Wow. Just wow. I can't imagine ever going to Nudy's when there are so many exceptional breakfast joints in the area. This is the most mediocre breakfast establishment next to IHOP. Yet they continue to proliferate like rabbits. My past experiences: * Eggs Benedict: badly poached eggs with hollandaise sauce from, may lightening strike me, a box atop a cheap, stale English muffin... * Omelet: sloppily made and stuffed with cold, shredded, from-a-bag cheese... * Bacon: cheap and flabby (despite requesting well done) * Potatoes: they somehow manage to cook their potatoes so they are burnt outside and pure mush inside... As a solid home cook, I can tell that nothing, but nothing here is made from scratch. Beyond mediocre. read more

I had a great meal here last week with some friends/co-workers. It was our first visit to the Ardmore location - we typically go to the one in Wayne but decided to try this one since it's much closer. Our waitress was great - she took our orders and I swear the food was on the table in less than five minutes. It was crazy fast - burgers, omelets and all! Fast service on a saturday morning. Ordered the strawberry cheesecake french toast, it was okay. Not a huge fan of the type of cream they use for topping (it's probably a ricotta). I liked my bacon and cheese omelette, but potatoes were unseasoned.They have scrapple too. The server was nice, the place is clean and well maintained. Congratulations Restaurant Universe for finding a name that sounds dirty to a 14 year old boy but isn't. The NMT and his friends dissolved into fits of giggles and red faces upon hearing of your opening. I doubt we will ever be able to get him in there without him at least blushing. The Reverend and I, being huge fans of breakfast, decided one sunny weekend morning to head over to Nudy's Cafe. They are now occupying the space formerly of L'Aragosta, Canby's on Cricket, and Auspicious Chinese. They have made some minor changes to the space, opening up the service area as a counter space, painting, and re-lighitng. It is bright and very clean. We were greeted cheerfully and seated promptly. As it turns out we were so early they weren't fully staffed yet (we are very early risers) so our host was also our waiter. He did a fabulous job of both without seeming even one iota flustered, over taxed or put out. This was actually the highlight of the visit and the reason why this is a 4-star place instead of a 3-star. The menu was broad and offered some more creative options such as different variations of cake made as french toast (AKA dessert masquerading as breakfast). They also had things like cinnamon bun french toast, etc. Cool. However since it's our first visit, we figured we'd go with our bellwether dishes: SOS and a Belgian waffle. Here's where our water excelled. "Do you do your Scrapple on the flat top?" "They can, usually they deep fry. Are you looking for thin & crispy? If so, you should order something else." Bless you, kind stranger. I switched breakfast meats. The food was...good. The Rev commented that the SOS tasted very much like the Stouffer's frozen SOS we keep on hand at home for SOS emergencies. He rather likes that SOS, it's quite adequate. The Belgian waffle was likewise good. Nothing to sound trumpets over. Fruit was very fresh and delicious. Bacon was divinely crisp, with that melty quality. Service as I mentioned prior was excellent, and the environment was pleasant. It was a little odd to be listening to "The Hustle" followed by "Mmmm Bop". Go home XM satellite commercial channel, you're drunk. Overall a pleasant if slightly forgettable food experience and great service. We can walk there too which is a bonus. We'll happily dine there again. read more

