I heart Ocean Fish! I have lived in Pacifica all my life, and there are very few restaurants in our fair city that I crave. The miso is wonderful and has a comforting quality. I'm a fan of the veggie sushi and their sweet potato maki is the best! My friend really liked the Ocean Fish roll, but would not recommend the Cali Roll. I also appreciate the large amount of food you get. The chicken teriyaki is really good - not white meat, but well cleaned without any strange textures. Yummy sauce as well! I go here whenever I'm wanting Japanese. The place is small, but the waitresses are really friendly. We got edamame on the house the other day! They are quick with refills, but rolls can take a little long - I've never really been bothered by that though. The only minuses - The Yaki Tori sauce had an off flavor, and the gyoza wasn't really that flavorful, kinda tasteless. Try to park on Manor unless you are heading back out of town - overall, there isn't much parking anyway! But hey! They deliver! read more

Alright, so we can here on a busy Friday night. Probably our own fault. We've been here before and the food was really good and pretty cheap, so we trekked back to Pacifica for some more. We had the two specials, and while they weren't bad, they weren't great. Stick to the menu. The Lover's Roll? A must. The waitresses were really nice, but it literally took 40 minutes to get our appitizer of veggie tempura. They apoligized about 20 minutes in and said that the kitchen was backed up, and through in a free bowl of edemame. At least that was nice. I ended up just getting annoyed that we were there for 1.5 hours when for an appitizer and two rolls we should have been in and out pretty quickly. The Mr. was actually still hungry, but didn't want to wait any longer for another order. I would come again, but avoid the specials. And avoid Friday night unless its after 9pm. read more

Ordered for delivery at 6:19 pm, and they said it'd be an hour. Called at 7:30, they said they were very busy and the driver was on the way. At 8:10, still no food, so we called back and they said they couldn't get a hold of their driver, so we canceled the order. At 8:24 the driver shows up and knocks, but we do not answer, he then tried the door knob, which was unlocked because I just let the dog out, and opens the door!!!! Sushi delivered to my door, what more could I ask for? Ocean fish opened up a few months ago, when they first arrived I wondered why does Pacifica need yet another sushi place? I was answered with, Pacifica has benefited greatly from a better sushi place. These guys have raised the bar for sushi in Pacifica. They are open all day from 11.30 so if you are hungry at 4pm you don't have to wait until evening like all the other sushi places. They deliver, did I mention they deliver? You can have your yummy sushi delivered to your door I may never order pizza again... The take out service is fast and polite, I am offered water or tea while waiting. I have used take out over 5 times and so far the orders have been perfect every time. The eat in service is polite and friendly, The sushi selection is the standard fair with a few fun fishy innovations such as the Sunset Strip Roll: Spicy tuna, hamachi, salmon and avocado wrapped in cucumber. Sprinkle Roll: Grilled Unagi, avocado, asparagus, tobiko and cream cheese wrapped in soy paper. Ocean Fish Sushi & Grill serves consistently good quality sushi. But I'm a die-hard fan because they deliver to my house! (According to Google Maps, they are 3.3 miles from my house.) My lazy butt loves having food delivered to my house. I mean why would I want to cook after a long day of work when I can have sushi delivered to my doorstep, which I can devour while going through my DVR backlog? I'd had delivery from Sushi Raw on the border between San Bruno and Millbrae, and they just don't compare in quality. Sushi Raw is Blah compared to Ocean Fish! This is so mostly because Ocean Fish doesn't use too much rice on their signature rolls. There should only be enough rice to keep the ingredients together, more rice than that is just trying to fill the customer up with cheap rice! When you're compiling your delivery order, I recommend considering these items that I have found delectable: Hamachi Carpaccio, Phoenix Roll, um . . . basically any of their specialty rolls with tuna and without unagi work for me :) read more

I'm so happy to have found a great sushi restaurant in Pacifica. I usually just get sandwiches from Colombo's, but decided to try something new last night. From the outside, the restaurant seems as though it would be extremely tiny, but it's actually quite a decent size. We were seated immediately when we went in, and they gave us a few moments to decide what we'd want. We didn't feel rushed into ordering at all, and our server came by when we had the "ready signal"--(menus closed). We ordered: Angel roll: was okay..I'll probably try something else next time. Rainbow roll: tasty but on the smaller size Walnut Prawn roll: my friend seemed to have enjoyed this one a lot Katsudon: my friend said it was very delicious DonKatsu entree: the portion was very good and they use white meat instead of dark meat! read more

Don't bother trying to place an order over the phone because half of the time nobody picks up, you are better off ordering online and getting it for pick up. We have now been here twice and have bookmarked it as one of our favorite Japanese restaurants on the Peninsula. The food is high quality and delicious. Some standouts are: * Appetizers - Fried Oysters, agedashi tofu, and miso (comes with chinese mushrooms in it) * Sushi - unagi and House Special Scallop (2 pcs at $4.95) * Entrees - Chirashi wth Japanese Rice, Hamachi Kama, Shrimp Tempura, and Unagi Donburi. Service is genuine, warm, and friendly. Michelle, Angie, and Ivy make up a wonderful team. They are all cute, sweet, and take sincere interest in your experience. Ordered to-go for the second time - first time we went to pick up and they forgot to pack one of our rolls in the bag. This time we ordered delivery and saw the guy bring the bag to the wrong house. Wasn't sure if it was our order or not so we called the restaurant to see if our order was delivered or en route. She was rude, snapped "it's on its way" and hung up on me. Few minutes later, my neighbor walked my order over, so she didn't even check for us or call the delivery person. Very disappointed!! read more

