Been here a couple of times with friends/family. Very relaxed and casual place with lots of variety, does justice to it's name - Noodle World. Top 3 dishes: spicy spaghetti with beef - very addicting Rad nah - get the thai style version (from their old menu). it comes with green beans, mint and bell peppers. Noodles are cooked with the perfect amount of wok flavor (which is rare to find in restaurants). Hainan fried chicken - different spin on the traiditional hainan chicken dish. love the rice, love the fried chicken, love the sauce! yum! The only downside to the place: understaffed. Had to constantly flag waiters down for refills, check, etc. Its obvious that the current waiters are all over worked, constantly running around, trying their best to reach every table...but the place is just too huge! We have been coming here for a few years now...and while some inconsistencies have occurred in the past, today marks the first truly unappetizing dish that we had to eat. Now, I know that it is very difficult for restaurants to cook consistently every time. However, Noodle World is on of those places that keep on fluctuating---and like today, our experience demonstrates that characteristic. We ordered the combination fried rice (the usual), and today, it was bland and cooked as if the cook hd been rushing. We decided to try the Charbroiled pork chop---and realized that we had made a HUGE mistake. Quite literally. It was huge, but almost half of it was just fat. It didn't taste charbroiled, more like it was marinated and stewed into a SUPER SALTY and sweet mess tht had the whole family spitting it out. And that marked the first time we had ever tried a dish THAT bad.The Thai Bowl Noodle is perhaps the only dish that we found as good as it usually is, with a strong broth and tender meat. What was I thinking??!! Customer service was good, they were nice and attentive. Given how busy they were I did get my food very quickly. Unfortunately the food was inedible, whoever is cooking, doesn't care that they're churning out slop. If customer like, good if customer no like, good. I ordered a pad Thai, and it was mushy and bland with huge pieces of chicken thigh meat just thrown in like whatever. I ordered a " pork wrap" and after a couple of bites I packed it away. I have been coming here since i was a kid, before the restroom was renovated and they had a movie poster of Aliens by the entrance, and a power rangers movie poster where the restrooms were. (nostalgic thoughts just had to run through) And for as long as I can remember, their food has been great, but their customer service has been horrible!! Me and my family come here for birthdays and for lunch and dinner whenever we want to save money and we know the drill with what to get but omg I swear we have to like flag down 6 different people just to get a few things! For example, we came one night with a big party and me and another family members food wasn't out yet. while we were waiting my mom would try and ask for napkins, extra plates, and utensils and our waiter would just walk by us, sometimes look at us but just keep walking so she flagged down a woman and she said ok, and never brought it and she flags down another woman and the woman told another waiter to get the items for her! seriously?! so back to our food, 45 min passed and it still did not come out and I asked my waiter to check on it and he said ok and i never saw him after that, another person came out with our food -____- Overall, it does get packed, the food is good but some days it isn't. I've been to place many, many times throughout my lifetime because I grew up in this area. I've eaten many dishes here and today I'm not too sure why I felt inclined to write a review, except I guess to warn others about the transition from what it used to be to what it is now. What's stayed the same is the quality of the food. Generally, their food is probably one of best around here with respect to noodles (more generally the dry ones). Their spicy spagetti, pad see yew, and pad thai are arguably the best around this area. I got it a lot back then, and i still get it now. The drawback? I'd definitely say their cleanliness. This place is a lot dirtier now than it was before. I got seated at a table that was sticky and still had residue left over on the chair and table from the previous diners, yet the employees still seated me there. There was also a few food scraps on the tray where they put condiments from the previous eater. The thing of it is, most of the times i've been here this past year has been like this. However today, what inclined me to write a review was probably the fact that both me and my girlfriend found paper in our water. Whatever. Still decent, and I still will come back. read more

The noodle world combo meat pho...nasty!! Meat tasted gross. I barely could stomach it. The flavor was old. Never returning again.

Used to be my go to place for quick asian noodles or rice dish. Love me the huge pork chop rice, the chicken mint leave, the soup noodles are delicious such as the wonton noodle soups with bbq pork, the pad see yu. I can pretty much name all my favorites but you get the point. Now they also have their our boba drink which are pretty good as well. Dishes are big so don't be stingy and share all the plates and enjoy. read more