Welcome to Ardmore Nudy's! You will be a fine addition for breakfast and lunch in the area! I stopped in for the first time today after their soft opening this week. I was VERY pleased with my first visit! Great hash browns, eggs cooked a perfect over-easy, and my waffle was outstanding! Everything was plated well and looked very appetizing. Just what I've come to expect from Nudy's after going to the Wayne location numerous times. Not only was the food good, but service was spot ON! We will have to see how good service does once people realize they are open, but for the first week of a new business I was very happy. My food was out sooner than expected, water was refilled when it got low, and I was offered more hot water for my tea. The décor is very tasteful and the place still smells "new". There is a nice little waiting area inside and plenty of 4 tops and booths, you can park on street or in the lot across the street. Had a chance to speak with the owner who was already working on my only "complaint". They need some background music! It was so quiet you could hear a pin drop, or whatever was being said by other patrons...some music would really add to the ambience...He was already working on it so I expect to hear some background music next time we are there, which will be soon! Great food and service in a small warm inviting cafe. Great variety of dishes. The huevos rancheros were absolutely over-the-top delicious. There is a little something here for everyone. Oh my what a surprise! I've read some of the reviews and I'm totally lost on why they are giving low stars. We travel for food. We were hungry and wanted some breakfast...... Boom, look who pops up! Let's go. The staff is friendly (most of them) and the place is laid out nicely. They do try to put you at tables (that feel very cramped), but ask for a booth! So much more comfortable. Now let's get to the food. I Loved it. I loved all of the food that we ordered. People were saying it had no flavor, but I disagree totally. Everything we ordered was grrrrrr8! We ordered: *Seafood omelet w avocado *Salmon BLT w Turkey Bacon *Pancakes *French Toast *Lobster Eggs Benedict This place will be a regular with us from now on. Inaccurate online menu, food not prepared as ordered, poor customer service! Was looking on Yelp for out take out place near where I was working for the day. Used the Yelp order button. We ordered two California burgers. One with no cheese and added Bacon, one with pepper jack substituted (for standard mozzarella). I also ordered fries, because the descriptions don't mention them. I added a screenshot.of my order to this review; for the record. So I get a notification email the the bacon on the burger (one slice) is $4.25 extra. I pickup the burgers and mentioned that they could have called about the $4.25 for the bacon; as that is excessive. The lady at the pickup table said "sorry, I will discuss that with the Manager..." I SMH and drive back to work. Both burgers have cheese, both mozzarella...AND they come with fries. So now I have extra fries. Fortunately, the co-worker who asked for no cheese wasn't picky (or lactose intolerant or something). I will state for the record...the burgers were large, obviously fresh and juicy, and cooked medium as ordered. They were plain, but completely ok. Just nothing to write home about. I called Nudy's and told the same lady I spoke to earlier, that the order was wrong, and they should have called about the bacon and about the fries. I've been going to this place since last year and I wish I found out about it sooner! Nudy's Cafe is one of the best brunch restaurants I have ever been to! Every time I go, I am more impressed then the last time. The pancakes and ricotta stuffed crepes are two of my favorite items on the menu but there are plenty of other amazing dishes as well! I have also had their breakfast sandwiches on a bagel and a kaiser roll; I would definitely go for the kaiser roll. It is very good and the breakfast meat is great. Some of my favorite pancake dishes are the cinnamon bun pancakes, blueberry pancakes and chocolate chip pancakes! If you are a fan of cinnamon bun's, you will LOVE these pancakes! I have also had a few of their lunch options such as the California wrap; which is also delicious. I have also have has the pleasure of having their New England clam chowder which is probably the best chowder I have had on the East coast! While in the area on a Sunday morning we stumbled upon this Cafe after finding our first choice is closed on Sundays. The homefries were overly crisp on the outside and MUSHY on the inside. I am usually the person that asks for the homefries well done but this was just not proper execution. I would suggest laying a thinner layer over a larger area of the grill to get perfectly crisp throughout. My omlette was a nice size and priced fairly. The tomato tortellini soup was essentially tortellini in a cheese sauce (overly greasy and unhealthy.) Maybe I should have asked but I expected a broth based soup. We couldn't eat it. They have a small waiting area in the front shared with customers waiting for a table and those waiting for their takout. There was no wait however it was early (before 10am on a Sunday) You pay at the register after your meal. The service was friendly and quick. And I was offered more hot water for my tea, which means a lot to me. Overall, I would not visit again. read more

