Really cute café with all the cozy fall vibes! I went on a Sunday afternoon and it was actually pretty crowded, so just something to keep in mind if you go on the weekend. I tried the "IT" drink (strawberry lemonade with strawberry popping boba) and "Cuddle Weather" (hot chocolate with hazelnut + caramel) both were fun and perfect for the fall theme. The Pesto Panini and Avocado Toast were solid too, nicely made and fresh. The staff was super nice and helpful even with how busy it was, and everything in there is decorated so cute definitely a great spot if you're into fall-themed drinks and cozy cafés.

This is he first time I've been to a coffee shop and the actual coffee used for the drinks ruined the coffee for me. First off, it's a really cute spot - the decor is eclectic, and the seating is ample. The baristas are friendly and welcoming. I visited based on their offering of coffee flights, and I liked that they change their flights based on the season. I ordered the Valentine's Flight for I believe around $17 - to me, it was not worth that. The coffee used was very watery; it reminded me of what hotels offer for free within the rooms. The flavors of each drink was nice and unique, but it still didn't mask the watery coffee. I wish the coffeehouse well, but this was the most disappointing coffee flight I've ever had.

Super cute and very inviting space. Lots of seating and prices are reasonable. Loved the latte flights! Will be back for sure.

Very cute coffee shop owned by two lovely women who are LGBTQIA accepting ! This cute coffee shop is a fun October themed cafe with great drink options. I got a traditional iced coffee and loved it! My only small note is some of the chairs are not very comfy, but there is a good amount of seating! Parking is street parking and this is also right by the Metra stop so it's very easy to walk to.

What a beautiful coffee shop! Fall vibes all year round which I am here for. Plenty of seating, fast wifi, and great music. The coffee itself was fantastic. The October Cafe PSL is vegan! Plenty of vegan treats such as donuts and cinnamon rolls.

A fall themed cafe in Norwood park. There's pumpkins and Halloween ish decor everywhere. I appreciate the variety of syrups they offer. They had more sugar free syrups than the usual vanilla or hazelnut that you find in cafes. I had the iced matcha latte with sugar free mango syrup and an oat cold foam. The pricing on the receipt does not make sense and honestly I'm not sure I was charged correctly. The drink was rather expensive after adding the syrup and oat foam. The foam is not worth it at all. It just melted into the rest of the drink so it didnt feel like anything different. The sugar free mango syrup was tasty and made the drink a nice summery treat. Don't waste your money on the oat milk foam!

I love this place!! Great vibes and the staff is SO friendly and helpful. Food is good and the coffee is good too, although I've had better luck with their actual drinks rather than the flights. It's hard to get good flavor in such a small drink, but the presentation of the flights are so cute. They also do a ton of different events each month. I do wish this place had more/better seating options and sometimes the service can be slow on the weekends/when it's busy. Overall this place is exactly what a local neighborhood coffee shop should be. Good food and drinks, friendly atmosphere and many opportunities to connect with the community. This is quickly becoming my regular spot :) Also idk who does the playlists in here but they ROCK thank you

This is such a cute cafe!! Exactly what you'd expect with the decor based on the name, it's so dreamy in here. I got the avocado Toast and a mango smoothie and it was very reasonably priced. It wasn't out of this world but it was exactly what I wanted!

Not only does October Cafe have the best patty melt I've ever eaten (it's vegetarian, and I'm not even vegetarian, so that's syaing something!), they are the KINDEST people who truly went out of their way to make our day special. They conspired with me to help make "the luckiest day ever" for my girlfriend before I proposed to her, by pretending that someone "paid it forward" to cover our food, and they even comp'd us free popcorn on top of it. The food is delicious, the latte was amazing, the location is picturesque. (Also, oh my God, the TATER TOTS. Don't skip the tater tots. They're so perfectly crunchy.) I couldn't be more grateful and we can't wait to come back again and again. THANK YOU!

