Northstar breakfast never disappoints. I would love if the veggie burger was available on the breakfast brunch menu but there are plenty of yummy vegetarian options that early as well. We got the sweet potato hash, mushroom frittata and ricotta pancakes. The hash is packed with all kinds of colorful vegetables - sooo good and filling. The egg on top is fried over medium. The mushroom frittata is pretty earthy so just keep that in mind if you like that flavor about mushrooms. The potatoes and arugula are seasoned really well. Can't ever go wrong with the ricotta pancakes. Very fluffy and delish. They usually have a nice crisp on the edges but not so much today. Also the bananas were cut huge haha but overall still tasty. I love visiting Northstar when I'm in the area. The food is delicious and the atmosphere of this Liberty Center location is great. You order at the counter and then take a seat wherever you'd like. The staff will deliver any made-to-order drinks as well as your meal when it's ready. My favorite is the Northstar Burger, it's by far one of the best veggie burgers I've ever had. Highly recommend giving it a try if you like veggie burgers (or even if you don't, you might change your mind!). They also make their own ginger ale in house, which is always delicious and refreshing. And their mint iced coffee is so so good. Sometimes I'll stop in just to get an iced coffee if I'm in the area. I will say it can be a little pricey for some of the meals, but the quality is always great. And they tend to have healthier options compared to other places. I love Northstar so much that whenever I visit this area I eat here even though there are tons of other restaurants in the area. My go to is the cheeseburger with fries. The burger is a high quality blend of meat, the toppings are fresh, juicy, and crunchy and the fries are the perfect salty side dish. If you're here in the morning and you enjoy coffee and mint the mint iced coffee is one of the best coffee drinks I've ever had. I recently had their craft ginger ale and it blew me away. It was described as a virgin mojito which is a spot on description. Fresh mint, lime, and of course ginger. Their chocolate chip cookies are also perfect. They were out of what we came here for (triticale steak) and the staff wasn't very apologetic or helpful, just annoyed we didn't have a backup. This was my first time trying the dinner menu at Northstar. My friend ordered the Green goddess smoothie and the Pad thai. I went with the Buddha bowl. The wait wasn't too bad. The smoothie tasted citrusy and kale-y and it was good for anyone who likes a fresh smoothie. The Pad thai, honestly, blew my mind. It tasted soooooo gooooooood. I was skeptical of this one but it was really delicious. The Buddha bowl was pretty good. The peanut sauce in it was fantastic. Only complain? The quantity of the sauce needs to be a lil more and I wasn't expecting 70% of the bowl to be these massive cauliflower and broccoli crowns. That's the only reason why it's a 4 star for me. For dessert, we got the dark chocolate truffle cookie. And it tasted so good and decadent! I'd eat that everyday. The prices are kinda high. Ehhh...I found this place to be a bit overpriced as I spent $24 for an iced tea and the Buddha bowl with a 15% tip. Especially considering you order at a counter and get your own drink. I really like this café. However I do not like the way you have to stand in line and wait on a busy Sunday. The bar is open seating, but it's not convenient for parties larger than two. I really wish this place took reservations! Reservations would help the flow and make it more convenient for customers who don't like waiting. The ambience, decor, and location are convenient for a family day out, brunch, or any other gathering with friends. The food was just right. It took a while to get our food, and the mixups were frustrating, but the staff made it right. I can definitely appreciate the accountability and acknowledgment. I originally wanted the mushroom frittata, but they were out of mushrooms. So the young lady at the register allowed me to get the country breakfast with some altering. I appreciated this because after a long time waiting in line, and to get to the register to order, with no availability for the menu item, I was frustrated. I would recommend this restaurant on a less busy day. The inability to make reservations is a turn off. There are two reasons for not giving this restaurant five stars:1. Lack of availability of the menu item, and no notification to the line of people that was all the way to the door. 2. Really bad experience! Not recommended at all. I went to this restaurant with my son for a brunch in memorial day weekend, the restaurant wasn't full at all, close to half capacity. We ordered a cheese burger and a mushroom frittata (pretty straight forward dishes) it took about 30 minutes to bring the cheese burger and the frittata never showed up, after 45 minutes I decided to leave, the waitress was very kind and polite trying to mediate the situation, but we left anyway, because it was a lack of respect for a customer looking for a decent place to eat. I'd like a plain yogurt option. Neither of us ate much. Northstar usually has an option I can have. It is in a good location, too. The atmosphere is open and sunny. For drinks, she had a pinot noir and I ordered a Sonder Kato blonde ale. We even decided to indulge in a little dessert and order a mason jar carrot cake since it looked so good. We hardly waited long at all for our entrees even though it was pretty busy there. My lady loved her salad just as much as she did the first time. As for my pad Thai, I really enjoyed it. The veggies retained their crunch and it wasn't nearly as sweet as some pad Thai I've had before. A little before we finished our dishes, a server brought out our carrot cake, so it was fresh and wasn't just sitting there the entire time... And it was possibly the best carrot cake I've ever had! Very soft, moist, and decadent with rich, creamy frosting on top. Every bite had us raving about it. Will we be back for a third visit? I'm certain that the answer is ABSOLUTELY! Wonderful Experience! We went to Northstar on an Elite Experience, and were so happy we did! The staff obviously enjoys working there, because they easily chatted while we ordered, one young lady walked by and just smiled and said "Hi!" as though we were friends for years. Everyone made us feel like we had just arrived to the party. We ordered the Chicken and Avocado sandwich, a Classic Cheeseburger with a simple salad, and two of their cookies. While we were doing so, two of the managers stopped by to greet us, thank us for coming, and ask if we had any questions about the menu items. Once seated, the salads arrived - highly recommend the house vinaigrette - followed by the "lets fit an entire chicken on this sandwich" It was HUGE! Shortly after, this gorgeous cheeseburger arrives (pickles sliced lengthwise...Nice touch!) to complete the order. The waitstaff politely excuses themselves and engages in a quick bit of conversation as they ask to remove plates - I appreciated this touch, too. This is by far one of my favorite breakfast places. All the food is fresh, unprocessed, and homemade to perfection. Even the day old cookies (which I did get) are great, especially when warmed up. All the menu options seem great, but I got the egg sandwich with eggs scrambled and bacon added. Usually this would be a modest breakfast, but it was HUGE.
