I am not sure if I am going to buy a Fiat 500. My wife doesn't love it as much as I do and I thought this might be the car for her. This dealership is very clean and swanky to walk into. Reminds me how they sell Minis and Mercedes in shopping centers and malls in China! The staff here are very pleasant and low pressure. They are confident of the single model available now and will happily give you a test drive. I could go on and on about the product. The car has fancy features available and it's half the price of my Audi. Things that excite me on it are the black headliner available, blue tooth, and iPod USB port. When I wanted the iPod jack installed on my A4, the dealership said it would be $500! Can't promise everyone will love this car, but I think anyone can appreciate a new start-up, unique product, and well-designed store in the Domain with friendly staff too! My wife and I went to FIAT of Austin just to "kick the tires" and test drive a car for our kids to drive around town. We had no plans of buying the car and told them upfront that we were not seriously looking. Our sales consultant, Ami Groves, was very upfront about everything, she did not pressure us at all, and she answered a lot of tough questions knowing that she probably was not getting a sale from us. We took the car home to let our kids see it and see how they liked it. So, we discussed it and decided to trade in one of our old cars and get the FIAT so we would have a new car that was under warranty and had no miles on it. Ami bent over backwards to make sure we were happy and has even been in contact with us multiple times after the sale to make sure our questions were answered and that we are happy with our car. We had a dead battery the first day we had the car and I got a jump and took the car back to them for a new battery. They gave me multiple options on getting it replaced and were very accommodating. I had a new battery the same day and was on my way with little inconvenience on my end. I understand that all mechanical items can fail, so the battery was not really a surprise. We are really enjoying getting around town at over 30 mpg and I cannot help but laugh every time I fill up and it is under $40 for premium! My daily driver is a German car that offers superior service at their dealerships and so far, FIAT is giving them some competition. If they only offered loaners for all maintenance visits! I hope Nyle reads this as I have two cars from his dealerships...loaner vehicles! I cannot say enough good things about Ami. I had to get my car taken in for warranty work and was told I could get a loaner car since the repairs were going to take longer than a week. I was driven to the dealership -- which happens to be far very away from Austin -- only to be told they had given out their only loaner car. It would be nice if Fiat of Austin Service showed more consideration to their customers, especially after their cars fail well within warranty. I came here SPECIFICALLY looking for a Nissan Juke that was advertised on Craigslist as an SV model. When I received a follow up text from the internet manager Dave Jimenez, I even asked if this was the SV model, and he confirmed. I test drove this car for all of about 5 minutes because the location is so screwed up and there was backed up Christmas traffic everywhere at the Domain. Even so, I noticed I could not find the satellite radio and was told by my salesperson "we'll figure it out." I then purchased the car, and on the way home realized the car did not have many of the features listed in writing on the website, on the window sticker and in the Craigslist ad. I called and left a message (with Kristi the Customer Relations Manager) for Dave to call me. He never did, but it was Christmas Eve so I gave him a pass. Then, Dec 26 I called and spoke to Dave who could not have been more aloof and rude. He said "How did you leave me a message, I don't even have voicemail" and stated he never got my message. He told me it was my job to make sure the car had all of that stuff listed before buying. Apparently there is some clause that says even tough they misrepresented everything about the car, its my job to make a checklist in my 5 minute test drive. He told me he is in charge of marketing, and that he doesn't know anything about Nissans. He then said he just types in the VIN number and the list of options pops up and 90% of the time its right. (Well, when I do that it tells me its a Nissan Juke and asks ME to pick what model it is.) Basically, he was lazy, and somehow its my fault. So I then ask to speak to a manager before I really start saying bad words, and I'm put on hold, and then hung up on. Of course when I call back, They are all unavailable. I did get passed to the new car manager by accident who had no clue what was going on and took my name and number....again. Pete the manager called me back and insisted the car was priced correctly as a base model and was somewhat more sympathetic but also stated it was up to me to make sure it had everything. read more

