Came here for dinner. The service is friendly and straightforward. Ambiance is casual. Bento box is priced fairly compared to other Japanese restaurants. The food is served promptly and tastes good. Will return and recommend.

I've ordered from Ocean Fish Sushi & Grill a few times - mostly online and once for dine in. My dine in experience was positive - flavorful udon and quick service. Keep in mind that the seating inside is limited. You may be waiting awhile if you come with a big party on the weekend. My online ordering experience has been generally positive. Their estimated pick up time can be long, I've arrived around the estimated pick up time just to wait for 10-15 minutes more. Other times, they're right on time. I often order their rolls, bento dinner box, and udon. Chicken teriyaki is flavorful, miso is enjoyable and not too salty, and no complaints about the rolls (tuna, shrimp tempura, cucumber). Overall, their food is good for the price! It's not the best I've tried but it's one of the more affordable spots in Pacifica. If you're wanting good sushi without breaking the bank - try out ocean fish!

Street parking. Smaller restaurant but several unique sushi items. Hawaiian roll was excellent, no pineapple, 3 kinds of fish, avocado. 49er roll was very good, salmon, lemon piece, avocado. Bento box was good, rice, salad, California roll, fish. Charashi bowl was average, did not like the cooked white fish. Gyosa or Japanese potstickers was average. Service was average. Ambiance of a small cafe with 10 tables, relatively clean. Overall, 3.5 stars out 5, round up to 4 stars.

Three words: Warming. Cozy. Yummy. From day one, the staff made us feel right at home. The vibe is pure comfort, and the food? You have to taste it yourself. Me and my hubby have been coming here every week since moving to town almost a year ago -- and guess what? Nothing's changed. Still just as amazing as that very first visit. I can see myself coming here for years to come... maybe not 10, because life's full of surprises, but definitely as long as I can!

I fear the food was not it. My group of 6 came here on a Saturday night around 6PM and we ordered a variety of things: Hokkaido Winter Roll - $19, Show Me the Money Roll - $14, Double Hamachi Roll - $18, Sashimi Special - $31, Bento Dinner Combo with 3 items (tempura, California roll, and katsu) - $21, Hamachi Kama - $19. While portions were good, rice was mushy, rolls were falling apart when you picked up a piece, and fish wasn't fresh. They did give us a free roll though! Their menu has 3 deals for when you do pickup or delivery like free roll or soy beans (i have no idea why soy beans). The service was alright. They were limited in cups? My grandma was looking to have some water AND tea but they said they're limited in cups and could only do one.

Our first time here. Wanted to try a different restaurant vs our usual. Parking was convenient. They have a small parking lot in the back. We ordered to share: caterpillar sushi roll, chicken karage and vegetable tempura. We each ordered: tonkatsu Don, bento box salmon and chicken teriyaki, bento box tonkatsu and sesame chicken, chicken udon and nabeyaki udon. Drinks: Sapporo beer. Our food was good and they all came super fast. While eating, we noticed they had a lot of orders Togo. Quite busy with orders Togo. We would definitely come back.

I love this Pacifica sushi restaurant. I have never had a bad experience here coming multiple times and the sushi and appetizers are delicious. The food comes out fast and this has a very ambiance and vibe. I really enjoy coming here after a long work week and know i will be well taken care of. Thanks so much for a wonderful meal today.

Ocean Fish Sushi & Grill - Sushi Deluxe, Rainbow Roll

This is a solid sushi restaurant in Pacifica. I'm glad they managed to survive the pandemic. It can't be easy for businesses on this side of the hill because it's off the beaten path for most people along the east side of the peninsula. I almost always get the Sushi Deluxe because I love sushi & sashimi. The kiddo likes to get some sort of noodle soup, either Nabeyaki Udon or Tempura Udon. Parking is easy near the restaurant, either out front, around the corner, or at the school next door when school is not in session. It's a small restaurant with limited seating. There is a restroom at the restaurant. They have a website where you can easily order online and specify when you would like to pick up. The estimated time for an "asap" pick up order is pretty accurate. My food has always been ready for me when I arrive. Check their website for coupon codes when ordering online. Free Soy beans with orders of $30 or more with coupon code "SOY". Free California Roll with orders of $35 or mare with coupon code "CALI". Free Rainbow Roll with orders of $55 or more with coupon code "RAIN". Sushi Deluxe ($29.95) 5pcs Nigiri (tuna, hamachi, salmon, albacore, ebi), 5pcs chef's choice sashimi, 8pcs Rainbow Roll Lover's Roll ($15.95) Spicy tuna, top with albacore, tobiko & chef spicy sauce Negihama Roll ($5.50) Yellowtail with green onions. The Sushi Deluxe is a lot of food. It comes with a small salad and some miso soup. You can definitely finish this if you are famished. But more than likely, you will have some leftovers for the next day. Sometimes they are a bit heavy handed with the sauce on the Rainbow Roll. I love the simplicity of the Negihama Roll, and usually get this with my Sushi Deluxe. Not because I need more food. I just like having this roll.

This location failed me today. I hope they read this and take the time to address this issue so it won't happen to others. I ordered a bento box with shrimp tempura mix for pick up, I arrive and still had to wait an extra 10 minutes for my order to be completed because they said their system didn't get my order? As I was eating my meal I noticed that I only received tempura vegetables but no shrimp in sight. I continued eating giving them the benefit of the doubt, maybe the shrimp was in the bottom. Finally after eating many sweet potatoes and green beans I saved what I hoped to be a shrimp for last, only to bite into it and find out it was another sweet potato. Unreal, they totally messed up my order.

