Visited yesterday around 4, and we sat outside. Outdoor seating is HOT, unless you sit at the little outdoor bar area, which is cute. Maybe an umbrella or two can be placed outside? We were semi-shaded by a palm tree, but our friends were in full sun. We all ordered bowls for our meal, and mine was delicious! I ordered the pollo bowl with guacamole, cilantro, no cheese, no crema. My husband's order and one of our friend's orders came out incorrectly, but they fixed it pretty quickly. Also they brought me more cilantro, because I barely saw it on my meal, just a few pieces on the cilantro lime rice. The prices here are pretty good, compared to other places in the area. Our first time at Oaxaka was at the Yellow Green Farmers Market. We were extremely happy to find their new location in Downtown Hollywood. The restaurant is beautifully put together. They have indoor seating and outdoor seating available. Dishes we ordered: Chips + Guacamole - 8 oz Perfectly split into (2) 4 oz portions for two people to share. The freshly made guacamole paired perfectly well with their crunchy corn tortilla chips made in-house. Pollo Asado Taco Juicy chicken loaded with flavor. Paired with tomatillo avocado salsa. Ordered the guacamole and chips and the short rib bowl. The guacamole was fresh and good, but not spectacular. I did not like the chips, they weren't really nachos... too thick. Though crunchy. I ate everything together similar to a loaded nachos, with enough to bring home. Most of the friends I went with brought something home, so it would seem the portions are decent. I also got one of the frose to go, which was sealed (like a sealed bubble tea). It was refreshing. Would have stayed cool and frosted until I got home if we didn't end up going for billiards. Best meal we have had while on vacation here. I ordered a bowl with rice, beans, chicken, cheese, and cumin-lime crema. It was so good! I was sad that I could only eat half before I was full and couldn't take the leftovers because we leave in the morning. My son got short rib tacos and loved them. I've had Oaxaca several times through Uber eats and I'm person now. Their food seems a bit pricey at first glance, and I still feel it is a dollar or two higher than it should be for each item. However, the quality is phenomenal. The guacamole is top notch. I've tried every taco and can attest to their quality. Tuna Tower is also fantastic. The wonton chips are also a must. i have this place have been on my list for over 1 year and finally made it. i was really disappointed. the food: the gauacamole is a must, it was really good and tasted fresh. the chips are thicker than normal (more like a pita chip) and really salty. the short rib taco was not bad but it wasnt that good either. the meat was tasty but nothing that interesting. the tuna taco i keep hearing so much about was not terrible but it was way to saucy. you cannot taste the fish, made the tortilla break, soaky and the sauce is just so overwhelming for the size of the taco. Each item was clearly explained. I would use it again. I ordered chips and salsa. It was $8 it actually originally said $4 but then when picking what type of salsa. it adds another $4 . The salsa I picked was the roasted tomato one. It was absolutely delicious. The best salsa I have had. It was chunky and tasted fresh. Boy that was one good mild salsa. The chips where good. My husband and I LOVED this place! We had an impromptu date night and ended up in the Hollywood area.. decided to do a Yelp search by stars, and are so happy that we ended up here! Our server was SO FRIENDLY and really added to the overall experience. He explained that pretty much they offer five bases and then you can have them as either tacos, quesadillas, or bowls. Sounded good to us! We decided to start with guacamole, and then got tacos of each of the different bases. Guac was fresh, and the chips came with the cutest presentation ever. LOVED the detail! Chips also were definitely house made fresh. Onto the tacos- they rocked! We particularly loved the carnitas, vegetarian, and tuna tacos. So good! We stopped because we heard the chicken fajitas were delicious. We weren't disappointed, not only were they extremely tasty the homemade salsa that accompanied it was equally delicious. We sat outside because it was a beautiful day. That didn't stop our waitress from giving us exceptional service. I remember when this place was located in the Yellow Green Farmers Market, when I used to go that is, when they started charging $5 to park I never went back. But when I did go I never felt the urge to try this place. But the other day I took a debutante there and she liked the food, she even said the tacos were better than Bartaco which piqued my interest. So I decided to try the place out for lunch the other day, and I ordered 2 chicken tacos cooked spicy to-go. First let me state that I love "authentic" Mexican food, I'm not into Tex-mex, Fusions, or anything similar, but I will dabble in the unknown periodically. The tacos were $4 a price which is hefty, when I received them the robust aroma they were emitting was very enticing. I was given some kind of avocado based sauce, but no hot sauces which pissed me off. The tacos were tasty, but not tasty enough for $4 each, and I didn't find them more flavorful than the tacos at Bartacos, though bigger. All of them were perfection. The tuna was the most surprising, it was fresh (no mushiness) and tasty. The food is also super filling, nothing I've ordered comes with chips and at first I was disappointed but honestly if I had them something would have gone to water bc I'm always so full from my entree.
