OKC finally got a seafood shack for some tasty goodness. This place is small with a few tables and wall stools inside + a few covered outdoor tables. I came with a group of 7 and the staff was so incredibly nice. They made sure to get 2 tables together for us inside. Service was 5 stars and super friendly. A+ service. Food was 4.5 stars with the shrimp and grits, smothered fries and catfish. The only thing missing was more shrimp or bigger shrimp for the shrimp and grit meal. The only seafood item missing is oysters. I will have to try a Kool aid pickle next time. Prices are reasonable. Overall service and food rounds to a 4 since OKC is in need of a seafood shack and I can't do half ratings. read more

Went here for first time yesterday Feb 26,2020. Our only regret is that we didn't stop in sooner. My husband and I shared the fried catfish and shrimp and it was plenty for the both of us. The Cajun coleslaw was outstanding. A little sweet at first and then bam the heat, but not too much. Will definitely go back again. Great Seafood Spot right near my Mother's house for my Seafood Fix when I am missing Houston. They have very limited Hours in my opinion so call or check the internet before heading out. Food was great. I had a crawfish poboy and was not disappointed. They had a lot of things on their menu I really liked the looks of. I would like to try them all. One word of caution, however, is to expect to have a bit of restaurant aroma stick to you when you leave. They're frying lots of stuff here and the air is thick with good smells. Those good smells also seep into your clothes, however. I suggest going here on a casual day when you're not in business attire, you could come back to work smelling like a shrimp. Ok we went here because we heard the owners live in our neighborhood and thought we should support them. I'm not a seafood person so I didn't eat but my husband and boys did. They said this is by far the best seafood in the city. I tried the koolaid pickle and it's a mind trip, hard to explain but you should definitely try it. My guys have been back several times without me and always say how good it is. I know good seafood is hard to come by in OKC but now worries you now have your place. read more

Location on Britton with a drive thru! Bonus! Needed assistance as it was my first time. Followed recommendations of smothered fries & added on shrimp & catfish filet. Fries ordered 1/2 spicy. I grew up 30 miles North of New Orleans so a lil spice never hurt anyone. Perfect choice. Lots of seafood, very thin fries & smothered means smothered. Great flavor & enough for two hungry adults. The catfish was breaded perfectly & was freshly made. But beware...you won't want to share. Didn't need the tartar sauce. The shrimp were phenomenal. They must get their shrimp fresh & direct, because I have not tasted the like since my Deep South days. I've only had Off the Hook a handful of times, but each time I see them at Live on the Plaza or at H&8, my stomach rumbles for them. My fiance loves crawfish, so he always gets their crawfish and sweet potato fries. The crawfish has a really nice light batter on it, and it's so flavorful. The sweet potato fries has some spice (not spicy hot, spicy as in spices) and an herb-iness I really enjoy. Something I really love to is that it always feels like they give a ton of food, and it's well worth the price. I remember one time, my fiance got his food and was walking by the line for Off the Hook holding a container of the crawfish. One of my friends saw what he was holding and asked if he got it from there since he was standing in line for them as well. I think he started salivating on the spot. My only complaint is that it takes a while to get the food, but because they make everything fresh and on the spot, it's not much of a complaint. So if you see them in the area, definitely check them out. Great food, great service - What more can you ask for? read more

This is probably a 3.5 star review, but I can't quite get to 4. I encountered Off the Hook at a fundraiser involving several food trucks at OU. My group went with the fish and chips, as well as the loaded fries. I found the price (around $8 as I recall) to be more than reasonable given the portion size, quality of food, and flavor. Additionally, I know it was only a brief encounter, but I found both employees I spoke with to be very friendly. Even thought they cook your food to order, it doesn't take long. The piece of fish is large and seasoned well. The breading was a little difficult to pull apart in spots. It was crispy, but difficult to bite through. It's not something I've encountered before. But, the fish was flaky and moist; cooked very well. Really good fish underneath. The tartar sauce, as other Yelpers note, is legit. Some of the best, if not the best I've ever had. Clearly homemade, seasoned well and just the right consistency. This place could bottle that stuff and be a successful business. The loaded fries were incredible. This was surprising, because the fries served with the fish and chips needed to be fried longer. They lacked crispness and were too soggy in spots. But, the fries covered with a creamy and flavorful sauce, cheese, and crab. I thought it would be too much, but it wasn't. It was one of the best dishes we ate all evening, and it was an evening filled with food truck goodness. I would absolutely order these again, and will seek out Off the Hook to do so. Came in a 2:50. Out of Damn near everything "due to closing at 4" I drove over 30 mins away for this. Only to get sold "the last Mac and cheese" when I get my order. There's no more. On top of only receiving half my order. Then the promised to refund my Mac and cheese. She attempted to give me the cash but got side tracked and wanted to argue with me about the $3. Then realized she was wrong and pushed the cash and food at me. Waited over 30 mins for my order. And watched my order sit in the Togo container for 11 mins before being handed to me. Never again.the south location had much better customer service and all food in stock. Terrible service. First of all, what a cute (and apt) name. Get the fish and chips! I literally cannot remember having such good fish and chips. Not heavy or greasy, but very throughly breaded and crispy fried, served with perhaps the very best tartar sauce I've ever had. Trust me, ask for extra - you'll want it all. The fries are thick cut and only lightly fried - still very soft and potatoe-y. We also got an order of the chicken strips, which I didn't love as much. The chicken tenders would be perfectly flavorful on their own, but they put a sweet and sour type sauce all over the tenders. If you love that, I'm sure it's out of this world but I don't. But never fear. Even for a late night menu, they have plenty of options (3 last night), or you could ask for it on the side as I think I might next time. The women running the show were really nice and helped us figure out how much we should order. Wow!!! For a little spot just off the highway...that's some good eats!!! Lots of choices so decision was tough, but narrowed down to two and the lady behind the counter gave some spot on advice!!! The fries are so fresh and perfectly seasoned, smothered in a creamy and flavorful seafood mix, and topped with perfect swirls of Sriracha. Service is always so friendly and fast.