The restaurant is located right off Highway 1 Southbound at Rockaway Beach, which is a great little area to walk around in. There are coastline views, a handful of local shops to pop into, and the Mori Point hiking trail if you want to get in a few thousand steps. Parking is available at all times throughout Rockaway Beach, making access to the restaurant easy even during peak hours. Uoyakutei itself has a good variety of classic Japanese dishes. You'll find sushi, ramen, skewers, specialty meats and fish, bento boxes, all manners of rice and vegetables, and beer/sake all on the menu. On my trip there, I tried the Gyu Skewers, Chicken Karage, and Chicken Teriyaki dinner plate. All of them were amazing! Particularly the Gyu skewers. I don't know what the chefs season the meat with, but it's tender, juicy, and so very tasty. At $4 per plate, with 2 skewers per plate, they're a very good deal and probably the best thing at restaurant. The restaurant has a decent amount of table seating, as well as a sushi bar for single diners who wish to pop in and out and get something quick. Service is also very good all around. While the hosts can sometimes get busy checking people in and getting them to their tables, the sushi chefs and servers are all very welcoming and warm. It's a great experience beyond the food, and the food's quality just makes it an even better local spot. Highly recommend if you're passing through Pacifica and need your fix of Asian food!

What stood out to me on this visit is the menu has been scaled down from what I recall and is missing some of the higher end sushi . It took forever to get our sushi - nearly 1 hour and appetizer was serviced 30min after we placed our order. It took the server about 20 min to take our order from when we sat down. Overall impression is the sushi is avg at best (near buffer quality) and not anywhere near what it used to be when this place was popular and highly rated. The prices are also extremely high considering the quality of the food. I don't mind paying for higher end food but this place isn't that anymore. Some patrons after us were warned of the long wait and I wish that was communicated to us when we dined in. It took 2 hours from the time we got in to finishing up dinner for a small order (2 rolls, sushi nigiri package and tempura) . This will likely be the last time we come here as they really need to make changes from their staffing , menu quality and or prices.

My husband and I had dinner here tonight, and overall it was a really memorable experience. We've…read moretraveled quite a bit and tried sushi in many different cities, including around the Los Angeles area where we live and have our favorite spots. So when we visit a sushi restaurant, we tend to evaluate everything as a whole -- price, quality, service, and of course the flavors. For dinner we ordered the Mango Tuna Roll (which was our first time trying a mango-style sushi roll), the 8-piece Omakase Nigiri, a Double Toro Roll, two pieces of Otoro, and a hot sake. With a 20% tip included, the total for the two of us came to $163.50, which honestly falls within the average range of what we usually spend for a sushi dinner like this. Normally we might pay around $120-$130 depending on the place, sometimes a little more if we add an extra item or two. The portion sizes were pretty standard. Not unusually large, but not small either -- similar to what we've experienced at many other sushi restaurants. Where this place really stood out was the depth of flavor. The quality and balance of the ingredients were excellent. At one point I actually caught myself closing my eyes just to focus on the taste, which is something I almost never do. The preparation felt very refined and the flavors were elevated, rich, and memorable. I would describe it as delicate portions with very elevated flavors. Because of that, I'm giving this place 5 out of 5 stars. This is the kind of restaurant that works perfectly for a nice dinner with your partner. It's not necessarily a place where you go wild ordering everything on the menu like at a taco spot. Instead, it's better to be thoughtful with what you choose and enjoy a few well-crafted dishes. You can easily have a special, enjoyable dinner here without going overboard. Definitely worth visiting if you're in the area and want a quality sushi experience with refined flavors. The only thing I felt was missing was a small welcome miso soup. In some sushi restaurants we've visited, they serve a tiny cup of miso with a couple pieces of tofu as a warm welcome. It's a very small gesture, but it creates a nice first impression and adds a sense of hospitality to the experience. Considering the quality and pricing of the menu here, a simple welcome miso soup would fit perfectly with the overall dining experience.

I saw that the salmon roll was spicy but it was hardly spicy so that was a good thing for me. I enjoyed the corn tempura, perfectly crunchy and flavorful. The eggplant was also unique and tasty. It was enough food for two. Everything was a bit on the pricy side but the quality was there. Would come back to try other things and the omakase.

I am honestly contemplating giving Tom Sam Ramen a glass reusable container since I order so often there but haven't done so yet to reduce waste. I prefer the sushi nigiri special more than the sashimi special because there are more kinds of fish. Sashimi includes very thick pieces of fish, but they were maybe only 4 kinds repeated. Pros: - Great prices, especially for lunch - Omakase sashimi (anytime) is also a great deal at $38 for 9 pieces - Combos are also well priced Cons: - They are now on DoorDash, but none of the lunch specials are on the menu - There are no dinner specials for nigiri (only sashimi) - womp womp for me - Parking can be hard - it's on a strip and parking is often full in front. Unfortunately, they were out of one of my longtime favorites, the baby lobster. This time I ordered the Santa Barbara uni, ama-ebi, baby bluefin toro, and kanpachi. The Santa Barbara uni is still the highlight, rich, creamy, and absolutely delicious. It's still one of the best I've had, although I did notice the portions have gotten smaller. As a regular who's been coming here for years, I was disappointed with the bluefin toro and kanpachi. The bluefin toro lacked the buttery texture I remember, while the kanpachi was missing its clean flavor and firm, delicate bite. Overall, the quality didn't feel as consistent as it used to. We also ordered a few rolls and a bento box, which were decent. Service was a bit slow, although they seemed busy, and the ambiance was fine. I've brought many friends and family here over the years because this used to be one of my go-to sushi spots. It makes me a little sad to say this, but I do feel the quality has declined.
