Since today is Tuesday and we loved this place my office decided to order burgers since the were $4.99. Placed an order for 7 hamburgers (some had extras so knew those would be a little more) they woman confirmed the order and requested it be done for 12. When I asked for a total she gave me 36 and some change then said hold on since its to go we charge you $2.00 a burger!! What they heck fine no biggie $51 still not a bad price for 7 burgers. Well get back to my office and I only have 6 burgers!!!!! I call and they say we only ordered 6 that's $8.50 a burger!!! Where's my deal??? I like coming here for the pub atmosphere. The food is good and the drinks are cold. I had the veggie burger this visit and it was a little disappointing. Looked like they just popped it out of the freezer and onto the flat top. On the other hand my family members had the chicken fajitas and the teriyaki salmon. Both of those dishes were delicious. I suggest that the chef consider making a homemade veggie burger or perhaps finding a better frozen one. read more

The prices are really reasonable especially for lunch. The salads aren't great here so I'd skip those but I'm a fan of the buffalo chicken wraps and the chili loaded with cheese and sour cream. Group of 6 and most everything was good. Waitress very accommodating.However, we were ALL disappointed in the garlic -Parm wings. No flavor and only a light sprinkle of Parm cheese over the top. "Where's the garlic???" On top of that, we had ordered 20 and were short changed. Music duo was really good on a Friday night 11/14/15 but by the time 8 rolled around, even at the back ,where we were,it was so loud we interpreters needed to talk using our sign language skills! A group of my coworkers, 7 of us to be exact went in and ordered food during lunch. We asked it to be individual but instead the bartender put it in all together. We ordered at 1210, (chicken tenders, sandwhiches, and salads), while waiting for our food other groups of people came in after us and were fed. When we asked the bartender she kept saying different excuses, by 12:50 we were like can you just wrap it up we have to be back to work. The part that really upset us is when the manager came out to bring our bagged up food he told us we hadn't really been waiting that long and gave us attitude that seemed like it was our fault the food had taken so long. Just wanted to edit my review and say my co workers and I just went again today becausae when we asked on Friday they said Monday would be better.....well today is MOnday and it was just as bad! Food again was ordered at 1210 and we didnt get it til 1242 (sandwiches) they were made wrong and all the veggies and dressing were priced ala carte unlike Friday. We work less than three minutes away and will be looking for another place to eat close by because the wait and the attention detail are horrible. Although the food was good and cooked the way I requested, the service was beyond poor. The restaurant was not crowded - my party was put in a booth in a dark corner and basically forgotten. It took an unbelievably long time for lunch to be delivered - 3 wraps, a burger and wings. We did ask for separate checks, which did not seem to be a problem. But when I gave a $20.00 bill for a $9.44 check and was asked if I wanted change I was a bit surprised. When I got my change it was missing the coins - not a lot of money but that ended up being the tip for such a poor experience in service. Additionally, the menu has been downsized considerably. And on the website the menu is not accessible. And charging for "gourmet" popcorn???? Won't be back! read more

Good local imitator of what TGI Friday's wanted to be. Irish? No way! Don Corleone is more Irish than this place. Not an ounce of Irishness to it, except for the name. It's in a strip shopping mall ... like it was dropped down into suburbia from anywhere USA. This time, it's in suburbia in a Kohl's shopping center. Prices are pretty average for Albany. $6 a pint for beer is a bit steep, even if it's a guest keg. Anyone can sell Bud and Coors for $3 a pint. No deal there! BUT ... the real deal comes with the meal specials. Sundays are 1/2 priced appetizers. There are $5 burger nights and similar specials. If you know enough to get the specials, then you can find a good deal on food. Other good things about this place ... Big sports bar! About 20 TVs! Multiple games on TV all at the same time ... And, there's Trivia. The local MENSA chapter huddles here Tuesday nights to compete mano-a-mano against each other via the live computerized national trivia game. (That trivia game would be OK, but it focuses too much on pop-TV and current culture to allow the real egg heads an advantage against TV and radio pop stars and starlets. Also, if you do play trivia, beware of the dead battery game consoles. There are a few game sets that have a shorter half-life than a firefly's blink!) Don't think this is a bad review. 3 stars is deserved. Their food is OK, their selection of beers way above average (though prices are steep for a rural/suburban enclave way off the NE corridor metropolis). NYC/Boston prices in Albany seems high. Worst dinner ever. They are in the process of updating the menu. Last night we went there for dinner. We ordered the lobster lollipops for $19.99 for two. These poor chunks of a lobster tail were deep fried to hell and back. They tasted like cheep fish that had freezer burn and should have been thrown out. The house salads were days old and the salad dressing was rancid. I specifically asked if the salmon was fresh or fresh frozen farm or free range. I was told fresh and free range. It too was frozen rancid fish that should have been thrown out. You had to beg for refills with your waitress. I would not ever go there again for dinner. It's s great place to go and drink at happy hour with friends, but after drinks keep driving down Central Ave to DelMonicos for dinner. The manager was there running from table to table making up excuses and apologising for the food. Horrible Horrible Horrible. Don't waist your time ordering the food, stick to the bar ! read more

