We were looking for a quiet place to relax and have a glass of wine, and this was perfect. This truly feels like a little French bistro. We sat at an outside table on the sidewalk and watched the city pass by. The food was great, obviously inspired by French cuisine. Very simple and fresh. The server was attentive and friend .

Came here for brunch before the Vikings game. The service was wonderful. They were very busy but the bartenders still made time to be personable. We had Brian serve us at the bar for majority of the time and he was great! Highly recommend this place!

The Eggs en Cocette was an incredible dish One of the best breakfast dishes I've had. The breakfast skillet was good but not memorable. Damien, our server, did an amazing job despite being severely understaffed.

We got together with some friends for dinner and drinks on a cold weekday night. We've been on this journey with these folks to try all the "famous" and "unique" burgers downtown and for some strange reason, the organizer of the group thought an old-timey, outdated hotel restaurant (at a Best Western no less), would be a good spot. Not sure what she was thinking. The place was pretty quiet on a Thursday and we had a nice table in a small back room separate from the rest of the place which was nice. They do offer a burger (Henry VII) that the menu says has been prepared since 1941 (I assume that's when it opened) along with iconic and huge popovers (who doesn't like one of those now and again...). Service was agonizingly slow and while we were all enticed to order a popover (as an appetizer), they arrived along with the very average and overcooked burgers after about a 30 minute wait. There are MANY better places to dine in the Twin Cities so unless you are marooned here during a blizzard, I'd skip it.

We were told that the mussels were a must get, and I can not restate this enough. The mussels are a MUST GET. They were unbelievable and SOOO many mussels. Our waiter Andy was truly outstanding. We really aren't picky eaters and we just asked Andy to assemble dishes for us to get a good tasting of the menu while staying in a certain budget and he exceeded it. We had the sweet corn agnolotto and it was truly out of this world. Just truly loved this dish. Creamy, flavorful and so perfect. We had a few Argentinian steaks and the one was Gorgonzola cream was truly incredible. You just get the papas bravas and the mushrooms were just delicious as well. If you are a vegetarian, you will have sooooo many options here that are so satisfying. You can not skip dessert, the gelato was our favorite. The wine selection is incredible. Again -- this spot was just incredible. HUGE shoutout to Andy F , he curated the best dishes and made the night so special.

My first time I had the Turkish Eggs (not pictured) and OMG. That is the only way I want all my egg dishes prepared now. Even if you're not an anchovies fan I recommend giving this dish a try as the texture is undetectable. My main was entraña steak w/ chimichurri sauce and two over medium eggs. Everything was perfectly prepared (per usual for this place) and I appreciated that the steak was the same price as the dinner menu but with the added value of the eggs. Definitely recommend for a group brunch experience!

Plus with our spouses out of town it was a great excuse for a "boys night out" in downtown. Things were a bit quiet (it's January after all) but that was ok with me. We sat in a great two-person booth facing the huge bar. The restaurant features inventive cocktails so I had my usual when places have skilled bartenders-Markers Mark whiskey sour-made perfectly. The food menu features a lot of very reasonably priced fish and seafood dishes and some pricey steaks like a fillet for $88 (wow!). Sides are separate and they've got a long list of tantalizing starters too although you MUST try the amazing shrimp/avocado boats-4 crunchy little endive boats with a delicious ceviche-like mixture of tiny shrimp. Scrumptious!! And just a lite bite so you definitely have room for the fluffy grougheres with the fontina cheese dip. We tried the hanger steak-nicely prepared and the seared halibut with a Moroccan-style sauce-very interesting. For sides we loved the potato pave(square of scalloped potatoes) and the fried eggplant with a sticky honey bbq drizzle. Our server Dominica took excellent care of us a Carl did a nice job assisting-water glasses were always full (to me a mark of a well run place). Alas, as with all the spots on Washington parking can be an issue. They offer valet ($15) but I luckily found a spot on the street 1-block down. Definitely will be back soon.

We arrived around 5:30 p.m., about 30 minutes after opening. The room was dark, cramped, and louder than the small space can really support. The playlist was distracting, and the kitchen staff audibly singing along did not help the atmosphere. Service was well-intentioned but missed the mark. Our server could not tell us whether the main component of a dish was cucumber, fennel, both, or something else, which is a basic menu question at this price point. Timing was off throughout the meal, so if you are expecting polished, well-paced service, I would look elsewhere. The food was the biggest disappointment. I could see an attempt at creativity, but the dishes felt more confused than composed. Several flavors landed at extremes: too sweet, too spicy, or too heavy on fishy funk, without enough balance to pull them together. It felt like "fusion" without a clear point of view. Parking is also difficult in this part of the North Loop, so plan for a ramp, valet, or extra time and money. I would not return for happy hour, dinner, a hosted meal, or a special occasion.

The staff is phenomenal in answering questions about the meats. They actually roll out a cart and go over all of the cuts for you which is great for a beginner and they're super knowledgeable for people that want to really dive into the meat! This is a traditional steakhouse experience where nothing is really included with your steak so you'll want to budget some money to paying for sides. One side is enough for two people and definitely feel comfortable talking to your waiter about portions! We had the Brussels sprouts which were phenomenal and loaded baked potatoes and that was more than enough for the four of us. We each had a steak - I had the larger filet mignon and this is where the experience fell flat for me. I felt like the steak was incredibly bland - it came with a bearnaise sauce which helped but I think it might be worth springing for the butter option or something that just adds to the steak. The steak for me would've been a 2 out of 5 stars. We had the Manny's brownie for dessert and that was spectacular. Again - huge portions so one was more than enough for the table. I really think this and the Brussel sprouts were the highlight food wise. This place is not for the budget conscious diner - you're paying for the staff's experience and attention and for some big portions! And I really think the staff is what made this experience a 4 for me because the steak part of the steakhouse was really lacking and I prefer the steakhouse style where sides are a part of meal not an add on.

We enjoyed an appetizer, a few bruschettas, and a few pastas on our most recent visit. Arancini were the perfect start: crispy, creamy, and a little spice from the sauce! Chicken Liver Mousse Bruschetta was the weak point in the meal as it just seemed to be lacking a component that balanced the richness of the mousse. The Crispy Pork Shoulder and Carrot Bruschetta was VERY salty, but I kinda enjoyed how it would make my mouth water, quenched by the creamy carrot puree.