LONG but worth the read: Do not trust service department, if you take your car here for anything other than an oil change, i suggest taking pictures beforehand and recording your communication with the service representatives. I took my Fiat 500L (under warranty) to the service department because my airbag/seat belt senor were ON/staying ON. I Immediately was asked if I had a dog, because apparently they've seen dogs damage the wiring to these senors before. I got a diagnosis almost 6 days later from (nick) in which I was told my the work on my car was not covered under warranty and i would have to pay out of pocket. I was told by Nick that the wiring was not caused by my dog or the wires had NOT been chewed on. (Side note: MY DOG IS BIG.) Either way, physical damage could not be covered by warranty, only damage associated with a short in the wiring. Weird part is, no other details were given about the damage. That part was the gray area. I read online that the seat track has caught other wiring, which I wanted to troubleshoot and see if that could possibly be the reason why. I requested images of the damaged wires and you can tell the wires were not chewed but there is significant damage. My car was bought 10/14/2016 and has 28k miles- I do not mess around with my car, so the damage is a huge mystery. They said it didn't matter, PHYSICAL DAMAGE, NOT COVERED. I called the Fiat Manufacturer warranty service line, Fiat warranty rep., called the dealership's service department to get the diagnosis. MIC DROP: The service department let the Fiat warranty rep. know that my wires were chewed ON. Suddenly, my wires were chewed on?!! I'm a young woman and not car savvy, I wish I would have known to take images of the wiring beforehand. I am never under my car seats, nothing would have caused the damage other than the seat track. There is definitely damage, however it is not due to chewing. That is apparent, no bite marks. I think they wanted a quick sale and saw an opportunity to take advantage of a young woman. Obviously, the logistics of filing a claim would inflate the dealerships insurance (claims), cause speculation for recalls, as well as delay reimbursement to the dealership. I called out the service department and dealership managers for lying, they are sticking to their story. They tried to objection handle the entire thing, something shady happened to my car and they most definitely lied. If physical damage regardless of the source, is not covered under warranty that is one thing. Please note, coverage has still not been clarified and seems to be at the discretion of the service department (they decide). If my dog in fact chewed the wire, I'd obviously just eat the cost. (this did not happen) I still have no idea how the damage was created, I wouldn't be surprised if they added to any part of the damage to cover their story. Worst experience ever and I'm still trying to get my car fixed. read more

I have never had this terrible of an experience with such a "new" and "expensive" car. If you buy this car you will not get your money's worth. The engines consume oil, needing oil changes every 3,000 miles, and are cheaply built. I have also never experienced worse customer service; I had a service representative hang up on me out of frustration after providing no solution to an issue on my car in result of poor outer structure. They take no responsibility for the issues that come with this car that they have poorly manufactured. My Fiat500x is only 3 years old and had to have the entire engine recalled as well as pieces continuing to fall off of it, right after it was returned to me. Save yourself the trouble and stress by spending your money on anything but a Fiat. :) read more

I was recently informed that this dealership sells more Fiats than anyone in the country. A little surprising, but then again Austin seems like the kind of town that would enjoy the flavor of car that Fiat makes. However, upon visiting the dealership, I found that one doesn't sell cars just because they're great cars that people like. The dealership is set up to make buying the car an easy, stress free experience. I was allowed to drive exactly the kind of car I wanted to buy with no pushy sales or tactics to make sure I was a "serious buyer". I wasn't steered toward the new cars or the used ones, I was given ample opportunity to inspect both. My salesman was very laid back and never pushed me into anything, just showed me exactly what I wanted to see and let me make my own decisions. Quite frankly, the cars sell themselves. The Abarth was very nice and a lot of fun to drive. I ultimately didn't buy it because the car doesn't really fit my lifestyle at this point and time. Ten years ago, I'd have an Abarth in my garage right now. Instead, I'm just waiting for the partner Alfa Romeo dealership to arrive so I can go back and find something I really want to buy. read more

I will start off by saying that I really love my little Fiat. It is so fun to drive and I always get compliments on it. Now, keep in mind that a few months ago I would have (and did tell a few) to STAY AWAY from Fiats and the dealership. But, as you will read, this has changed. I have the 2 door, sport with a sunroof and it is just plain FUN...which is what has been a redeeming factor despite the issues I've had that you're about to read. My purchasing experience was easy and enjoyable. My husband and I were very satisfied with the sales department. But, this was short lived once I had to deal with their service department, which was a NIGHTMERE (partially because they were still sharing a service department since the Fiat dealership was building their own). The service staff were rude, slow, and just overall terrible. They NEVER called back, updated, and it took 4 hours to get an oil change one time even after calling ahead. I have had a range of problems with my Fiat: a trunk rattle that caused a bunch of the hatch to have to be redone, a random piece of paper being in my dash and rattling (that took over a year to fix because it wouldn't rattle when I took it in...of course), my sunroof screen wouldn't latch (took 8 months for them to finally repair), something went wrong with the oil tank that turned out to be a recall, and then my valve body went out last month (with less than 30,000 miles on my car). With all of that said, I must say that what has kept me in my Fiat (because I was literally at a dealership about to trade it in) is the service and attention that Austin (Service Manager) and Lisa (Dealership Manager) have given these last 6 months. Austin is especially wonderful. He is extremely friendly, attentive, informative, and dedicated. I have even seen a complete turn around in the service staff (in a positive way) since he has taken over the service department. Lisa is also very responsive, despite the many customers/issues/every day things that I am sure go along with managing a dealership. The hard work and dedication of these two have kept me from trading in my Fiat, as well as have restored my faith in the dealership/service department. At this point there is only ONE thing that would keep me from purchasing another Fiat...the RIDICULOUS amount of time that it takes to get parts in. Unfortunately for the dealership, this is out of their control. But, it is seriously ridiculous. My replacement mirror took 3 months! My car went in for the valve body on Jan 14 and wasn't ready until Feb 6...because the part just wouldn't come in! I am seriously interested in their new SUV that is coming out in a couple of months, but most likely will not purchase it due to my fear of what may go wrong and how long it will take to get parts for it. Which makes me sad because I really enjoyed my purchasing experience with the dealership, as well as my experience with their service staff. Hopefully Fiat will be able to get their parts manufacturing under control soon. read more

I'm writing this on behave of my girlfriend and some of my views. My girlfriend bought this fiat car from another dealership about 6 months ago and she has loved the car. She started to have some problems with the car so we took the car in since it was still under warranty. First I have never seen so many people in a dealership not doing anything this is in the service department only. The front desk girls is playing on her phone. The service writers are just sitting there playing on the computer. You have mechanics sitting at the front desk not doing anything. We brought her car in and they told us that the car would be repaired within two days and that they didn't have any rental cars to give her. So she used my personal car for that time. We worked with the service manager mitchell so we thought we would get good service boy were we wrong. When we got done Mitchell would say we will give you a call to let you know when the car will be done or if there are any other issues so we said great. Two days goes by not one phone call. I told my girlfriend let's wait till tomorrow and see if they call. Next morning no phone call so I call and they say there waiting on the part and they will call when they get it. Mean while I personally don't have a car cuz I have it to my girlfriend to use cuz they didn't have one to give to her even though it under warranty. They ended up keeping the car over a week because they had to order a back latch kit. We never once got a phone call from them until the final day saying come get your car. I would have to call Mitchell my self to find out what was going on. For a so called manager of the service department this is pretty pathetic. I talked to the GM BRENT of the store that had not clue what was going on he instantly started defending his manager without really knowing what was going on. Crazy I love the car but really wish I could return it knowing this is the only service department in town. Went to go pick the car up cuz they said it was done and it's parked next to this red car parked diagonal. We're looking over the car and there is a red scratch on the side. Mitchell comes out and starts getting frustrated and says that that must have been there and it wasn't from the red car sitting next to it. Then he tells us what do we expect him to do about it. He tells us next time we come in it will be buffed. We started have problems with the fiat again this last week. The fan started acting up so we took it in. This time they finally had a rental car there for us to use but was given grief for using it. When my girlfriend showed up Mitchell was there again and said why do you need a rental car. She said to get around and go to work. Then he started to dig and ask what and where did you need to go with the rental? Can someone drive you? Can you use a uber? Wtf it doesn't matter what you need it for you have her car in the shop. Crazy. Then after they forgot about issuing a buff on the car from scratching last time. Earlier in my life I worked for a dealership before so I know how the ins and outs work for the most part. Every time my girlfriend goes in alone she feels like they are taking advantage of her and that's how I feel too by her explaining what went down when she was there. By the way when a car is buffed out they use wax as a buffing agent. So when they get done the car should be waxy and smooth. I know for a fact that her car wasn't buffed out because her car should be freaking shiny as hell and the car should feel like there is wax on the car. Plus you would think the spot would be fully off. I went with her this time not all of the spot was taken off and Mitchell looked super stressed with no real customers in the building. Fiat is a great company and has great cars I'm thinking of getting rid of my ford and getting one. I have been to a lot of dealerships in my day and this one is mind boggling horrible I mean I just don't get it. Brand is good dealership is horrible for service. I was a Mercedes owner, so I went to my dealership and all they had were SmartCars. 