No matter how busy they are, the service and food are top notch. They have nice outdoor seating with tvs and spacious indoor seating too. The bar is big and the bartenders are very friendly. The OTB is nice and they have a ton of tvs to watch sports. If I lived closer, we would be regulars! read more

Honestly, my wife and I tried to enjoy this place. We decided to go to this establishment while in Albany for a road trip. I wanted to find a nice sports bar to watch the Eagles/Patriots game. I thought it would be fun to watch a game in a Jets bar figuring it would be a fun place to hang out to finish the Jets vs Giants game. There was no hostess upon arrival and we made our way to a hi-top table off to the side of the bar. We sat and watched the room for a bit with nary a server in sight. More servers walked past without acknowledging us. Finally, after about 15 minutes, a server stops and says "Your first time here". By the look on her face, our decision to sit was frowned upon (Then have a hostess). Our server rambled off some specials and took our beer order. We ordered a flat bread steak with Caesar dressing and a quesadilla. After a 15 minute, were rewarded with the worst quesadilla I have had in quite awhile, tasted like the cook tossed the chicken in Adobo and just stuffed it inside a dry tortilla. The steak Caesar was Dole romaine in a bag tossed onto dry flatbread points with Kraft parmesan with some random steak thrown on top. Wow, my kinda of eats (said no one ever). Bottomline: food awful, atmosphere awful, service awful. You made me love Philly even more. read more

Been frequenting this establishment for about 8 years on and off (55/45). Service has always been mediocre at best but food was 99% on point & prices /specials (Especially burger night) were awesome. Hadn't been in awhile(busy with life) but were craving their wings( best garlic Parm in town) so me & the gf decided let's head there early (430p) beat the rush have a few & enjoy the food. BAD IDEA! Ordered 8ct wings but only got 7, no problem we thought initially they were delicious as usual & we never eat all 8 anyway so I didn't say anything. Then the "specials" came ( fish Friday). My fish was over cooked in the fryer by a solid 2 min & dry on the inside. Fries too, gf's was passable(bigger pieces of fish). Decided to say something (not complain) to the waitress. So she said she'd get the manager but ended up just "speaking to him" coming back & comping a round ( which is restaurant 101 & was fine because it wasn't about the money). But then the games began.....we were still having a good time together so decided to order another round....took waaaay too long and we were basically ignored until I got up and asked the hostess for the check. $57 for 2specials at 10.99, 2 rounds(12oz) and 8 wings. Very Disappointed with our recent dinner at O'tooles in Colonie. We have been comming regularly for the nightly specials. Tonight we were there with our party of 5 for $.50 wing night. Nothing was said by our waitress until we received the bill and asked if she made a mistake. She then told us that they recently raised the price and it now works out to $.72 per wing. When we told her that we checked the website and it said $.50 all she said was I'll make sure to tell the manager. The wings were kind of expensive at fifty cents since other bars have $.25 wing nights but now it's just not worth it. So long O'tooles. You are pricing yourselves out of the game. read more

