oceana market was an absolute pleasure to shop at. it was the best market we've been to and that was after living in SF for 11 years. we then moved to Pacifica and found this gem. we've since moved away, and just miss this place. the best thing was, everyone in Pacifica has been brain washed to shop at Safeway, so this was awesome for no lines and open isles of endless selections that were unmatched. their inventory was exceptional. from daily staples to boutique. we now live in san Jose and had a laugh at the upscale local market here. we miss you oceana! read more

Oceana Market is nothing like Oceana High School. Oceana high school is a very progressive school that educates its students racial sensitivity. Meanwhile someone needs to go to Oceana Market and educate them on racial sensitivity. After school, my friends and I proceeded to enter Oceana Market. We were immediately cut off and asked to leave our bags outside, while a middle aged white man with a large duffle bag was not cut off and asked to leave it outside. We were clearly racially profiled. I would expect more from a 4 star establishment on yelp. read more

very solid market. prices are slightly higher than safeway, but a much better selection, better looking produce, cleaner, faster, and more parking. only thing i didnt like was it was very cold inside the store... wellsfargo inside the store is a bonus as well. read more

Very clean store. And they have lots of sweet things like cakes and cupcakes. The fruit look really good. But it's so expensive! Like too expensive. I went in to find a snack and all the high prices really made it hard to decide what to get. I don't know if I would go back. read more

The deli is excellent, as is the cheese selection and their specialty items. The hot food kiosks have resulted in an increase in quantity while vastly reducing the quality of their hot offerings. The convenience isn't worth the increased cost. Please look into your freezer case issues. I've bought several items that wound up being freezer burnt in the past month and now I see obvious ice crystals if not full blocks of ice on products in several freezers. read more

I love this place, it seems to be well run, has good quality and variety of various organic produce and goods, nice butchers area, helpful staff,easy to negotiate if you use a wheelchair, easy and plentiful parking, usually not the crowded nightmare of Safeway- and no moldy onions like I frequently have found in Linda Mar Safeway!! I prefer to shop here when I can. As it leans more towards organic goods, some can be a bit more costly but you won't find these items elsewhere so easily in Pacifica. read more

This place rocks, and I've seen it evolve over the last several years from Foodtown to what it is today. I am proud this is my local market. I used to go out of town for most of my groceries, as I'm no fan of Safeway or Lucky's. I like organic, fresh, local and healthy food. They have made so many improvements and listen to their customers, have a great staff, and yes, they're a little pricey but so is Whole Foods. They're more unique. I love coming here, especially for their hot food bar--freshly made food that changes every day--and their deli is amazing. The produce section also has some of the best fruit (organic or not) that I've found in Pacifica. The wine selection is good if you want to try something you won't find in Safeway or Bevmo and an excellent cheese section to go with your wine choice ;-) So much I love about this store, but mostly because it has this family vibe about the place and the workers. Wasn't overly impressed with the sandwich bar at the cafe...they were outta stock on pretty much everything, they didn't build the sandwich as described, and they were slow to boot. Def not Wildplatter Cafe. Holla. As for the rest of the store? It's a grocery store with food items for purchase. It has a pretty good liquor section, beer and wine and some hard stuff. They also have some organic options in the produce section, so that's a bonus. Didn't look too closely about quality and prices, though. As for sandwiches, you will be better off looking around town for a sandwich shop than stopping here. read more

Convenient but very expensive. The meat department is worth going for but the deli is sub par with rude service by some. The sandwiches are nothing like Lunardi's up the hill and are pricey for what you get. All the cashiers and the manager of the store Miguel are the model of professionalism. read more

I love Oceana Market's selection of healthy and organic foods- they carry such an exciting variety that I can't find in most grocery stores. I always buy their granolas and hot cereals, fresh-squeezed juices, organic yogurts, and frozen vegetarian dinners. When I had to cook dinner for a dinner party recently I went straight to Oceana Market and found some delicious cheeses, crackers, tapenade, steaks and fresh veggies. Some items can be a bit pricey, but always high quality, and I am willing to pay more to support my local market. read more

