Mardi Gras Roll & Louisiana Roll So much food! Why I love this place. Their Canadian used to be my favorite-but it looks like they've changed the salmon they use. No biggie. This place serves some of the biggest rolls I've seen. Go check them out and see for yourself!

This restaurant has been around forever and I'm glad I came back - it's been years! It's in a nondescript strip mall and tough to see off 86th street unless you're looking for it. The service is efficient and quick but you won't feel rushed. My favorite. Very well priced and plentiful. We came during lunch so got the lunch time special. For about $16 you CANNOT beat this deal- salad or miso soup, select from a good list of rolls (mine ended up about 10 pieces with lots of additional crab on top, 2 pieces of sashimi, and another side. I got the 3 gyoza and this lunch was huge. The ambience is warm and casual. Good for lunch dates, kids, time with friends! After writing this I think I need to go back soon!

Good ambiance, good food. I ordered the Gyoza as an appetizer. It was fresh and the flavors were authentic. Some Miso Soup, which was the average you can get. Then the Chirashi Sushi Bowl. Fresh fish and a good portion left no room for more. I just wish they had seating at the Sushi Bar... Will come back to check other dishes!

Been coming here for 15 years and never fails. Bob's Roll is fantastic and it's a classic. Same people have worked there for years and service is always great. You've also gotta get their shrimp shumai. Will be back of course!

Okay probably the worst Japanese cuisine I've ever had in the USA. This was unfortunate as the reviews from others gave me high hopes, but no it was a let down so bad I don't think it will be given a 3 try chance. 1. Garlic Edamame was bad, it tasted like salt and pepper pork rinds. Wasn't just me who thought this. 2/10 I mean how do you make bad edamame? Well surprised me... They did. 2. Soft Shell Crab roll! (In photo) was absolutely terrible! Whoever thought deep frying soft shell crab, and then just smashing it into a mushy blob and wrapping seaweed and rice around it , and serving it... Well... I'll leave it there, it was a HARD 3/10 because of price and quality. 3. Belly sushi was good 8/10 but price to portion comparing everywhere I've been to eat dropped the entire experience to 5/10. The cuts were terribly thin, like they were trying to save money and get more cuts to profits.

I was on the hunt for a bento box and was happy to find Ocean World. I ordered the chicken teriyaki and California roll bento along with seaweed salad. The chicken teriyaki was more for my kids to share and it was nothing special. Just chicken teriyaki but always a hit with my kids. I liked the assortment you get with the bento (miso soup or salad and tempura veggies & shrimp). It's a lot of food for one person! I ended up only eating a few bites of everything in the bento and even sharing the chicken with my kids gave us a good amount of left overs for the next day. I ordered the food to-go. I'm glad that they put plastic wrap over the items that might spill because the box with the teriyaki had a little sauce coming out of it and it was saved by the plastic wrap which avoided mess in my car! Pretty solid place for some Japanese food!

I grew up going to Ocean World. The ambiance in the restaurant almost transports you to another world! I always love seeing the sushi chef behind the bar working the rice into beautiful rolls. The staff has always been kind. My mom surprised my and my family with a sushi platter from Ocean World and it was like a work of art! I personally love sashimi and raw fish and feel that ocean world always does an amazing job with this! My mom selected the rolls in the platter (she does not like raw fish) and they were good but lacked some of the freshness I like with the other types of rolls. (This is likely just my personal taste). The tofu was AMAZING! After living in Japan for 2 years, a visit to Ocean World often satisfies my cravings for authentic Japanese food. Some of my favorite items to order here include: Takoyaki (usually piping hot how it should be:), Katsudon, and Chirashi! (The chirashi is great if you like raw fish). If you like Japanese food and haven't visited Ocean World yet, give them a visit and experience it for yourself! :)

I have been eating here for years and they never disappoint! The best place to get Japanese food in Indy. The sushi is fresh and they have so many options to choose from. The servers are really nice, especially Noi!

I have dined here several times and enjoyed everything I have eaten- from sushi, to soup and the appetizers. The dinner portions are a really good size and I always go home stuffed! I recommend the chirashi bowl if you're a sashimi lover. You get a little bit of everything. We have ordered the sushi/salmon bento box thinking we get more salmon rolls, but it is actually a cooked salmon! Don't make the same mistake as is if you're expecting raw salmon!!