This used to be my favorite go to place due to the amazing gluten free menu. The key word is use too. Went in Saturday night and will never be back. The menu was reduced by a third, when I mentioned my disappointment to the manager he actually argued with me that the menu hadn't been changed only combined. I then listed several gf items that had been removed. His response was oh yea we took that off the menu. I ordered a burger and halfway through eating it, I found a wad of paper in it. Hen the manager came over, his response was well it's only papa aped, it could have been worse, it could have been glass. We asked the server if it was under new management and she couldn't even answer. I will never be back and we used to go at least once a month. read more

We brought our assisted living residents here for a St. Patty's themed lunch outing and we definitely picked the right spot. The food was excellent (5 stars by most of the ladies) and the service was very nice. Two residents agreed that the corned beef should've been sliced thinly, since they couldn't cut it well. O'Toole's Restaurant in Albany, NY is one of my favorite establishments of its kind in the Albany area. O'Toole's has a very wide selection of items to choose from. I usually order the steak. The steaks are served with your choice of baked potato, delicious beer battered french fries, or garlic mashed potatoes, and a side of mixed seasonal vegetables. The steak is usually very tender and comes out cooked to just as requested. The beer battered french fries are very good, although they are a little greasy, but i still usually choose them as my side. They also have great soups, and fresh garden salads, delicious sandwiches, and another personal favorite, the fajitas. You have a choice of chicken, steak, or shrimp fajitas which are delivered to your table on a sizzling plate with peppers and onions. They also give you warm tortillas with fresh lettuce, tomatoes and sour cream to add to you fajitas. The appetizers are also very good here. The choices are very typical of a pub, loaded potato skins, mozzarella sticks, nachos, fried calamari and Delicious chicken wings. Although these choices are very typical they are all very delicious and make them worth ordering. My family and I usually choose the chicken wings as a starter to our meal. They are always crispy and spicy, just the way we like them. I would highly recommend giving them a try. O'Toole's has much more to offer to contribute to a great family dinner than their Delicious menu items. It is a very family friendly place. This Restaurant is always buzzing with the conversations of families, to people sitting at their full bar cheering on their favorite sports teams, to groups of friends yelling about the trivia questions, which you can play from the comforts of your table. Overall, O'Toole's offers a good meal with great company and a very friendly wait staff. I would recommend O'Toole's to anyone that is looking for a kid- friendly Restaurant to friends looking to go to sit at the bar with friends and eat delicious appetizers and very reasonable prices. If I could give it a lower rating, I would. My cousins and I visited here on a road trip. When we first walked in, there was nobody to greet us and no indication of if you're supposed to seat yourself or wait so we found ourselves a table. We waited for over ten minutes for anybody to wait on us so my cousin had to "bother" the waitress who was standing around chit chatting. She said she'd send a server over to us. We waited over ten more minutes with no service and decided that after waiting over twenty minutes total with no service, to go elsewhere. I would never go to this place again unless you don't mind sitting around with no service. read more

Although I brought my homemade lunch to work this morning, a coworker and I decided to try O'Tooles instead, intrigued by the placard outside boasting over 30 lunches for under $4.50. Upon arrival, we waited several minutes for someone to acknowledge us and seat us at a table. We arrived at about 12:15, and the restaurant was almost half full, with a few people at the bar. It took several minutes for the waitress to come over. We put in our drink order (sodas). The sodas were completely flat, so we asked her to take them back and bring us waters instead. We then waited 15 minutes for our waters. Since the lunch special menu did not sound that appealing to us, we decided to get a platter of nachos to split, and then depending on how hungry we were, order a small salad or dessert. So we ordered and then we waited. And waited. After 30 minutes of waiting for our appetizer, we were debating going to Moe's in the next plaza to get nachos. Just when we were about to get up and cancel the order, out came our nachos. The "platter" was more the size of a small dinner plate. There were about 25 chips, some cold, half melted cheese, a couple chopped jalapenos and tomatoes, and a side of chili. Definitely NOT worth the $9.99 price tag. By this point, we were starving and over half way through our lunch break, so there was no choice but to eat our cold, soggy, sorry nacho platter. I needed a refill of my water, but once our waitress dropped the check (without asking us how anything was) we did not see her again. So, I walked across the restaurant to the bar and asked the bartender to fill my water. All in all, a totally disappointing experience, especially since I work right in the area. Once we got back to work, we were both still so hungry we ate our bagged lunches from home we were trying to avoid, and now out a few bucks each. read more
