We finally got around to trying NE Sisters for the first time, and were pleasantly surprised. Definite 4 stars as a base, and an extra for uniqueness so close to our neighborhood. The dishes and flavors are markedly different from the typical Chinese-American takeout offerings in the area. We had the cold grilled noodles with chicken and added the pork sausage. Tasted good, cool form factor and surprise, it's not a cold dish! Also had the chicken shreds, really enjoyed the lightness of the sweet/sour sauce and good amount of Sichuan numbing pepper flavor. Definitely will get this again. The pork with shrimp flavor dumplings and the (black vinegar?) sauce they came with were good, but very strong in flavor. A few of them was enough for me, and my wife enjoyed the rest. However, when I got there and rang the bell, no one responded/came out - I ended up going in and had to ask the staff from the next door Kokonut dessert place whether it was the right spot. Although we arrived a few minutes past the estimated time that the food would be ready, we still had to wait for 5 minutes there before someone from Northeast Sisters brought us our food...not a great pick up experience. We got 3 dishes - grill cold noodles, dumplings with port & shrimp, and chicken wings. Grill cold noodles had good flavors - we asked to add spam on our online order (and paid extra for it), however, it was not included... Terrible service and attitude. I ordered online from here on Xmas day (which I called and was told to order online by them). It was an estimated 30-35 min wait time (ordered 5:42, pickup 6:15) based off the order. I get there to pick up my food by ringing the doorbell - no answer. Ring it several more times - still no answer. Finally have to call them to open the front door for my order. Mind you, there are several other customers waiting outside along with me so all of them are going through the same ordeal. After seeing the employee/cashier give the orders to the other customers, I'm still sitting in the cold waiting on my own and this is now 6:30, so 50 min after I've made my order. Finally the employee comes out to give my order, but lo and behold, it's the wrong damn order. So I call the restaurant yet again to tell them they got my order wrong and he has to come out again to pick it up and give me the right order - I'm left waiting for another 15 min outside as they try to correct my order. It isn't until 6:50 that I get my full order so over an hour since my original order was placed. The worst of all is that I didn't get a single apology - no 'Sorry' or 'Our apologies' or even any acknowledgement that this was all a major inconvenience to me on their part. I ordered the roasted noodles and the dongbei cold noodles to go last night. So let me preface this by saying I've never had this type of cuisine before. I thought the roasted noodles would be something like a cooked version of the shrimp noodles from dim sum and I thought the dongbei cold noodles would be like Korean nangmyun. Boy was I wrong. It might just be my personal preference but I did NOT like the food at all. The cold noodle broth had a really concentrated sour taste to it and I can't really describe the roasted noodle. They're just dishes I can't even describe and I ended up tossing the food after a few bites. Based on my dislike, I didn't think it would be fair to give a low rating solely because my palette isn't used to this kind of food. For those that regularly eat this, I'm sure they're used to enjoying it. The food was prepared in a timely manner and from what I can tell, the ingredients seemed decent.
