Delicious and fast pho, though the price is just a teeny bit more than you might find say in China Town or a more predominantly Asian neighborhood. For ten bucks, though you get a delicious bowl of random meat parts, veggies and delicious broth the size of your head. One of my goals has been to find a go-to Pho place around Lisle area since I moved here about three years ago. This pho place is not there yet but pretty close to my expectation. It is a small place with about 30 seats. When we walked in around the lunch time in this year's first snow day, this place has reached it's full capacity. We were seated on the last empty table. I ordered the traditional pho beef noodle soup and my friend went for spicy beef noodle soup. We also shared the mango salad. The mango salad was full of flavors: sweet, sour, and spicy. It was very refreshing taste to wake up my taste buds. My pho came in a hug bowl with a small plate filled with bean sprouts, basil and a piece of lime. The broth was clear and tasty. It was slightly on the salty side for me. Sliced beef could be a bit thinner for me. I usually eat the meat with the red spicy sauce on the table which might not be the authentic way to eat those but it taste really good. This was a perfect meal for a cold snowy day. My friend liked her spicy noodle soup with a round rice noodle. She suggested I should try that next time with the pho noodle. The service was pretty good but slow due to the full house with one waiter. And it was cold inside. I was one of quite a few people eating the whole meal with the coat on. Today we came in to have our favorite pho ga ( chicken pho ) and to our surprise the chicken wasn't steamed it was grilled cut chicken breast!! It was soo good! I checked with the owner and this is permanent change, from now on they are seasoning some grilled chicken breast on the pho ga! I'm going to come here more often now! The Pho Ga is great, especially in the winter for a nice warm up, I like the vegetarian egg rolls, calamari and shrim tempura appetizers. I had the bahni mi before, and it was pretty good. The service is good and the place expanded along with a more modern looks since I've been coming here. Alright, here I am writing yet another review of a Pan-Asian restaurant and my hankering for Bun. Bun is vermicelli served with grilled meat (your choice), sweet pickled veggies, cucumbers, mint, basil, bean sprouts, and fish sauce. Quite good and light. It is typically served with peanuts as well but I leave those off. I normally will not even come close to to eating the fish sauce but tried it here. It's not bad. It's a little stronger than the one served at Joy Yee, but still not bad. I say this with ample room for comparison as my MIL was born in Vietnam and knows how to make this dish and the companion sauce like the back of her hand. Let's just say, I can smell hers before making it to the kitchen, it does not come anywhere near me due to smell, and I certainly cannot bring myself to eat it. Bun tastes just peachy w/o the heavy fish sauce. The Pho is definitely NOT what I am accustomed to but wasn't too bad in a pinch. I think they might add sugar to the broth but cannot be sure. We also got some kind of load of hooey when we tried to order egg rolls. Since I order my Bun w/o peanuts the waiter came back and said that he wasn't going to be able to make egg rolls for us because somebody in the kitchen pre-made the filling and put peanuts in it. ??? I think he just didn't feel like making them- but oh well. Anyway, the food here was quite decent. Since we live quite a ways away from this restaurant it's a good place to eat when in the area. My friend and I went to grab an early dinner at this place in Lombard since we were craving Vietnamese food and this was the closest place to where we live. My friend has been here numerous times before and he said it wasn't too bad for Vietnamese food in a predominately white area. I got the #150 (with egg noodles) and my friend got the pho. Overall, my bowl of soup egg noodles was decent. The broth was flavorful but it was a bit too oily for my liking. There was imitation crab meat and I did not really enjoy that. The noodle was yummy but not as crunchy as I am used to with my mom's homemade. Overall, it was just good enough to temporarily satisfy my cravings for Viet food. The pricing for these meals are a bit steep and I am not used to it but then again, they have no competition around them so they can charge as high as they want. The restaurant also serves boba and various other Vietnamese dishes like family style dishes, bun bo hue, banh mi, etc. I probably won't go back unless I am reallyyyy craving Viet food. Was not expecting this place to be a traditional restaurant. I was assuming it would be similar to noodles and company. Not so. They offer a nice variety of foods. Customizable options. Their lunch special was a lot of food for not a lot of money. So that was a positive. Their boba/bubble tea selection was pretty nice. The food was also pretty good. Tasted fresh that's for sure. Customer service is lacking. I've never been here and the waitress