Extra shoutout for the cucumbers. The way they do they is truly deeeeelicious. I would reserve a room in advance. They told me there's no need to preorder the banquet menu as well, if you want an easy, set last minute big meal!

I was introduced to Noodle World years ago and have been coming here on and off since they were down the street and this was Noodle Planet. Being the pasta / noodle whore that I am, I really like, or dare I say, love this place. With 64 different noodle dishes, 18 rice dishes and 24 other salads and appetizers on the menu, there is PLENTY to choose from! And boy it's a good thing I don't live closer! If I did I think one of two things would happen, either: A. I would get tired of it because I'd be eating so often... or B. I would gain 30 - 40 pounds. I suspect the latter. *wink* DÉCOR: For the first bunch of years when this was Noodle Planet it looked like an old Bob's Big Boy from the 70's... because it was. When it transitioned from Noodle Planet to Noodle World 4 years ago, they did a great job of remodeling and updating it, bringing it to modern day with bright colors. But don't worry, the Bob's Big Boy statue still sits high on one wall keeping an eye on everything. SERVICE: A server usually comes by a few minutes after you are seated to get your drink and food order (if you are ready). After ordering your food comes out quickly, less then 10 minutes. If you need anything after your food arrives, 90% of the time you have to flag down someone if you need or want anything else, but it's not a biggie for me. FOOD: I had the soupless Charbroiled Pork Chop Noodles. I've had this many times and it's one of my favorites! (YUM YUM!) My friend had a crispy noodle (chow mein) dish with seafood. He said it was very good. I've had a number of different dishes over the years and have always been pleased with 1. The quality and flavor of the dish. 2. The portion size, esp for the price. My rating? 4 stars for the food and 2.5 stars for the service. I've been here many times and I know there will be many more visits in my future! read more

If I were to write this review on food alone I would give it 5 stars. I've dined in a few times and the wait is usually a little long but this place is packed so I get why. However we order take out from here a lot. I really love the ability to call in the order and pick it up in 15 min. The problem I have though is that they can't seem to get "to go" orders right. Even when we place the order in person at the counter. I have had my last 4 orders messed up in one way shape or form. It has cost me multiple trips back to this place to fix the mistakes they make. Funny thing is the receipt taped onto the bag has the correct order. But they fail to put the right order in the bag. Or they put incomplete orders. I order pho and they almost always forget the Baggie that has the lime, mint, sprouts and jalapeños. What is pho without that? Even when we have become aware that they forget the bag and I ask if they included the bag they have told me yes only to get home and find there is no bag. Just now I ordered the seafood chow mein with shrimp only. It's correct on the bag but I opened it to find chicken. Like what?! I have spoke to the manger before and have asked for a refund or coupon or something. And the best they have ever done was a free milk tea. Really? I don't even like milk tea 9 just want my order right. They really need to up the level of service for the dine out customers. read more

