I came for a private party so I guess this is a bias review since we didn't have the whole menu to choose from. The pasta (I think it was with vodka sauce) was fine. The salad was a bit sad looking. And my chicken parm entree was decent. I tried their red and white sangrias and definitely liked red better. Considering there were multiple private parties happening at the same time, service was slow but the wait staff was very nice and tried accommodating us the best they could. read more

We went on a Saturday night and there was no wait time, although the parking lot was full. - sesame bread and butter while you wait for your food (bread was cold) -raw clams were juicy and fresh -fried shrimp had a crispy chicken cutlet taste -baked clams were yummy -lobster ravioli were filled with a mix of real lobster and shredded lobster (which gave it almost a can tuna taste), the white sauce and shrimp on top was sweet, savory, juicy, and delicious -chicken parmigiana over spaghetti traditional dish and big size serving A must try place. read more

My boyfriend threw me a surprise 50th tonight and all I have to say is Nucci's is top notch ! The owner Paul greeted us with such a warm sincere smile on his face, walked us in, the staff is very attentive Paul was hands on the entire time, They went above and beyond from start to finish the food was incredible from the appetizers to the dessert. You definitely get great prices for outstanding food ! The atmosphere is calm and warm .. I don't know what happened to this place but I don't think they will survive with the state the restaurant is In at the moment. They ran out of soda?? Not sure why they could not go get some in a pinch; kinda hard to have a mixed drink without. Calamari was ok as was the bread. Salad was completely rotten and wilted and the steak was inedible. I had to go out to eat AFTER coming to a party here. read more

Incredible experience at Nucci's South for a bridal shower this past Saturday. I have been to the Forest Avenue Nucci's many times. This was my first trip to the Outerbridge location, which I enjoyed very much. The wine game here is strong. The pours of wine are generous, and that's my kind of wine pour, believe that. Many of the guests don't eat meat, so they offered a flaky, tender filet of sole. Classy move, because tilapia is gross. I had chicken Marsala and loved it. The portion was too big, so I brought home most of it for Teddy. Besides from the tasty food, the service was really on point! The waiters were prompt and gracious with refills and checking in. Paul was very attentive to my friend but the young waiter was just as great, offering to wrap my food etc. I highly recommend this place's private room for an event. They also have a flat screen for you to play a running slide show. Great job. read more

Great Italian restaurant all the way on the southern end of Staten island. Friendly service, plenty of seating. The stewed tripe appetizer was fantastic, tender and coated with a fantastic tomato sauce. Calamari was will seasoned and lightly breaded. Swordfish steaks were huge and the sausage with broccoli rabe and cavatelli was delicious. read more

Nucci's is a solid choice for Italian food with the plethora of Italian dining available on the rock. In reality Nucci's earns 3.5 stars....come yelp....half stars are needed. Parking is an absolute nightmare as the parking lot is not large enough to accommodate the restaurant.....you can try and park in the shopping center next door. Service is solid, the menu is standard, the food is above average. The food is hit or miss in my experience. I attended a small dinner party there this week. The cold antipasto was very good, loaded with salami, pepperoni, mozzarella, roasted peppers and lettuce. The fried calamari was good, slightly greasy but their sauce is very good. The pizza was good, thin crust, bar pie style. Pasta with Vodka sauce was served, the sauce itself was ok, the prosciutto was cut into cubes and sautéed which is not my preference. The entrees were ok, Sole Oreganata was above par although slightly fishy. The chicken sorrentino was a handsome dish but lacked flavor in my opinion. The potato croquettes that were served with the entrees might have been some of the best I have ever had. Full bar available. read more