0_0 Not for me. We went a few other places and tested some hybrids and I hated them all. :/ We stopped into the Domain for lunch and while passing through, saw the Fiat "store". Don't let their boutique store-front appearance fool you, this is a car dealership and they do have cars for you to test drive and look at! We were greeted by a wonderful girl named Kristi and she walked us through the various types without using 'dealer-speak'. Though my spouse and I were together, it was obvious I was buying the car and she kept her focus on me. You have no idea what that means to women out purchasing cars with spouses or boyfriends--and the dealer ignore you and speaks to your dude. 0_o After a test drive, our dealer Kristi led us to a back parking lot where there were many more types of Fiat's to consider. I found a hunter-green with ivory and brown interior--and all these months later; I'm a very happy customer. The loan approval process was quick; they gave us a great trade-in offer on our Mercedes. When it comes time for my kiddos to get a car, we're going back here first! The dealership is always accommodating even after the sale; I was able to come back and get the protectant detailing that came with my package on my own time and without pressure - when they were done, they gave me a box of cleaning and maintenance products and walked me through how to use them. Of course today is May 6th .... and the promo ended May 3rd. Great way to make sure NO ONE wins the car! That said I have to say the old Domain dealership was full of great folks. Drove up early last year in my black 1984 Fiat/Pininfarina rag top and they went nuts over it. Wanted to buy it for display outside the dealership. Of course no way was I selling. But I did take a test drive and was surprisingly impressed with the get and up and go of the 500 and the Abarth Italian design touches. Dealership was still new then and willing to bend over backwards to make a deal to get the business. I liked it enough that I wanted to get my wife in to do a test drive but without luck. She just wouldn't move down in size from her Hyundai Sonata (go figure!) ... but then she hasn't ridden in my 30 yr old convertible in ten yrs because she thinks it's a death trap! Brought our car in to have the clutch repaired Thursday, Dec. 21st. Was first told it would be ready Saturday, Dec. 23rd. They needed to order a part, causing the repair to be delayed until Tuesday, Dec. 26th. When I called Tuesday, we were told a technician was held up on another vehicle, and our car would not be done until today (Wednesday, the 27th). We called up there this afternoon, only to be told the car had yet to be started on, and wouldn't be ready until tomorrow afternoon. I would never give a customer a time estimate if I was not sure I could complete it, by then. They seem to tell you what you want to hear, just to get you off the phone, then fix it on their own schedule. I have never had as poor an experience at any repair shop I have visited, and will never come here again. read more

I spoke with Jakob V. , and he was super helpful. I decided I wanted to check the vehicle out, so I took the drive from San Antonio to Austin to meet with Jakob on his day off. Unfortunately, he had a family issue to tend to, so he set me up to speak with Aaron D. Aaron was just as helpful and willing to answer all my questions. We went for a test drive and I fell in love with the car. Using RBFCU's service in conjunction with working with these two gentleman, made this car buying experience such smooth sailing. Jeff Maxwell finished the deal in regards to the financing part. He was patient with all of my questions and was good about breaking things down and explaining everything. Overall, I'm very happy with the car buying experience. I would definitely go with these guys again! ---------------------- Update: ONE DAY after writing this review, which is approximately 2 weeks after buying it, the 'Check Engine' light comes on. I called the dealership to speak with the salesman that helped me, but he wasn't available, so the operator sends me to his voicemail. I have not received a call back. I'm very disappointed. I understand that I bought a used car, but a big dealership like this knowingly selling a car with an engine problem and not calling me back, not even to say they can't help... that's pretty crappy. Now here I am with a car loan and a broken car. Had a split experience overall with Nyle Maxwell Fiat. Off the bat, Barry and Jose were great guys, not outwardly pushy with their sales tactics. The sales process was normal and I signed for a used Fiat and drove off. I was later contacted and spoken to by an employee in the back who contacted me about my trade-in and was so rude and tried to threaten me. I understand my situation was not normal but the manner in which I was spoken to and treated was unacceptable. Additionally, getting my title and registration took over two months and I do not plan on returning to a Maxwell dealership, especially reading the service nightmare reviews. I came to the FIAT dealership and I was honestly already put up with dealerships in general. I was looking to get into a used vehicle with monthly payments I could afford, and I was NOT having any luck. My credit isn't horrible, but lower because I don't borrow money that often. From previous dealerships, they were basically telling me I was almost impossible to get a used car in my budget; which was under 400.00/month. My husband and I went into the dealership, and were instantly greeted by Amy with a warm, friendly face! She let us know that she was here to help and that we should