This is by far one of THE BEST sushi places I have ever ate at. We usually get it delivered, and it is always fast, and very fresh. They are reasonably priced for a sushi place, and have great lunch specials. My favorite roll is the walnut prawn roll and the fireball roll. My boyfriend is in love with the chicken katsu, and this place made me become a fan of it too! The only thing I don't like is dining in. There is really no atmosphere and its really quiet inside. Almost uncomfortably so. Its actually kind of eerie . But if all your looking for is an awesome roll, this is the place! read more

Why haven't I written a review for Ocean Fish yet? Anywhoo, I'll do so now. I love Ocean Fish. The service is absolutely amazing and all the staff is very nice. I usually come here with my sister and we have been happy with each and every visit. We've even gotten free soda, edamame and mochi a few times! Definitely a nice surprise. :) The food has always been consistently good for me. I'd suggest the Firecracker Balls. They're simply amazing. Delicious miso, too! Occasionally I get takeout and an order was messed up once, but the food was still yummy. I know I'll be coming back. read more

Love that there are so many places that deliver in Pacifica. I was a little skeptical ordering Japanese delivery, but it was decent. When you get a craving, it'll hit some of the spots for you. They had forgotten part of our order and came back within minutes and a free side dish to make up. The service is friendly and you can order online. This place is amaaaaaazzziiiinnnnggg and affordable! The gals are so nice and offer samples of the japanese ice cream, miso soup, and more! Their service is quick, clean, and the food is to DIE for. Personally I love the baked salmon roll with the yummy sauce on top. And their veggie udon soup is PACKED. Unlike some other sushi restaurants in the area, Ocean Fish packs their Donburi dishes with color, nori, ginger, and more. It really IS a meal, not just rice and meat. Go eat and enjoy! read more

Do get: - happy Hr! $2 hand-rolls and $2 sake mon-thur all night. - Hamachi Kama - the quality surpasses higher end Jap restaurant. - bento boxes - a la carte dishes. Don't get: - sushi. This was my first time eating japanese food. I liked the miso soup, a bit salty but flavored well. I didn't really care how the hot water was served in water glasses, it was too hot to handle. I ordered a pork katsu and my boyfriend ordered a nigiri entree, lover's roll and a screaming alaska roll. He liked his food but he over ordered. Since we ordered over $40, we had received a complimentary fire cracker balls. I normally dont eat seafood but I ate one of the firecracker balls. Mmmm balls... I fell in love at first bite! Sushi is at the top of my list of favorite foods. They have the best philly roll. Tip: try it deep fried, you can thank me later. If you're a spicy fan, I highly recommend the Screaming Alaska roll. I have yet to try their ramen, but I'm sure it won't disappoint. Long wait times if you're ordering for delivery. So many things were bad: the plates they gave were dirty and was a smear of someone else's old spicy mayo on it . waitress was super mean and wore food service plastic gloves but there was something gross about them and I even saw her wipe her nose with them. didn't even bring out all of the rolls we ordered. had a $39 bill, my husband gave $60 cash, and they only gave him back $8 and pretended like they didn't notice. also food is not fresh and I have a stomach ache now. definitely can't go back! read more

I was super excited when this place opened its doors within walking distance to my house. I've always been a fan of Sushi Koko and the Go Sushi options nearby, and will still gladly get my sushi fix from either establishment, but Ocean Fish has become my favorite of the Pacifica sushi options. The location aside, their food is always savory, and it's evident that everything is high quality. The menu has a wide variety of options, and some very unique sushi combos that you either won't find, or you won't find done NEARLY AS WELL elsewhere. The crazy monkey roll, linda mar roll, and 49er roll are all favorites. The service is great-- everyone is very friendly and helpful. This place is a bit pricier than the Eureka Square option, but better sushi overall in my opinion. read more

I personally don't like sushi with artificial crab meat but it's the closest I've tasted to the real thing. The sushi in general is pretty good-- the dynamite roll is da b0mb. They are nicely too-- not to big or too small. Plus, I'm not sure if it's because it was my first time there, but they gave me a free California roll to go with my meal. Thank you! This is my local sushi place. I go here frequently. The service is great, likely because I am here frequently. I don't even need to specify on certain items any longer, they remember what I like which I think is impressive given how many people are in there each night. It can get crowded as it is a small place. The sushi is what is expected from a place like this. It is not over the top great, but better than average for sure. Obviously I like it as I come back time and again. They have good specials, like a small beer for a buck. Who can beat that?! read more

Ocean Sushi is in my opinion the best sushi in Pacifica (and we have over 8 to choose from). While the restaurant is small, the food is wonderful. I will tell you - if you come during the rush of dinner (6 pm - 8 pm) you risk having to wait for a table. We almost always get sushi when we visit but I hear other items on the menu are also wonderful. Our table was not checked on and they rushed the bill too us when I have been ordering through out the service. Well presented rolls that lacked taste. I would give this place another shot though. The service and food here are outstanding. We ordered a Deluxe Sushi Lunch, but when it came we weren't aware there was raw fish (we don't eat raw fish as a personal preference). The waitress was very understanding and took back our order, and replaced our raw sushi with cooked ones, as well as giving us a complimentary roll as well.