I came to ocean world for lunch and they have so many delicious options as lunch specials. Our server was polite and attentive, asking if we wanted a refill on drinks as we were getting close to finish our cups. The decor was not my favorite but it was still a clean environment, with paper lined tables for easy cleanup. I ordered the Las Vegas roll and the sweet chili shrimp, both of which were delicious. I'll be back for lunch again soon!

My favorite sushi spot in town! Always good, never disappointed. And affordable! Chose to go here on my bday when I could pick anywhere in town!

A friend and I came in for dinner here and because sushi is my favorite food.. i came in with high expectations and was disappointed. The two appetizers we ordered were great. we ordered the fried and steamed dumplings and both were great. But unfortunately thats were the good things end. The Ramen my friend ordered came out quickly while it took over 40 minutes for my food to come out. He had already finished his dinner by the time mine had come out. When the 5 rolls I had ordered finally came out.. they were very disappointing. The fish tasted old and not fresh at all. The server was also new and had no idea what kind of beers they had. I won't be back here.. will definitely be looking for better sushi spots in Indianapolis.

The lobster roll was soggy and honestly? Too much. I prefer a classic lobster roll - warm, lobster, bread that still has a little crunch to it (just the tiniest bit), butter - but not too much. This was soggy and the celery situation took away from the essence of a lobster roll for me. I've never liked the lobster salad rolls, and I did make sure there would be no mayo - but I think this was a bit much. Too much butter. Too many toppings. The flavor wasn't amazing. My dad really liked the perch. So much that he didn't let me try it. Lol but it looked good! The fried okra was solid. Kinda hard to mess that up, so no complaints there. Same thing with the fish tacos as the lobster roll. They're very busy. I like tasting my food - not piling the toppings on so things get lost. So, I scraped pretty much everything off. The fish was good! I got my mom the fried oysters. No complaints. Her meal came with two sides, so I got greens and Mac and cheese. I didnt try the Mac, but they said the greens were top tier. They had a nice flavor, but they're spicy - so avoid them if you can't deal with a lot of spice - probably red pepper. They threw in a crab cake for free and I thought that was really sweet of them. I didn't like the way it looked on the inside, so I only nibbled at it. Definitely not what this Maryland girl is used to... the winner is still Commisson Row on crab cakes in Indy so far. Anyway! Cute little tucked away spot, small parking lot, but spacious inside. Quite a few tables and chairs and fresh seafood in the cases. I'd go again and try some different things based on other reviews.

My husband thought this West side location would be nicer and less of a cheap atmosphere. We were welcomed right away and taken to a booth in the bar. It was private and the table was large. We had two large lobster tails. Snow crab with huge meaty legs. About 2 dozen shrimp, mussels and potatoes as well as corn on the cob. All was delicious. We were pleased with our meal and enjoyed all the juicy sauce associated with it I would give this restaurant 5 stars but the building and decoration, etc are dated and the atmosphere is that of a cheap restaurant. Main dining space has a combination of booths and tables of larger and smaller sizes. There is a fish tank behind the bar and maybe in the main room as well. Our table was between the bar and a small booth as well as near the entrance to the kitchen & bathrooms, so there was a decent bit of traffic through our congested area. Our server, Darrell, was AWESOME. He was personable, professional, and knowledgeable of the restaurant's history and menu. I used the information he shared to guide my order and was grateful for doing so. Wife ordered the special shrimp bowl ($21), which was packed with flavor. I chose the Ono ($32), which was a firm, meaty fish with a parmesan crust and chose the clam chowder and sweet potato fries for my sides. I really enjoyed the fish, which was huge and I brought half of it home. The chowder was excellent and the fries were crispy (uncommon for sweet potato fries) but not overdone. All of our food arrived promptly. They also provided a fresh loaf of sourdough bread to go with our meals, which was tasty. Would return based on service and flavor. Would probably prefer a booth to not be constantly walked around. Price point will probably prohibit our ability to return with any frequency.

