Delicious food and incredible ambience laid back, I came in on a Friday night and the live music is fantastic!! This spot is perfect for a girls night out or a cute date. The decor is adorable and also features some shops at the front. Loved every second of my visit. I ordered the enchiladas de mole, the kitchen was kind and was able to customize them to veggie only and they hit the spot. I loved the presentation of all the plates but the drinks took the night away! You already know I don't drink drink but I'll have A drink and ocho knocked it out of the park with taste, strength and presentation. See photos and plan out your next date night here. The churros are to die for. They are stuffed and I just so so good. OMG I DIDNT SNAP THE ENCHILADAS picture!! That's how good the ONE drink is don't worry, I have a designated driver friends, drink responsibly

Ocho Latin Cuisine is a great place to brunch on the weekend. When we arrived we were greeted promptly by the staff. The Pozole is good, with tender pork and hominy. The Huevos rancheros has Two eggs on top of two tostadas with a flavorful spicy red sauce. The Cafe de Olla gives one a break from regular coffee. The Chilaquiles Verdes are good, with a salsa verde and you have a choice of egg style. The service was wonderful and attentive and a great place to enjoy breakfast. Recommend for brunch while in Oak Cliff.

Home away from Home and more... Gonzales Retaurant is a revamped Mexican restaurant hidden with inside a boutique with beautiful artwork and flavorful food. Music is popping and the servers are friendly, shout out to Faviola for making this LA based latino feel at home.

Paid $14 for this awful "queso" that was just melted shredded cheese in a pile of grease that hardened as it cooled. Quesadilla was also terrible since it was tasteless and made with soft cheese that wasn't even melted all the way through. I've made better ones in the microwave. Our friend also ordered the Chile relleno which was just a soggy pepper used a bowl for cheese and shrimp goop. This was hands down the worst overpriced restaurant food I have ever eaten. Only bright side to eating here was the friendly waitress.

Came here for brunch and wow!! First off - the vibes are super chill and there's a lot of art / murals so it makes for a good pic backdrop Drinks: they have $6 mimosas - really good pricing for the drinks / cocktails. Drinks are strong too Food: we got the lobster quesadilla, soup, mole and huevos rancheros. You need to get the lobster quesadillas! Seriously all the food was so good. You can't go wrong with any of the entrees. The desserts was icing on the cake haha. Churros were crips on the outside but tender on the side. I'll be back

Food is not desirable. I eat Latin food but this was subpar. The server was okay but I don't speak or understand a lot Spanish so asking for what I needed was very difficult. I expect a little language barrier but this was over the top. The space is nice even a little shop got items in the front. It makes it very cultural. Please add stoppers to bottom of table so it will not move.

Long wait time but food was great. My friends and I got full off of just appetizers. Good prices (~$13-20) and parking can be tough. Service was good! Cute photo opps.

Low lighting, beautiful glassware, just an all around vibe. They were pretty slow but it was also a Wednesday night. Drinks were amazing and they had a lot of options. I got the Guava Sunset and it was so refreshing (pictured). We also got the ceviche which tasted very fresh and was a good portion for an appetizer. The filet was perfectly cooked and the chimichurri sauce was to die for. I forgot to take a picture of it because we dug in as soon as it landed on the table. Service felt very personable which I enjoyed. They also gave my date a rose at the end of our meal to give to me which I thought was a nice touch. Overall, great first impression and we will definitely be back! Or I may even bring the girlies for a girls night! Side note.. I'm not sure why reviews are so negative, as new restaurants deserve grace while they figure out what works for them and I think we all need to have a little patience and understanding.

Upon arriving the day of, we were sat immediately. But the remainder of service was pretty slow especially considering they were operating on a pre-fix menu only. Out sever checked in 4x to ask us how our experience was as we were waiting for our appetizer, the queso frito, which is just fried cheese and and guava paste. Unfortunately the steaks didn't come out hot, and I'd say they were barely room temperature. Both our table and the tables next to us had our steaks come out overcooked which was disappointing as well. The ambiance was nice, they had rose pedals on all the tables and a live band playing that was taking request for songs. All in all it was a good experience, but definitely not worth almost $350. Not sure if their regular menu is as pricey, but I would be hesitant to dine here again if it is.

Saturday brunch and this place wasn't packed...umm why?!…read more Friendly and fast service was maintained throughout the experience. The interior is an upscale cantina with fun decoration. There's front seating outdoors as well for folks who like that good old Texas weather. For my food sensitive folks, heads up, the salmon benedict was eggs benedict with lox. I was expecting a salmon fillet at first so it took a moment to adjust. Food anxiety and flavor preference is a real thing that can ruin a meal, might wanna update the menue to delineate dishes with strong flavors. I was expecting salmon fillet and the smoked saltiness of lox was unexpected. Regardless, the salad and potatoes were delectable. Definitely a brunch spot I'll visit again.

As soon as we were seated, we were given water immediately. But then it took a while for our server to come to the table. We were both hungry--probably on the verge of hangry--so we were about to leave. Just as we were deciding, the server showed up--thank goodness! We ordered drinks and the beef empanadas. They came out pretty quickly and were delicious. I'm a big fan of empanadas, and these did not disappoint. The pastry was crusty, flaky, and golden brown, and the beef was seasoned really well. I really liked the chimichurri sauce--very mild and flavorful. We thought the drinks were going to be just okay--an old fashioned with coconut--but we were wrong! They were not weak at all, and there was just a hint of coconut. The plan was to have two each, but one did the trick. For the mains, the man had the skirt steak with a baked potato, and I had the shrimp enchiladas with esquites. Both meals were delicious, but the skirt steak was extra yum (probably because it belonged to the man--his food always tastes better ). The enchiladas had a lot of shrimp. Just a little less sauce would have been perfect, but I'd still order them again and just ask them to go easy on the sauce. The esquites were super yummy--definitely ordering that again. We spent about $145 with tip. The server ended up being on the slower side all night, but we laughed it off and said it was like island time. We'll definitely keep this place in the rotation.

We had seen the place on Yelp and planned to grab something quick to go, but it turned into a great stop. The location is fantastic and convenient near the airport. The hostess was welcoming right away and directed us to the bar so we could place a quick to-go order. At the bar, the bartender gave excellent service and convinced us to try a couple of tacos along with the yuca fries and plantains we originally planned to order--and I'm glad he did. The Tacos Al Carbón were outstanding: grilled fajita beef with sautéed poblano and onion on flour tortillas topped with pico de gallo and guacamole. The steak was tender and full of flavor. The beans and rice were just right, and the plantains with coconut sauce were a perfect addition. The bartender also recommended a Stone Delicious IPA, which made the short wait enjoyable. We grabbed a Tamarindo agua fresca and bolitas de yuca for the road--light, flavorful, and perfect for the drive. Great food, great service, and a great find near the airport.
