Just wow the staff here was so friendly. This place has a nice romantic chill atmosphere. We felt really relaxed and just got to enjoy each other's company it wasn't super loud like some places. We enjoyed drinks and appetizers before our main course. The pickle chips are really crispy and they were not greasy at all, the spicy ranch with them is great. The drinks were mixed well. The chicken fried chicken was very tasty the chicken had really good flavor and the mashed potatoes were really creamy. 10/12/20 - party of 2 - 8:30pm There's a new place in mid-town and it's a winner! Oak 36 is located in the Publix shopping center on Abercorn, just south of Derenne. Plenty of parking with indoor and outdoor dining. My teen had the Chicken & Waffles ($14) that he loved. The chicken tenders were crispy, waffle was nice and thick and the Tobasco syrup gave the dish a kick. I had one of the steak nightly specials with brussel sprouts. We both loved the rosemary fries. Our food was prepared perfectly and tasted wonderful! Our server Jessica was friendly and very attentive. Oak 36 has a limited menu but there's something for everyone. I saw several items I am looking forward to trying on our next visit. Full bar with unique drinks and happy hour specials. Loved the decor, especially the light fixtures. Plenty of TV's so you can watch your favorite sports. It was quite loud inside with all the TV's and acoustics. Way to go Oak 36 and welcome to the neighborhood! read more

Second time here and sadly was not a good experience. The service was INCREDIBLY slow. The food wasn't up to par like it was previously. And our waitress kept forgetting things we ordered. Only reason I'm putting it at 4 stars is cause of how good the first experience was. But next time I come here if things don't change for the better it'll most likely be my last visit. read more

The Cajun chicken pasta had a good flavor, but was incredibly salty. The saltiness pretty much ruined the dish for me. The steak salad was pretty good and the horseradish dressing was great. I am visiting Savannah and took my daughters out to eat for a late lunch. They were serving their Brunch menu....we got sat right away and the waitress was there quickly. She was pleasant and professional. I ordered the Avocado toast and Gouda grits. My daughter had the Avocado toast minus the egg and cheese. My 15 year old ordered the Chicken and Waffle. She loved it and the chicken was moist and crispy: I ordered my eggs over medium and when they got here they were over hard. After they were remade it wasn't much better. The toast wasn't really toasted and it was kinda bland. The Gouda grits were good but again could have used a little seasoning. I also ordered a spicy Bloody Mary that was awesome. Overall it was a nice experience but I not sure if they were just having an off day. I would order the Chicken and waffles instead. read more

First time trying this spot. May or may not return. It's in a great location with excellent service and the atmosphere is welcoming. My cousin had the waffles and chicken with the fried mac&cheese bites. This is her usual selection! I tried the mac&cheese bites 4/5. I had the shrimp and grits and spicy brussels. Spice on the brussels wasn't too spicy, however it had a vinegar test that was not the best. Brussels ranged from tender to crunchy. Shrimp and grits was average. Maybe will try again. read more

My family eats here pretty often. We enjoy the food, and the staff are very nice and helpful. I have never ordered from a 3rd party before. This evening, we ordered from here through SAVtakeOut. The order was just over $56, including tips, delivery fee, etc. Over an hour later, we were still waiting on our food. I reached out to SAVtakeOut many, many times. After those attempts, I called the restaurant. The manager was nice but not accommodating. He even acted a bit passive and nonchalant, correcting the price I quoted him on the call (he didn't include fees and tip), and he also debated the time I ordered the food. Sure, it had ONLY been 30 minutes- LOL. Who wants an hour old cheesesteak? He was unable or not willing (???) to cancel the order and refund it. I guess I just don't understand how a restaurant that is making money off of your purchase of their food and the business you are giving them is unable to refund your money if a delivery company isn't responsible with their delivery practices. I would think the buck stops with them. Anyway, the food was inedible. I had to throw away the cheesesteak sandwich and fries. I had to put the pizza in the oven to heat up and get crispy again. Kind of defeats the point of not wanting to cook. The fast food chain would have been fresher and tastier. I would suggest that restaurants be aware of the delivery services that are used. I google searched delivery services for Oak 36, and SAVtakeOut came up first. According to the manager, I could have used other services. Regardless of fault, a bad experience does ultimately rub off on the restaurant. At least have a contact with the delivery service that you can reach out to in case an order is not picked up in a reasonable time. Then, the restaurant should demand accountability. Ugh! Overall, the food was pretty good, thus giving me two stars rather than one. We walked in and immediately noticed that bartenders weren't wearing masks (correctly, mouth and nose fully out), I then noticed that no one was being told to wear masks, as all other restaurants in Savannah do. After over 15 people came in, that none of which were told to wear masks, just wandered around the store. After growing concern and frustration, I did ask our waitress, "what are your guys' mask policy?" And she responded by, "oh we don't enforce it because no one around here agrees." Which, is incorrect, this is the only restaurant I've been to in Savannah that I've ever had this issue with. I just want to make sure that Savannah still mandates masks, right? They do. Anyways, I've been here three times during the pandemic and this was the only instance that I've had an issue. Food is good, and the waitress was nice and helpful. I'm really here to let other potential customers know that if you're at all COVID aware and concerned, I'd steer clear of this restaurant. read more

