Ordered the veggie ramen with pork broth because I wanted more veggies in my ramen. The broth was pretty bland and I had to add salt and the chili seasoning to it. Wouldn't recommend. The customer service definitely brought down my rating. I couldn't finish my bowl and when I asked for a to go box, I specified putting the noodles and broth each in a separate container so that the noodles don't expand - this did not happen which was annoying. Also my friend asked for wavy noodles instead of straight noodles for her ramen and they messed that up as well but at least her broth had a lot of flavor. Probably wouldn't return. read more

Walking into this store reminds me a lot of Japanese restaurants in Asia - relaxed vibe, dimly lit. I had a curry with pork katsu which came with rice, miso soup and salad. They were a little shy with the curry sauce but besides that everything else had large portions. There was way too much pork katsu (I know, no such thing as too much meat) that I only finished half. You can ask for katsu sauce for it as well. The miso soup is rich in flavor and the perfect fix for a rainy day. They seem to be a little understaffed though. There was only one waitress (literally) running around taking orders and one other lady cleaning up the tables when it was only moderately busy (~70% full at 1pm Saturday). However, we still got our dishes in a reasonable time (about 15 min). Food quality-wise, nothing disappoints. I look forward to coming back to trying other stuff on the menu read more

I've never had their ramen, but this place makes THE BEST poke bowl in the city imho. The fish is fresh, the sauce is light and flavorful without being overbearing, and the diversity of toppings is impressive. Crunchy fried onions, sweet silky seaweed salad, toothsome edamame... every bite of this bowl is filled with amazing texture and interesting flavor. It's huge too - the price is a value for the amount of food you get. I always take a box home with leftovers. I'll drive all the way from West Seattle for Nuna! Came here on Tuesday for lunch. Promptly seated. Dining room is spacious. Ordered garlic tonkatsu Ramen. Comes with a whole egg, spinach, bamboo shoots, scallion, bean sprouts, black fungus (I think), pork and of course garlic with straight noodles served in a conical bowl. What the bowl lacks in girth make up in length. Raw spinach didn't really do much here except color the bowl. Would prefer Nori. Typical bean sprouts, and bamboo shoots. Pork was tender and flavorful (x2). Egg was plain (not soaked in anything) but a little runny in the inside which is how I like it. Noodles were cooked well, broth was not heavy(oily). The broth wasn't that garlicky so for you garlic lovers maybe ask for more garlic. I found most of the crushed garlic at the bottom of the broth which I drank. Perfect to avoid conversation. Stopped by for lunch on a Friday with three other people, and it was relatively full. Service was quick, and it didn't feel like we waited long for our food to arrive. Two of us ordered the Tonkatsu Shoyu Ramen, and the other two got the Poke Bowl. Both were pretty decent portions! The noodles had a nice bite to it, and the pork slices were nicely seared on one side, but still very tender. The Poke Bowl had mostly salad (rather than rice), but had a good amount of tuna and salmon, and my friends thought it was filling. Finally got a chance to try nuna out and wasn't disappointed. After bloom closed in Ballard, I'd been in need of a ramen fix. I visited at lunch time on a Saturday and the restaurant was nicely filled up. The restaurant itself is a nice open space with a friendly, attentive staff and lots of variety on the menu. Because I couldn't decide between the Garlic Tonkotsu & the Spicy Tonkotsu my server suggested adding spicy chili paste to the garlic which is what I ordered. Great suggestion. The ramen was served piping hot in a good sized bowl. I was pleasantly surprised with the generous amount of pork since a lot of ramen places will skimp and give you one thin slice. There was a whole soft boiled egg which was a surprise since a lot of places only give half. The broth was lovely & rich with the extra spice and the veggies had a lovely crunch. The fresh spinach was a good addition. Seasoning was right on so no need to add anything to it! Normally I tend to leave some noodles and broth in the bowl but this was worthy of finishing the whole serving! It took me a little while to get to Nuna as I haven't been impressed by the local Ramen I have had. Oops. My mistake. I ordered The garlic tonkotsu ramen with extra meat. The ramen was 11 + 2 for the extra meat made it $13. SO worth it! The broth was tasty and rich. Salty but not overdone. The soft boiled egg was perfectly done and I had just enough ramen left for lunch the next day. Our server Michelle was really friendly and informative about the menu at one point she even offered to ask one of the owners a question about the broth ingredients my roommate had. The place has great little details that make it feel like a nice experience. They were clearly very thoughtful in the details of this place . The broth did have a rich pork flavor but it was pretty one dimensional. The pieces of pork in the soup were tender and delicious. I would probably give it a 3 star for my own experience but added a star because my partner was impressed with the vegetarian ramen. She has found it difficult to find veggie ramen and pho that actually have a veggie broth. She said it was excellent. I'm glad we gave it a try. I could see giving it another. I ordered pork katsu through Grubhub and after reading the reviews saying the katsu sause was not enough, I requested extra sauce. When I opened the packaging, they gave me one extra salad sauce (the salad comes with the katsu), not the katsu sauce. Ok, I did not specify I needed an extra "katsu" sauce but I am ordering pork katsu here. I thought that was obvious. Nuna Ramen to me seems like a place that takes it's time with it's ramen dishes to make a quality product and a healthier version as to what you can get at the grocery store. At Nuna Ramen I got their Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen which contained pork, pork broth, egg, kikurage, menma, beansprouts, spinach, scallions and chili paste. This proved to be a great warming meal on the cold day that I stepped in here. The service was very good and friendly too. I would not hesitate for a return trip here whenever I am back in their neighborhood. More like a 3.5. The noodle is not bad but not that good. It feels more Hawaiian than Japanese with some weirdly innovative touches. The broth is a lot less thick like Hawaiian but not quite. The pork are cooked like Japanese. Then they surprisingly put spinach on top of green onions like I am not sure why. I get it they might try to do something new and but the end result is just a bowl of ramen which I don't know how to appreciate. The service is nice and relatively speedy. Craving soup and hungry on a cold, rainy day, the boo and I found Nuna Ramen on Yelp and hurried over. We started with the Pork Bao, which was juicy, oozing with flavor, and so delicious. We then had the Chicken Karaage, which was super oily and a little bland. Not really my thing. We then got the Garlic Tonkotsu and Spicy Tonkotsu. I don't like garlic and the boo doesn't like spicy so we didn't like each other's ramens. I enjoyed mine though. Not too spicy and the noodles had a nice texture. The pork in there was super fatty, kind of seemed like huge chunks of bacon fat, but there was a lot of it. The broth was oily, and our water wasn't replenished enough so I was thirsty and then bloated from the oily broth. Would definitely come back for more bao, and ramen when I'm craving it, but maybe will try a different flavor next time. read more

