It is kind of inconvenient that this place has no delivery option, because I think the quality is just one level above fast food pizzas, so not worth it in my opinion to sit down at the restaurant like a wood-fired experience from a few other higher end spots around town. Let's be honest the pizza is not even that good! As somebody who's had pizza in Connecticut Boston Philadelphia Chicago and New York City it's a shame to even call this place in New York pizza. It's nothing like East Coast pizza! The service is absolutely horrible. This place used to be decent, but has gone way downhill. my friends and I will never come to this place again after what we experienced with the staff making fun of a customer who was sick because of their improperly prepared food. Definitely not the real thing. I'm not sure why it's so hard for places that make the attempt. But this is not it. There's almost no carmelization on the crust. It came out a pale straw color, with no crispiness whatsoever. I have a feeling they're conditioning the dough with something, maybe oil or milk... not sure. That's the first problem. The next issue is just the cheese. Common let's-try-and-make-NY/NJ-style-pie error: too much dang cheese! Like twice the proper amount. Looks like they're using Bianco DiNapoli tomatoes, so that's cool. Wings were good. Service was good. People were very nice. Too nice to know how to put out a true NY pie. read more

Mixed feelings here about giving a review but I'll do it so the owners know. To summarize, you really do get one chance to make a good first impression. This is how it went: Greeted nicely at the door. Choose a table (ourselves) that was the clean one... Waited quite awhile for a server and wondered if we were expected to order ourselves at the counter? Menu had a fantastic selection of draft beers! Salad was really good but needed to ask for plates and utensils. Never saw our server again until replaced by a more professional server, thank goodness. Pizza was pretty good, not amazing but no complaints and we enjoyed & ate it all!! To conclude: For me, I can think of a better place and most likely won't be back here. For you? We just had one of the best pizzas I have ever eaten. Every part of the pizza was just so fresh and favorable. The crust was so delicious. They have a great variety of beers and wines to complement your pizza. The service was excellent even when the restaurant got busy our server was attentive. We sat by the window and enjoyed the people watching. My only concern was I was blinded by the sun going down and they did not have blinds to save my eyes. Before I say anything. Please call before you go into the restaurant. Yesterday I saw they were closed with a sign saying "we are closed until further notice." I really, really want to leave a good review. I really do. Their pizza is good, I love the hours, and the location is very convenient for me since I live near by. HOWEVER. NY pie has turned into a mess. Last time my husband and I stopped by, it was a month ago. It was 10pm and we wanted to sit down and eat. One of the workers was drinking alcohol on the job, and going outside every 5 minutes to puff on his e-cig. And another employee was wearing sweatpants and crocs. (Last time I checked, when you work in food service you must wear special non-slip shoes. And crocs aren't it!) I love the pizza. I love their late night hours. But they need better employees. They don't have slices ready, pizza takes over an hour even in an empty restaurant. It took 10 mins in an empty restaurant for them to take our order, not that big of a deal, ordered a slice of cheese pizza for my kid, they said they were taken, and it would be another hour before a slice pie would come out. Ok not a big deal we'll order a small cheese pizza, they said that would take over an hour because they had take out orders and that I should just order garlic knots. What? Empty restaurant, 1pm on a Sunday. If you're not open for people to sit in your pizza restaurant and order pizza that's a big problem. I heard that this place had recently reopened in the newspaper, so I decided to try it. Their parking lot is narrow and difficult, but I saw a couple of spots so I drove in. Then, the guy in front of me parks right in the middle, taking 2 spots. Rude! So I had to back out... a challenge. After paying for metered parking, I went in, ready for a good slice of cheese pizza. I go up to the counter, but... "we're out of cheese... probably 10 minutes." Wait... a place that specializes in slices, and they are out of cheese? It's 12:30... there are lots of customers waiting... It's the lunch rush, and kids are showing up from the school next door... and no cheese slices ready? These guys would be out of business in a New York minute if this happened on a busy corner in New York. No one is going to spend 10 minutes of their lunch break waiting for a slice. I ordered something else... lots of feta and onion, $7. While I wait, three more people walk in, asking for a slice of cheese. Two agree to come back later and one just walks out. My slice arrives, and it seems clear it was left in the oven to re-heat a bit too long. The cheese is boiling fiercely and the crust is dry and hard like a saltine. I wait for it to cool, and it's OK. The rim crust is as dry as a saltine cracker, so I skip that. After walking around the block for a bit, I return for the cheese slice I wanted in the first place... $5.75. I guess every slice goes back in the oven, even if it just came out. It arrives, not nearly as over heated as the first one was. The sauce and cheese are both thinly applied, and it's fine. Nothing special. The rim crust is again as crisp as a cracker, and devoid of flavor. I put it into the compost bin once again. I thought pizza crust was supposed to be chewy? Not here... Anyhow... not bad but nothing special. read more