probably just assumed I had. I didn't know what was good here. Or what to expect really. I was handed a menu and expected to know what I wanted. The waitress came back and asked what I wanted. We waited a long time for our check after we finished eating. Pho seems somewhat rare in these parts so when you see a great name like this, you have to wonder. The staff was very welcoming. It wasn't busy at the time so they were very attentive. I already knew I wanted to get the pho with the most variety so I went with #121 Pho xe lua. The food was prepared pretty quick. I dropped all the fixings in a dove right in. The broth wasn't anything special, but supported the noodles well. You get a good variety and amount of everything. However, I usually like the thin beef slices a little rare so the broth can cook it when your mixing everything. Nonetheless, it does the job to quench your pho phxinig. I found Noodles Pho U while searching for good chinese food last September and have been happy with them up to this point -- from September 27 to December 2, I've placed a total of 10 orders with a total value of $484.80 -- not including tax, delivery charges, or tips. With that kind of order history, in most cases I'd expect to be treated like a valued customer! Instead, half an hour after the expected delivery time from the order I placed online yesterday, I called the restaurant to ask for an update on the delivery time. After being on hold for a couple of minutes, someone -- I assume it was the manager -- came on the line and told me that my address is outside their delivery zone and therefore he had cancelled the order. I was offered no explanation for why the delivery address had been acceptable on nine previous occasions over the past couple of months, but was suddenly not; nor was I offered any explanation for why, after placing so many orders, they couldn't even manage the courtesy of CALLING to tell me that my order was cancelled. All I was told was that I "should have received" a notification of the cancellation from their online order provider, but in fact no such email had ever been sent. Seriously, Noodles Pho U. Have some respect for your clientele. If you're going to arbitrarily cancel the tenth order being placed by one of your customers, have the courtesy to make sure they are AWARE that you're no longer going to serve them. read more

Spicy Goodness. On one of those not feeling so great days, some pho seemed like the perfect medicine. 'Pho Chin Bo Vien' was the admittedly randomly chosen remedy, and was a vastly flavorful meaty noodle-packed spicy soup carefully balanced with jalapeño, bay leaves and lime. To accompany the pho, the 'Flaming Dragon Breath' smoothie; a blend of mango and sriracha chili sauce that was a refreshing mix of icy sweetness and a fiery Dracarys blast to the back of the throat. This was the first time I had pho and it was delicious. It is a nice spot. Bright and clean dining room. One side has carry out the other has table service. I went on the recommendation of the waitress and tried the Pho Tai Nam which is 'eye of round slice and beef brisket.' The broth was so delicious so many flavors perfect amount of saltiness it comes with basil lime and sprouts on the side. The only reason I couldn't give it five stars is because the beef just wasn't very good. It was tender but just looked grey and stringy. Maybe this is common but I am definitely going to go back and try some of their other dishes. They also have Bahn Mi and other soups as well as fried rice and even things like pad Thai and stirfries. The salt and pepper tofu was really bland and not crispy at all. The vegeterian banh mi was meh. I've had much better. Stopped in for a to-go order on a whim. I ordered the Pad See Ew. On the menu it said under the name Pad See Ew "(choice of meat, green veggies, soy sauce, pineapple sauce)". I am not a picky eater per se, but as said in When Harry Met Sally: "She likes it how she likes it!" So, reading the parenthesis as MORE soy sauce added, drowning the dish in my mind, I ordered it as "no soy sauce." The woman taking the order clarified and repeated my order. Then she said "I think it's cooked in soy sauce" to which I said that was fine, please don't add extra. I am not against soy sauce used sparingly and am not allergic, I just like my dishes light on sauce and salt. After I sat down to wait, the woman who took my order came to talk to me. She explained exactly how it was cooked and offered chef suggestions for modification. I thought that was really nice!! If this HAD been someone with an allergy to something, I think it's great they go out of the way to double check! She was nice about it too, she didn't act irritated at all. I got my order and I loved it: nice thick noodles that were not too salty nor drowned in sauce!! The green veggies were nice and fresh. Very pleased and definitely will return! Kevin and I tried this place a few months ago and I can tell you that the best thing about their Pho, is the broth (sort of). I tried the Pho Chin Bo Vien and Kevin tried the Pho Xe Lua. I'm used to more simple Pho soups that just have the