When you think Nordstrom, you don't think food, but I do. I only live about 2.4 miles away from the Flagship store. You go downstairs, head to Mens Furnishing - but don't go all the way to Men's Suits. You will find the Grill. The tomato soup is always good, and especially the crab bisque is worth the trip from your office. The crab bisque, served with sour dough bread is lovely. The fish and chips are always good, so it the cobb salad. The wait staff are always friendly, and sitting at the bar is always fun. It is busy during the workday lunch hour, but the rest of the time it is not that busy, since there is the cafe up on 3 which is much more busy. I like to call in an order to go. It is ready within 10 minutes, and they are always friendly. They always ask on the phone if I'm an employee. Evidently employees eat there as well. Always a good sign. If you are staying at a downtown hotel and don't know where to get some good food without breaking the bank, go to Nordstrom. Take in the anniversary sale while you are at if it is the end of July. read more

I ordered a French onion soup and crab mac. Onion soup was extremely salty to a point that I didn't even able to have my soup. Crab mac was below average at most. Cheese sauce was extremely thin and watery. I was trying to grab a quick meal but I was hoping for better food. read more

Probably the best meal we had in Seattle. Salmon sandwich was good and not oversized. Crab mac and cheese was great. Fish and chips were good, better than Elliott's. Hostess was slow, bartenders just looked past us while we stood around for a seat, only few minutes, but our server was great. He seemed to be the only one hustling. read more

I have been a regular at the Grill and upstairs Cafe for years and am so disappointed in the menu changes. In the Cafe on the 4th floor 4 out of 5 entrees listed were listed as spicy. How does that work for the average person, not! As for the Grill downstairs today, just awful. Our fish and chips arrived just as we were about to start our first course of soup and salad so they had to sit there and get cold. The fries were soggy and anemic looking, the same with the bee r batter on the fish. Thusly, It felt like we were being rushed to eat and leave, not a nice feeling. The only saving grace was that the entree was so bad we didn't need to eat it so did leave. Not going back to any Nordstrom's restaurants until they clean up their act! read more

I have been enjoying Nordstrom restaurants in many locals for years. The new system is dum, plain and simple. Especially at this location. Really a 20% tip for servers who honestly have hardly anything to do. They don't take your order, they just deliver it. They bring drinks as well. My server was nice, but very, very slow. Waiting for my receipt to come back was tortuous. Silly system. Quality of food has gone down hill at all locations, which is annoying as well. read more

I wanted to love this place SO bad! I've heard such great things about this place... I was here for a lunch meeting the other day. I scheduled this lunch about a month ago, and it was poor planning on my part, as it fell in the middle of my spring cleanse. I already have several food allergies that limit what I eat at restaurants, but this cleanse REALLY limited my options. Our server reassured me that my food allergies and diet restrictions would not be a problem, so I ordered the jumbo shrimp and crab Louie salad (no egg, grilled shrimp rather than breaded, and lemon wedges on the side instead of the Louie dressing). The only part of my order they got right was the no dressing and lemons wedges in the side. The shrimp were breaded and the egg was hidden underneath the crab. I didn't make a stink about it, scooping out the egg and scraping off the breading on the shrimp. This made for a real awkward lunch meeting because I was so distracted, focused more on not eating food allergens than the person in front of me. Our server apologized about 3/4 of the way into our lunch when he saw how much I had pushed off to the side, and we joked around about how his kitchen probably didn't like him... He told me I should've had him take it back (and i probably should have) but I was on a time crunch. He adjusted our bill, and I appreciated that. I will come back to give them a 2nd go around. I don't want to totally write them off just yet. I've heard nothing but great things about this place. Next time I will make sure I'm not in the middle of a cleanse. read more