This was my first time in PA and I've got to say that I'm pretty impressed. Tried Nudy's with my boyfriend's mom and sister after church. It was only a block away so we walked. We thought it was packed but people were just waiting to be sat outside because it was really pretty out. Inside, you would think it's a little cramped because of the tables a tad bit close together. We sat at the corner table in the front room. The service was great and quick. Our server was nice enough to ask us if we preferred whip cream on top of the hot chocolate that Ashley and I ordered. I, of course, wanted some and she did not, so she appreciated that he asked. For the food, I was greatly surprised that they have a lox omelette. They don't have it in Hampton roads so I decided to try it. It had lots of smoked salmon inside and was topped with cream cheese and capers. For the price of about $11, it was awesome. If you get an omelette that had seafood in it around the hampton roads area, you would probably pay about 2 or 3 dollars more. I would definitely try Nudy's again when I come back here! read more

Nudy's, I'm cranky. I was excited because this seemed like a reliable breakfast spot, yet it still had that Ardmore-esque "somehow always smells faintly of Christmas" vibe. I thought I was going to get a really wonderful and unique breakfast as a result. While the price was right, the food was really not great. Scrambled eggs with provolone seemed like a great choice but the cheese had no taste and was very rubbery. None of the food had any seasoning. The rye toast was good (shrug). My biggest issue with the food was that the potatoes are marketed as home fries, but are actually hash browns. Those are two completely different foods. I don't even like hash browns, but looked around at other plates nearby and didn't see anything other than hash browns. Home fries are my favorite food on the planet - so as a potato freak I was sad to be surprised with something different. I got my check without an offer for a coffee refill, meanwhile every table around me got at least 1-2 offers. Usually come in here for a slightly over priced brunch that's crowded and noisy. Usually a solid spot and the 2 others in my party did enjoy their meal. I was upset by the fact that I specifically ordered my eggs well done - I hate snotty eggs, they came out full cooked on the top but the eggs were never flipped and on my plate they slid around because the bottoms were uncooked even though the top was browned well. Belgium ... Not Belgian - haha waffle came out nice and fluffy with a crisp exterior. Sausage was lump and juicy. Pretty standard breakfast and brunch menu but much higher quality than your typical diner. Overall, hard to say anything stood out for me at Nudy's. Decent price, decent food, good atmosphere. If you're in the area it could be a nice place to meet up with friends, but given the small streets and parking nightmare that is Ardmore, probably not worth traveling in town for. read more

As a huge breakfast enthusiast, I was thrilled to see this opening up on my street. I had heard good things about the Wayne location from others so I was more than a little enthusiastic to check it out. Despite it being the first week open, my friends and I were seated right away. Our waitress was very cheerful and took excellent care of us throughout the meal, including several coffee refills. I ended up going for the Crêpes, which were absolutely delicious! My breakfast companions were super happy with their choices as well. For the Main Line, the prices cannot be beat. The cost of a drink, entree, and side is basically cheaper than an appetizer at most other brunch places in the area. My only complaint is when you sit in a booth, the backs jerk if someone sitting next to you moves or the person behind you and that's kind of uncomfortable when you are trying to eat. BUT, the good news is, I LOVE this place ! I am particular about quality of food, quality of service and cleanliness of establishment. I have been to Ardmore a few times and Conshy once. The parking can be a little issue and hopefully you have change for the meter. However, the people who work there are amazingly pleasant and helpful; a huge plus. The food comes hot and quick. I usually get the same thing while my companions jumps all over the menu. My favorites are: Waffle with low salt scrambled egg, a $2. bottle of Maple Syrup and a big dish of nice thin and very crispy bacon....you can get butter on the side and the waffle has powdered sugar on top. I love my food hot and my coffee hot and so far, all my criteria for happy eating has been met at Nudy's! It's a tad pricey but it's worth it to me to get my favorite at any time; breakfast food. I am going to try some of the things I read on here that people like for a change of pace. I have had very friendly, fast and helpful servers.