I was crushed and devastated when the Fresh & Easy recently closed in the Pedro Point shopping center (mainly because it was super convenient for me). However, one upside of the F&E closure is that it has forced me to find alternative grocery shopping options, and I absolutely LOVE the Oceana Market. Their selections (deli, wine, groceries, health food + other "hippy" stuff) are great, and reasonably priced for what they are. It's kind of like if Molly Stones and Whole Foods had a love child. Plus, they have amazing housewares and toys/gifts departments. This is my kids' favorite place to shop, as I can let them hang out in the toy section while I shop. The staff are mostly super helpful (and they have hired on a couple of the former Fresh & Easy employees). In particular, I want to give a should out to one super sweet lady that works the checkout there (I forgot her name). She went above and beyond to be helpful and extra kind to my daughter with Autism. When I explained that she was bummed that she didn't have enough allowance money to buy anything in the toy section, "nice checkout lady", led my daughter to the bulk food section, and helped select $1 worth of jelly beans. Her help really made my daughter's day and that is priceless. :) read more

I completely fell for this adorable market. I must have spent at least 15 minutes in the bakery, 20 in the deli/meat market section and slowly went up each aisle to check out everything they had. They actually sell Gorilla BBQ rub. I went in looking for a dessert for a my boyfriend's birthday on my way home from an errand. I had a hard time choosing since there were so many good things there. I ended up buying ingredients for a whole dinner. The dessert ended up being an array of different things from all over the store: fresh chocolate covered cream puffs with Haagen Daz Banana Foster's Ice Cream (I've never seen this flavor at any other store) with fresh strawberries (produce section), topped with real whipped cream. I also got a swedish pancake mix that is so yummy that I think I'll never make regular pancakes again. This market had a Peet's Coffee Shop inside, very nice employees that were extremely helpful, an excellent deli/butcher section (with Boars Head meats) with knowledgeable help, healthy food for all types of dietary needs, lots of cakes, cookies, pies to choose from in the bakery section, and just a real cool feel overall. No long lines. I look forward to going back again. read more

Visiting my friend who lives near the Oceana Mkt., we decided to make Ramos Fizzes one recent morning! Splendid idea, however where will we find all the ingredients in this small beach community. "Never you fear", said my optimistic friend....& that's when I was introduced to this GEM of a market. We were able to locate everything we wanted & then some....difficult to locate & crucial to a great Fizz is...ORANGE FLOWER WATER, & there it was. OMG this place is wonderful. A full butcher shop. Organic produce. We even got some handmade tortillas made locally. This place is the real deal!!! read more

I agree with the previous positive post with one BIG exception: the produce section sucks. This is where parsley goes to die. I drive 5 miles to the Lunardi's on Skyline for produce, that's how bad OM's produce section is. The meat department, if you can talk to Robby or the manager, is first class. read more

There's quite a bit of space on yelp devoted to Cuban sandwiches, and my husband growing up in Tampa, well, he's picky. The Cubano here is superior to the ones he brings home from Florida! A real Cuban is ham, roast pork, swiss cheese, pickle and mustard. If you're lucky, it's also pressed like a panini. Well, that's exactly what we got, but the meats were superior - thinly sliced and very tender, and it was just perfect! I can also add that almost all the dishes in the deli case are made in house by a talented chef. If you make a little trip to Pacifica, or you're lucky enough to live here, don't miss out on Oceana Market (formerly known as Foodtown). Yummy! read more

I just tried to return a rug which they incorrectly marked at $6.99, but charged me $24.99. Instead of apologizing and giving me the cash back for their error, the girl who runs the gift department gave me a gift certificate for the $24.99. The rule of thumb in the retail business is to either give the consumer the rug for the price they incorrectly marked on price ticket or give cash back; NOT give them a gift certificate for the $24.99. This is a bummer as we shop here daily, but now will have to go elsewhere for groceries and gifts. read more

I really love to come here for fresh veggies. I'm a colorful salad type of gal. There produce is fresh and not wilted like Safeway. The prices range the same or a little more then Safeway but for the quality of produce you get your monies worth. They have a great selection of alcohol. And all different types of wines (and great specials & tastings). Plus there meat department is the best. Can be pricey but you only deserve the best quality. Try it and find yourself indulging every so often a little more. read more

I love oceana market and always get snacks and lunch there. the workers are very friendly. the past few times I have gone though, the cold drinks weren't cold... also, there is one guy in the deli department that has made my bagel wrong a couple times. multiple times my friend and I have ordered a bagel, toasted with butter, avocado and tomato. When I went to eat it, there were litterally slices of butter on the bagel. GROSS. You would have thought that he would spread the butter like a normal person would. now we have to ask him to spread the butter each time. He did the same thing with cream cheese for my friend. anyway, the rest of their food is good, especially their hot food, even though it is a bit on the expensive food.
