Worked a long day, on my way home I decided to order sushi I was driving when I ordered and I didn't look at the menu but I ordered what I thought was a spicy tuna with the crunch in it. I guess my description sounded like something else on the menu that was cooked, when I got home the food was hot and I did think that it was a substantially higher price than normal. I called and they told me I ordered a spicy tuna crunch roll that is deep fried. They offered to fix the order and give me the spicy tuna rolls that I wanted I thought that was incredibly gracious I came home with the correct rolls after driving back and they are some of the best tuna rolls I have ever had. I get the sushi lunch special a lot and it is a great value. The sushi is good and the lunch also come with Miso soup and a small salad. It is not a premium sushi restaurant but everything is good. The restaurant also has a very large bar. The decor is dark. read more

Me and my girlfriend used to go to seven moon until this place opened - since then we have been coming here almost every week for over a year - the sushi is so fresh and all the rolls are great !! I welcome anyone to take the o sushi challenge - u can't honestly tell me that you don't think this is the best sushi around- if so you should go to the doctors and get your taste buds checked - the place is awesome!!!! Bartender waitstaff and owners are all so helpful and friendly!!! Once you are done eating try a saki bomb - u can't go wrong !! Their food is amazing, place is clean/nice, staff are pretty friendly. The ONLY slightly negative thing I have to say is the atmosphere, if you don't go on a Friday or Saturday night you may find yourself the only customers in the place which can make for an awkwardly quiet meal. I know I say this about every sushi restaurant I review, but I kid you not when I say that O Sushi is the best I've had in Rhode Island. I came here because it was close to home and it was garnered a 5-star review. They weren't kidding. Now, oddly enough, when I go at 6:30 on a Sat it is completely dead. Yes, I find it weird, but I also realized they do a ton of takeout orders. Despite the lack of customers, the wait staff is super pleasant. The crab Rangoons are different in that they use egg roll wraps. This makes them crispy and try include a nice dipping sauce that seals the deal. The scorpion bowls are exceptional, except for one time when we went and it was a different bartender. A female I believe. Hers wasn't bad, if just wasn't the same. The sushi is phenomenal. We always get a couple of special rolls, my favorite being the o sushi roll and the hot babe. The ambiance of this place is very warm. Don't let the (now) empty dining room fool you, this place is worth it. Even better, it provides a very intimate experience for you and your date. We were surprised to find this place in North Kingstown. It's the best sushi we've found in Rhode Island without having to go into Providence. We've been for lunch, not dinner, and it was very quiet and peaceful with good service. The decor is trendy and sophisticated. Aside from sushi they offer a variety of Japanese and other Asian dishes including chicken, beef, and vegetarian options, so sushi lovers and those who don't like it so much can easily dine together. They have children's-sized portions of rice with a selection of meats and veggies, which is a refreshing change from the chicken fingers and hot dogs offered to kids at most restaurants. We would only bring a child during slow off-hours, though, not during the regular dinner or evening service. read more

I love this place. Sushi is second to none, staff is wonderful. It's set in a strip mall and I think suffers from the location. People speed by and don't know it's there. I hope more people go and see what they are missing. Huge bar, and great drinks. It's a little more open than most places, and seems empty due to its size. I like it as I don't like to be packed in like a lemming. If you like sushi, you must give them a try. The ice cream dessert is insanely good, so even if you had dinner, have dessert! I cannot believe how empty this restaurant was on a Saturday night! I had a craving for sushi, so after visiting my parents in Exeter and reading the local reviews, My Husband and I decided on O Sushi after reading what other yelpers had to say. We entered the restaurant at 8:00pm last night and there were 3 people at the bar. That's it! The whole restaurant was empty. Its a small place in an unassuming, little plaza on Post Road. It is very dimly lit with blue up-lighting and a nightclub/ bar kind of feeling to it. I would recommend more light, but other than that, it is very simply decorated and very clean. The bar is centrally located, with two-top tables lining the wall. With each table having one bench seat and one chair, the vibe was perfect for date night; comfortable and cozy. A beautifully lit, extensive sushi bar is viewable to everyone at the bar and tables. That sushi bar and the kitchen are serving up the best part of this unfortunately neglected gem of a restaurant....THE FOOD!!! In addition to the extensive sushi selections, the menu offers well priced options for appetizers, Thai styled entrees, and even a full selection of Hibachi choices. Sushi is available with both sashimi and nigiri options, but I settled on a spicy scallop roll and the Dynamite roll (spicy tuna topped with crab meat) with a bowl of miso soup. Mike chose sesame chicken with garlic noodles. The waitress, who was also the bartender, was very friendly and attentive and the food came out extremely quickly. Maybe the friendly service and quick food delivery doesn't happen when there are more patrons? I just can't figure out why more people aren't eating there!!! IMO, there would be no reason to stay away from this delicious food. My rolls were some of the freshest, tastiest sushi I have ever eaten and Mike loved his meal too. For the first time, we both left the restaurant with completely empty plates on the table. I beg you!!!! Please don't let this restaurant close!!! I know there are other great sushi, Thai and Hibachi restaurants to choose from throughout RI, but this is definitely a contender. They are even more affordable than any I've eaten at. If they were empty on a Saturday night at 8:00, I doubt the rest of the week is booming. This is now our choice for Hibachi and Sushi. Go there today!!!!! My Japanese friend saw the yelp reviews and wanted to give O Sushi a try, so off to NK it was. The interior is spotless clean and has a very industrial look with high, warehouse-like ceilings, and a polished cement floor. The decor itself is sparse and culturally in line. There was plenty of seating as the place was empty at prime dinner hours. It struck me as an excellent venue for a nightclub as opposed to a restaurant. The service was very friendly, helpful and attentive. In what I consider to be a downfall; despite the name - O Sushi is yet another RI Asian restaurant that insists on filling their menu with dishes that are not only, not sushi, but not even Japanese. There are several Chinese plates including at least one dim sum dish, a few Thai offerings, and at least one Mexican and one Italian item. I'm not sure why virtually every Chinese/Japanese/Thai restaurant that I come across in RI has gone down this path, but it's pervasive and in my opinion a significant mistake. I had the beef negamaki, a salmon skin and spicy albacore maki rolls as well as a sample of my friend's spicy scallop roll. The negamaki was pretty tasty, but the beef itself didn't scream high quality. The rolls were tasty but not what I would call out as great sushi. The pricing was in line with what you'd expect at a sushi joint. All in all, O Sushi was acceptable. The decor and presentation was top notch, but the cuisine did not quite live up to what I'd expect from an establishment that looked so upscale. I'd probably go back if the mood struck me, but given the lack of patronage during prime hours, I suspect they will struggle to keep the doors open. read more

