But I'm mentioning it because we ordered it. The chicken karaage were good chunks of chicken. Not like other places who give small chunks. My wife liked it because it had more chicken than batter. Service - The Place had good service. The food came out on time. Servers were checking up on us without hovering or being overbearing. They paid attention when we called asking for help. I was listening to the workers, and they seem to like being there. I mean, "work is work", and no one REALLY LIKES going to work. I'm pretty sure we'd all rather be someplace else besides work. Maybe I caught them in a good mood, but, it genuinely seemed like the moral in the place was good and the people working there that night didn't mind being there. Vibe - Small, family vibe. I liked that there was buzz but it wasn't loud. When we came, most of the people there were older, but as we left later in the evening, a more younger crowd started lining up and coming in. The broth in the tonkotsu ramen was rich and flavorful. I loved the firm texture of the noodles. They were very generous with the amount of crunchy garlic on the gyoza, which I loved! Definitely a solid spot if you're craving ramen. Service was quick and friendly, and they made sure to clarify that the cold tantanmen was brothless to ensure we were getting what we wanted.

I'd say that the broth is pretty good (light broth is gentle to the stomach), and the noodles were cooked well. You'll probably miss the fatty chunk of charsiu, but they now have pulled beef charsiu instead which is stringy and just as flavorful :) Service was friendly as always and they were very attentive to our needs. Ambiance is a bit more upscale than their previous Ward location, and definitely larger. Will come back again to try their Otoko-Meshi items, overall just glad that they're back!

They used to have a wide variety of ramen flavors but now reduced to 3 ramen flavors. I used to be big fan of the spicy which I'll miss but seabura and the beefy wild is good. I ended up getting the beefy wild. The taste a d presentation of the ramen has changed too. The ramen noodles if I remember correctly were a little thicker but I dont know if its been a while but it does feel thinner which i do actually prefer it that way. They removed some toppings, notably bean sprouts from the ramen. Not really fan of bean sprouts so not a big change I'll miss. The beef char siu was still flavorful as ever, but instead of it being a big chunk of meat it was presented shredded in the ramen. Service was fast and attentive and gad an overall good time. Would come again to try their other stuff on the menu. It was a soft opening, but I hope they add more ramen flavors variety like the spicy ramen, and bring back the way they used to have their char siu as I preferred to take a big bite out of the juicy beef in my bowl.

Nothing was spicy but there was chili oil on the table if you wanted to add more heat. We got 2 nonalcoholic spritzers, one lilikoi and one hibiscus, which were each refreshing and complimented the meal. Since the service was so efficient, after eating, we still had time to zip over to Magic Island to stroll around, take in the scene and enjoy the sunset before heading back to the airport. The biggest issue, however, wasn't the wait it was the outdoor dining experience. Sitting on the patio felt like being dropped into Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds. Every imaginable bird seemed to be there: little birds, big birds, one-legged birds, scruffy birds, sick-looking birds, and fearless "gangster" birds that stared you down and swooped in the moment food hit the table. They hopped onto empty chairs, circled the tables, and constantly tried to steal food, making it impossible to relax and enjoy the meal. I understand that outdoor seating comes with the occasional bird, but this was on another level. The restaurant should consider better bird deterrents because the constant interruptions took away from what was otherwise a very good meal. If you order takeout or sit indoors, you'll probably have a much better experience. The food is worth trying, but unless the bird situation is addressed, I wouldn't choose the outdoor seating again.
