We were recommended to come here by friends that live in the area. This place was remarkable. The ambiance was outstanding. They have an open kitchen so you can watch your food being cooked. Last week (March 2, 2019) I went to Ocean 302 to celebrate my 51st birthday and I had the best time in a long time!!! We were seated promptly, the food was amazing, as was the server!!! The fried calamari and the kale chips were perfect and the Breaking Bread was out of this world!! The house manager, Dov, came by our table to ensure we were satisfied and enjoying our evening and chatted for a bit, before my birthday desert was brought out.....the absolute best carrot cake I've ever had!!!! The first two times I ate here, I wasn't impressed at all -- felt it was pretentious and the food was at best mediocre. All this changed when I booked the Chef's Table for my friend's 60th birthday who loves 302. I booked the 6 course Chef's Table and it was a hit! The chef and his team were friendly, explained the dishes fully and how they were made, the wine pairings were excellent and the whole evening was first class. What a great team they have there! The next time, we'll book the 4 course Chef's Table as we were sick from so much food but we couldn't stop! I've been back several times now that I know I used to order wrong (BC - before Chef's Table). The burgers are excellent and the scallops are delicious as well. read more

The food is amazing, decently priced, and the ambiance in the restaurant was very pleasing. The only reason I give this place a three stars was because of the waiter Matthew. Matthew was subpar as a server, only visiting the table about three times, cutting off to walk away without asking if we needed anything else, and overall had a dismissive attitude. Atmosphere is great and food is beyond amazing! We were there for brunch and having a good time. The waitress spilled the Mimosas all over my fiancé and her friend, all the manager said was "are you ok?"... we drank, had food, and got our checks. No compensation or anything was done for our check, I talked to the manager... he was apologetic and ended up taking care of both bills... I wasn't expecting that at all. I went to the ATM near by to tip the waitress, as I'm walking back in the owners girlfriend/wife... not sure what she is. She decided to rudely ask me "do we have a problem?" I confusedly asked "do we have a problem?" As we walked in... my fiancé told me to leave it alone and then the girlfriend/wife rudely tells my fiancé "can I pay for ur dry cleaning?" (But said it sarcastically and disrespectfully)... as my fiancé tried to defuse the situation. The head chef then came over and once again apologized, he and I walked outside to calm the situation while my fiancé, daughter and friend stayed inside. While inside the owners girlfriend/wife tried once again to get rude/come at my fiancé like she was going to fight with her while she had our 3 months old daughter in her arms and at that point she had her boyfriend/husband/owner come over and tell us to leave. While outside the head chef was very nice and apologized once again for everything. I told him that lady should not be allowed to deal with customers since he and the manager had handled the situation and defused everything and had calmed it down. She made everything worse by making a comment after the situation was handled, he agreed with me and once again apologized. This lady thinks she is better then everyone and should not be allowed to be a "owner" of anything, she doesn't know how to handle customers/patrons... as a owner/manager/worker the customer always comes first and should be treated respectfully. This woman, whoever she is should not be allowed in a restaurant or any work place. This is not how you treat customers that come into your business. To the Chef, Manager, Waitress, and workers I apologize for this and you guys did an amazing job, thank you for your service. To the Owner... you should not let your wife/girlfriend near your business since she gives you and your business a bad name. Keep her far away from Oceans 302... it's amazing place and has amazing food... but this woman should not be allowed anywhere near it. read more

Food was delicious, wine prices were great. However, the paper napkins and flimsy menus seem to go against the formality of the menu- pick a standard and stick with it. That being said I would have given our experience a solid 4 if it hadn't been for our waiter. Such an uncomfortable experience, not only did he not have a clue but he spent more time standing at our table than he did any where else- suffocating. I think this is by far the best place to dine in Brevard County. You can get a burger, watch the game, watch the chef at the chef's table, get duck fat fries, an awesome steak and great service. By far the best place to eat in Melbourne Beach. It is a must try. The atmosphere is cool and rustic, the food is amazing, and the service is consistently exceptional. My only problem with the place is that I want to try everything! My favorite meal so far went as follows: I started with the penicillin cocktail which was gingery and Smokey. The risotto appetizer was rich and delicious. I took my server ellie`s recommendation and order the 10 oz prime filet cooked medium rare topped with bernaise sauce. The steak was reasonably priced and even came with mashed potatoes and veggies. Paired my steak with a nice cab. And finished with a piece of chocolate cake called the campfire. This restaurant was fantastic. The food, service, and atmosphere was above we have experienced anywhere before. There were 6 of us that had come to help celebrate our anniversary, and the staff treated us so special. Taryn Rockwell the Marketing Director went above for us. She had a bottle of Champaign and a small vase of flowers on our table waiting for us. Food was awesome, I had the 4 cheese toasted (melted in your mouth) and my husband had the beef with lobster on top with an amazing sauce ( another melt in your mouth dish), everyone else we were with also had great food. We enjoyed a specially prepared meal at Ocean 302 Bar & Grill in Melbourne Beach, FL at the "Chef's Table". Preparation for dinner started the night before with the Chef Matt from Ocean 302 calling to find out our food likes and dislikes. First course was Blue Crab fondue served with miniature fresh vegetables and crunchy bread. Very tasty. Second course was crispy duck breast served with a creamy mushroom Risotto. Fabulous. Third course was Prime Rib cooked to perfection with potatoes and asparagus grilled in their wood burning pizza oven. Excellent. Final course was blueberry cobbler with freshly made vanilla bean ice cream. Perfect last morsel for dinner. Had a wonderful birthday celebration there. The entire staff was interactive and engaged with making our meal memorable. Wide selection on menu for any appetite including kids. This place is Brevard County's best kept secret...get the word out and try it for yourself. read more