look all the models available. After some picking through, I decided I like the 500 Sport the best for what I needed. Now....take into mind that I already test drove a 2011 Fiat at a used dealership. She quickly gathered my information and took it to her manager. Within 2 minutes she told me I could get a new Fiat with no money down whatsoever and keep the payment at under 400.00 NO PROBLEM! I was skeptical, thinking they would come back on the deal once I found the exact car, but that was not the case. They never pushed me to make a decision and Amy was extremely helpful and realistic in helping me decide on the exact vehicle for me. It was an extremely easy process, and everyone I encountered was extremely helpful and friendly. Amy didn't try to put me in a vehicle I couldn't afford, but didn't short side me either. I got the best of both worlds with my new Fiat, and I couldn't be more pleased! One last side note.....the Finance Manager, Joe Ferona was amazing as well. He made my financing as clear as it can be, and was extremely knowledgeable. He was very thorough on letting me know my options as far a warranties and such; and helped us make good financial decisions to keep the payments where I want as well as extend the value of the car! If your looking for a used car I'll make check twice from this place! About a month ago me and my husband purchase a Ford F-250 truck look nice and decent figured It be in good mechanical condition and had gone thru a inspection before posting it up for sale been it's a big dealership and not a time auto sale place. Whenever we took It for test drive everything se fine till we pull in to lot notice coolant leak prior to sale they were able to replace radiador and fix that leak. Week later I notice oil spots in my drive way took it back and again issue was fix, week later everything ok, and comes this week my husband coming home from work on mopac traffic BRAKES go out. Than god he was able to pull in to a gas station where he notice brake fluid had leaked out n brakes where not working. I contact sales lady never headed back called office and explain situation aNd all they could do since It Was close to closing time 6:30 pm was let my husband pay for tow truck and hope there was still someone around to take It and ang get It I checked out the nexT morning. Whats wrong and so unprofessional was the fact that on the Saturday that we went to purchase the truck at 10pm there was plenty of help around to make that sale happen at any cost but when our brakes go ouT on a Tuesday at 6:30pm and possibly cause and accident "oh we have a family to go to". Husband and I are real Disappointed and really Regret buying from this place!!!!!!! read more

The hatch on my Fiat 500 Abarth was not working so I took it here to get fixed. 4 days and over $600 later my hatch works but my brake lights and instrument panel do not. I discovered the brake light issue when I got home. I called for some trouble shooting help. They told me to bring it back. I stated that I was not comfortable driving it there with no brake lights. They literally asked me (and I quote) "How far away do you live?" I guess the idea was that driving without brake lights should be an acceptable risk depending on how far I would have to drive. This was a horrible experience. All they had to do was replace a part and change the oil. It took more than a day even with an appointment plus they ended up having to keep it over the weekend. I will never use this service center again. read more

After owning my Fiat 500 for six months, the driver's armrest broke in half. That in itself is a problem. When I called the service dept they said they had to order the part and would call me when it came in. So, I waited for a phone call. Finally, two weeks later, I called and was told the part was in. (Was anyone going to call me?) I drove the 30 minutes to get to them, and sat in their waiting area while they put on my new armrest. When it was ready, I went out ready to seize what was left of my Saturday, but was unpleasantly surprised to see that the armrest that had been put into my car did not match the interior of the car. Not even close. When I went back in to tell them that the armrest didn't match, the man who installed it says to me, "Really? It doesn't match? I didn't notice." (I call BS on that - there was no way not to notice.) Then he tells me this is the armrest that was ordered, and if they try to order the correct armrest it might be two months before it comes in. (It's back ordered you see. An armrest. Back ordered for two months.) So, Saturday completely wasted, I asked if they could leave on the armrest they had installed, just for comfort sake. The part of the armrest that was left when it broke was sharp and I kept hitting my arm on it. The answer was no. They could not leave it on for me until the correct arm rest came in unless I wanted to pay for the armrest. I drove home, fuming about my wasted day, the wasted gas, and the total lack of customer service from FIAT. This is a NEW car. The part shouldn't be broken to begin with. And it shouldn't take two trips and a half dozen phone calls to get it taken care of. Two months? Really?? Bad form FIAT Austin. Very disappointed. (PS still waiting for that back ordered arm rest...) UPDATE 10/12 still waiting...... 10/13 called to check on the progress and was told the part came in late last week. Awesome. It's Thursday of this week, and no one has called me all week to tell me the part I've been waiting for for weeks is sitting there in the service department at FIAT. Did I mention I own TWO FIATs from this dealership? ((eye roll)) Not impressed. read more