On Christmas Eve we ordered a small combination pizza from NY Pie , We ordered it about 530 that evening we were told it take an hour to an hour and a half we said OK at 7 PM no Pizza 730 no Pizza we called at 8 o'clock that night to let them know no Pizza had been delivered it took them 15 to 20 minutes to find a order to be told that they had never made the pizza they don't know what happened to the tag so they said they would make a large force combination and we'd be the first on the list to be delivered that night It came around to 9 o'clock we then called them and said the pizza wasn't there a little bit after nine the pizza showed up much to our surprise it was two small pizzas my husband paid for it close the door came in the house we open one pizza box to find out there was missing pizza and there was one large slice that wasn't even a combination like somebody had eaten half of it and then threw another piece of pizza in it the other small pizza was intact combination. But we didn't know if it was somebody's leftovers what happened when I then called to talk to the manager he proceeded to tell me he made the pizza personally and delivered it. And I tried to tell him what was wrong with Pizza he began raising his voice and arguing with me and my husband took over explain to him which took another 20 minutes to find the original order he then proceeded to tell us we had no charge we weren't satisfied because he didn't seem to believe us about the pizza he told me I was lying to him. We waited until Monday morning and we took both pizza boxes back one originally with half the pizza there and another slice the other with the whole pizza combination with some missing that we ate but turned it over to let them know that Pizza was terribly burnt as well. We talked to the day manager which was so sorry that that even happened found out that the manager was actually the general manager and had lied to me he did not make the pizza personally he told his staff to not make a large pizza to just grab what they could I find this very appalling the worst service we've ever gotten anywhere let alone we weren't sure who made the pizza where was delivered or if we were eating somebody else's leftovers!! What we couldn't believe this guy was the general manager and he talks to his customers in that way let alone with Covid running around in our community and for him not to care to just give us whatever is totally unacceptable we will never order a pizza from that establish again I give them a -2 and customer satisfaction!!! read more

UNDER NEW OWNERSHIP 10/10 cannot of had a better experience. I worked at NY Pie as a manager years ago for 5 years. They since have sold to new owners and I have to say this is best service and pizza I have had ever. The new decor makes it fit in so perfectly to Sonoma County. The pizzas have new names, but the have the previous pizza names referenced next to the new titles. The owners are beyond amazing, and working along side their new employees and reaching out and introducing themselves to the new returning customers. This place is perfect for family dinner, night out with friends, date night, all of the above. They brought on previous employees, who gave feedback into how they feel the place could benefit more than previous, and they did not let us down. Come support the new local pizza spot of Sonoma county, and I promise they will not disappoint. Let the NY Pie legacy live on. read more

Terrible. Called and ordered a cheese pizza and garlic knots. The guy told me they were out of knots. I thought garlic knots were made out of dough but not here I guess. Quoted 30 mins so I came inside and waited. 50 mins later I asked about my pizza and he guy went and pulled it off the oven. When I opened the box I noticed the pizza was burned black. After having pizza in NYC, I can say this is not the same but its a decent tribute. It is a nice neighborhood hang out which attracts many customers for happy hour as the prices for a slice and a beer can not be beat. Because the prices are so great, people tend to linger so it's usually packed and wait staff is very busy. That being said the wait staff are friendly and do their best to serve. While i wouldn't say it is my "go to" pizza, it is a nice option in Santa Rosa for a casual, fairly inexpensive meal. read more

Less than poor, at best. Paid $60 for an order of pizza, wings, salad and one soda. After waiting an hour, the kid who answered the phone explained they had no internet and never processed my order. After a lengthy discussion, they agreed to make good on the order. 90 minutes later, I received my small pie and wings but no salad or soda. Never got the $10 refund for the half order. This is the tastiest pizza I've ever had! It was late at night and I had just gotten back from being in SF all day in the sunshine. I ordered a small, half Hawaiian, half Lady Liberty. Lady Liberty is similar to the Margherita style pizza plus garlic and some herbs. It was like 10:40 pm when the pizza arrived at my door nice and hot! The delivery driver was super nice! NY Pie has been my staple New York style pizza place for years - it's open conveniently late, accessible (just a couple blocks from my place, AKA walking distance for me and my golden, Bella), and the pizza is that yummy greasy feel good kind that reminds me of growing up back east. However, tonight I was disappointed and left unsure whether I want to return here. I'm aware of how covid has impacted businesses and their staffing, but this issue goes deeper than that. When I got there I was approached by a middle aged looking man who at one point mentioned he was the manager. He rambled on to me strangely and seemed intoxicated, which I found bizarre. Not helpful about the menu, admitted to not understanding the POS system, and when I asked a question to clarify the difference in inches between the pie sizes, he made a... I can't believe I'm saying this but... phallic reference. A joke about the size of a male's anatomy. I was not sure how to respond, never encountered this in a place of business before, let alone from a manager. Not sure if this is the late-night treatment but I don't appreciate it. The whole experience was odd enough that I'm more puzzled than upset, but overall, thoroughly disturbed. Not exactly how I want a pizza parlor to make me feel. Sad! read more