Came here tonight with friends I was visiting with in town. The service was great. Our server was very pleasant and funny. We all had something different. I started with the caprese salad. It was amazing. My main course was the fish and chips. It was absolutely amazing! If you like fish and chips this is the place to go. One of my friends had the lamb which I did not try because I am not a lamb fan. But another friend had the pork chop which was really good. Another friend had the petite steak topped with lobster. The mean itself was quite good; we had a variety of 'wiches' from their menu and member of the group had the scallops and commented they were well above average. The service however was pretty much an amateur hour episode-10 minutes for an initial table greet and the appetizers came out the kitchen at the 35 minute mark, about 3 minutes before the entrees were delivered/ all this and the restaurant had about 6 tables with guests and about 6 servers and food runners. Went here based on the decent reviews and was a little disappointed. First, for a family with 3 small kids - a 2 hour dinner is a bit too long; service was very slow! It took about 10 minutes before we were greeted by our waiter and many other items took an extremely long time to get...2 kids drinks took atleast 10 minutes; among other things. I had the 10 oz filet that was cooked perfectly, but lacked basic seasoning which would have greatly improved the taste. I'd probably go back; but first experience wasn't the greatest. read more

The Menu is somewhat difficult to a non native American as is speaks about Fork, Shared Hand etc. For the waitress is was her first evening so she apparently could not direct us in the right way. We had tuna which was a starter and not the main course as we expected. Nevertheless the food (we ordered more than tuna) and the desert were super. This is a favorite of locals and one of the nicer restaurants in the area. The owners also own the local grocery store so chances are you are getting fresh ingredients. The hostesses watch for you approaching the door and greet you by opening the door. This is a nice touch. They have excellent wood fired pizzas, burgers and salads. The Goddess salad is my favorite. It is an entree salad and perfectly dressed. It will not blow your diet. The specials have not been earth-shattering but the main menu is great. I eat alone at the bar frequently and it would be nice to chat a little more. Staff are very nice but busy. The by-the-glass wine selection is a bit underwhelming; the beer selection is very good and their specially cocktails are well done. I really like this place, after coming here frequently I still feel like a bit of a stranger. Maybe next time. read more

I have been to this place twice. First experience was really good food but with slow service. I'm not one to judge from one time. However I went back last night with 7 of my friends and it took 45mins just to get an appetizer order in. Also ordered drinks and the server forgot about them. To top it off I ordered the ribeye that cost 50$ and was very thin for the price. I really like the food here and would love to recommend this place. Yelp calling this a burger and pizza place is almost an affront. It turns out to be a gourmet restaurant to please the most demanding diner. I did get the burger. It was lightly charred on the surface, yet pink inside. Just as I like. The meat was succulent and flavorful. Our server told me they grind their own beef to the chef's specifications. Even the ketchup is made in house. The fries were freshly sliced potatoes and were fried in duck fat. Surprisingly, the price was only a few dollars more than one pays at a place like Chili's. We finished with coffee from a roaster in Cocoa Beach. Smooth and delicious without a hint of bitterness. The menu had dishes far more ambitious than my burger. We intend to return and explore further. When this much love and pride go into a hamburger, I have to wonder what the truly gourmet dishes will deliver. read more

French onion soup came out with black burnt cheese on it and the waiter tried to pass it off as "lightly toasted". Duck fat fries came out cold. Truffle and cheese pizza for kids was good. I go to Melbourne every month for work and discovered this restaurant a few months ago and was excited to take my family there since they came with me on this trip for spring break. We got there around 8:30 on Tuesday night and decided we would just get pizza that night and go back the next night for a 'real meal'. A tall, tan, older gentlemen was our waiter and from the beginning he had the personality of a soap dish. Seriously, the man should NOT be in the customer service business. We got the duck fat fries for a starter and it just came with a sweet ketchup that none of us really cared for. I asked the waiter if they had another dipping sauce, like a ranch or an aioli sauce to which he replied 'we have more ketchup!!'. Needless to say, all we got was ketchup. When ordering our food my daughter asked the waiter if she could get a Margherita pizza, which is just sauce, mozzarella and fresh basil. The waiter didn't attempt to go ask, he simply said 'we don't have that on the menu'. My daughter pointed out that the Bruschetta pizza on the menu had all the ingredients that a Margherita pizza needs. So the waiter asked her 'so you want the Bruschetta pizza?'. My daughter said that sure she would take that pizza but with only tomatoes, mozzarella and fresh basil. My son ordered the kids pizza and we got the charcuterie pizza. Our pizza arrived with the crust burt and the cheese wasn't melted, how is that even possible? My daughters pizza had no sauce and all 3 of the pizza's had SO much roasted garlic they were inedible. Literally that was all you could taste. And who puts roasted garlic on a kids pizza?! We kept taking bites of the different pies hoping to find a slice where you didn't get a mouthful of roasted garlic, no luck! We told the waiter that the pizza's had so much garlic that was all you could taste and they were inedible. He looked at us and said 'I'll let them know you're suggestion'. What suggestion? We were telling him the pizza's were terrible! In-ed-i-ble. We had 3 pies on the table with bites taken out of each piece looking for a slice we could eat, we couldn't. The waiter came by and saw all the uneaten pizza and asked us if we wanted them to go, was he trying to be funny? We tipped the guy our usual 22% because its not his fault he's too stupid to be a good waiter but we cancelled our plans to go back the next night and I'm not sure I will ever go back. Well the buzz was right!