This cafe is Latinx, LGBTQ owned and the atmosphere from employees and other customers feels very accepting. Every customer is greeted at the door with a genuinely enthusiastic "Hello Pumpkin!" The menu is on the wall but also a print menus are available. We came on a Sunday midday and the place was bustling but we had no trouble getting a table and ordering at the counter. When we picked out some sweets from the counter, the employee offered to heat them for us and set them on plates with a little side of fruit. I almost never have sweet drinks, preferring my coffee black. But decided to try the St. Patrick's day sampler as a splurge. When the drinks came, they rang a bell to celebrate the order and brought it on a platter decked out with shamrocks and gold. The green tea and lemonade was refreshing. The lattes could come with any percentage fat of cow milk, or plant milk: almond, coconut, or oat milk. I ordered it with oat. The whipped topping is non dairy and optional. I loved the pistachio latte and the caramel one. The hot chocolate had mint in it and was satisfyingly creamy. The vegan GF brownie and the vegan GF blueberry cookie were amazing. The brownie is the soft gooey not cakey kind. The bagel tasted soft and fresh. I suspect the vegan egg is what I've had as a frozen pea-protein egg - quite good. Overall, everything about this place is outstanding. Seating is simple which befits a cafe. There are slots of decorations for the fall theme but also decked out for St. Patrick's day. Can't believe it took us this long to go - we'll definitely be back.

You know that feeling where you walk into a place and it feels like family? That's October Cafe. It's such a feel good space. The flights are my favorite. So creative, beautiful and fun. The perfect coffee date spot. The recent Christmas ones were delicious!!!! I'm obsessed with the chocolate chip mocha. The owners are the sweetest people, and I think that little touch of being called pumpkin and then announcing a flight has been ordered with bells ringing is just so precious. Can you tell how much I love October cafe yet? I'll be back! Can't wait for their newest flight creation!

Ambiance is cozy, intimate, relaxing. The girls greet you with "hello, pumpkin" :-) It looks tiny but I actually counted at least 16 or 19. Not counting the seats outside or the ones by the window ledge. Every so often I need to detox from Starbucks, or from Dutch Bros, and I long for hometown small coffee shops. Where sipping a cup is the definition of romance. read more

I tried their pumpkin cake and the Maple Forest latte (I love cardamom) - very sweet and very well-flavored. SO COZY!! As someone who loves Fall, this autumn hole-in-the-wall feels like home! The owners are dedicated workers and everyone is attentive to customers. I visited for a friend's live performance at the cafe, and the sound filled the space very nicely. Highly recommend if you love Fall and cozy vibes! read more

After seeing this place on WGN and hearing about it from a friend, I couldn't wait to check it out. As others have mentioned, it's a cute spot, strategically located in front of the Metra station, and definitely decorated with Fall and Halloween in mind. The plethora of desserts looked amazing but I decided to go with an egg and cream cheese breakfast sandwich on panini bread with decaf iced pumpkin chai. The breakfast sandwich was beyond disappointing. The half sandwich was meagerly filled and I'm not sure if the "cream cheese" was vegan, but it had the taste and consistency of thin Miracle Whip - not to my liking. The side to my sandwich was watermelon. Although sweet and delicious, the tiny portion of shavings was also disappointing. As far as the drink goes, the iced tea was fine and brewed appropriately. In contrast to my experience, my friend had the ramen and loved it, so maybe it's all about what you order? I don't want to give up on this place since it's really a cute place and I love supporting local businesses. There were also no issues with customer service, so I'll most likely give it another try. read more

Service is extremely slow. There were 4 in my party and instead of bringing all 4 entrees at the same time, it was one at a time with intervals of like 15 min. I get that it's a little trendy place but not worth the money I paid. My bill was almost $100 with tip and we all had sandwiches with fries. My basil panini was awful. If you go there, make sure you're ready to wait for your own table and then a long wait for the food. read more