Let me tell you the food was delicious, fresh, came out fast, and the customer service was remarkable. Brussels were crispy and delicious. The Pickled Chips were crunchy and fresh! You can so many of these pickled chips as an appetizer, like you could actually get full off of them! I had the O-36 Salad that had: Spring Mix, Brussels Slaw, Ham, Turkey, Bacon, Egg, Gorgonzola Blue Cheese Crumbles, Tomatoes, Avocado, Banana Peppers, Spicy Ranch Dressing ..... let me just say the Spicy Ranch dressing made me want to ask for another salad to-go! Don't walk... run... to this restaurant. There's so many options on the menu and the portions are just right. Very nice hidden gem. I've returned about 6 times in the last 2 months. The menu is severely underrated. All items are the menu taste so fresh and delicious. Tonight was my second time visiting Oak 36. They just revamped their menu and it's even better than before. I brought some out of town friends and we all loved the food. The Gouda pimento cheese and fried oysters were delicious starters. The Fresh Catch of the day (Wahoo) was cooked to perfection with an incredible mix of flavor and texture. I loved my braised pork belly entree (again, texture and flavor took it over the top). The service was fantastic all around. Haley, our server, was friendly, engaging, and, best of all, knowledgeable about the menu. The bartender also went out of his way to come to our table and answer my friends' questions in great detail when their preferred spirit was out of stock. This is one of my favorite restaurants! It's a sports bar but it's also a nice spot for date night. The staff are always amazing and cater to your needs. I had a great experience the first time. I went for bunch on Saturday and what I witnessed was horrible. There was a server young kid with glasses berating the bartender. All the servers were slow and lazy. They were hanging out and talking about what bar they went to the night before,instead of taking care of the customers. I've been bartending for 20 years. You don't want your back to the customer, but every one except the bartender had back to the customer. Every server would be fired from every job I've had. I'll never go back. I lost my review so I have to start over. I ordered a bean burger. I expected a good burger with a bean spread on top. What I got was a mixture of bean, maybe corn meal filler and some mystery met. They refused a request for medium- rare. They will cook only medium to well. I understand why restaurants are afraid to cook rare or m- rare but I grew up eating beef tar tar. I couldn't tell how it came out since it was a mixture. The bun was great. The sandwich came with fresh onion, lettuce and tomato. Flavor was good but not sure if it had any meat. We had an overcooked appetizer of macaroni balls but the flatbread was amazing. Cooked to perfection, it was fantastic. I was so anticipating this to be my new go-to place because of the outdoor seating. We finally got over there on a Saturday afternoon around 2 o'clock. They weren't all that busy. I went inside and I told them we were out there wanting to order some food and drinks. They said they would be right out. They gave us menus. We sat down and waited, and waited, and waited. No one came out to say that they were super busy, or down a server, or any other excuse. They just let us sit there and wait. Finally after what seemed like 10 or so minutes of being ignored, I suggested to my dining partner that we just go to Cancun. We simply got up and walked away from the table. No one came out to say "hey wait" or anything. It was as if they didn't want us to dine there. Wow. For all the money they paid to develop the menu and advertise, they sure did skimp on the one thing that will break a restaurant - service.
