    Seafood Dip Stuffed Potato
    Jennifer J.

Gotta say of all the Talking Stick Casino and Resort restaurants we visited during our recent stay, Ocean Trail was the least favorite by far. From the food, to the service to the cost, all left something to be desired. I kinda blame myself for thinking I could get good Cajun/Creole food in AZ. Being from Texas and having direct decedent's from Louisiana, I should have known seafood gumbo and seafood dip Cajun stuff potato wasn't the move. Additionally it took a while to be seated as the bar staff, were the busters and servers and most of the limited seating was dirty and needed to be cleaned.

Ever since we had the oyster bar at the palace station in Vegas, we've been on a hunt for something similar! Nothing in Arizona has come close!!! Until we ate here... We each got the house pan roast and shrimp boil to share. Be careful with the spice level though...I wish I would've gotten a 1 instead of a 3. I'd say skip the shrimp boil if you're getting any of the specialties bc you'll have enough seafood..they don't skimp out on the portions! Also, I loved how they just kept the complimentary bread coming! It was so good with the pan roast. Shoutout to their staff for being so attentive. This place is good but nothing beats Oyster Bar at Palace Station...

When gambling you need to keep up your strength and eat! Decided to give this place a try. Seating very similar to other seafood pan roast places. Service was friendly and quick. Water, drinks and delicious hot bread brought to table. Ordered the crab pan roast with dirty rice and a seafood chowder. Pan roast had so much crab! Broth rich and flavorful. You may choose your spice level too. Chowder had wonderful flavors and lots of different seafood as well. There were many offerings besides what we had. So many options.

I love their Louisiana Gumbo as well as the masses. So much so, I missed the last of it by 15 minutes. Tried their beer steamed clams. Not the biggest size but the garlic-beer broth with small bits of tasso ham swimming in it made it all the worth while. Bread basket is always delicious pillows of heaven. Staff, from manager, to server, to chef, were all very hardworking as they were also upbeat. Which are the main reasons you will find me dining in this fun casino.

Met some freinds at Ocean Trail inside Talking Stick resort. Did not expect a lot being inside a casino, but I was wrong!! Very limited seating, 12 table at most. Not a huge menu, Not inexpensive, but Not overpriced, but what they do, they do well! Generous portions, pick your heat level and great balance of flavor. I only remembered to take pictures at the end and most of the 6 of us bowls were pretty empty by then, but thier pasta seafood special is in picture. Not only was it good, it was lunch the next day!

    Mmm clam chowder is incredible

This is my husband and son's favorite place to go nowadays. I can eat shellfish so it's kind of lost on me. I so much enjoyed the clam chowder (wish there wasn't bacon in it) and the fresh delicious ceasar salad. Oh and the bread, the bread!!! I did have some muscles which were very good. The chef made them special in white wine and garlic with lemon and butter.

Excellent food and service, flavors and seasoning are where it should be for a creole restaurant, go get yourself a plate

Nice little restaurant right in the middle of the casino. I thought it was a bar but it's a Cajun restaurant. I got the creole Cajun dish with the shrimp cocktail. You can order certain type of heat/spice to your dish. I got a 5 out of 10 and was kind of sweating. It was a great meal served in a bowl with rice. So delicious. They even have more hot sauce on the table for you to add if you want more heat. The shrimp cocktail was had 5 huge shrimp and they were meaty, fresh and tasty. I can't wait to eat there again.

Shrimp boil... and red beans & rice

Ocean Trail is located inside Talking Stick Resort. If you are craving Cajun cooking, give them a try. Food is prepared to order, and spice level ranges from 1-10. There is a large bar and a few tables. It's a popular spot, so there could be a wait to be seated. Accessible entrance.

    Pan roast combo

We are a sucker for pan roast every time we go to Vegas, we need to stop by Palace Station. So when we saw Ocean Trail serving pan roast inside Talking Stick Casino, we had to try. Started out with half dozen Blue point oysters from Virginia ($27). The sizing was inconsistent. We sat at the bar to watch the chef make our combo pan roast with spice level 5. He adds five spice, shakes the Cajun spice jar 5 times which corresponds to the spice level we picked, adds White wine brandy, more Spices and lemon juice. The pan roast had crawfish, shrimp and crab meat for $39. Choice of white rice or dirty rice. We chose white and wished we tried dirty which is white rice with ground beef. Never seen this option any where else. We enjoyed the flavors but the pan roast here was pricer and I'm used to having sausage and more seafood for lesser price. The creamy stew was on the thinner runnier side not chunky. The portions were also smaller. Reasons for the overall 3 stars. If you're craving and want to spend your winnings, go for it. Otherwise, get it at the original pan roast at Palace Station.

This creole food reminds me of home. Being a Texan that loves creole food I give this place 10 thumbs up

We love eating here. We normally sit at the bar area but instead we decided to try one of the tables. That seemed to be a mistake since our server never came back to take our order. Much faster before. After ten minutes, I hailed him down and also noticed that people that sat at the bar were served immediately. We gave the server our order and it must have been 25 minutes before we received our meal. There used to be an Asian lady cooking all the meals, but not this time. We both had the Crab Pan Roast which was really good as normal. The server came up to us half way through our meal and apologized for being late with our food and comp us a Key Lime pie. We will definitely return but sit at the bar.