Whenever I come to the Grill, I always have to order their crab bisque! The bisque is spicy and creamy and trunks of crabs. Perfect for this rainy weather! Every dish here I ordered so far have not been disappointing! Love their salad, hamburger is amazing, fench Dip sandwich is loaded with beef. Another of my favorite is their french onion soup. As a long time Nordstrom patron. My best memories include shopping with my mother now my daughter and I had hoped grandkids - followed by a lunch or dinner at Nordstrom. Currently the building is being renovated the new cafe is very noisy, slow service and too high of price for the food and experience. This rates up there with losing Easter bunny and tooth fairy. This was a great place for a quick lunch while in downtown. The salads were top-notch and the salmon on mine was delicious, creamy and crunchy. The sourdough bread had a yummy flavor, though it had a bit of a rubbery crust. Our waitress forget about asking if we wanted bread and came back to ask again. I love shopping in the gentlemen department at Bellevue's Nordstrom after work. You can see that with my review of the place. LOL =) And what's better I can catch a good eat when I need a break from it all. The Seafood Louie and Steak salad there are my favorites. This is an unexceptional department store cafe. We went for lunch. We ordered a hamburger and a chicken sandwich. Both were distinctly average. The beer selection was quite limited. The decor was upscale and old-fashioned, with small-tile floors and ceiling fixtures from the thirties. There was a decent separation between tables. However, with the sounds of conversation and constant movement bouncing among the hard walls and ceiling and the very hard floor, the place was noisy. Prices matched the upscale Nordstrom image, not the quality of the food. read more

My grandma and I came on Tuesday. We just received the best mani-pedis I've ever gotten in the Nordstrom Spa (I had no idea there was one) on the 5th floor. I was starving and very glad we had reservations for 1 on a very busy lunch time rush. We were greeted by a very sweet hostess. We had a 10 minute wait but I didn't mind. Once we were seated a very nice server cheerfully greeted us asking if we would like pomogrant martinis. We accepted and begun studying the menu. We started with grilled shrimp with cocktail sauce and calamari with a very yummy sweet chili sauce. We split an almond apple salad with bleu cheese. I was filling a little full but the best was yet to come. I had crab mac-cheese. It was devine. My gma had halibut and fries which was equally good. For dessert we suffered through chocolate moose and a warm cookie sundae. The portions here are actually good sized and reasonably priced. read more

Decided to try The Grill during Restaurant Week, but was very disappointed with the quality of the food and the service. The table was dirty and I was served water in a glass that had lipstick lip imprints all over the rim. My steak was very tough and difficult to cut with a steak knife and impossible to chew. I ordered chocolate cake to-go and when I got home, I had been given mousse pie, that had melted all over. Too bad, I am a fan of the Nordstrom Cafe, but will not return to the Grill. read more

The Grill at Nordstrom is a surprise to most people. It is in the lower level of Nordstrom in the men's department and it sort of has that boy's club appeal. Maybe that is why you will almost always find the Nordstrom boys enjoying their lunch here. A reservation is a good idea if you are going to be on your lunch break, as it is generally quite busy and service is not always the fastest. Their bread basket is delicious with hot sourdough style bread. Anything on the menu is generally a good bet. They have great salads, a decent caesar with salmon, great chicken sandwiches and burgers with fries. They have a huge variety from sandwiches and salads to serious lunch entrees that would require a nap. I would go here over the cafe upstairs anyday. Lunch time gets really busy here. For a party of 5, we had to wait about 15-20 mins. I would consider us lucky given that there was no one else waiting in line but the tables were full. Their burgers were pretty good. They actually cooked it to medium rare when I asked for it! The sauce on the burgers was delicious as well. All the burgers come with fries. The waiters were all very kind and refilled our water regularly. I would definitely come back in the future to try out their other entrees. A burger ended up costing around $15. read more

Man I love this place. First off the food is great. I was there the other day and ordered the crab bisque and the shrimp & crab louis salad. The "shrimp" in the salad are actually enormous prawns battered and fried in a light batter. There is so much dungeness crab I can't believe it doesn't cost more. And probably one of the best cocktails I've ever had the bohemian sidecar. I'm not sure what other posters had happen to them with the service but I think it's the right amount. No ass kissing or ridiculous amounts of fake happiness, they have always given just the right amount of attentiveness and know when to leave you to enjoy your meal and company. I go to Nordy's Grill fairly often, but normally for lunch. I was there for dinner on Saturday before the Torchlight Parade, and it just didn't live up to the normal great experience I usually have there. I was seated near the server station, and there was way too much foot traffic for it to be enjoyable. Not only the restaurant staff going back and forth, but every few minutes, a store employee would come in and ask for a cup of water in a plastic to-go cup. That exchange would usually include some chit-chat, which was taking place right in front of me. Because the small booth I was in is next to the server station and the door to the kitchen, it's also the "gossip spot" for the staff. I overheard many things that shouldn't have been talked about at work, not to mention within earshot of customers. It was a slow night in the restaurant, and my impression was that the staff didn't have enough to do. On the upside, the food was good (I'd say 3-4 stars, but the experience on this visit really pulled down my rating). Next time I'll ask to be seated in the opposite corner, away from the server station. read more