I will say that I've eaten here at least 3 times before and it's always been top notch. I will be back again. But I did not think it was spectacular last night. My table started by ordering several appetizers and salads. I split the beet salad with my friend. That was a mistake. This is hands down the best beet salad I've ever had. It is delicious. My friend doesn't like beets and loved the salad. It's not very big. I don't recommend splitting it. I'm not a fan of the shrimp corn dog but everyone else loved them. A friend ordered them for the table. Someone ordered the prime rib dumplings and said they were ok. They looked good but I didn't try one. They really enjoyed the bacon wrapped apricots. Another person liked the pesto goat cheese Mac n cheese. The deviled eggs were wasabi this time. The preparation is always different. The table didn't love this preparation as much as others in the past. I thought they were good. I had the Stanley meatloaf. I'm not a fan of the very large broccoli they plate. The meatloaf was very dense. I won't order it again. But I will note that it typically gets rave reviews. It's just not for me. My friend who got the beef short ribs wasn't excited about them. I had those last visit and they were excellent. I was hearing a lot of "ok" when people were asked how their entrees were. But everyone cleaned their plates, except me. I barely ate my meal and the server did ask if there was anything wrong. There wasn't anything wrong with the meal. I just didn't care for it. I boxed it up and brought it home. I will say that everyone really enjoyed the cocktails, appetizers and salads. Our entrees were fine but no one raved about theirs. We always eat at fine dining establishments when we go out. We loved Freeland's see my review for them. So we had high expectations here and left having had a good time together but the food kind of missed the mark. My bill came to $104 for two cocktails, a beet salad and meatloaf, incl 25% tip. I think when I go back I'll definitely get the beet salad again and stick to appetizers rather than an entree. My friends also ordered several desserts. They really liked all of them. The service was very good and the waitress handled our large party very well. It took a long time to get the food. There was a lot of time between our appetizers and the entrees. I think the kitchen was slammed. We were there for 3 hours. There is a 20% tip for tables of our size, but it was not automatically charged. There is no question Oakleys is a great place for fine dining. I recommend going there. It just didn't excite me last night.

Won't lie, the only thing I wanted for was some hot sauce. That's a me problem... just gotta have hot sauce when I eat fried fish but I didn't ask for any while I was there (they may offer it) and still very much enjoyed the sandwich. - Filet: it was great... hubby got it medium and it arrived perfectly cooked. The Demi glaze sauce was so good and so were the sides. Their collard greens are seasoned up! I said does my auntie work here?! This cuisine is so comfortingly southern and didn't disappoint. Shoutout to our friendly and helpful server, Dan... our food and drinks came out quickly and so did our to-go box. His service was truly top notch. We have been living in Carmel for 5 years and this is one of the best restaurants here. If you're on the fence about trying this place, jump off and make a reservation. You won't regret it.

I've had Juniper on Main saved in my collections for a while and this past weekend (Memorial…read moreDay/Race weekend) we decided to give them a try while attempting to avoid the crowds that were sure to be present in others parts of the city. This place is small...much smaller than I had imagined. In my opinion, there isn't really a good seat in the house, literally, because the restaurant is a converted home in a residential setting. Each and every table is either by the front door, near the kitchen, or restroom-adjacent. It also seemed like they were having some plumbing issues or something, because one area was blocked off making the seating situation even more limited. It was nice out, so we probably should've dined on the patio. Our server never introduced himself by name, so I didn't learn that tidbit of info until we got the bill. We ordered the deviled eggs flight, which he told us that he couldn't tell us about because "it's different every time". He did check for any allergens, which was thoughtful. The deviled eggs themselves were very much a blank canvas and the toppings were the entire show. Server asked if we wanted to play egg roulette or if we wanted him to tell us what they were. We wanted to know, so he pointed to each...extremely close, and I was so distracted by his finger hovering so dangerously close to my food that all I heard was "chimichuri". I have no clue what the others were. Oh, I think one was chili crisp! I also had the crab cake and loved the aioli that it was served with. My husband had the BLT, which comes with an egg on it and is served on Texas Toast. He's not a fan of Texas Toast, but he enjoyed the sandwich. If I were rating this on food alone, it would be 4 stars, but the cramped atmosphere and level of service brings it down to a 3 for me.