My brother who frequents this place and the casino alot remembered I'd never had their Seafood Creole. He surprised me with one tonight, it was delicious! But as I was eating and looking at their menu I realized there wasn't any scallops in mine. Come to find out my brother also didn't get any I his as well. $36 for no scallops was a sad day. Lol either way I enjoyed it.

We ordered the yakisoba noodles along with the Family Combo F2, which came with crawfish, headless shrimp, and snow crab. The seafood was cooked just right, easy to peel, and packed with flavor. The crawfish, shrimp, and snow crab all tasted incredibly fresh, and the seasoning had just the right amount of spice without overpowering the seafood. The corn, potatoes, and sausage soaked up all of the delicious Cajun butter seasoning and were just as flavorful as the seafood itself. The yakisoba noodles were another standout. They were cooked perfectly with great flavor and paired really well with the seafood boil. The portions were generous, so you'll definitely leave full, and the quality of the food really impressed us. We complained about the shrimp and scallop quality and were only offered 20% off -- they didn't even offer to remake the dish. I did eat the side items -- the corn and potato -- because the waitress never came by to check on us or ask how our food was. I refused to pay for the seafood portion, and they actually called the police on me. I have never been treated so badly by a restaurant, especially when the food quality was that poor. So beware: if the food quality is bad and you feel it's unfair to pay for it, they will threaten you with the police -- who clearly have more important things to deal with than responding to a restaurant's food‑quality complaint.

You can make a reservation online if you prefer dining in the main dining area, but visiting around this time on a Sunday, the restaurant usually isn't very crowded, and you can likely get seated right away. We opted to sit at the bar area so we could watch the games. Since the bar wasn't crowded, we were able to relax, socialize, have great conversations, and chat with the bartenders and servers throughout our visit. I believe our bartender/server was Jessica, who was working behind the bar that day, and she was absolutely AMAZING! She was friendly, attentive, and very knowledgeable. She even told us about some upcoming specials for next month and gave us all the details. I really appreciated that she took the time to make sure we knew what was coming up. The young lady working the oyster station was also very nice, and the young gentleman working in the bar area was friendly as well. Everyone was attentive and provided great service. We started with the half dozen oysters ($22) and upgraded the complimentary bread to garlic bread for an additional $5. Jessica even offered the upgrade, which I appreciated. We also ordered two large Swamp Things ($20 each). For lunch, they have a daily lunch special from 11 AM-3 PM. I ordered the grilled chicken Alfredo pasta, which comes with a slice of garlic bread. We also ordered the catfish with dirty rice. Everything came out hot, fresh, and accurate, and overall, everything was delicious! The only thing we would probably change next time is the dirty rice. It was a little too spicy for our taste, so we may opt for regular rice instead or ask if they can make the dirty rice a little less spicy. Tip: Sign up for their emails to stay updated on specials and promotions. During your birthday month, you may also receive a complimentary item and/or dessert, depending on the current promotion. We really enjoyed our visit and the overall atmosphere. I honestly wish they had more locations because I would definitely visit more often. Hopefully, they'll consider opening a location in the West Valley in the future! Overall, great food, great service, and a relaxing Sunday afternoon experience. We'll definitely be back!

I was proactive and made reservations from their website. It was same day so we got in for 1:30 PM which was great when you want a lazy morning. Upon arriving, the location is in a shopping plaza but nothing else appears to be open or even in business. There's plenty of free parking in the lot but we took a ride share. There's nearby retailers like Costco but in this complex it looked dead except for Sugar Jam. When you enter, people were waiting to be seated and you can hear the music from outside! This is a lively, DJ friendly atmosphere with lots of activity happening from the bar to the dining room. The hostess checked us in, we walked around and took pictures, admired all the beautiful people dining and it's an open kitchen where you see the orders coming up. Mom and I were seated maybe 10 minutes after our reservation time. We were greeted by Vante - such a nice young man who was patient and helped us decide on what to order. We settled on the margarita flight, the watermelon hibiscus whisky smash, wings & waffles and the French toast and chicken. I also got blessed with a shout out from the DJ and a free shot for my birthday! The food came out quickly (however not together), was plated nicely and the flavors were present. The brown sugar butter and warm syrup on my French toast was a hit. The only complaint I'd note is the heat inside the establishment. I left my fan and desperately needed it. They did eventually bring out some industrial fans to cool the dining area off. The a/c needs to crank harder with all the bodies plus open kitchen. Love the decor, the space, & the live DJ. We got sat in the back room, and the table we were at was extremely warm. We couldn't feel the AC (no ceiling vents in that back space) & the fan they had in the room wasn't reaching our table. Luckily, our server Vonte was helpful getting us moved to the table along the wall once the previous guests left so we could at least feel the fan. But this was really one of the only negatives of the experience (along with there only being 1 toilet for how many guests can be in the space). I was beyond excited to see vegan options on the menu!! I didn't check ahead of time because I always assume I will just have to get avocado toast or a salad when I go to brunch spots with friends. So when I saw there was a little corner with 2 items for us, I was thrilled. I got the sweet potato veggie hash bowl, and I'm excited to come back to try the pancakes next time. The bowl was the perfect portion and filling. The sweet potatoes were a little harder than I like, but they were still delicious and the whole dish was well seasoned. I ate every last bite it was so damn good. My friends ordered the Salmon Croquettes & grits meal and the flapjacks N' fried chicken tenders. They were both generous filling portions (so much so they both had to take food home), and they both enjoyed what they ordered. It's super far north for me, but it's totally worth the drive for the weekend brunch vibes. Can't wait to come back again!