I have not gone to this Noodle World in years, but I thought I'd give this place another try. The reason why I didn't return in so many years? Today, I remembered why, it was the service. The service was completely TERRIBLE... I came in on a Sunday night, it was just my boyfriend and myself. We waited about 10 minutes for someone to notice our existence, another 20 minutes to bring out our drinks, and of course almost another 15 for our food. The restaurant wasn't even that busy, I saw some servers wandering around instead of helping us out. We also noticed 3 tables adjacent to us with parties of 5 or 6 on each table. They ALL sat down AFTER we did and they all received their food AFTER we even got ours!!! So why did it take so long for them to process our food orders when a party of about 15 got their food, drinks, and service before we even got noticed??? What's worse was my boyfriend's food was a dry vermicelli bowl, it's not even like it was a fried plate, or a pan fried plate, the food was practically just plain noodles and raw veggies. So we waited almost 45 minutes for pre-made Thai tea, a pad Thai, and a bowl of raw vegetables and vermicelli. Our food arrived when all 3 of the other parties were pretty much done with their meals...*surprise surprise* Why one star? It goes to the manager, B. John. He was the only person who was nice and attentive, service with a smile. Thank you. I've been a server for more than 5 years and this is probably the worst experience I have ever had. I have been coming to Noodle World since they opened when John owned and ran the place. He also owned Lannathai in Sherman Oaks. Historically great food. However typical contempt for employees who were underpaid depending on their immigration status and definitely overworked. The unhappy service such as it was for the most part was prompt but if you came near the end of shift you could tell they were worn out. Cant give them a five because of their shoddy treatment of their work force. but the food is good and the prices were more than reasonable. Best time to come is at the opening for lunch. read more

Been going here for almost 20 Yrs. What can I say? A true icon in comfort food across the San Gabriel Valley and Los Angeles Area. I discovered Thai Iced Tea with Boba for the first time back in 1992. My favorites here are Beef with Chili, Pad Thai, Spicy Beef Salad. New dishes Ive discovered are Grilled Pork Chop over noodles, Papaya Salad, Tom Yum Soup. I dont think I can get enough of this place. To start off, the place is pretty big and looked clean. My sister came into town and wanted to try some noodles, so we found this place close to home. As first timers we want to say the service was not great, just because as we walked in it took about ten min for someone to come to the front and sit us down. Second of all to get our orders, well that was a bit more time. Even for water. And mind you, It wasn't a busy day, so you would expect a bit more attention.. Just a little tip, if you like your meat well done, you need to tell them. This only happened to me once but one time I ordered the pad see ew and the beef was very undercooked. Food is bomb and all but don't tell me my order for to-go will take 15 minutes when it's actually going to take 30+ minutes and I didn't even get a receipt after I paid so when I go up to the counter to FINALLY get my to-go that I see just waiting on the table, I told another lady that my to-go was ready and she needed proof which I did not have and kept asking me what I ordered when I had already told her 3 times - spicy spaghetti with tofu. VERY poor experience here. Came here on a weeknight and the place was packed. I was eager to try this place since they have so many options to choose. My only complaint about this place is the FOOD. I ordered the spicy spaghetti and was disappointed to find that it was NOT spicy at all. In fact, the taste itself was so bland I just couldn't finish it without adding pepper and siracha sauce on top. We also ordered the vietnamese pho and was SO DISAPPOINTED that the vermicelli was entirely broken into little strands. It was difficult to eat them because the chopsticks couldn't pick up the short strands, so we had to resort to SPOONS. The pho soup base had an incredibly HIGH FAT content. You could see globs of fat floating on top of the soup. We had to scoop out all of the oil and fat from the top into a bowl before we could even try it. I've been here for dinner and had lunch here today. I come back for the food, but although it is quite good the service is gradually becoming even more horrible when it "use" to be good. It took about close to twenty-five minutes until the waiter finally approached our table to ask for our orders. Thirty minutes later after the wait, our food came out but they had forgotten the other half of our order. Our table ended up waiting for another Twenty minutes because we thought that they were not finish making the rest of our food. However, the food was actually already done and was waiting to be taken out of the kitchen, it was finally brought out right the second after we reminded one of the waiters. This place gets extremely busy during the daytime and evening. Customers are often ignored by the waiters because they are always rushing and running around to grab other customer's orders. It is extremely hard to get their attention and that is the downfall to this place. When our table was finished and ready to go, asking for the waiters to To Go our food and bringing the bill was also a difficult task because it took a long time until we finally caught the attention of a waiter. Once they arrived with the To Go food, the waiter immediately ran off to do something else and had forgotten our check, which we waited for 15 minutes to catch their attention and reminded them again. They lied it down splat on the table without saying anything, but at that moment we were just happy to have gotten our check since we wanted to be able to finally leave the place. This place is good for their food, but if you wanted something that does not take an extremely long time and a smooth time at a restaurant than this place may not be the place to go unless you have a lot of free time. Also, the waiter failed to mention that there was an ATM inside the restaurant so I once had to drive to a near by bank to withdraw some money. However, maybe that's because their ATM doesn't work, but I'm not sure. So just make sure to bring Cash if you go because this place doesn't take credit or debit cards. read more

