The first time I came here to eat was with my friend and his family. Parking g was okay. They have their own parking but they do get full. We ordered so much food since we were about 8 people. Went here the other day for lunch with my sister because I had business in L.A. and she said it was good. We ordered the Spicy Spaghetti and the Pineapple Fried Rice. One dish is plenty, so two dishes was a bad idea. The spicy spaghetti alone can feed two people. This place didn't change a bit though....this is a pretty big place - lots of booths and tables...use to be a Big Boy like years ago. One thing I do like about this place is the selection of noodles! - definitely holds true to the name "Noodle World" - they have Vietnamese (pho and vermicelli choices), Japanese (udon, ramen and yakisoba), Thai (pad thai, pad see ew, etc) and also chinese noodles and soupless noodles. they also have rice dishes and appetizers. So the menu is definitely extensive for noodle choices. They also have many choices for drinks and even shaved ice for dessert. I had the Spicy Yakisoba with pork slices - it was pretty good but it wasn't really spicy. My bf ordered the Pad See Ew with beef - I was surprised that the beef was pretty tender. The food is pretty good and the portions are generously. The service isn't bad - I mean our waitress was pretty good - up until the end she totally forgot my TOGO orders. But I could see that she was managing about 6-7 tables so I didn't blame her...she was also apologetic too. The food is fairly priced - the total for the two orders we had plus the three dishes I ordered TOGO was around 40 dollars. I used to come here all the time with my friends when we were in high school even from the time we started college and started working. The food quality is not how they used to be and the service is horrible. Took 20-25 minutes to give us a table. Had to get our own menus from the front. We called 2x for someone to get our orders then took another 25 minutes for our incomplete food to come. We were waiting for our drinks and had to asked 3x and ignored they literally just looked at me and walked away. Finally our milk tea and Thai tea came and informed the guy that I asked asked for a water with lemon as well and he just looked at me and left. Minutes came by and I got a glass of water without the lemon and I was talking telling him I asked with lemon but he just took off. I asked a waitress for a lemon and she said "sure" but I saw her went straight to the cashier and started talking to the guy there at the register and never came back for my lemon. Most of my ratings for eateries center on the availability of vegetarian food, and Noodle Planet isn't very good in that department, although you can order some dishes with tofu instead of meat (fyi: the veggie udon is in fish broth). This place has the exact same menu as Noodle World down the street, and both are cash only, but I prefer Noodle Planet for two reasons: 1) The slogan "best noodles on the planet." 2) It used to be a Bob's Big Boy...and it sort of still is. The Big Boy statue inside still proudly holds aloft a burger, and there's also a small collection of Big Boy toys. I don't know what the "Mars Attacks" poster is for, but hey, why not? Noodle Planet also has a big boba bar in front, with all sorts of flavors and pearls and what appears to be konjac. I am terrified of drinks with chunks, so I can't vouch for the quality of their boba. For those of you with hiatal hernias like me (anyone? Or plain ol' reflux?), the spicy dishes will hurt you and have you keeled over. Make sure to ask for them to tone it down. read more

The location changed since I've last been here, so my friends and I go to the old location w/o looking at the sign because the FREAKIN LOGO is exactly the same!!! We walk in and we're like, "umm, this place looks nice now, there's folded napkins!" We got our menus and realize it's THAI WORLD!! We all look at each other with dropped jaws. So we devise a plan to escape (I don't like to walk out on restaurants after we've been seated). So my friend calls my cell phone to fake a call and I pretend to sound distressed and tell the waitress we had to leave. Well... we drove down the street and found the real NOODLE WORLD! Even in a larger location, it was still packed and parking sucked, now this is more like it! The location has alot more room and "looks" cleaner. The menu hasn't changed so we're back to normal anxiety levels. I always order the same things when I come here, either the spicy spaghetti, the yaki-soba, or the the tom yum noodles. The spaghetti being my favorite. It's pretty much pan-friend asian style spaghetti. The yaki-soba is extremely GREASY! But it's fairly tasty as well. The tom yum is good for colder nights when I wish to sweat, very flavorful. It's open late on weekends, perfect after a night out in LA. How is that related to Noodle World? I really really wanted to not like Noodle World. I thought, 'Shouldn't a good restaurant focus on one type of cuisine? The group I came with for lunch this weekend ordered the Thai Panfried noodles, a tofu Pad See Ew, the seafood Tom Kah, the seafood Tom Yum and the pineapple fried rice. I harbor some affection for that Tom Yum dish. I'm not usually a fan of lime and much along the sour spectrum, but it really came together with the rice noodles. Both the pan fried noodles were good solid dishes. For a moment, I thought they tasted similar, but it might be because four outta five of our dishes were rice noodles. That flavor might've gotten repetitious to my taste buds. I found the raisins added into the pineapple fried rice to be a nice touch, but like with all great food, I would've liked more meat. :) I didn't try the Tom Kah. Low points to the meal included very very slow service. (Funny, food came out in a timely fashion but can't you get my water faster?) They extremely need more waiters. I also found a piece of chicken bone in my food, but strangely, I wasn't too bothered. I liked Noodle World, but I'm in no hurry to come back. There are too many good restaurants in SGV that I'd prefer to support. And I'm still a skeptic. To be honest, I'm going to keep looking for a reason not to like you someday. A lot of reviews were raving about the Pad See Ew, so then I ordered it but came to a quick conclusion that it's not all that... The flavor was so light and the veggies were so