Attended as a guest for a post funeral luncheon, arriving around 1215pm on a Wednesday. We were a large group of about 35 and were seated at a few long tables set for 10. Décor is typical Italian restaurant, a bit dark, plenty of room at the table and in the dining area. Our section was divided from the other part of the restaurant by a thick curtain as other diners were in the restaurant. There are multiple bathrooms and the one I used was clean and well lit. A Sinatra tune was playing when we were seated. It is located in a strip mall right off Arthur Kill Road and the Outerbridge Crossing is in sight. Parking was easy right in front. After folks had all arrived servers came by promptly and served water and bread and took drink orders. We had one assigned to our table who was attentive, pleasant, and always addressed us with a smile. We did see other servers and it seemed to be a team effort. Pacing of service was very good. Water pitchers could have been refilled a bit more. Orders were taken for our mains and service began with a nice pasta dish of al dente penne in cream sauce. Very tasty, then a small salad was brought already dressed. It was fine. I ordered a piece of fish. Others got beef and chicken. My fish was moist and flaky, definitely prepared fresh. Others enjoyed their choices. We did not stay for dessert. A fine place for some traditional food and good service. We were guests so no comment on value. We would return when in the area. If I could give Nucci's negative stars I would. This place in HORRIBLE! We went for a birthday party which is the only reason I stayed until the end. The waiters are all young kids who, while doing the best they could, where obviously untrained and ill prepared. The food came out at a glacial pace and we had to keep asking for additional luxuries like butter for the stale bread and forks for the barely warm and sparsely plated food. I don't know what happened. Been there several times before covid and always nice menu, plenty of good food. Last night I ordered a Chicken dish. Chicken on the bone with potatoes and sausage. They did not have chicken on the bone so I agreed to off the bone. They brought me a cut up cutlet with onions and peppers. When I questioned it I was told they were out of potatoes and sausage. How could a Pizza place and restaurant be out of sausage. They don't ask just send what they want. I sent it back. very fee customers there at 6:30pm on a Saturday. Not a bad Italian restaurant as I dont eat much of it out . Wife cooks Italian for me often. One thing I have to say is the parking lot is way too small for this place. Went to a meeting here at 1pm and it was full and had to park in the what seems is overflow across the street. Just getting across this road is like crossing a highway. Food was Ok. Blackened salmon was fine but only came with a potato croquette and wilted spinach. There was a lot of empty plate that could have had a vegetable or another side. We don't get here often as we are on the other side of the island. The trip was well worth it last night, great cocktails and great food. I had the mussels in a white spicy broth and they were plentiful, sweet and perfectly made. My wife had stuffed clams which reminded her of her mom's. I had the seafood platter which was overflowing with clams, mussels, shrimp and calamari. Sauce was perfect as were the seafood. My wife had the linguine and clam sauce which, again, were plentiful and delicious. We got there early and it was great to see the room full up quickly. The food isn't very good at all. They don't seem to care how their food looks or taste when it's brought to the table. The service isn't good either and I don't believe it's the server's fault since they probably weren't taught how to. The servers are young kids who haven't been taught. I waited thirty minutes to get a drink after the waiter took my order and no crowd in the place at all. They gave Zeppole which were like rubber and ice cold. They looked like they were there for days and Espresso was cold too. The topper is the charged $15.00 for a drink which was a Bloody Mary and it wasn't even drinkable. The ambiance is absolutely nothing! I don't recommend you go there because there are plenty of decent restaurants around. read more

We've eaten at Nucci's before and had a large party at this restaurant. The food is always delicious with large portions. We were looking for a Monday meal and many restaurants are closed on Mondays, including Nucci's. We took the chance to call them and they were open for a special party. The owner accepted our reservation for dinner and the food and service were over-the-top. Large portions, flowing drinks, excellent server, delicious baked clams and zucchini appetizers, and everyone enjoyed their meals. Great music and ambiance and a very friendly and kind owner. My hub's family went to Nucci's South for a post-funeral repast. There was quite a number of us, but they quickly got us seated, drink orders were taken and the courses of the meal came out in a timely fashion. There was nothing that was not mouth-watering. The antipasto salad was amazing, the sourdough bread very fresh. We then had penne with vodka sauce--basil was so good, then the tossed salad, followed by the main course. I chose the veal. The service was great considering how many folks they had to service. I wish and pray one-day real Italian food will come to Virginia, but I have been here since 1978 and am still waiting. Very Very disappointed. At one time they were really good but have drastically declined. Calamari was the WORST I ever had and once it was the best I ever had.... Dirty oil, chewy.--- had to send back... The portion for an entree was a tapas size - half a veal cutlet, cut in 3 pieces. Also chewy... then I overhead that they ran out of chicken!!! They couldn't run the credit card they had to run it next door at the coffee house. We all work hard for our money and don't waste yours if you want to go out for a good meal. I needed a restaurant that was equal distance from Malboro NJ and Brooklyn to meet friends for dinner. Nuccis turned out to be a gem. Tucked under the Outer Bridge the place was a pleasant surprise. The waiter was attentive and the owner,Paul, was over the top with telling us what was the best way to go. They had a two for one option that our wives selected and both were more than pleased with. I opted for a ribeye and my friend a pasta dish that both of us enjoyed. After dinner Paul brought over zeppoli that were delicious. We all had drinks and wine. The price was the icing on the cake. Nothing what it used to be! Group of friends and I went here for dinner last night and we were completely disappointed. For starters the only red wine they had was Merlot, then the waiter we had did not now what vegetables they had, and was completely unfamiliar with the menu. I ordered an entree to take home for my wife and asked if he could bring it out after we ate so it would be fresh but it came out with our dinners anyway, so far the service was sub standard. I had the cavatelli with sausage and broccoli rabe with was tasteless and the broccoli rabe had the texture of under cooked kale, a total fail of an anticipated good meal. The New York Cheesecake was okay but my coffee was so weak it tasted like dish water. I guess another restaurant that was very good in the past has joined the ranks of many failing businesses. read more

