The restaurant is a hidden gem. The neighborhood was scary. The food and service were good.

After watching an episode of Broadchurch, we had a hankering for fish and chips! Searched on Yelp and found Ocean and it looked promising and conveniently located. It's a mildly sketchy strip mall location, but it's pleasant enough inside. We were greeted by the lovely owners and felt very welcome from the start. I can't stress enough how nice they are. We ordered a 3 piece and a two piece, one with the standard fries and subbed fried zucchini on the other order. We also couldn't resist the ideas of fried mushrooms. Of course this was an insane amount of food, but we have an air fryer for the leftovers. The fish was excellent, crispy outside and tender inside. So tasty! The fries were also nice and fresh and hot. The zucchini was outstanding, as were the mushrooms, which were huge. We have a new fish and chip spot for sure. read more

First time visiting today. The place was cute! It was clean and had a nice seating area. The owner was friendly and said he's been in business for 25 years! Wow! I can see why. I ordered the 2 piece fish and it was made fresh. It was perfect - it had the right crunch on the outside and the moist fish on the inside. Not greasy at all and the batter had great flavor. Very friendly service and very attentive. It's actually busy as people either come and go for pick up orders or come to have a sit down meal. I lived in the Bay Area and this reminded me of that style restaurant. The fish was great. The prawns were amazing and the burger I was surprised was also very good. I'm a huge fan of onion rings and I can be kind of picky but these ones have the perfect batter and were nice and crispy and delivered piping hot. Before your order comes, they drop off tartar sauce, cocktail sauce, ketchup, and ranch and squeeze bottles, which is very nice. Definitely recommend! read more

Last week I stopped by and had lunch as soon as I walked in the man at the counter was friendly and personal I got the 2 piece fish & chips they were fast on putting it together. He brought it out to me it was huge I loved that he mentioned the tater sauce they made homemade then for the 1st bite delicious, each bite so yummmm I couldn't finish it all so I took it to go. Nothing is better than good food and service after a bad day. We saw this place as we were driving and I had a feeling it would be awesome so we quickly stopped and went in. Hands down such great hospitality, service, and quality of food!!! I tend to be picky when it comes to fried fish because of the oily after taste. This fried food here is the best I've had. We could tell they definitely change out the oil consistently. The homemade cocktail sauce was fiiiire. We got the fish and scallops combo. Never had fried scallops and my expectations will be quite high after having these. Overall was super impressed with the quality of the food. Popped over here after some shopping and quite happy with that decision. I'm a huge fan of fish and chips and this is the spot to go! I got the clam chowder, calamari and fish and chips. The calamari had more breading than calamari but it was still good. I liked the fish and chips the best with the vinegar and tarter sauce that was given with the order. The fish and chips came with fries too. I recommend getting sides of items instead of the meal since the meals all come with fries. There was quite a lot of food too. The price range wasn't too bad either. We even took food togo since we ordered too much. Overall, the place isn't the prettiest but they definitely make good food! It's Palindrome Day, i.e., Seafood Sampler will complete my day . . . I ordered my meal to go; upon reaching my appointment destination, I began inhaling my choice delicacies which all the delicious prawns, fish, and tender scallops made me smile like a Cheshire Cat; however, the oysters were small and overcooked, i.e., therefore, I removed a star. Aside, after a few hours later, my stomach was churning feeling unsettled! Please note the seafood sampler was my FIRST MEAL and all I consumed was organic coffee I made and drank one half cup this morning. Heads Up, Ocean Fish & Chips Management: 1. Please FREQUENTLY CHANGE the frying oil due to experiencing egregiously unpleasant, mostly diarrhea and abdominal discomfort (IBS-D) a couple of hours later. 2. First the place is clean. Tables are topped with glass for easy cleaning. Salt, pepper, napkins and malt vinegar on each. No smell of fish or burnt oil. We had the 3 piece with fries and a 2 piece sub the fries for coleslaw and added a side of clam strips. The fish was very mild tasting but could have used more salt, I just added my own. Coleslaw was not overly sweet and had a hint of horseradish. Nice touch. The clams were good but they were nothing special and the serving size was on the small side.