sparse, that I just felt like I was eating Beef Chow Fun which is a very basic Chinese dish. My friend ordered the Spicy Spaghetti which turned out to be mediocre just like any old spaghetti. Not sure what all the fuss is about, maybe because I like spicy noodles. The food that is served at this place is as expected. There are Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese, Japanese, and a bit of American too. I came for the pho and it did satisfy my craving. It wasn't the best of the best, but it was overall an 8 out of 10. The broth was good, the meat was decent..though it had quite a bit more fattier pieces than I wanted. Had to throw those out. The beef salad was pretty good. It was a bit saltier than I remembered it, but still overall pretty good. We did wait a while to be seated even though there was a lot of seating. I have been told that this isn't the best nor the most authentic place, but overall you leave satisfied and the food is good. I've gotten the drunken noodle and the beef ramen. Both were very good. Service is quick and friendly. The negative and positive is that they have a ton of choices. This is great if you are going with a group of people who all know they want noodles of some kind but you cant decide on what kind. If you're craving noodles, you know where to go... It was pretty crazy the variety of noodles you can find at Noodle World. As much as I appreciate the options, I think it would've been best to have stuck to a specialty. Unfortunately, our group didn't exactly venture too far off course in terms of types of noodles. We had noodle soup that consisted of egg noodles and seafood, stir fried thick rice noodle with beef and stir fried egg noodle. I think they were all pretty standard dishes, nothing too out of this world, but not bad either! Seemed to be quite the popular place as well, with lots of families and groups of local teens having lunch. And for a busy place, they were pretty on top of it service-wise. There is a little language barrier sometimes if you're calling to order on the phone but that's not really a problem for me. Food: I really enjoy the beef spaghetti! My boyfriend usually kills it so fast because he loves it. The satay hand rolls are also pretty good. I recently for the lettuce chicken wrap and it was yummy! Nothing to complain about the food. HAHAHA WE GOT SO LOST TRYING TO FIND THIS PLACE! There's like another noodle world or something down the street or before. I forgot. It was a while ago. Anyway they have a few interesting choices you can choose from. I looked mostly at the Thai choices though and I was somewhat comparing it a restaurant I normally eat at - which made it even harder for me to choose haha because I'm picky about Thai food now since so many Thai restaurants aren't authentic now a days. Finally I decided to get the yentafo. Had better but this was still decent. Someone in my group got the Thai boat noodles, mmm it didn't look so tasty.. My boyfriend had the Noodle World Spaghetti - I think- haha. It's just like the chili and mint leaf pan fried noodles / pad ki mow just with spaghetti noodles! I thought it was an interesting fusion and it was actually really tasty. Haven't been back since the first time because it's such a long drive but when I do go back, that's what I plan on ordering. For dessert I think we ordered the frozen monster shaved ice with fruits thing. Noodle World is a late night pan-Asian cafeteria. There's a little bit of Thai, some Vietnamese, and some Chinese dishes and while NW won't knock your socks off in terms of flavor, you can find a favorite or two and pop in real late for a pick me up meal. Of the dishes I split with a friend, I wouldn't mind getting the Hainam Fried Chicken again because it was crunchy, plump and juicy. Also, the papaya salad wasn't bad, although it was a bit too sour. Still tasted refreshing, so it's not a bad choice. The beef Pad See-Ew tasted a little livery to me, and although I love my organ meats, I don't appreciate their flavor when it's unexpected. And the Thai iced coffee was extremely thin on the strong coffee part. The place was packed as it was nearing midnight and I can see the appeal, but I'm not clamoring to go back. read more

This place has been around for ages since I've lived in SGV. There was a time when there was both a Noodle Planet and Noodle World neighboring each other, and now they have combined as one to just Noodle World. I have been a long customer of this place because it is so close and because of the food. Their pho is actually not so great, especially in an area where you can find good pho anywhere along Valley Blvd! But, what always keeps me coming for me are their large portions and the infamous SPICY SPAGHETTI!!! Other popular dishes they have are their pad thai and pad-see-ew, though I must warn you they can be pretty hit and miss. They can be either a bit on the bland side, the too flavorful side, or just right! I've been wanting to go back to Noodle World because it reminds me of a similar concept chain in Chicago (Joy Yee's - originator of the fruit drink craze in Chitown and also has a food menu that is expansive across all Asian countries for both rice and noodle dishes). I had a major pho craving so ordered the rare steak pho with tendon and the BF tried the infamous spicy spaghetti with seafood. We saw that they had Thai wings so ordered that as well. We saw the size of the entrees at the tables and knew we didn't need the appetizer but prices were low and hey, there's always take out! Food came out relatively quick but unfortunately, it was all pretty disappointing. My rare steak was completely cooked (like rock hard dry) in my pho, the broth was not steaming hot and the noodles were just in one big massive clump. Broth itself was just plain. This Pho did not help hit the spot. BF's spicy spaghetti was also just ok - although it did taste a lot better the next day reheated. Thai wings were just ok - everything was pretty bland. Great amounts of food for the price you pay but quality is just eh (joy yees is so much better). There's definitely room for improvement - its so crazy in there: - yes, parking is horrendous - yes, crazy wait even though they have empty tables - they need to hire more waitstaff and busboys (i didn't even see a busboy - the waiter had to do everything) - yes, its cash only. why?!?!?! but they do have an atm on the side.