I've been here four or five times in the past two months since I realized it was there! Holy cow, delicious sushi. By far the best I've had in Rhode Island. The service is so friendly and their lunch special is an AMAZING deal! Choose three rolls with soup and a salad for $12.90 total. You can't beat it - its more food than I can usually eat in one sitting. I get spicy tuna, spicy salmon, and the Philadelphia roll. Just so, so, so delicious! I'll probably never go to 7 Moons again after the last sushi I had there tasted like low tide! Especially now that I know amazing sushi is so close by. O Sushi is a gem waiting to be discovered! I have driven by O Sushi a thousand times and never thought to try it out because it always looks like no one is ever there. That is until my sons Mother (who is Korean) brought her parents there and they all raved about how great their lunch was. So last night she insisted that we go there for takeout. We ordered Spicy Tuna, Crab, Yellowtail, Salmon and Shrimp Tempura rolls. Upon walking in the place was pretty big and there were a few people at the bar and a few at tables- although it still was early. Michaela, my bartender, was very sweet and made me a great drink while I waited. Everyone there was very nice. My order was delivered after maybe 15 minutes. It's a really nice bar to go to even for a tropical drink. We got the order home and I will have to say I have had Sushi at Kon and in NYC, I just don't get why this place isn't packed. The sushi was fresh and put together nicely. It was very flavorful. Absolutely wonderful. I would have preferred that they had separated the different rolls in the containers because I couldn't tell which was which but that is no big deal. The point is the food was fantastic and the price was right. So, I just don't get it. This place should be very very busy. I will be coming back for sure. read more

I stopped in at O Sushi recently with my mom and sons for lunch. Although there were only a few other parties in the restaurant, service was slow but courteous. That does it for the negatives. I really liked the lunch menu. They have a signature lunch which is your choice of a main dish, rice and choice of soup and salad or spring roll for $8. My sons loved the miso soup, rice and chicken fingers. I tried the chicken fingers and they were awesome. I felt good about getting them a 'kids meal' that was healthier and tasty. I had a couple rolls with soup and salad. The rolls were great. Even my mom who is more a meat and potatoes fan and decidedly not a fan of Japanese food enjoyed the chicken tempura she ordered. I will definitely be back with my husband to try more sushi the next time we're in the area. read more

I did a quick search on yelp for sushi places and eliminated all the three star places, then right away saw O Sushi which had 4.5 stars. We were quickly greeted at the door and seated right away. Our server came over to the table, brought us two waters and took our drink order. Then we ordered, both of us had the three roll lunch special which is a great deal for $11.95 because on average it's about $5-6 bucks per roll. I came here with some friends after visiting the airshow at the Quonset airbase this weekend. I got the hibachi salmon, which came with some mushroom soup and salad. I really enjoyed the soup, and the salad was standard iceberg lettuce with some thousand island dressing. I thought it tasted pretty decent, but it would have been nice to maybe have a higher quality type of lettuce, like maybe romaine or something similar. But maybe that's just how it comes in other Japanese restaurants as well; I'm not sure. The hibachi salmon came with sauteed vegetables and fried rice. That was delicious! Our server was pleasant, but we felt that he could have been more attentive. For example, when I finished my ginger ale, I folded the straw down into the glass so it wouldn't accidentally get knocked over. When our server refilled my soda, he brought it back with the folded straw still in the glass. I was hoping that he would have replaced the straw. When my friends ordered sushi, they ordered it with the smoked salmon and cream cheese. There was a mix up, and we got served sushi with regular salmon and no cream cheese. The wait staff took it back and corrected it. As for the atmosphere, it was very pleasant. They play soft music which adds to the dining experience without overpowering it. I've gone into some dining establishments where the music is just too damned loud, and that's a huge turnoff for me. So all in all, not a bad dining experience, despite the small miscommunication with the sushi. And the food was great! I'd definitely go back if I'm ever in the area again. read more

We brought our 3 year old with us and the waitress was so attentive, she gave our child a water with a lid (without us even asking) and kid-friendly chop sticks to use.
