Food: Yummmyy!!! I love a good bento box! Service/Ambiance: THE WAITRESS IS SO NICEE!! She always checked up on the guest and even helped little with packing up the to go neatly!!

    Empty at 7pm Monday.

The Chirashi Bowl I had was excellent, with three thick pieces each of salmon, tuna, yellowtail, and amberjack. There was also one shrimp, masago (fish eggs), and two pieces of tamago egg. There was seaweed and some sushi rice underneath. The fish was super fresh and with the portion, it really filled me up. The only reason for the missing star is the ambiance... it's really quiet in the restaurant, which can be nice at times, but also creepy if you're the only patron. There was no music or a tv playing and when other customers did come in to sit down, no one wanted to talk at a normal volume, because it was like a library in there. Don't get me wrong, the server was very nice and thankful, and she refilled my green tea right when I needed it. I would eat from here again, but maybe take it to go next time.

The service what fantastic and very relaxing and respectful. I had a great simple dish that was not over sweet which was very nice. Sushi rolls were large and made with quality ingredients. Dove into those before got pictures.

    California roll and Hawaiian roll

I really loved this cozy sushi spot! There was a wide variety of plates from sushi rolls to bento boxes - food for everyone to enjoy. The servers were also quick and polite. I ordered two rolls - the california roll and the Hawaiian roll. It came with a miso soup, which was rich in flavor. The California roll was delicious with creamy imitation crab and avocado, and the Hawaiian roll had a sweet and sour flavor from the unagi sauce and lemons on top. I was satisfied after eating these two rolls and the soup. Keep in mind that if you have a large appetite like I do, order a regular roll and at least another small roll. The Hawaiian roll got a little too sweet for me towards the end, so I would have preferred a little less sauce, but overall it was still very good. The only thing I want to add about this place is that there is not much parking! This plaza gets crazy busy during lunch hour, so plan accordingly to carpool or arrive early to reduce the parking anxiety.

They weren't joking with the "express" in the title. I got my food within 5 minutes of ordering. The ladies were awesome and attentive throughout. I would definitely come back

4.0 stars! This review is particularly for a to-go order. I came on a friday afternoon around 4:30 pm and the place was so dim! I thought they were closed. I was greeted right away and handed a menu. Their menu is extensive but their bento combinations are really affordable. No complaints on the food, but definitely not top tier fish. Overall okay for a mid-level sushi spot!

    Shrimp Tempura Roll

Ordered food for takeout. I got the 3 item bento and shrimp tempura roll. It was a little pricy for the 3 item bento, came out to about $24 dollars and they forgot to add my miso soup and salad. The tempura sauce also had a funny taste, so I didn't really get to enjoy the food as much as I wanted to. They however give decent amount of portion for the bento, but the beef teriyaki was a little over cooked and too chewy to eat. The shrimp tempura roll was not bad, but the roll did easily fall apart. I may try it out again and eat in the restaurant, as I know getting take out could be a hit or miss.

Honestly mediocre. This place certainly gets busy during lunch hours! I usually just come by for pick up, but I will occasionally dine-in here too. My go-to is the futomaki (vegetarian friendly)! It has shitake mushrooms, cucumber, tamago, pickled radish, and carrot. Very filling and healthy for a small lunch. I also recommend their lunch bento specials! Pretty good prices for the portions. I like the 2 Item Bento. This is personally a good portion for me. I love the quality of their salmon here, so I like to order the salmon nigiri. I have also tried the Chicken Katsu and the Saba (Grilled Mackeral) and they're both decent, but nothing crazy. I'm not a big fan of the miso soup here especially.

    3 Item Benton (uber eats)
    Annie K.

Ordered the 3 item bento $25 which i don't think is cheap. Ordered this on uber eats. Came timely for lunch with miso soup still warm. I ordered the teri grilled salmon, salmon sashimi, and maki tekka sushi. The sushis were reallyyy good. So fresh and well cut and rolled. The salmon i was expecting the teriyaki salmon but it was just plain. It was well cooked tho just plain. I enjoyed the salad, rice, and miso soup it came with. Overall enjoyed my meal and would order from here again.

Double Roll Hamachi Inside and Salmon Outside
    Kalkidan A.

I've been looking for a decent sushi place in north San Jose for a while now and I have finally found it. We got the Double Roll with hamachi on the inside and salmon on the outside, the Pink Lady Roll, and the Crunch Roll and they were all delicious. The fish tasted fresh and the rolls with sauces were well balanced. My only wish was that the Crunch Roll tempura flakes we're warmed up, it would have took the roll to the next place. I got take out so I can't speak to the service or the ambiance besides the fact my order was ready on time. All in all solid sushi place.

This place is located in a strip mall of 1st Street and Trimble in San Jose, conveniently located near the Homewood Suites San Jose Airport where I stay frequently. The food here is fresh, filling, and moderately priced. They have a wide selection on their menu. I usually get a Spider Roll and Crunchy Roll. Two rolls is plenty to fill most appetites and am pretty stuffed afterward. I have yet to try most of their other dishes. But it's hard to get away from my favorites when they do it so well. Very friendly service. It doesn't get very busy here but it's usually a decent wait if 12-15 minutes minimum. You know I'll be back.

One of my favorite places to stop and sit at the sushi bar. Staff is always super friendly and has a good sense of humor. Restaurant has a nice lunch vibe and cozy atmosphere. Sushi is pretty darn good. I've been here at least a dozen times and keep coming back - pictures below are from two separate visits. I'll be continuing to stop again and again.

The restaurant is small and somehow they are able to pack a few tables in for guests. Luckily, I did make that reservation and we both got there before opening (5:30pm) so we beat the rush hour dinner time. We were promptly seated and they took our drink and asked if we were ready. We were busy catching up and weren't ready and they came twice and so we just decided the bento box because we were both hungry. While the bento looked smaller than others I've been to. The quality was there and the food was just perfect. I really enjoyed the food at Izakaya. The sashimi cuts of ahi tuna is amazing, while not as big as others that are non-traditional Japanese restaurants. I love the quality and the food they offer. My friend and I both got a bento box and everything was delicious. The servers do come in and check on you regularly which I appreciated and they are really quick to get the food to you. The ambiance is so cozy and reminds me of small diners in Japan. I got the bento box C (teriyaki chicken, tempura vegetables with tempura shrimp, gyoza). The teriyaki chicken and gyoza are nothing special, but was still good. My partner got the katsu curry plate. It is HUGE. He could not finish because there is a lot of rice and a potato with it. There is a lot of curry sauce to go with everything. The curry has corn bits, zuchinni and onions. I think it was comforting as well, nothing amazing but still delicious. My sprite and waters was refilled for free :-) I would come back with friends or family for a relaxing lunch experience.

Same quality but Bigger portions and better dashi, for about the same price? Sign me up. My girlfriend and I skated the potato salad appetizer - a delicious DIY experience that let you control the texture of your potato salad (though I feel I overmixed), and two take bowls which were MASSIVE - easily could have shared. The seafood was fresh, the portions generous, and maybe it's because I have a more Americanized palate, but the mixed seafood dashi was richer and paired much better than a mild seafood chazuke. Plus it came with shiso leaves and tempura crunchies so it was really no comparison. Overall this was a delicious meal that left me extremely full, unlike other seafood bowls that leave you just a little too hungry. Given the tastiness of their dashi, I'll def be back to try their udon. Also, as an added bonus, my dogs love the little dashi fish topper on their food they sell separately at the front.