Geeez, we eat here a lot! My 5 and 8 year old boys choose it as their top spot every time. Here's why we love it: -Awesome food! So many choices and sooo flavorful. Good for large groups because there is something for everybody. Our go-to favorites: Garlic Chicken, Hainam Fried Chicken, the Chicken Curry!!!, and oh gawd, the Pork Chop!!! You HAVE TO get the Mango Sticky Rice for dessert! -The price is right! Huge, to-share, portions at about $8 each. A group of 4 adults would do fine with about 3 dishes w/no left-overs. - It's huge! The wait is never more than a few minutes at it's most crowded. If you've got kids with you, they can get a little loud and no one will really notice (high ceilings). Here are some things we just accept: - It will take a couple of runs around the lot to find a parking spot. - Your food does not come out all at once. If you were not planning to share, good luck with that! - Sometimes it takes a little bit for your server to catch up with you. They seem to be ok/used to you flagging anyone down for what you need, so don't be shy and it ends up being ok . Just accept the interesting "serving style" for what it is, and you're set. I hate to admit it, but I truly love NoodleWorld. I think we San Gabriel Valley people take this place for granted. When the wait is too long at Jazz Cat or Boiling Crab, there's always Noodle World. The most you'd ever have to wait is 25 minutes. When we can't think of a place to eat at, we go to Noodle World. Because they serve almost any asian dish you can think of. Vietnamese, Chinese, Thai, Japanese, and Korean? wait I'm not sure about Korean... but whatever, Noodle World has it all! Thirsty? The have a huge beverage menu which pretty much has the same variety of drinks of a boba place/cafe. They even have shaved ice and yogurt! The service is okay, most of the time they're nice even though the place is always packed. My favorite dishes: Pad Thai, Pad See Ew, Thai Boat, Spicy Thai Spaghetti, and Beef Steak w/ rice. I don't know what to say other than this restaurant confuses me. The major issue with this restaurant is that it is slightly schizophrenic; it doesn't know it's own identity. The confusion started from the moment we walked through the front door. I wasn't clear myself whether I was supposed to wait to be seated or to order at the counter and sit. This was due in part to the fact that the front counter of the restaurant is also an ordering spot for boba. Additionally, I saw a sign for "Can Noodles" behind the counter and began wondering which restaurant I was in. Or was I in a boba shop?! When someone finally saw us, and seated us, I began to notice the decor. There is an astro burger boy statue hanging off the wall from prior occupancy on one end, and on the other I noted Spanish style plant paintings lining the wall. Talk about an identity crisis! The space is huge, and even though the restaurant was not filled, they are definitely understaffed. On a positive note, the menu was extremely extensive. There are noodles of any type you could want, including: Ramen, Pho, pasta, Trieu Chau Chinese noodles, Thai noodles, stir fry noodles of different ethnicities. We tried the spicy stir fry spaghetti with beef and the Hu tieu trieu chau (rice noodle soup). I have to say the Hu Tieu was slightly disappointing, mostly because the flat noodles in the soup were thicker and tougher than a quality Hu tieu should be. It makes me question whether the plethora of choices are all mediocre. The spicy spaghetti was actually quite good and I would recommend to try it out. In all honesty, even though it was a bizarre experience and the food was mediocre, I'll probably be back just because there are so many choices that haven't tried yet! If you can't make up in your mind what you want to eat, check this place out because they'll have just about anything you could want in noodle form! read more

This is my mom favorite place to go for thai food. We love their spicy pan fried, laht nah, and spicy spaghetti. Beside tom yum, I don't recommend getting other noodle soup. Their broth isn't flavorful. Drinks are ok but the boba isn't soft and chewy. Week days are pretty empty but weekend it does get a little crowded but usually the wait isn't too long. The service is either a hit or a miss depending on the days. So don't expect too much. I usually just order takeout to save time. read more

I have known Noodle World for more than 15 years. It is more of a Thai restaurant. Thai food is more of their specialty, Vietnamese, Chinese, Japanese food here was/is never up to standard. Food (Thai) at the original old location used to be decent (3.5 star), but now is simply not good. If there is a contest for the Worst Thai Food in Los Angeles, I would vote for Noodle World. True that the service here does get better now ; however, prices of dishes are more expensive than other Thai restaurant in LA and again worst of all is the food quality is just not good any more. The usual story for my wife and I is - I want this, she wants that, we don't know what we want! Which leads to "I'm not hungry anymore, I wanna go home!" Been coming here for a while now, so I figure a review is long overdue. You'll notice that this place is really popular as you look through the windows and see the seated tables and waiting line inside. And probably for a good reason. They offer decent food with a large menu selection at fair prices. Plus, they're open late unlike a lot of other restaurants nearby. I like that they their menu offers different noodle and non-noodle dishes from many Asian cultures as well as western style food too. My personal favorites here are the spicy spaghetti (which I smother with tons of sriracha!) and the pad see ew. Service is also pretty decent and attentive too, although I find that they take a bit longer than necessary to bring out your drinks. The only thing I can complain about is the parking situation. It's almost always packed and I'm sure it's because this Noodle World is situated right next to a Boiling Crab, which doesn't have a very large lot of their own and the street parking sucks. So the Boiling Crab customers come and park here. Yes, they are assholes. Pro-tip: I recommend the spicy spaghetti and pad see ew. You really can't go wrong with either of those two. read more
