also, really good! Asian Fusion --- Spicy Spaghetti!!!!! My Fave! It just doesn't taste like any other spaghetti I've ever had.... and #106? Steak with rice. I've been a patron of Noodle World for more than 10 years now. They don't offer the most stellar dishes but the portions are great (usually can feed two people with one entree) and you can't beat the pricing. So why do I rate them five stars, you might ask? Just yesterday, I went with my kiddos and husband early in the evening. The visit was nothing to rave about; sat down, ordered food, ate, and left. The surprise would come five hours later when we realized my husband had left his wallet at the restaurant! Other people can generally agree what an ordeal it is to lose a wallet. Our situation was no different. We're talking driver license, atm card, and a substantial amount of money. We rushed over to the restaurant and after a few minutes of nervous pacing, the current manager on duty, Anek, presented us with my husband's wallet. With everything still inside. So, yes, I am not reviewing about the food but mostly about the service. Anybody could've walked by the booth we were at and taken the wallet and we would've been SOL. However, the staff here were honest and so kind to hold onto it for us. You cannot imagine the relief we felt. Thank you, Anek! You and your staff have our utmost gratitude! read more
