I've been to Nova several times in the last 10 years, but I went very recently, and was pleasantly surprised to try some other menu items that I haven't tried before. I sat outside with my friend, and we shared a plate of hummus with pita bread and a smoked salmon salad. I really enjoyed the fresh hummus plate, and it was a generous portion with lots of fresh cut vegetables. I've had the pho here as well, and I remember it being good. Nova is the cutest upscale diner ever! My husband and I just bought a house within 2-3 blocks walking distance and this is hands down going to be our new favorite spot. Close proximity to home aside the food and drinks are fantastic. I am not usually one to rave about a salad but the Nova House Salad is the perfect blend of crunch, sweet, salty, tart. The dressing is so good I want to lick the plate when I am done. Alas, I am well over the age of 2 so I refrain. All the pizza's we have tried are excellent and the drinks are well crafted and strong without being too much. I will say the service here is great. They are always very quick to provide water for the table which is very welcome given the walk in the summer heat and the attentiveness remains throughout the entire service. I've been to nova many, many times over the last several years. The food is amazing, literally anything on the menu. The service is good. Sometimes they have live music and they have a covered/heated area that's nice to sit at if you want to chat, it's usually a little quieter in there. The best part are their novamosas! Food is good in theory-not what's served. Frog legs were gross. Not because they were frog legs. Buffalo sauce or whatever was oily, flavorless and not Buffalo. Fried tomatoes were good but not the béchamel or shrimp that topped it. Shrimp were frozen popcorn shrimp. Prolly what contributed to the tasteless béchamel. We came here tonight before the English Beat Concert on a friend's recommendation. We warmed up slowly to the staff before the amazing Carrie took over our service and wowed us through the rest of our time. We each had a couple of specialty cocktails during their very reasonable Happy Hour along with their famous Mac and Cheese. The lady had the Nova Cocktail and I had a Berry Amsterdam Mule (or something like that - hey, I just got home from the concert!). The drinks were excellent as was the Mac and Cheese. The pineapple watermelon salad would have been better by itself. The texture and temperature of the watermelon salad made the texture of the dish worse. That chicken needs a jerk sauce desperately. The dish was not work the $30 no way. Solid 2/10 Service was great! The star of the night was that brisket burger and the Asian chop salad. 10/10 Great menu selection. I had a bigger issue with a man who I'm assuming is a regular that walked in and was holding his face mask to his face to get through the front door then he was walking around the restaurant without wearing a mask and staff who saw him did not say anything to him. PERFECTION. I've come to Nova for happy hour before and had a wonderful experience with their drinks (the Pimms cup was lovely) and appetizers (the hummus plate is ). I had a chance to come to Nova again for a big group dinner and it was spectacular! The food is really good and there are several vegetarian options. I had the mushroom pasta and it was creamy, flavorful, but not overly rich. I tried some of their pizzas as well and was very impressed with their thin, crispy crust! Service was also outstanding and our food came out within 20 minutes even with the restaurant pretty packed. Parking is also straightforward. They have a small lot that fills up pretty quickly, but you can also park along the street. In the evenings I would recommend a little extra safety precautions though if you're walking down the street. Can't wait to come back again! read more

Went to Texas for the World Series and of course wanted some late night drinks and dessert. Honestly it was hard to find places that were open late and that had dessert. I figured gastropubs usually have dessert, so that's when we found Nova. I'm so glad that we did because we ended up ordering 3 desserts. 2 bread puddings and a cake. So the Pumpkin Bread Pudding is the only one I remember because it was probably one of the best desserts I've ever had. I'm sure it's only seasonal but if y'all are in the area around October get it!! It was so good my friend and boyfriend don't even like pumpkin, but it had them devouring it. My friend even licked the plate clean. The owner and waiter were extremely nice! The owner kept coming over to check on us and was cracking jokes. You can tell there was a lot of regulars that came in because everyone seemed so friendly. There are lots of tables inside and tables outside. There was even a bday gathering outside.
