We are from Arizona, the fox restaurant state, where we frequent many of the great fox locations Our waitress, Colby was honestly a little bit of a brat, we tried to order drinks, she ID'd us, came back 2 minutes later, took our ID's for 5 minutes, and then said we can't get any drinks. We saw her laughing at us and rolling her eyes throughout the meal, and it just seemed like she made us to be the enemy of the night. The managers to back her up were also terrible. Went to North Italia bc I got to choose the restaurant. My husband is not a big pasta fan and decided to go with their steak. He asked the waitress how big the filet was and she said 10 oz. He ordered the "10 oz" filet cooked medium. There was no way that was a 10 oz steak! Maybe 5 oz. It came out over cooked- well done, dry as a bone, terrible flavor. It was $39 to boot. We could have gone to Stoney River for that price. I ordered the salmon with farro. The salmon was cooked well and tasted good but it was very small portion for the price. My farro and my husband's vegetables were way too salty. My daughter ordered the chicken pesto pasta bowl. She was the only happy with her meal. We have been longtime loyal customers of North Italia for over 10 years while living in Arizona and moved to TN last year. North Italia was originally owned by Sam Fox. Since he sold this restaurant chain to the Cheesecake Factory, we have noticed a gradual decline. This past year, we really noticed that they are using poor quality salmon, etc., and it just keeps getting worse. We'll go to Bricktops or some other place in the future that values good quality and service. We'll also go to places owned by Sam Fox. read more

Our first bartender was amazing -- he was able to find my much loved carpaccio when it was officially sold out. We came here last night and it was packed! An hour and 15 wait for 6 people, which was fine because we put our name in then left and came back later. So we got seated and had 2 great waitresses! However, they were out of 4 different beers that we tried to order. They said it was the first week they were open so clearly people were coming here and drinking! That was little disappointing that they were already out of so much less than a week in. I got a bottle of the Merlot that is on the food and cocktail menu (not the wine menu by itself) and it was GREAT. I loved it! ($40) It did take a while to get our beer and wine from the bar... We got the meatballs and the white truffle garlic bread for appetizers and OH.MY.GOSH. They were AMAZING!!! The cheese underneath the meatballs was incredible and my mouth is watering thinking about the bread. Seriously you have to get both. It did take a while to get those and the bread came out a while after the meatballs. My 5 stars is because the food was SO good!!! I ordered the chicken Parmesan and I don't even have words to describe how incredible it was. The chicken was fried literally perfectly. The waitress said that they use panko bread crumbs to get it crispy like that and that they coat the chicken breasts one at a time. Seriously it was so fantastic. Everyone else got the bolognese, margarita pizza, The Pig pizza (meat lovers), and the scallops dish. My dad tried everything and ranked the meals as 1. Chicken Parmesan 2. scallops 3. The pig pizza 4. Bolognese 5. Margarita pizza The pizzas were fantastic! Once again it took a long time for our food to come out... but we understood that it was their first week open but that was honestly our only complaint- how long it took to get drinks (and the second round too) and the food. My husband and I ordered dinner to go. He ordered the margarita pizza, I the short ribs. The pizza was cold coming out. He was to hungry to take it back and stuck it in the microwave when we got to the house. It was just ok. And although it tasted good, my short ribs were dry. Holy! What an amazing place. Food was so authentically tasty and hand crafted. We've been visiting Tennessee and excited to see our new home will have some great Italian restaurants surrounding us. Had a reservation yet were seated at the worst table in the restaurant next to the swinging door to the kitchen and the bathrooms. The teen girls seated ahead of us had no reservation yet were given the best seat- a booth. When you have to fill hostess spots in this strained labor market, maybe this is what you get- clueless people who have no clue about the service industry. Ended up leaving and felt bad for our nice server. Wasn't his fault. Won't be back which is too bad as the servers and food are great. No manager in sight. Super disappointing. read more

This place is a plus everytime. I come here a couple times a month and try new items. The food has all been delicious, I've almost covered the menu! The drinks are fabulous! I have had a bunch of different servers and there isn't a single one that wasn't awesome at their jobs! The bartenders are just as great! The management is amazing! My family does most of our birthday celebrations at this location. The atmosphere is so friendly, and the staff is great. I called the same day, a bit desperate because at the very last minute (we thought we would be out of town) I needed somewhere for 8 of us to celebrate my son's 17th birthday. The manager, Meagan came through 100%. Whether she remembered us or not, she made it happen. The waiter was overwhelmed with tables and slammed. Once the food arrived the salad was OK but the pizza was gross. I waited 15 minutes for cup of coffee while 5 feet away 4-5 young employees stood chatting. I asked for help from three different people including manager. Nothing. Food is great but from now on will plant myself at the bar. Very disappointed as passing through town and coming every night to wait out the snow. Waitress finally arrived with my coffee and said 'Oh I forgot.' It was hard to tell in the huddle who was assistant manager but when I related my coffee not coming out one male manager [?] said 'Well at least she admitted her mistake." Then I got a new waitress. First time at North Italia and a real mixed experience. The food was quite good but the service was "odd". Our servers were a duo and to be candid, we're a bit aloof. Here's where it took and even more surreal turn. We ordered an appetizer and asked for some bread with olive oil (that was in many pics on Yelp reviews). The server acted confused almost to the point of denying the bread existed. At one point she even stated that "I guess I could find some from the kitchen and cut it up for you". She never produced this mystical bread/olive oil and my family started noticing little by little that tables were being served this rustic bread and olive oil that, alas, was being dispatched from a station right near our table. I finally nabbed the attention of my dual serves and said I was confused....pointing to the tables with bread and she said "oh, you wanted that bread, let me see if I can get you some". It took another 10 minutes for her and her partner to extract a plate of sliced plain rustic bread that was under a napkin and being used for all tables as your standard "table bread". Our servers were so detached and a bit put off that they had to cut finally give us the bread. It felt as if they were trained to discourage people from asking for it. Found this cute little restaurant last time we were in Franklin but didn't get a chance to eat here. This trip we made a point to go, it looked to cute not to. Outdoor seating available and what looked like a menu that wouldn't disappoint. We were right....amazing! It was so good on Friday night we had to came back Sunday morning to try their brunch menu. Once again absolutely delicious. Friday we had the white truffle garlic bread..to die for...the zucca chips, and our entrees were the spaghetti and meatballs and spicy rigatoni. I love spicy and the rigatoni was definitely that, pretty spicy so if you don't like spicy I would try something else. However I loved it! My daughter lover her spaghetti and meatballs. Today for brunch, we had to the white truffle garlic bread again, I mean why wouldn't we. I had the farmhouse scramble and she had the pollo fritto. Once again we were not disappointed. I had some of her pollo fritto and I think I will get that the next chance I get to eat here again for brunch. If you get the chance to try this place out, don't pass it up! read more

Very kind staff, they were helpful, service was a bit slow. Ordered a customized version of my fave Italian dish that's not offered on the menu. They were able to work with me and whip up something. I would have liked it to be more authentic Italian but I give 3 stars because I had about 20 pieces of whole garlic uncooked in my dish. I ordered the chicken parm after being told by the waitress that it was a customer fav. I literally felt like I was eating a breaded chicken patty that you'd pull out of the freezer. It was not good at all. It was all overcooked breading and hardly any chicken. The pasta that came with it was satisfying, but nothing to brag about and quite frankly... the overall quality of this meal did not stack up to the price point they charge. My friend had one of their pizzas and was not satisfied with the quality either. Being that the restaurant is visually pleasing, I hope they up their game in the quality of their food. read more