After a lengthy hiatus, I decided to revisit Noodles World in Alhambra, a place I once loved. To my dismay, the standard of both food and service seems to have plummeted since my last visit. 1. **Pad See Ew**: This dish was just passable, leaning towards the sweeter side. It lacked the complexity I remember, falling into a middling category of neither good nor bad. 2. **Boat Noodles**: A signature dish that now disappoints profoundly. Presentation was off-putting with a bloodied stick adhering to the bowl's exterior. The noodles, once a delightful experience, were served ice cold and utterly devoid of flavor. It was as far removed from their former glory as one could imagine. 3. **Beef Salad**: The beef was alarmingly dry and thinly sliced, bearing an unsettling resemblance to crunchy beef jerky rather than a juicy salad component. I'm giving 4 stars only for my server named Pearson, the guy with the tattoo on his neck for being so nice to us. We actually ended up walking out because it took us almost an hour to wait for our order although I totally understand that it was really crowded and maybe they didn't expect it to be like that since yesterday was thanksgiving day. I just like how Mr. Pearson have handled the situation when he even offered us on the house (OTH) drink which I refused to die to my disappointment! Btw, we were first given Ramen which I actually returned because it was too salty!!! And that's like 15 to 20 mins before we finally decided to walk out and pay our fried tofu to the front cashier and for the record we were table #9. And our first server which I didn't get his name was somehow not nice because when Mr. Pearson took out our soup when I told him to replace it because it was too salty, our first server went back to me with the soup which was already bus-out and trying to argue that I ordered that soup and not the other soup and then o told him to try that soup which was very salty! This place just renewed their greasy and sticky food menu booklet! It's awesome. Not only does the squeeky clean menu make you feel a little more comfortable in eating here but it seriously makes you want to order EVERYTHING. They incorporated new food photos to their menu to increase indecisive foodie's stress level. I recently discovered how tasty their Garlic Chicken and House Tom Yum Noodle Soup are. Now, they're the top dishes I would only order every time I visit Noodle World. All time favorites have to be their Spicy Spaghetti and also their Pad See Ew with extra Broccoli for only an extra dollar! I can't say it's the most authentic place for your classy taste bud needs but for the variety of Asian dishes and decent price they offer, you really can't go wrong. All in one sitting you can enjoy a little bit of Thai, Vietnam, Japan, China, and then a little bit of Monica is all you need. The staffs are friendly and attentive when you ask for it! This place is extremely dangerous! I almost got killed at the parking lot! When we trying to leave and backing my car in the parking lot, there is a white car run to our back and block our way out. We locked all the windows and doors, that gangster ran out of his patient and took the weapon of his car and start banging my car window. We were all screaming and crying. After he found out the car was impossible to break in, he went back to his car and ran away, it was a skinny white guys wearing reflective vest and a hat. There was a restaurant guy at the back door using water spray cleaning and saw the whole thing, instead of helping or call the police, he ran away himself! I call the restaurant for help, they said they will send someone to help, but we never received the help! Not only the place was unsafe, the food is also disgusting. I had pictures as the evidence. Garlic chicken. Garlic chicken. Garlic chicken!!! I just can't really get anything else here. Although I have tried other things like pho and other rice dishes... and they really were quite good.. but I just keep coming back to garlic chicken. It's unbeatable. This is a great late night pick. Food always comes out quickly and the taste is very decent (even good for some dishes... like garlic chicken!!) for the price. It's well worth it. =) And there are, I don't know how many other Noodle whatevers on this street. But I swear that this is the one where you will get seated the quickest on a busy night. Maybe Chinese people are terrified of Bob's Big Boy decor inside the restaurant. Whatever it is, I'm glad it's less busy at this particular locale! =) Oh yes.. heed those CASH ONLY warnings. Best place for big appetite. They serve huge portion dishes compare to other thai and asian casual eats. I visit this restaurant whenever I miss their Thai Boat beef noodle soup. My best way to eat this noodle soup is adding sugar into the soup. Yes, you heard right. the sugar somehow will do the magic. Also, Rad Na, Pad Thai, Stuff Chicken Wings and Fried Tofu are highly recommended. I used to ordered Hai Nan chicken rice every visit until this particular dish gone worse and worse since years ago. The chicken is over cooked, and the rice used way too much water to prepare become unpleasant to eat. I still order Hai Nan Chicken Rice once every 3 to 6 month and see if there's any improvement, still, no improvement found yet. Who in the hell would have "Bob's Big Boys" statue in an asian shop? Go figure. Anyways.... if youre hungry late at night and you absolutely no other choices but to come to this joint go ahead but then again i would rather go home and sleep it off. Oh wells... on with the food. Tolerable, whats not is some of the servers freaking attitude acting like wannabe gangsters. Ok i get it its probly not your job to seat people but at least acknowledge them when theyre standing there waiting for someone to say "hi" at least or "someone will be with you in a moment" instead of ignoring them even after you had eye contact. Yeah baby, the noodle world spot in alhambra is such a fun place to eat at. They have a HUGE variety of asian noodles for you to choose from. Even though the food is not like the best food around, the variety makes it really fun to eat here. It's like going to a big restuarant that makes everything. If if you have annoying friends that always complain they don't want to eat certain things you do, just take them here. They'll shut up. Anyway, I always order the thai dishes here, it's pretty good. Whether it be the pad thai or the pad see ewe. The Thai tea is good too. I've only tried the Vietnamese dishes here, and it's not that good. I rather get my pho at a Vietnamese restauran. Noodle Planet has become a regular lunch spot for me in Westwood. They have a very extensive menu and large eating area so even during the busiest times there are still places to sit. From classic chinese soups to incredible vietnamese Pho soups this place really does have it all. And when i crave for noodles and i want variety, i always ask my sister to bring me to noodle world. i like their pad thai.while my sister order the crispy chow mien , beef satay and the ramen. There are rice meals too. The serving is generous. their price is just right , because of the complete ingredients on every dish. I used to eat here regularly. especially when i was younger, just becasue it was cheap. The food isn't bad but it's not the best ive ever had either. The decoration of the place is very bland. Very very bland. But i guess the main focus for this shop wasnt on the decor, but rather the selling price of the dishes, along with the portioning of the foods. i tend to order pad see iw with vermacelli noodles, and they usually give me a really big portion. Usually the place is filled with alot of kids. immature highschool, or wannabe gangster thugs, which doenst really help with the already drab environment. if you're looking for a place that is open late everynight and are on a budget, head over to noodle world. read more