My wife mentioned October Cafe to me a few weeks ago, and suggested we stop in for a visit sometime. We were both in the mood for some coffee after making a Target run, so we decided to stop in for the first time. In short, we were both very happy with our visit. The decor is very cozy, and is themed so as to evoke the feeling of being in Fall all year 'round. There is a good amount of seating available indoors, along with some seating outside, as well. We were there around 4 PM on a Saturday afternoon, so it was not crowded, either. The staff was also quite friendly, welcoming, and helpful with any questions that we had. My wife had an iced hazelnut latte, while i went with an iced pistachio latte, and we both thoroughly enjoyed our drinks. The flavors were subtle rather than overwhelming, which was a good thing, as this allowed the taste of the coffee itself to be the real star of the show. While we didn't try any this time around, they also have available a selection of food and dessert options. Sandwiches, muffins, cookies, cupcakes, and candies, for example, some of which are vegan. They also have jars of pumpkin butter that i'm eagerly looking forward to giving a try. If you're in the neighborhood, definitely do yourself a favor and stop in for a drink and something to eat. I don't often find myself in the far northwest coroner of Chicago. However, I'm where I was about two weeks ago. I was in the western part of Jefferson park in the morning on a Saturday, and I wanted some coffee. I didn't want Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts. I search for a coffee shop and I found October Cafe. I heard good things about it, so I decided to take the short drive to Norwood Park. I'm so glad that I did. It's not just a great independent coffee shop for Norwood Park, it's just a great independent coffee shop, period. I was greeted by the smiling cashier with a "hello pumpkin." I felt that was so fun and inviting. I ordered a Pot of Gold, a seasonal St. Patrick's Day drink, and a bagel with creamy cheese. The drink was a lot of fun and just the right amount of sweet. The bagel wasn't that good; it was just bread in the shape of a bagel, but at least it was filling. I loved the atmosphere, and I hung out for about an hour just playing on my phone. The atmosphere is hippy cafe meets pumpkin spice and everything you love about fall. I loved it so much that I took my wife back there the very next day. On my second visit, I ordered a hot chocolate. In sum, this is a must visit, especially if you are into all things fall and pumpkin, and worth the trek to Norwood Park. read more

Will def return but pretty expensive. 10$ for a black coffee and cookie. Parking can be tricky. Side streets are typically open. Some spots are paid only. They have tea flights with great names so I need to try one next time. read more

I took my food and drink to go only because I didn't have time to stay in this adorable cozy little cafe. They had a delicious vegan panini option that I ordered which was out of this world. Fresh basil, pesto, tomatoes, and Follow Your Heart cheese! Definitely order this if you like those flavors. My drink I didn't photograph because it had a lid on it, but it was delicious too. I ordered an oatmilk based version of the Maple Forest, and I customized it with just one pump maple because I don't like super sweet drinks. I also asked for it to be extra hot and it came out perfect, I can't wait to go back and try other drinks, and hopefully a flight when I can stay to enjoy it there. We visited October Cafe on a very busy Saturday morning, but received our food and drinks quickly. It's easy to see why this cafe has gotten so popular! Definitely has a "neighborhood" feel so much of the food + coffee is sourced from local businesses around Chicago. The fall theme is super fun and they had a lot of upcoming events. Love getting to support a Latina and female owned local business and seeing it thrive. We tried the avocado toast, cookies from Defloured bakery, and the Cozy VP Chai Tea Latte (hot and iced). Everything was super flavorful, came out quickly (despite the cafe being packed) and we loved their huge tea selection. We'll definitely be back to try the flights! read more

While this place is super cute, I was a little disappointed by the drinks! The Cozy VP Chai Latte has honeybush pumpkin chai, however there wasn't much of a pumpkin flavor and the chai was not a strong flavor either. "Good morning, pumpkin!" That's the greeting you'll get when you enter this cozy and welcoming cafe across the Metra Station. Friendly staff and a cozy ambiance are not the only draws to this place. The drinks and food will make go back again! They have coffee, tea, and non-coffee drinks. I recommend you try a drink flight (four drinks) if you are new customers so you can sample their offerings. More pluses: gluten free pastries, and savory items like the pesto panini, grilled cheese for kids, and avocado toast. Coming here is like a nice rest for your mind and soul. We arrived at this cute cafe on a beautiful fall day. The moment we walked in we were immediately greeted by calls of "hi, pumpkin." , which I thought was too cute. I had a pumpkin spice latte with an oatmeal pie with just the right amount of sweetness. In the middle of the fall themed atmosphere were families and friends having coffee and treats that added to the cozy ambience of the cafe. read more

The oat milk latte was enjoyable, the matcha latte was just okay. The staff was very welcoming (the owner and a new cashier). The prices were very reasonable. I really liked the outdoor patio, it is on a quieter street which seems hard to find these days when it comes to cafes with outdoor seating. If I were in the area I would totally visit again. read more