A group of 10 we enjoyed some great apps mussels red in spicy sauce was delicious, the calamari with Nuccis brown sauce OMG I wanted to bottle the sauce amazing. Best fried zucchini sticks ever so fresh crunchy not greasy very good. Baked clams were plentiful and so tasty, everyone had different entrees I had chicken Marsala with veggies. My man had had the veal with capers others had the lobster raviolis. Veal florentine some had pasta dishes. Not one complaint was so good made a joyous day even better. 3.5 stars. I've dined here twice one time was two years ago, and they last time was a few days ago. The first time I had the eggplant rollatini which was very good! I was disappointed to see now that they took it off the appetizer selection menu as I was looking forward to ordering it again! I didn't find this time around too many appetizers that I was interested in ordering. They should definitely add the eggplant rollatini back, and add a couple more like rice balls, stuffed mushrooms, mozzarella en carrozza, and spidieni. The entree on my first visit was a seafood special I wasn't too impressed with that's what took me so long to return again. This time I ordered the burrata as an appetizer which was served very cold when burrata is suppose to be served at room temperature. On top of that the burrata and roasted peppers it came with were drenched in vinegar! It was like someone dropped the whole bottle on it, and it was obviously not good! For my entree I ordered the fusilli with shrimp, mushrooms, and zucchini in a tomato cream sauce. When I received my entree the tomato cream sauce was not properly distributed, and it was just on top of the dish and barely any on the pasta. I requested for the waiter to bring over extra tomato cream sauce. Once I poured more sauce on it I thought that dish was good! I loved the tomato cream sauce it was tasty! For dessert I ordered the carrot cake which was good, but it needed to be more moist. It was a little on the dry side from being in the refrigerator too long. I still would come back again as there are two more dishes I'd like to try the tortellini alla parmigiana and the veal osso buco special they had. The service was excellent here, and there is lots of friendly waiters working all aiming to please. Plus there is a very friendly man in the front that makes you feel welcome upon entering. This place is always busy as the parking lot is always packed! Luckily they have valet parking here as well. The prices here are extremely reasonable and the dinner portions are very generous! We went out for dinner at Nuccis on a Saturday night, having made reservations in advance for 8 people. The place was very busy and upon entering, there is no hostess there to greet you. There are people waiting around, seemingly unsure of where they should be. After several minutes of confusion, someone approached us and we let them know we had reservations. There was a small wait while they prepared our table but not too bad. The food was delicious but it took a little while to be served. But it was very good so I can't complain. It was about 3 hours to order, get served and have coffee. I do recommend it if youre looking for some delicious italian food. Make reservations in advance as it gets very busy. read more

Went there yesterday - the food was good, but the service and everything else was awful. Waited 30 minutes for each course. Almost 4 hours to complete dinner. Didn't even have coffee because we were too tired from the wait. Had to ask for forks, knives, cheese etc. The waiter was not attentive. Didn't seem to know what he was doing. we decided to have our sons baptism here and a month later and people are still talking about it! the food was absolutely delicious. the vodka sauce was the best i've had. the main courses we chose were insanely good. the salmon and chicken parm were hands down the best we've had at any place. the service was impeccable. johnny and paul took care of everyone, it was as if they were serving their family. when we say we'll have every party there, we mean it. every detail of the day was perfect. johnny even set up all my table items beforehand leaving me with a beautiful room and zero stress. read more