Been here at least a dozen times and this is my research. It is kind of weird, but i personally love everything else besides ramen here. ROTFLMAO!!!! Most of their apps are tasty, besides the okonomiyaki. Textures aint right. I love their shrimp shuimai as well as the gyoza. Ramen is not really authentic although every once a while, it is quite tasty. Most of the time it is passible. I would say Garlic, miso, and shoyu and their best flavors! My wife loves their veggies ramen with gluten free noodles! Poke - this is the star of the show. Hands down the best! I ordered some extra noodles for my ramen bowl, I love noodles! Again, it took a long time for the order to arrive, when it finally did, my partner got his full order. This place is mid tier - but pretty great in contrast to the mediocre at best ramen scene in Seattle. Kizuki or whatever it is called is the low end of the bar for Ramen in Seattle. $20 for ramen with an egg and nori hahaha right - and its not even good tonkotsu. Great ramen in Japan is $4 / 400-700 JPY and ten thousand times better than Kizuki. They also call themselves an Izakaya at Kizuki haha so not cool. Nuna is a good mid ground for price vs quality. This poke puts to shame all the raw fish I ate, gushed over, and even commented upon right here on Yelp. It is what my grandmother would have made if she was Hawaiian, knew how to cook, and Poke was something one cooks. Fair price. Homely atmosphere. This place has awesome vegetarian ramen! Definitely recommend! We asked for rice noodles instead of the usual ones and it came out hot and perfect. The broth is really flavorful with a bit of spice for good balance and chock full of fresh vegetables, crisp sprouts and lots of tofu. We requested fried tofu in our ramen and it was really good with great texture. Service on a Monday at lunchtime was fast and courteous and the space was clean and well kept. The one complaint I could possible think of is cold water in the washroom. On such a blustery day, I had hoped to have warm water to wash my hands before eating. read more

Went there today with my 4 yr old. The restaurant was super clean, same with the bathroom. The server was incredibly friendly and welcoming. We ordered the pork vermicelli and the Garlic Tonkatsu. The pork was delicious and the veggies fresh. The ramen left a bit to be desired. First, I agree with a few other folks here, the broth isn't as rich as you'd hope. I expected an umami bomb but I was left a tad underwhelmed, the egg on top was also a bit over cooked. The yolk should not be firm. Also, putting bitter greens in a ramen changes the flavor profile in the wrong direction. I gave 4 stars because I felt the meats were cooked well, noodles were the right consistency, and the overall conditions and appearance of the restaurant. Took off one star for the ramen broth only. My one complaint with this place was that the service wasn't great.
