After a 3 hour drive from Sacramento we worked up an appetite and some buddies took us to North Fork BBQ.. we did arrive late so they were almost out of just about everything which effected what we could order however my wife got the "outlaw potato" and I got the Carolina pig sandwich.. (those were our only two options at the time we arrived) but neither disappointed: The outlaw potato: If comfort food and gourmet creativity had a baby, it would be this open-faced smoked potato masterpiece. Their chicken thighs are really good and I got the tri tip plate with potato salad and baked beans. It was moist and tender. They also have a dog friendly patio which we really appreciated. I've tried a handful of their items... just had the breakfast burrito today I believe it was called the redinger special, took me back to New Mexico style ranchero breakfast flavors sooo yummy . It's BIG we shared it. Brisket and bacon inside were perfect. Got a side of salsa also. Wouldn't mind adding a second egg on top but also maybe more of the ranchero sauce .... My husband and I were working up in Bass Lake and decided to pick up lunch in the area , we found this BbQ place on the way home in North Fork and decided to try it. Well let's start by saying this place has earned their stars and reviews on Yelp! We ordered the 2 meat plate because I wasn't that hungry and wanted to just share with my husband. We got the tri tip and brisket plate. OMG the brisket is out of this world!! My husband and I have never had brisket this delicious! It beats Westwoods by far!! Customer service is incredible also! We traveled quite a bit to get here. We have been coming to the current location in North Fork a few times since they moved from Oakhurst. We went to the Oakhurst location quite a bit and had good meals there. We want to support the local guys. We're disappointed that there was a limited menu. Again! Trevor took my orders. He sounded pleasant on the phone. 4 of 5 When we went to pick up our orders, Trevor greeted us. He's friendly and welcoming. I noted that the eatery was spick-n-span. And the tables that were empty were clean. The kitchen can be seen through an open door, and it too, looked clean and well-organized. 5 of 5 Trev's Tri-Tip Sandwich (oak fired tender tri-tip loaded in a garlic French roll, served with a side of housemade bbq sauce or salsa): "The meat was extra smoky and dry. The chili had too much chili powder and was not cooked all the way through. The sides (Potato Salad and Mixed Green Salad) were very good. What shocked me was the small piece of garlic french roll. I guess I expected a sandwich roll to be much bigger. 3 of 5 Kids Sliders (2 small tri-tip and 1 choice of side): The meat was well-seasoned but on the dry side. This eatery is like a well established family owned BBQ stand with inside seating on picnic tables and, as I was told in the Springtime, outside dining. I favored the Santa Maria Tri Tip sandwich with a Potato Salad side. Others in my group ordered the Trev's Tri Tip combo with the Ranch Chili Beans and the Rice Pilaf (not pictured). All of the sandwiches and sides were flavorful and delicious and filling. I was full after consuming half of my selection. We were visiting the area and wanted some barbecue on Christmas Eve. North Fork was open and we were excited to try it! I love that they are veteran owned. We went with my brother who is a veteran and were able to get a discount on our entire order. Several of us opted for the tri tip rancher bowl, which was sooo tasty! The ribs were way overcooked and burnt. Not much meat at all. My daughter liked the chicken but it was one note salt for me. Tri tip was good but grisly had smoke on it kinda dry. I thought having 2 bottles of bbq sauce up by the cash register was odd. Put a couple bottles at every table. I asked if the potato salad was made in house cashier said yes. After splitting a breakfast we ordered as 3 meat plate as they were opening for afternoon service, the brisket was delicious, great bark, great texture, and delicious flavor.