beef ball but I decided to explore a little bit and got the Pho with beef ball and Shank. Kevin was super explorative and got the Pho with Shank, Beef Ball, Tripe, Eye Round Beef, and Soft Tendon. The Beef Ball was probably my biggest disappointment. The texture of the beef ball was rubby, super chewy, and looked fake. It wasn't tender and tasteful. The beef ball here also gave me heartburn and an upset stomach. Definitely won't be back here. The staff is friendly and I probably need to go back for a more relaxed visit since this time I was just popping in for spring rolls. Ya'll, these tofu spring rolls are the weirdest thing ever. It looks like ham! So very much, that I asked the lady like 2x to confirm that what was presented to me was in fact tofu. She said it was tofu that came on a log or a roll like a ham, and I dunno- although it was good, I just had a hard time visually getting past the look of it. They have a large menu and I've tried a good amount of it; I was never disappointed. My favorite thing (although pricy) is the smelt fish. For entrees, I'd go for the beef cubes. Their boba is decent. The selection is relatively small but fun. The flaming dragons breath is a highlight. The Pho isn't to die for but it's a good time if you're not like a pho aficionado. It's a weird relationship I have because I feel like the notes they should be hitting are being missed but like I said, the smelt fish = yahs. Aside from the food, they've got a great wait staff whose polite and attentive. The dining area is clean and open. Very pre-modern feel. Check this place out. It's cool. 3.5 stars I ordered the dinner special sweet & sour chicken, which came with fried rice and a crab rangoon (price was 7.95). The sweet and sour chicken had a lot of sauce doused on it, and did not have a proportionate amount of rice with it, so I was left with just chicken about halfway through my meal. My friends ordered the pho, and said it wasn't too bad (price is about 9-11 dollars). Every person gets their own plate of bean sprouts, basil, and limes, albeit it is a small portion. I also ordered a peach black tea with tapioca pearls, which cost about 4.60. They don't put as much tapioca in it though, and for 65 cents you would expect more. Overall I paid about $15 for this meal, which I think is waaay too much for what I got. I probably won't be back again, unless my friends drag me here to get pho. The upside is that they do allow each customer to pay individually, so you don't have to worry about splitting the check. read more

All my friends and I go to for a quick bite. Great selection of different dishes and pretty good pho too, not the best I've ever had but gets the job done. Smoothies are also very refreshing and they have a lot of ingredients to create your own or you can order one of their creations (the Hello Kitty is so fun ). I've been impressed with most of the items I've ordered. Love the pot stickers and shrimp spring rolls. However, don't recommend the udon soup pretty bland. Only con is service can be a little bad at times. Could spend 15 minutes trying to get someone's attention to pay the bill. So make sure to get all your requests in at once because they won't check up on you through the meal. But overall I recommend with the very convenient location and something that everyone will enjoy on their menu. read more

Noodles Pho U, why do you refuse my love? I've tried, oh, how I've tried to love you! But you keep pushing me away with your inattentiveness and your excuses. You give me the wrong item and blame a new employee. You lose my order, but say the order system failed. You forget to pack one third of my order and you blame (yet another) trainee. I've forgiven you dozens of times in the last year and given you chance after chance to rebuild the trust we once shared, but you keep doing me wrong. I have been completely faithful--you are the only pho for miles around--there is only you. If your pho were the greatest pho I'd ever tasted, maybe I'd still be hanging around, risking another heartbreak pho one sip more of your broth. But you ain't all that! Yelpers, if you live or work around Yorktown Center and have a need for pho, Noodles Pho U will fit the bill. If your order is not lost, is correct, and makes it into your takeout bag, it will satisfy your craving and the quantity for the price seems fair. The place had some times of spotty service in the past as they were trying to expand, but they seem to be past all that and totally have their act together now. My first few visits years ago they definitely had some service issues and some subpar dishes, but we now come here probably ever other week (and have been for the past couple of years), and it has been consistently great. It could be that some dishes they do well, others not so well and we've figured out what is good here and get the same thing every time. I recommend staying away from appetizers like egg rolls. The stir fried noodle and rice dishes they do a great job with. The pho is just OK, but their wonton soup is great. We always get the pad see yiew and the teriyaki baked rice with beef. read more