This new neighborhood coffee location is a real fun find! We wanted to try all the specialty coffee so we ordered the flight in both hot and cold. My personal preference was the hot flight. The coffee flight is super cute and comes with a pumpkin candy corn! The pumpkin theme throughout the shop makes it a perfect fall destination. They even call you pumpkins when you come in the shop. Music is a tad loud for a coffee shop, but overall a super fun time. read more

First time visit was overall successful. Elements we loved, great vegan options, iced decaf options (often not an option at small coffee shops), reasonable prices especially if compared to a chain coffee establishment and much rather give to a small business owner. The other big highlight was the friendly and amazing staff! A few items that could use some adjustments; understanding the cutesy fall vibe, one "welcome pumpkin" would be enough, it was slightly overdone with the welcome, dropping of food to the table, clearing the table and even upon reordering for to go items. Lastly the food, although good options could use some editing, ordered the breakfast sandwich on panini bread and although it was filling you receive half a sandwich on "panini" bread but it was just toasted white bread and the sausage sitting awkwardly because the bread was large in comparison. Would be nice to know it was half, as an example my cousin ordered it in a bagel and received a full sandwich. Will definitely be back for the iced decaf caramel latte! Stopped by for a spooky breakfast before our charity walk in the neighborhood. Not only did we have to wait over 45 minutes for a simple panini and avocado toast, when it did finally arrive we were given a half assed "sorry about the wait". Meanwhile people who ordered after us received their food within minutes. $41 for two small coffees and some soggy "toasted" bread is insane. I'd assume with those prices they could afford a decent carpenter to fix the place and make it look worth the price. But no. This was actually my third time visiting. Once when they had first opened oh so long ago, even with how tiny the place was back then it had sustenance. It was a growing small business. Second time while they were remodeling and the back area wasn't whole yet. It's disappointing to see the state it's in now. Drywalls damn near falling off, baseboards more beat up than Tom & Terrys, and the lack of ventilation for such a small place truly made this the worst experience. You can just tell that the place is nailed together simply to be a store front to charge people and make money. Nothing about the place is unique or worth the visit. Oh and the cherry on the top.... We missed our charity walk. read more

I was so excited to have a local coffee shop! I live fall but have never liked fall drinks. I tried the fall drink flight and it is just me. Not a fall drink person so I ordered a cappuccino and it was glorious! Delicious and fun relaxing atmosphere. The will definitely get sick of me it the perfect place to crack a laptop open and get some work done when working from home needs a change of scenery. read more

Expanded seating now, including outdoors. Awesome and unique tea/drink menu. It's nice to have some vegetarian and vegan options for food in the area. Charming atmosphere and friendly staff. Worth coming regardless of the season for sure. read more

So glad this place is in the neighborhood. There have been a lot of different businesses in this spot and I think these guys have done the best at maximizing the space, they have a unique and creative idea (Who doesn't love a coffee shop in the fall?!?) and the staff is always so nice. They also have a really creative and fun menu. I really hope they continue to have success! read more

Stopped by here last week. I love that this place is not so far away from me and the hours. Most coffee shops close early so I'm not able to go, so it was nice that I can either go before or after work (especially on weekends). I got the flight and they were all really good. My favorite one is Cuddle Weather. I will return for sure :) read more

Really wanted to love October Cafe but wasn't a huge fan! The syrup in the coffee tasted really artificial and just wasn't what we were expecting. The staff were super kind and the service was quick, but the coffee just didn't hit the mark. read more

Such a cute space with the most friendly and accommodating staff! I love supporting queer businesses, and when they're this good, it's an even better pleasure! I got a flight of coffee and their banana nut muffin and cinnamon roll: the coffee and food was both so lovely with lots of options for accommodating food allergies and intolerances. Sweet and it almost had this slight earthy note too... hard to explain but good. It even had that little design on top, like the ones they do on cappuccinos. Didn't expect that but it was cool. They also own that new daycare on Lawrence & Austin next to Taste of Philippines. I wouldn't let them indoctrinate and groom my kids with gender delusions or even watch a doll.