Came back for my usual -- the rad na with beef, Thai style -- and I'm happy to report: nothing has gone sideways. You're welcome. The portion size is still generous, delivering that full-on flavor bomb moment that reminds you why you keep coming back. The beef is a different cut than before, but honestly? It held its own. Not a deal-breaker -- more of a plot twist with a satisfying ending. The wait was minimal, which means you won't have time to second-guess your order (not that you should). There's genuinely not much to complain about here, and believe me, I looked. Well, last night I went to Noodle World and I was highly disappointed! Damn! I felt like I was on display because there was so many people staring so hard at me and my friends. I know I am not Asian but damn its just a lil rude to be staring at someone when they are trying to eat. Some people have no manners! Also, when I went to buy their frozen yogurt I had to wait for almost 10 minutes to order and I was the first person in line! My friend was getting mad because some EVIL lil girl kept staring at her chest! She is Asian but she has a very large bust... which some Asians do not have. It was not a good night. This is definitely a must try for all ramen lovers! Several varieties of sides and appetizers to choose from! Soup base was so on point along with the miso garlic, chili oil, and garlic chili paste mixed in with it. This was our first time coming here and it's a pretty far drive from home but we were in the area and decided to try it, we arrived 2 min before they closed but they welcomed us in and didn't give us much attitude for coming in last min (which we never do but we couldn't resist our cravings lol) so we'll def be coming back, despite of the drive.. one of the best ramen spots I've been to. read more

We usually go to the noodle world Pasadena branch along Colorado. Last Sunday we decided to have our lunch at noodle world for EASTER celebration. But this time the one at Alhambra. The food is fairly good, although the place was kind of crowded, maybe bcos it was EASTER Sunday. After eating I went to use their bathroom and to my DISMAY... Toilet papers everywhere, trash can filled with toilet papers, no paper towels filthy floor. OMG!!! Was there anybody assigned to check on the sanitation of this place? Please... Thai style seafood fried rice: it is slightly spicy, the rice is well cooked and seasoned. Not too many seafood, but the portion is still very good. Really recommend this, not a typical fried rice to find in Chinese restaurants. Kung pao chicken: the chickens are not diced in to cubes, but into large strips (which is unlike the traditional dish). The meat is tender and has a good amount. It is slightly spicy, but mostly just savory. The service is great, everyone is very friendly and helpful. It's a great place for just day-to-day Chinese food.

Juicy Pork Dumplings - the dumplings were at par with any other XLB. It did not stand out that would compel me to come back. 16. Spicy Wonton - I wanted to love this, but I didn't. Essentially it is a conventional Wonton you would find in a Wonton noodle soup. The sauce, just chili marinated oil aka chili oil. No tang, no zing, and no sweetness. I wish they did change the dressing so it did have something that stood out. The chili oil was very bland that I had to use my homemade chili oil. 22. Roasted beef noodle soup - This was another dish I wanted to love, but couldn't. This is not your normal beef noodle soup. It is Mama Lu's own twist and I understand that. It has a subtle taste of schezwan peppercorn, which iykyk leaves a numbing sensation. Although super subtle, it just removed this soup from my expectation of being a beef noodle soup. It should be named Mama Lu's noodle beef soup. The noodles are very thin as well. 76. Pork chop spicy salt - If you never had anything spicy salt i.e. squid, shrimp, chicken or pork, you need to order this. Good portions and good flavor. This is a banger. Trust me. You made it to my concern of ordering online. Alhambra has a very elderly asian demographic. The pricing of the food is at par when you look at the menu and order in person. Pricing should be affordable as the elder folks should be able to purchase nostalgic food. Look at my receipt and compare it to ordering online. The prices are completely different. Some items range from an increase of 0.25 to more than 2 bucks when ordering online. Do yourself a favor, order in person or call it in. With the money you saved, tip the hard working staff.
